My brothers Inspire had the orientation sensor issue so he got it exchanged through warranty since his 30 days was up. The second one also had the issue so he exchanged it again and same with the third one. This time warranty gave him the option to get a different phone. They offered him the samsung captivate, motorolla atrix, and the samsung windows phone 7. He chose the atrix. My thinking is that after the samsung infuse and lg thrill are released that they would be options as well since they are both comparable phones. I might be doing this to get a thrill or infuse.
What insurance company does he have? Most only allow up to 3 devices a year so I'm curious..

This only will work with the standard one year device warranty through ATT if u have an iPhone ur out of luck won't work since ATT won't be replacing the defective devices

Its the standard at&t one year warrenty. If you exchange a phone 3 times on the fourth time you can ask for a different phone model and they will send you the phone battery and charger and you have to send back just your phone.

but you can only do this once per 2 year contract.
what issue?? the screen orientation huh? I wanna know in case mine has it lol
Hey, I might try breaking my device four times in a row. I hate this Xperia X10 that I have right now, but I'm loving all the freedom that Inspire 4G has to offer. And plus I still have the one-year warranty.
Cool knowing this just in case but too bad he went with the locked down Atrix. :/

So whats going on now with T-mobile if we try to do a warranty exchange?
I had a hd2 and it had issues and they sent me a g2x about 7-8 months ago but now it seems alot of the issues that have been reported "that I didn't have I have now" I just don't want a refub g2x my screen looks good and I don't want a refub with screen bleeds.lol
Im sure somebody has dealt with Tmobile on this just wondering what the outcome was.

I may be wrong, but if you receive a warranty replacement for a phone the remaining warranty is carried over from the original date of purchase of the first phone. If it is still in the warranty period of the hd2 you should be fine.
Na its been over a year since I bought the hd2.The right thing for them to do is give me a year on the g2x "but the wont" cause they gave it to me and I didn't know about all the issues it has and they was like your lucky this is one of our hottest phones lol
Has any one used asurion are the replacing g2x's with g2x's?
I have gotten two warranty exchanges on my G2x and the first on I received seemed to be a new G2x with LG logo instead of T-Mobile logo under the ear piece, by the second one I received was a refurb an the way I could tell was that after a week of using it I started having a bad screen bleed... When I called T-Mobile and asked for a replacement phone, basically I didn't want the G2x anymore, they told me that I would either get another G2x or the Sidekick 4G... I just decided to order another screen off eBay and replace it myself..... Asurion will exchange you phone for you but there is a $130 deductible that you have to pay if you decide to use your insurance to get your phone exchanged

I recently got a gs3 from a friend..so I did not buy through verizon or update my contract. With every single old phone ive had if i had any problem that was not due to dropping or getting wet i would call and the phone would be replaced through a one year manufacturer warranty. Is this still the same with the s3 and does it matter that i did not purchase it through verizon? i know i cant get insurance since i didnt purchase it through them but isnt it still covered from the manufacturer warranty? again i always got phones replaced for free if there was something wrong from the manufacturer.. as long as the phone had no signs of being dropped or abuse
I purchased my phone on another friends account, so I wouldn't loose unlimited data and was told by Verizon that it's fully covererd for 2 years. 1 year from Samsung and 1 year since I pay for the insurance. Hopefully I wasn't lied to!
My friend has bought a couple phones via craigslist and was able to put insurance on em. And yes you are still covered via the manufacturers warranty, atleast my friend was.

I got a brand new Sensation 4G from T-Mobile back in March. It started getting dust under the digitizer at the top of the screen so I took it in to my local T-Mobile shop. They said it was still under warranty, but I'd have to pay $20 and that they couldn't repair it or replace it with another Sensation. They only offered me a Galaxy S Blaze (which I feel is an inferior phone) as a replacement. If I wanted an equal or better phone to replace it they said I'd have to pay full price for a phone since I'm not eligible for an upgrade till February. Basically, I have to pay $20 to downgrade my phone. I thought a warranty meant they would repair the phone for me, I was frankly appalled at the lack of service I received and just walked out of the store. Has anyone else experienced this with them on the Sensation?
Sadly I think they are doing this now because they no longer sell sensations. I had a similar experience with my last device which they gave me a my touch slide to replace it. It was a piece of junk. Out of my frustration and being in contact I paid full price to get my sensation. Which I'm still paying off after a year on there payment plan. This is how they stick you. I called the other day to see how much I had left to pay and was disgusted at there amount still owed after putting 200 down! It's shameful that they don't support their devices and the sensation is not that old! I'm really sorry this happened to you but there is not much we can to but lodge a complaint to T-Mobile. I know it's very frustrating. I wish you the best. Good luck.

