press the menu and L key at the same time, this gets rid of the waiting for activation screen.

hey everyone. im new to this site and to the android universe
i just picked up lg p999 (G2x) from wind and i was wondering if anyone could give me some instructions on how to update it to gingerbread. i know that there isnt an official update but perhaps someone could tell me how to get the t-mobile software on the phone since they both use the same aws network. I tried to find threads that would help me but they were outdated/not really dealing with my issue. so if someone could help me that would be awesome. somewhat of a complete newb here, so dumb it down please? lol

Hello All, (and Eugene), I am happy to be a part of XDA now, I've been reading the forums for quite awhile trying to learn. I'm self-taught and most of this still reads like greek to me. I've been trying to root my phones for over a year. I'm tired of buying expensive phones that takes no time to mess up then the yahoo's (not the website..lol) send me refurbished phones even if its been only a couple of weeks. Anyway if anyone is here in the Atlanta GA area I'd be willing to pay to get my phone rooted and install a new ROM. I've bought countless apps only to not be able to use them because of now room. Firstly thank you to anyone who has taken the time to read this thread and those who might be able to assist me.
I know NOTHING about tablets or netpads ect. I have a two year old son, and i heard there were some great apps on google play which could help him with his educational development. I basically took all my savings and bought a TELEFUNKEN net pad tpad-70a3gi
The shop i bought it at told me that because its an android and android is google, it would work on google play, i took it home only to find out i cant get google play to work on it, some kind of p**** error. i took it back, but the shop wont take it back, "to bad" i was told.
anyway, i heard that if i can upgrade the software from android 2.1 to 2.2, i might be able to use google play, can anyone help me with this? or even root it or rom it whatever that means, i have been trying to find a solution for over two months now, so this is really my last hope, i heard the guys on XDa are the best... so please help me!!!!

I am working on a phone for my friend that he has bricked. I understand the the process just after some hunting though forums and extensive googleing i am unable to locate it.Was wondering if anyone has this available or knows a place where i can look.
