This is a new method i discovered today for removing google account from android device.
This Method does not remove the device from google account, it removes google account from android device ONLY, AND WITHOUT HARD RESETING
PS: It removes ALL google accounts on the device!
All you have to do, is re install GoogleServicesFramework.apk with any method you like,
What i did, i renamed GoogleServicesFramework.apk to GoogleServicesFramework.apl, then checked in settings>accounts Then i found no google account there.
Then restored it back GoogleServicesFramework.apk again, restarted, re-added my account again
Of course i'm not responsible for any damage that happens to your phone, make sure to nandroid backup first
If you have issues in signing in with google after doing that, try installing This GApps Package For Ics , or This GApps package for Gingerbread
Please Press Thanks If I Helped.

I found an interesting situation where after installing Beanstalk 4.4.200 and pa-gapps-mini, my android browser bookmark sync was gone. All I could see is "Local" in the browser not the additional bookmarks from my Chrome account. Just to make sure I went to Settings > Accounts > Google > [email protected], the Browser option is not there! So, I updated to the newest version of Beanstalk (4.4.225) and grabbed the gapps posted by the OP (gapps-kk-20131208.zip). Still, no solution. I tried searching everywhere and found no solution.
Then, I found that there is an APK that takes care of this called ChromeBookmarksSyncAdaptor.apk
I stumbled upon it by digging into the zip file for pa-gapps-full. It should be under the gapps location: system > app > ChromeBookmarksSyncAdaptor.apk
I pulled it out of the pa-gapps-full package, put it on my Infuse SDCard (thank you Dropbox!), and installed it by using Root Browser to copy the apk file into /system/app
After a reboot, the option to Sync in the Android accounts area is there. I just had to check it. Now I can see Chrome bookmarks in my Android browser.
PA-gapps thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Thought I'd share incase anyone else ran into this problem.
Has anyone else seen this issue? If so, how did you resolve it?
Thank you!

If you are not rooted, sounds like you are still on the stock ROM. If that's the case, all the appropriate APK's will still be there, and the problem is related to a bad sync. Remove your google account, and re-add. That should fix it.
Btw, you don't need root to install non-market APK's, just get an APK installer from Google Play and adjust your settings to allow non-market apps.
Finally, does Chrome even work with Gingerbread? I thought it was only ICS and up?

Yes, i have a stock Android 4.4.2 on Note 2. Ok. I will try to remove it and add it again.
Amm, and this problem is with the stock android browser not the chrome.

Oh okay, makes sense.
Hmmm... I didn't realize that bookmarks synced with the stock browser...
I did't work -.-
Yes, i had synced bookmarks in stock browser, and all of a sudden is gone. It sucks.
This is driving me crazy. I tried updating to Google Play Services 8.1.14 so I can try Android Pay. I can install the apk, and it seems to work fine. However, when I reboot I'm always back to GPS 7.8.99.
I uninstalled Android Wear, Android Pay, etc. I turned on airplane mode, reverted all GPS updates (puts it on 6.x), installed the 8.1.14 apk, and when I reboot.... still on 7.8.99!
Yes, I am using the correct built (-238). I am on stock/rooted/s-off 5.0.1 w/ root turned off in SuperSU. If anyone has any clue whats happening here, let me know!
Okay, so it looks like I solved my own problem. I reenabled root and UNINSTALLED Google Play Services via Titanium, then installed 8.1.14, and it seems to have stuck. I still have no clue why the update was reverting, but... whatever. Hopefully this helps someone in the future if they have the same issue.
Disregard my last, that was not successful. Smart Lock disappeared, and my Trust Agents page was blank with no obvious fix. I did a clean install w/ the latest stock/rooted RUU, and updated straight to services 8.1.14 apk, which worked fine (ncluding smart lock). Until...
Until an 8.1.15 auto-update. Which put me right back into the same revert on reboot loop, except now it would update to 8.1.15 a couple minutes after ever boot, and then revert to 8.1.14 every reboot.
I sorta narrowed down the problem... The 8.1.14 update I installed manually via apk resided at /data/app/com.google.android.gms-1
Every time I rebooted, it created a NEW folder and redownloaded 8.1.15 to to those folders, named com.google.android.gms-2, com.google.android.gms-3, com.google.android.gms-4, etc.
I'm assuming this is exactly what it was doing before i wiped, except 7.8.99 was installed to the com.google.android.gms-1 folder which it always reverts to.
The fix was simple: delete com.google.android.gms-1... rename com.google.android.gms-2 to com.google.android.gms-1. Delete all the extra copies.
If anyone could explain this behaviour, I would love to hear. This seems like a pretty big bug, I'm not sure if it's related to the (stock) rom or a bug with the 8.1.x google play services.
here is your fix

this was a few pages back on this section. You basically need to change the owner of '/data/app' to the system. Post 7 has the adb commands or use root explorer or some other app to change all folder and subs.