Unfortunately I activated this phone in March, and according to T-Mobile's site: "You have 14 days from service activation, valid upgrade, or exchange to enroll in Premium Handset Protection."
I don't have any extra cash right now so I guess I'll just have to put up with not being able to see the top 1/3 of my screen until my contract is up and I've saved up enough to buy a new phone and contract somewhere else. Only thing that sucks is that my wife and I are on a family plan and she has the same phone. When we switch to a new carrier we'll have to fork over the cash for two new phones instead of just one. It's amazing how fast they stop supporting devices these days.

I just got out of a chat session with T-Mobile support. I made a copy:
Customer ChatChat Transcript
Please wait while we find an agent to assist you...
You have been connected to %Leonil C.
Customer: There's an issue with my phone and I'd like to replace it under warranty.
%Leonil C: Hello C*****. Sorry to hear that you're having issues with the phone. Don't worry we can troubleshoot to get it fixed, if not, we can talk about the replacement.
%Leonil C: What it wrong with the phone?
Customer: Well, I've had this Sensation 4G since it was brand new back in March 2012. A large amount of dust has accumulated under the touch screen, making it difficult to see the screen properly.
Customer: I've checked the liquid damage indicators on the battery and in the battery compartment and it appears that this is not related to liquid damage. Dust just seems to be entering in from the top edge of the screen.
Customer: I'm also having a lot of difficulty picking up a signal in my area and often have no signal at all for extended periods of time.
%Leonil C: Okay. If there are dusts behind the screen, we can replace it right away. You mentioned that you checked the Liquid Damage Indicator. Is it still white?
Customer: Yes, still white.
%Leonil C: Awesome. There is no physical damage right?
Customer: No, no damage at all. It's still in like new condition except for the dust under the screen.
Customer: I attempted to take it in to my local T-Mobile shop and they said that I could only get it replaced with a Samsung Blaze, which is an inferior device in my opinion so I did not accept it.
%Leonil C: Okay. I will check it from here. Give me a moment.
%Leonil C: Thank you for waiting C******. I tried to check the phones available. The HTC Sensation is not available yet but we have Samsung Galaxy S 4G, Samsung Exhibit II 4G and Samsung Galaxy Blaze.
Customer: I chose the Sensation originally because it had a larger screen and a higher quality camera, All of those devices have smaller screens and lower quality cameras. I am not happy with a downgrade in the specifications of my phone. I am only interested in getting it replaced with the same phone or something a little more comparable than that. You don't have anything a little better than these that it can be replaced with?
%Leonil C: I understand where you're coming from and to tell you honestly, I will not choose any of these phones for replacement too. But the thing is, we don't have stocks for HTC Sensation. That's why we're giving you alternate phone options.
Customer: In that case I will just switch to a different carrier with a better replacement policy when my contract is up in a couple months.
%Leonil C: I understand. Sorry C****** but I cannot do anything about our stocks.
Customer: I do not feel I have received the quality if service from T-Mobile that I should be receiving for my money. I can barely ever make phone calls or send text messages and now you want to downgrade my device that's under warranty when there's an issue with it.
%Leonil C: Yes I agree. Its just that HTC Sensation is low on stock. Sorry C******.
Customer: Is there any way that I can be notified when they become available again?
%Leonil C: As much as I want to, we cannot give you a notification when its available. But you can contact us again to check for the status.
Customer: Can you at least give me an estimate of when I should check back again?
Customer: Or is it at all possible to receive an early upgrade for my inconvenience?
%Leonil C: Sorry C****** but I do not have that information. We cannot do the Early Upgrade. But we can give you credits for all the trouble.
Customer: Well, I would like to do that at least.
%Leonil C: Okay thank you. I will credit $10 from the bill for the trouble this has caused. Please contact us again to check if we have your phone on stock.
Customer: Okay, thanks anyways.
%Leonil C: You're welcome. Will that be all for today?
Customer: I heard something about a Premium Handset Protection plan, is it possible to add that to my current plan and if so how much extra per month will that cost me?
%Leonil C: Premium Handset Protection plan is the Insurance. Its an extra $7.99 from the current bill. But unfortunately, we cannot add it anymore on your line. It can only be added 14 days after you receive the phone.
Customer: Okay, well I guess that there isn't anything else useful that you can do for me today then.
%Leonil C: Aside from the $10 adjustment yeah.
%Leonil C: Will that be all for today C******?
Customer: yes, thank you.
%Leonil C: You're most welcome.
%Leonil C: Thank you for choosing T-mobile Chat, have a great day!

