[Q] Transferring .mobi (Kindle) files to my Xoom - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a bunch of .mobi files on my computer, a Mac, and I was hoping to move them to my Xoom. I have downloaded the Android File Transfer App, but I do not see a folder for the Kindle App or for Documents.
Does anyone know how I can transfer .mobi files from my Mac to the Xoom so that I can read it on my Kindle?
Thank you

I found a way to get the files onto the Xoom and into the Kindle app.
1. Use Dropbox to move the file onto the Xoom
2. Use OI File Manager to move the file from the Dropbox directory to the Kindle directory
That process seemed to work.

Drop the .mobi files in /mnt/sdcard/kindle. If the directory isn't there then make it or download a sample from a book on the kindle store. If the kindle app is running, then you'll have to force quit it and then relaunch it for the new books to be seen.

[Q] How to associate files to apps?

I have installed the Kindle app on my xoom and can read any .mobi ebook by putting the file in /mnt/sdcard/kindle. I have a few hundred ebooks and I would like to be able to click on a .mobi file on my external sdcard and have it open the kindle app. When I do this I get the message "sorry, no application available". When I go to settings - amazon kindle - it shows "no defaults set", so there must be a way to set defaults for this app. Can this be done?

Is there any APP can allow me perform following CLOUD activity?

So Nexus Don't Have SD Slot. Is there any APP can allow me perform following CLOUD activity?
The APP auto create a Virtual Folder which connect to CLOUD DRIVE.
Next time when I want to view or edit files simply just open any APP and open files in local path, select the Virtual Folder and then we can open files on CLOUD DRIVE without manually download to our device first.
Example 1: I can use Perfect Viewer view my DropBox 20GB comic collection and then open and read any comic zip file directly.
Example 2: I can use MX Player view my Google Drive 100GB video collection and then open and watch any video mkv file directly.

[Q] smb from windows to android external

Hi guys,
I have set up a smb server on my android device (smart tv thing I bought from amazon)
I can access the external drives that are attached to the device fine from windows explorer but cannot transfer anything, I get some message pop up on windows saying the path could not be found.
I've tried searching for a solution but can't find anything. I've tried ftp and that works for single files but not batch files/folders.
Smb is the only way I've been able to map the directory through windows.
Is there anyone who can help with this?
I just need a simple solution to transfer data using win explorer to the external drives attached to my android device.

Photo File Manager

I wish to use my tablet as a photo album. I have purchased a 64g micro sd card and placed a large number of folders and sub folders onto it from my laptop. I want to keep them in the same folder format as I have them on my laptop. Despite downloading and trying many " file manager" type apps I can not find a way for my Amazon Fire HD 8 (7th Generation) to open my photos in the same folder format as they are when I open the SD card on my HP laptop. can anyone offer and suggestions.

App access for OTG HDD

Hi all,
I have a HDD that I can connect to my S9+ using an OTG adapter. Using the My Files file explorer, I can access the files just fine. However, I struggle to get third party apps to access the drive. My ultimate aim is to edit some video files on the drive. I have installed several video editing apps and none can access the files. I have a few file explorers that can read the drive but cannot open the files with the video editors. I dont wish to copy the files to my phone, edit them and then copy them back as that's a tedious process.
Is there any way to force those apps to access the files? I'm not rooted.
