Hi guys I messed up unninstalling apps with Titanium Backup then some functions stop working. I freaked out and reverted the phone back to factory settings but of course it didn't do the trick.
I have found the rom dump with the boot and recovery images, system.tar, checksum.md5 and other stuff. How do I use it to revert it back to stock?
I still have titanium backup backup files in .tar format can i use it as well?

Odin is only for flashing new firmware, I don't think you can backup your rom by using Odin.
samfirmware/sammobile do not have asia rom. So cannot restore back. If the rom available, no need to backup already. I notice S+ only don't have asia rom.
Stupid phone.

Anyone manage to restore back this rom? What stock version for this rom?
Heya u guys, just found this thread... Im int he same situation right now, just rooted my sgs+ 10 minutes ago now, i would like to remove the stock apps, any advices ?
why need to remove. just use titanum to freeze the app better.
I uninstalled most of the stock apps yesterday...
The following apps however dont appear in "Root Uninstaller":
Places
Navigation
Latitude
Also, i am asking myself how important "Talk" and "Talkback" are for the system... are they relevant for any functionalities ?
*EDIT*
talk and talkback seem to be important for google services so better leave them alone

There is still no answer to this question, and I am + one who would like to know how to backup ROM I get with phone from my provider. Reason is simple, because of warranty, and second reason for me is SWYPE on my language.
Any suggestions ?
EDIT: To answer my self and other wondering. If you want to backup original ROM you get with Galaxy + you need to install CWM recovery following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331164
After that boot to recovery and choose backup and here you go, after couple of minutes you have backed up original ROM.
I know when you reboot a p.c. you dont lose any setting . I get the feeling that is not the case with Android. Can someone confirm?
Thanks and sorry for the noob question.

wtf?
of course you dont 'lose settings' by rebooting.
what exactly makes you think it would work otherwise?

Well it seems from stuff that I have read, that a reboot is often compared to a factory reset?
It did not make sense that a reboot would wipe the setting, but I just wanted to be sure.
Thanks!

i dont know what you have been reading, but a factory reset is definitely not equal to rebooting the phone.
+1 all you settings remain intact when u reboot the device. Think about how much of a pita it would be if it did not. No one would buy an android device, and if it could not save you settings data then also your Apps would be lost upon each boot. I have no idea where someone would have claimd this but its so far from the
A factory data/wipe reset does remove all user data
amazing........i loved this question
i may put that in my Sig

Thanks AGAIN Silver! I have had an Android for all of three weeks, but if it were any Win
sys I would be right at home.
I had read on a few sites that a reset would clear all of your personal info and any d/l s/w?
My next step is to root the phone. It's too bad that you can't just boot from a back up if you mess up, and just reinstall the whole O/S...but from what I can tell, you can't just get a virgin copy of the Android O/S.?
Well in this thread it is the virgin copy of our factory firmware. If u ever mess up u can use Odin in this thread to flashing back to stock.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342348
But also u can make backups that restore every thing before u messed up which will fix ya in most situations. Its called a nandroid backup. Once u root boot into cwm recovery, and click back up restore then select backup. Now anytime u want to go back to how your phone was when u made that back up u just ...boot into cwm click backup restore select restore and choose that restore point..... its just like the system backup/ restore in windows

Nandroid requires root, right? I guess that's why some are nervous when delving into new territory..like me.
Yeah u need to be rooted and have cwm recovery. You do the nandroid backup/restore in cwm recovery

If u had really tried the restore properly, even if there is an error, it would only say Restore failed. Please verify where u went wrong.
Hit thanks rather than typing it now Free

Hi,
Is there a way of taking a backup of my device without using TWRP as I cannot see one for oneplus8. I want to carry out so mods but would like to restore the state if anything goes wrong, such as bootloader issues.
Many thanks for your help in advance.

U can use one switch app there u can make a backup.
And if u Stay at stock firmware u can restore also. The folder can be transferred to your pc.
OR in the Playstore search for partition restore OR something like that.
