[Q] Droid 2 global stuck on M screen No backup avaliable =/ - Droid 2 Global General

Well I have a droid 2 global and it is stuck on the M screen i kinda dont really know what is going on with my phone I will work you through the steps 1st i used my brothers sd card to flash apex but it was for the droid x not realizing this i didnt back up so i went in recovery and cleared data and cashe and formatted everything is there a way i can get back to a stock rom as if my droid 2 global was new? or what thank you for the help

You need to flash full SBF via RSDLite. Make sure phone boots in bootloader fine- power off, hold vol+ and vol- buttons and power on. If you get the bootloader screen you should be ok.
Don't play too much with the phone as if you discharge the battery, you can't SBF. You will have to charge battery on external charger or in another phone before you can continue.

Another bricked phone, new prob, stock recovery not working!!

Does anyone have this problem? I`ve searched and cant find a solution.
I had sense rom on my phone then decided to go back to jboogie rom. I booted into stock recovery(power+vol down) and when i tried to tap bottom right of screen the screen wouldn`t respond so I couldn`t do a factory reset. I then tried volume up=power button to flash sbf through RSDlite. Nothing came on my phone screen telling me to attach usb, it juat stayed blank, although rsdlite said phone was connected so i started to flash sbf anyway. Then on the phone screen it said software update in progress, once it finished flashing, instead of saying rebooting phone on RSDlite it came up with "pass" and the phone wont boot or do anything at all now.
Sorry for long message, but hope someone can help.
Thanks
Mark
try to flash a stock rom sbf with rsdlite and after that, do a wipe in recovery mod. to enter recovery press power+ vol down, after the droid apears, push vol up+vol down. You have to see then the stock recovery menu. I did in the same way and is working. I think is now so easy to really brick this phone.
Thanks for your reply, unfortunately when I try to get into stock recovery by pressing power+volume down I dont get anything on the screen at all anymore, nothing happens. Its the same when I press power+volume up to try to flash it too.
not even white led?
maybe your battery is 2low?
if u see the white led u can still go into bootloader and flash .sbf with rsd lite
Hi there,
I can't believe its dead!!
I have tried every rom available and tried out all the .sbf's too. A couple of times i thought i have bricked it but it was always done to user error (or a lack of understanding at times on my part). These Defy's seem to be almost bullet proof!
I had the "pass message" from RSDLite and all i had to do was flash the "2.2 bootonly" sbf to get past it. I have had corrupted boot loader messages and more but it just keeps coming back for more once things the right things are done in the right sequence.
Assuming your battery is ok, I would try installing one of the latest froyo .sbf's with RSDLite 3.9 only completion do a wipe from the stock recovery (hold pwr + vol down). Press vol up and vol down to activate the menu, select wipe with volume up or down, press power to go. The after rooting apply one of the excellent roms from Jboogie & Pays.
Good luck... sure it will be fine.

If you have only black screen, you have to flash the latest undowngradable rom you flashed, then you you finally get to moto logo, you will be able to go to recovery and wipe. After it it will boot just fine.
I had the exact same problems, i tried to reflash. It ended up not showing anything on the screen in any of the button combinations. It did however show in RSD Lite and after i tried to flash the chinese rom it said "pass" after that i only got a white led and it no longer was detectable through usb. I tried to recharge the battery so i left it on white light with charger plugged over the night... No success. It's now in service and hope they fix it.
I would like to point out to anyone trying to help me that bootloader no longer shows up, neither recovery menu.

