Hi everyone.
Firstly thank you to anyone who has taken the time to read this thread and those who might be able to assist me.
I know NOTHING about tablets or netpads ect. I have a two year old son, and i heard there were some great apps on google play which could help him with his educational development. I basically took all my savings and bought a TELEFUNKEN net pad tpad-70a3gi
The shop i bought it at told me that because its an android and android is google, it would work on google play, i took it home only to find out i cant get google play to work on it, some kind of p**** error. i took it back, but the shop wont take it back, "to bad" i was told.
anyway, i heard that if i can upgrade the software from android 2.1 to 2.2, i might be able to use google play, can anyone help me with this? or even root it or rom it whatever that means, i have been trying to find a solution for over two months now, so this is really my last hope, i heard the guys on XDa are the best... so please help me!!!!
many thanks
kindest regards

There is a dedicated Galaxy S2 forum for this, I am sure someone can solve your problem there. Here's the link:

I will be the first to tell you I am not tech savvy at all! I have been doing some research with regards to this and have used many resources avail, including this site.
I have read most of the answers to my questions but still require assistance. I have the HTC Desire with with my local internet provider Cox Communications and I have a 10.2 inch tab through wowpad that is powered by Android supertab. It is operating on 2.1. My HTC is 2.2. I am very new to the smart phone world and tablet world.
Is there a way to just simply upgrade my tab to a new OS? Do most of you feel that rooting my phone is the way to go, because I never ever have storage that I need. I know it comes down to a personal choice. Or, will my phone eventually upgrade to a new OS?
I really want to do my tablet but honestly I literally need step by step directions in doing so. If I mess this up on my own, my wife and daughter will kill me. Thanks in advance to all of you. This is truly the best site in the world!
How would rooting your phone solve your storage issue?
More Storage
From what I understand, I will have superuser rights and that would allow me to delete some of the stock programs to free up space. Is that right?
Help
Is there anyone out there willing to help with this issue? It would be greatly appreciated.
This Sucks
Ummmm Wow! I thought I would get some help with this, but I guess not. I guess I'll try another site.
Take it easy, look up your device in the forums and look for how to root.
It's not that hard to do and most devices have a manual how to.
Take a look at this:

Thank you
Thank you krt. That is exactly what I needed. Thanks again.
Hey there!
I have recently registered in xda, but I've been looking through these forums for months, and I admire what this community is doing and how it's doing it.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy R a few months ago, and now I'd like to connect my sixaxis controller to the mobile so I can play PSX easier and better.
I've been trying it but the "Sixaxis Compatiblity Checker" on the market gets stuck and doesn't do anything.
Do you know if anything has been developed or how to do it?
(In the description of the compatiblity checker they say that in the last update SGS2 is now capable of connecting with the sixaxis... just look at it).
Thanks in advance
Sorry for refloating, but I can't believe anyone hasn't tried it yet or doesn't know anything about this. At least tell me it's not possible and I'll take that off my mind!
Ty!
Dude seriously...you are talking about some third party application/accessory which is only popular among the special group of users namely the gamers. I personally don't play at all and have never heard of it you wrote. We're kind of SGR/android freaks but only few of us are familiar with such stuff. So I am sorry but I cannot help you.
Hello All, (and Eugene), I am happy to be a part of XDA now, I've been reading the forums for quite awhile trying to learn. I'm self-taught and most of this still reads like greek to me. I've been trying to root my phones for over a year. I'm tired of buying expensive phones that takes no time to mess up then the yahoo's (not the website..lol) send me refurbished phones even if its been only a couple of weeks. Anyway if anyone is here in the Atlanta GA area I'd be willing to pay to get my phone rooted and install a new ROM. I've bought countless apps only to not be able to use them because of now room. Even when I delete everything the phone will say running low on space. Someone please help, thank you so much in advance. Please contact me @ ***@yahoo.com.
It's never a good idea to post your e-mail publicly on the internet. Users can contact you via PM instead.
Hi there, firstly I hope I'm posting in the correct place but if I'm not please accept my sincerest preemptive apologies and feel free too relocate me to the appropriate thread.
Here's my saga, I recently got a Cubot C9+, it's a genuinely good phone which I'm quite happy with however it's not without problems. It came with Android 4.2.2 installed, after getting it I ran the manufacturers update however a lot of my SMS messages are not getting to me, I have tried everything including new sim, alternative SMS apps etc and still no joy at all. On top of that it is a little laggy, I'm wondering if theres any alternative Operating Systems I can use on it? I found some fantastic roms for my old Xperia X8 and X10 mini pro but there doesn't seem to be much for this phone, I wouldnt mind downgrading to an older operating system either. I would prefer not to have to mess about with the firmware if possible as I managed to brick a phone or two in my past and just dont have money for another one right now.
Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated and again sorry if I have posted in the wrong place.
Many thanks
