hello DEVELOPERS !
SO I need help with: -Format-signed.zip folder- when you flash it from recovery on Nexus One is DELETE everything (format /data /system /cache and /sd-ext) INSTEAD WIPE, unfortunately this FORMAT.zip doesn't working with Nexus S
Can some one rebuild this ? so it's gonna work for us?
YOU CAN SAY: I can go into CWR and select Mounts and manually format /data /system /cache and /sd-ext
TRY TO FORMAT and restart the phone....u phone gonna boot...+(sd-ext always gives error when u wipe, or format it)
after "my" format you phone gonna stack on boot loader....because it's nothing there !

Hey
I'm trying to change from Prime to Revolution ROMs, but during wiping, I seem to be hitting a problem. When coming to wipe /data, it says it can't remove bootanimation.zip. I'm trying to go in via adb and do this manually, but it won't seem to let me mount /data as read write.
I'm using adb shell while in recovery, and it isn't giving an error message, just constantly staying as ro. This is using clockword recovery 3.2.0.1.
Anyone know what else I can try?
Thanks for your help.
Do you want to give it a try with root explorer?
Forgot to mention, since I've tried wiping, it now just bootloops. Recovery is all I can get into.
edit:
Just to make it clearer what's happening, I'll do it step by step:
- Load recovery, and open adb shell on my PC
-Mount data in recovery, check it in adb shell and it shows it as read/write
-Go to delete a directory or file, and it say's it's read only, check mounts and it's gone back to ro
-If I unmount and remount, it will go back to being RW, but then the same as above happens.
-My problem is when I try to wipe or format in recovery, it gives an error saying it can't delete a certain file
Managed to fix it now. It appears that while using the Superwipe Full script for Revolution ROM, the file table got completely messed up. I used parted to reformat the data partition as ext2, and I can boot now.
I've managed to get that awful Rom (Destroyer) Manager off of my TF101G and have got Rogue on via PERI and now I'm trying to flash the stock ASUS ICS Rom but can't delete the Dalvik Cache because I'm unable to mount /data
Code:
- - Wiping all user data - -
Formatting /data...
Formatting /cache...
Formatting /sd-ext...
Formatting /sdcard/.android_secure
Cache wipe complete.
Formatting /cache...
Cache wipe complete.
Wiping dalvik-cache...
Error mounting /data!
I'm assuming that /data is stuck on read only?
Manually fixing permissions and then mounting /data also shows the same error.
HELP :crying:
idk why im confused. can someone please verify. want to flash erikmm rom
ummu - unmount system, mount cache, mount emmc, unmount sdcard?
is this what we want to see and leave everything else the same?
if we did have to flash stock rom. do we mess with these again?
Yep to your first question. And if restoring a backup you don't need to worry about them. Otherwise I'm not sure? Sorry.

Hey, I can answer your question
In erikmm's thread, he said:

Installation Instructions:
1. Must have efs backup on desktop * just in case *
2. Nand Backup
3. Format System
4. Set Mounts to UMMU. *unmount cache, mount data, mount sdcard, unmount system*
5. Wipe Data/Factory Reset
6. Flash Rom
7. Reboot
8. Let the phone sit for 10 minutes then enjoy.

First, you want to flash this ROM. You should odin back to stock, and odin recovery ( for a full wipe )
Make sure Battery is full charged before odin these things
Second. Go to recovery. Volume up + Down + Power.
1.Backup ( of course )
2. After that, format system, try to format 3 times.
3. Go to Mounts & USB Storage
You'll see a lot of things. Make sure you check in this
unmount cache
mount data
mount emmc
unmount system
is correct.
If you see one of these option is different than erikmm said, you'll try to correct them. Ex: You see in CWM "unmount data", you can correct by press Power button to changed it to " mountd data "
And the same as another options
4. Make sure you correct right things in CWM. After that, do an wipe data/fatory resets ( 3 times, I think ) and flash erikmm's ROM in your SDcard
5. Reboot, wait for 10 minutes, and enjoy
Maybe the confusion is this... inside the "Mounts and Storage Menu" lists as follows...
mount /efs
unmount /data
unmount /cache
unmount /emmc
mount /sdcard
mount sd-ext
format /data
format /system
format /cache
format /emmc
format /sdcard
format /sd-ext
mount USB storage
+++++Go Back+++++
thus the UMMU stated is not in that order and what about the others?
Be safe and have fun.
You no longer need to mess with the mounts when installing erikmm's ROMs.
I was trying to install a custom ROM on my infuse, but bricked it. Now I ODIN back and can get to either the CWM recovery screen OR the Android system recovery 3e screen but here is where it gets weird, I cannot figure out for the life of me why I cannot flash from a zip file, I always end up with both recoveries telling me that my storage is not pre-paired yet. The read out goes some thing like this:
--Copying media files...
E:failed to mount /dbdata (file exists)
E:copy_dbdata_media: Can't mount /dbdata
your storage not prepared yet, please use UI menu for format and reboot actions.
Media files copy failed.
Please if anyone has a idea, shoot me your thoughts. Thanks in advance
What rom are you trying to flash?
You are on stock froyo, correct?
What method are you using to get cwm?

Hello,
I'm trying to erase cache using the stock recovery. But get stucks for ever at this point:
-- Wiping cache... -
Formatting /cache...
I'm using Recovery version: KOT49H
---
EDIT/UPDATE:
This is how i fixed this:
1) I flashed cache partition: Fastboot flash cache cache.img
2) I tried to format /cache until it get stuck for ever (again...)...
3) Manually rebooted and entered Recovery Mode again. (with a lot of fails regarding the mount of the /cache partition, can't mount cache blablabla).
4) Tried to format (the unmounted) /cache anyway...
5) Waited 1-2 minutes......
6) Format /cache is complete.
7) rebooted again to recovery mode and this time (like the 1st time) /cache is successfully mounted but now i'm able to format it without anydelays (Fixed)!
Hi, I'm new to flashing custom rom. I've accidentally change the file system of my Dalvik Cache to FAT, (the default is ext4). I want to revert it back to ext4 but when I select it, it says invalid partition selection. I haven't flashed a custom rom yet. What should I do next?

AFAIK, dalvik-cache is just a directory present inside /data partition, which is EXT4 formatted (or even F2FS)..
How did you even do that??
There's no separate partition for dalvik-cache.
Maybe you would have changed the file system of /cache partition..
And, to make it clear, /cache partition doesn't hold dalvik-cache.

In TWRP, there's a Wipe option and then I selected Dalvik-cache and mistakenly change the File System to FAT. Now I can't mount it.