I had a similar thing when i flattened my battery half way through flashing an .sbf. I borrowed a friends battery, flashed the boot only and all was fine. There is a couple of pointers on the forum on how to charge your battery if you dont have a working rom (it wont charge without one! You have to get the motorola logo followed by the battery animation to charge your battery).
In your case im pretty certain you could have saved yourself the hassle of sending it off for service.
Andy
Thanks for all the replys, I have already had the dead battery a couple of weeks ago and "revived" it by putting the + and _ wires of usb cable into the battery of the defy, but this seems different, I cant get anything to work on it, no roms will flash and all I get is black screen. I do get the white led but only sometimes. It is very change indeed, I will try some of the solutions you guys said tomorrow and let yous know how I got on.
Thanks again
Mark
I did not want to risk charging out of wires, i have unlimited warranty on it after all so i gave it to service hoping a fix will be made by guys who know what they where doing (i hope).
In any case i see -qpzmaluk- tried off of wires and nothing happened.
I tried to flash again this morning using all the techniques above but I cant get rsdlite to recognise my phone either now. All i get is when connected to usb is the white led, nothing else happens when i try to go into recovery etc.
Mark
Huge thanks to EDITION I got my phone working again.
I did what he said about flashing last undowngradeable rom and surprisingly it came back to life. Brilliant mate, i cant thank you enough.
Mark
how did u do that? if u said your rsd lite cant recognize your phone?
I kept trying to connect to pc with usb and rsdlite eventually found it so I took the chance of flashing froyo 3.4.3-the one I last had on the phone, and surprisingly this time it went throughht to the end of booting the phone and now I have everything working again including stock recovery etc.
One thing to mention was that I couldn`t get into pwer+vol up or down before I flashed this time I flashed my phone. I just connected it to pc and luckily rsdlite recognised it this time and I just pressed flash button, then eventually phone booted up. So something was wrong and it didn`t flash it the normal way by going into stock recovery on phone but it worked

[Q] Restore Inspire from computer?

Hi,
My Inspire is now stuck in a cm7 bootloop after I messed up flasing cm7 to it, and I can't boot into recovery now. I take out the battery and restart it with power + vol- down, but it just loads back into the bootloop and there is no way for me to access any recoveries or the main screen. Is there any way I can completely reset my phone from my computer? It seems like that is my last resort now, so if that is possible I would be completely willing to start over from the beginning with rooting and flashing. Any help is appreciated.
Also, my volume rocker has not been working for the past few hours, and I have no idea if it was broken originally (I doubt that) or if it was broken after a bad root or something. This is the main reason I need to reset it from my computer.
Also, my phone is not being recognized by my computer when I plug it in. The more I think about it the more I realize that I'm probably screwed, so any advice to the contrary would make me love you forever.
try with the power cord attached, holding the volume up,power on until the red led starts flashing, then remove the battery put the battery back in, press the power button. for me this got it into recovery. good luck
Thanks for the help, but it didn't work. At this point I'm just looking for a way to reset it from my computer and start completely over. I don't care about any data or apps I had on there, and I don't even care about the root I had. If anyone knows ANY way to reset my phone back to factory settings (or if AT&T does this) please tell me.
If you vant get your computer to recognize your phone then you cant restore.
Some att stores can do it, but remember you have voided your warranty.
What recovery version are you using? If its an older version then you can plug the phone in while it is off, and it will boot into recovery.
How long have pulled the battery for?

guess this wouldn't work then?

Recovery is volume DOWN plus power for 5 seconds, bootloader its volume up plus power...
Try putting CM7 or any other ROM on your SD card via your computer, using a card reader. Then boot into recovery (volume down plus power), wipe data/cache/Davlik, then install from zip. That should get you up and running.

OK! New status...
I reflashed with RDS a 2.51 Deblur ROM.
The phone stuck with android word on screen (an standrad animation in the middle where letters shine).
Now when pluged it shows the batery simbol.
I think is like i need to format caches but how? I havent a recovery. Vol Down+Power shows an Android bot with a big alert sign.

On the alert sign push VOLDOWN and VOLUP at the same time and you will enter recovery.
Then just wipe data and your defy will be fine

no... and i cant use adb shell because i forgot to enable usb debugging
Does this happen when you normally boot the phone too (do you ever see white or red Motorola logo)?
If you don't, you may have hard bricked (damaged bootloader somehow).

