Help with symbolic links

Hey, looking for a little bit of input here...
(Made the ROM from this tutorial)
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=566235
Everytime I try to flash it, it throws an error.
Code:
E:Can't symlink /system/bin/bugreport
E:Failure at line 7: symlink dumpstate SYSTEM:bin/bugreport
Installation Aborted
Any help would be appreciated.
Also, I've compiled unyaffs so that it wouldn't create duplicate symbolic links, and its still throwing the error.

Does the image contain "dumpstate"? If you're just trying to make it go away, modify META-INF/com/google/android/update-script to remove the offending script line, or make sure that the thing it's trying to symlink is in your image.
Removing the conflicting lines did enable it to flash properly, I'm just wondering what exactly was lost in the process of removing those steps. I'll see if I cant figure more of it out. Thanks though

Cant Update to 2.1

On this website: http://www.examiner.com/x-8134-SF-G...d-Android-21-update-can-be-manually-installed.
I followed to instructions to update the Droid 2.1 the firmware is 2.0.1 and the build number is esd 56 which i think is required for the update to work. but when ever it try to update the phone in the boot menu i get a message saying.
E: Cant open /cache recovery/command
--Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(No such file or directory)
Installation aborted.
Why wont it apply the update?
And if this is a wrong thread please notify me.
Thanks
Fixed
Never mind I figured out that i was using windows 7 and when i rename a file that it takes away the .zip part by itself so i renamed it as update.zip.zip. So on windows 7 when you rename it just rename it as "update."
^^
you can also tell that its still a zip by the handy dandy icon to the left of the file name.

Unable to root with universal androot 1.6.2-beta 5!

Sorry mods, if I posted in the wrong place. As you can see, I tried rooting with the oneclick root. And it tells me I have successfully rooted, but when I try to use an app which requires rooting, it tells me that I have yet to root my phone. I have also tried the other method of rooting(Where you have to update via bootscreen) and it just seems to stop halfway for some reason. I am using the motorola milestone. Does it have to do with my phone carrier? Anyone in singapore experiencing this?
I seriously need your help XDA.
Also, I get this while trying to install update.zip in boot:
E:can't open /cache/recovery/command
--install from sdcard...
finding update package...
opening update package...
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Now I get this:
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
--Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to open /sdcard/update.zip (No such file or directory)
E:signed verification failed
Installation aborted.

Well, it really depends on your edit.
I have mounted system.img.ext4 and removed some files from it then i have recreated the image and flashed to phone but i receive this error when the phone starts.
re install the firmware or install a new one....that should serve the purpose
the phone is working when i flash the original fw but i want my modded system.img.ext4
with the modified system i receive this:
Not need checksum confirmation already executed!!... (this is normal )
then:
E:failed to mount /system (invalid argument)
@grigoreee - I have the same problem like You with system...
Do You found any solution?
I think that replace boot.img from this thread:
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1719699
end's in the same way
How did u guys extract the system.img.ext4?
using dd?
I use this method:
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1588461.html
(in mini2 system is mount with the same parameters as described above)
No solution for this error?
I still receive the same error......