:victory: Some times my searching skills aren't up to snuff. I thought my issue was specific to play services, so this didn't come up. This is good to know, and should be added to the RUU thread!

I would agree about adding to ruu thread, however, i cannot enforce that. I know some of the newer ROMS might support that like fluent 6.1 i believe does, and santod latest debloat i have not had any of those issues with those.
No issues here. What I did was let it download gmscore, then I cut and pasted base.apk and lib (from data/app) to system/priv-app/GmsCore (deleting preeviois GmsCore.apk and lib first) and renamed to GmsCore.apk - then reboot.
Id try this.
Hey guys,
If this is a duplicate please let me know, but I personally didn't find any information here before I tried a few methods to make these work.
Make Gmail Work
Convert the following apps to system apps:
Gmail
Google Play Services
Google Services Framework
Make Google Contacts Work
Disable Amazon's default contact app.
Install Google Contacts and convert it to system apps.
Download Google Contacts Sync (remember to download version 5.x for api level 22), install, and make it system.
Wipe app cache / data if needed.
Both apps mostly works, Gmail still crashes occasionally, but WAY better than before and is now usable. Edit: Gmail failed after rebooting and did not work again after that short, sweet, few minutes of working... But Contacts work pretty well.
Going through logs, looks like it's Amazon's download manager causing the crash. If anyone knows where to find a replaceable download manager let me know! Google's only supports 7.1 and up.
Good catch! Have you tried apkmirror? What's the namw of the Google's downloadmanager? I have older lg tablet(android 5.1.1) , maybe that one will work.
Nevemind, I've found it and extracted. Let me just find some file host.

Your Google Downloader doesn't work. Couldn't get the apk to install, even if I put it in the system folder manually.
Anyway, in the process I accidentally deleted the .odex file for the original download manager. If you or someone else could provide me theirs so I can fix this, I would really appreciate it. Can't download anything on the play store or amazon app store now.
@wilburblin
Have you tried oldies but goodies to get GAPPS going?

There is no reason this should not work ...

I've been running contacts for a few days now, converting to system and wiping cache isn't necessary, in my experience. I can't get gmail working stable for the life of me though. I read some discussions that said the reason why it fails is because it has a permission to auto download without a prompt (for attachments) and that Fire OS has a problem with that. I've tried running older versions of gmail, and I've rebuilt gmail with the download activity removed, tried converting gmail to system and to priv-app. No luck.
I got gmail working. It's a user app and I used appsettings module v1.15 for xposed to set orientation to force autorotate. I don't know why it worked, but it's survived many reboots now. I have all the google services installed and the Amazon email app is installed but I'm deep hibernation via rom toolbox. Hope this helps

Can you try sending yourself an email with an image and then try to open that image in gmail?
Gmail works fine for me on the Fire 10 2017 apart from crashing when opening images.

I tried to show the picture and it didn't crash. I tried the force autorotate method but failed for a few times. Then I chose not to show the picture automatically (&force autorotate) and it worked, at least for now.

Here's my experience: an embedded image is fine, an image as an attachment will crash it. i messed with this for a while, couldn't get it to work, and went back to 9folders email. It makes sense, since from what I read, the reason it crashes is because it doesn't get permissions to download attachments (because of a signature problem between gmail and download manager). I think someone already tried to replace the download manager with a google signed one and the result was a bootloop. I wonder if there is any way to give gmail root rights, so that it gets all of the permissions. Or to sign gmail with the same signature as our download manager.
I have Android 7.0 on my Note 5. I'm trying to install an older version of Gmail (I have the Unknown Sources thing already turned on) . I have tried downloading the APK files from various sites, but every time I click "install" it always says it can't install the file because it's corrupt.
I've had a few updates since getting the Note (it's been about a year now since I got it from AT&T) and I think one of those updates may be what's causing it to stop installing the APKs. Obviously other changes have been made under the hood, but it has to be the OS because I could install APKs when I first got the phone (back when it had Marshmallow on it).
I've tried wiping the cache and even doing a factory reset and it still won't install the APK file. I've tried several APK files and I keep getting the same response; App not installed. The package appears to be corrupt.
What's really odd is yesterday I was reading an article and it mentioned installing a APK for Google Now integration with Nova Launcher. I thought what the heck and downloaded the APK. It installed without any problems. I got this APK from the same place (APKMirror) I was getting the older APK versions of Gmail. I wonder why this one worked and the Gmail ones didn't?
If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
I managed to install an older version of ES File Explorer this morning. I got it from the APKMirror webite. Unfortunately, none of the Gmail APKs will work. Obviously I can still install APK files, so I'm going to have to search around on some other sites and see if I can find a good one for Gmail.