Even when i had never attempted to root, my bootloader was blank.
but since i cant do anything because im stuck at the venusX splash i cant even go into clockwork mod
what about stock recovery
hold x when powering up then press up and down volume keys
if that works you could try factory reset or even install zip from sd card
Fixed A Problem Very Similar To This
So my neighbor has a droid 2 global and pleaded that i restore it to default SBF cause his screen went blank and he already has the manufacture warranty replacement phone sent out. if Motorola gets it back with it being circumvented they'll revoke his warranty and charge him FULL price for the new phone.
Two tricks,
1 in the scenario above i simply put a fully charged battery in and turned it on , plugged it in to my win 7 64 with rsd lite 5 and SBF'd it successfully
2 with my GF's droid 2 global when i got it all messed up trying the latest 1.10.7 from MIUI, i had to remove the battery , put it back in (if it suddenly turned on just by putting a battery in i'd take it out and try till it did nothing) then i'd flip the keyboard out and hold down the up arrow on the keyboard. i would push power and hold the up arrow for about 5 seconds and plug it in to the same pc SBF it and it would work again

Try this first:
Plug the phone in for charging. Hold volume up and camera while powering on to get to the bootloader. After you get to be bootloader press and release the power button to shut the phone off. It should stay powered off while it continues charging. But watch it to make sure it doesn't try to autoboot after a while.
If not/alternatively:
Take off the back cover of the phone. Start charging and keep an eye on the screen. It will charge without booting for something like 10-15min. When it starts to boot, yank out the battery and then put it back. Repeat for 1-2 hours.
Or you can maybe try combining these: and use rubber bands to hold the volume up and camera buttons down so that when it auto-powers-on it will go to the bootloader and you can just press the power button if that happens.
I used to suffer this problem a lot. I ended up getting an external battery charger (you can find them for pretty cheap). Strongly recommended.

it did help in charging the battery but the system won't started, it keeps on restarted after the starhub logo (singapore set)..
OK, so first try to get to open recovery (press and hold volume-up while booting from power off state). From openrecovery make a nandroid backup, factory reset, and try a reboot.
If you can't get into open recovery you can try stock recovery (I can't remember the process off the top of my head)
Do you have ext partition on your SD card?
The last resort is to flash back to stock using a sbf using RSS lite/sbf_flash.

it didn't work..i've read some articles about it this problem..all i need is update.zip that compatible with xt720 can anyone please help???
I don't think there are any update.zip that work -- the milestone xt720 recovery never had that vulnerability (unless you've flashed the xt720mod.sbf). And as far as I know all updates for XT720 have gone via Motorola's usb software updater program (not ota update.zip) so I don't think there are any correctly signed full system updates sitting around anywhere.
I think you're going to have to flash a stock sbf using RSD lite (windows) or sbf_flash (Linux, macos)
the device can't be detected by computer in it's current state so i can't flash it
Make sure you download moto usb drivers.
Hold down power button, volume button, camera button at the same time bootloader will come up.
Startup rsd lite plug into usb your phone should be recognize.
If not reconnect if this doest work reinstall rsd lite.

i can only get to bootloader and the android recovery 2e that's it or else it will restart until all the power have drain
If your computer doesn't recognize your phone try a different computer.
Also try plugin and uplugin and plugging again.
Also try hardreset and remove sdcard.

i've tried them all still not working, i got no idea any more how to solve this, but i did try to use update.zip in from this link
http://androidforums.com/motorola-d...la-droid-frg01b-update-1-2-a.html#post1296035
it loaded only half way.
That is for motorola droid not milestone xt720.
Did you try to install something to have this happen.

before this happen im using cm7 but it cant move app to sd, so i tried to install the update using openrecovery it was stucked then i chose to restart it and it continue to restart until now.
What update did you install.
You must realize are bootloader is locked you have be careful what you install.
Sent from my XT720 using xda premium
i dont quiet sure about the update, all i want is to make all the apps movable, but i really dont know the bootloader is locked so how do fixed this?
I hate to be the one to tell you if you can't get into bootloader and be recognized by computer and sbf flash if you can't do this your phone maybe bricked.