Wow! I was not sure if I was going to switch carriers after my contract was up, but they most certainly just made my mind up for me. This is a joke.
They tried to tell me that too, that rep lied to you they do have replacements they sent me two in a week they sent one to the wrong address when complained they sent another over the weekend i would call an demand to talk to loyalty an tell them your about switch I bet you get your handset an insurance. I would call I don't ever use the online chat you get better results person to person demand a manger if you don't like what the rep is saying. You pay a lot of money to these ppl tell that.

Why are you going through T-Mobile?
Your warranty is with HTC.
I also had dust under my screen recently and just emailed HTC. They confirmed the remaining warranty on the phone (valid until July 2013) and arranged for phone to be collected and returned (at their expense). It arrived back to me 4 days later with a brand new screen fitted.
Was very happy with their service and they always responded very quickly to any questions I had. Everything was arrranged through e-mail and their support contact site.

So recently my S3's power button broke and I don't have insurance. My dad has Asurion and we were thinking if we could switch phones, and send my broken phone in. He has a S3 as well. So basically I take his phone and he takes mine and sends in the broken one. Is this possible? Do they look at serial numbers on the phones or anything? I don't mind paying any deductible that he has, but I just need a functioning phone.

You can try it, but i think it's a bad idea. It's essentially insurance fraud, and even though Asurion probably wouldn't be able to find out they would charge you the full price of the phone if they did find out.
You're better off contacting samsung for a manufacturers warranty if your phone is less than a year old, or get it fixed through mobile tech videos for a reasonable price.

@tu3218 how old is your phone? If it's less than a year old just take it back the store it's a known defect.

I don't think they can check. I just had my S3 replaced. For some reason, Verizon has my S3 listed under my mom's name. No big deal. However, be wary of any device you get from them. As I said, I just had mine replaced. The refurbed device they sent me has had a number of issues. I had to take it to Verizon and ask for a brand new one. So before you root, take a day or two to scout out any issues.

Thanks guys. Yeah my phone is more than a year old so no verizon for me or Samsung. I'll check out Mobile Tech Videos. This is so frustrating cause I've kept my S3 is such good condition, never dropped it or anything. But I get stuck with defective hardware because of piss poor design by Samsung. Sorry, just going back to grad school in a couple weeks and don't need this right now.
Hi everyone.
So for the first time, I plumped for insurance. Because I am so paranoid about breaking that screen on my S8+.
I've never had it before (I had Apple Care on my iPhone) and am just curious as to your experiences of T-Mobile's plan. I was toying with going with Samsung's Premium Care because it says they deliver a replacement to your door, but the Tmobile guy convinced me to try theirs instead.
What I'm wondering is what happens if you break the screen? (I'm guessing people did this with the S7E and the S6E).. Say I call Tmobile and tell them, do they make me send the phone off for repair or do they ship a replacement out to me and then we swap? I'm used to Apple Care where they would take the deductible and then just replace in store.
I believe the Samsung one is near to that (not in store, but they deliver the replacement to you) so wonder how T-Mobile vary. If it's the kind of thing where they are going to make me wait weeks to have it fixed, I'll cancel it.
Thanks.
I've been. T Mobile customer since day 1. I've had the regular & jump insurance since I had my G1. I've only had to replace my phone 2 times since then. Once from theft and once from cracked screen both times i had to pay the premium which was around $100-$200 depending on the price of the phone. Once the replacement comes you send them the broken one. This time around I am trying out Samsung's Insurance.
My insurance is included with my jump 1 program. T-Mobile uses a third party insurance company called Assurant. The deductible for for my S7 flat was $175. As the previous poster said, you fork out the dough, they send you a new or refurbished device along with a return shipping label. The newer the phone, the more likely you are to receive a brand new and not a refurbished device. The more expensive these devices get, the higher your deductible is going to be. I've never used another insurance before.

T mobile is doing it a bit different now for some reason if your device has defects they send the replacement to a tmobile store where they will inspect your phone before they give you the replacement its happen twice like this that ive seen . My sister just did it they just charged her the 5 dollar shipping fee since it was hardware issue but the guy said that their insurnace claims will be handled like that from now on , waste of personal time IMO but i guess saves them money from people trying to pull a fast one

This has been my experience as well regarding the process. I have been in a TMobile store when a huge argument have broken out regarding the need to replace a phone. So if I have any doubts I just say I lost it because I don't want any rep trying to be God.
This is great - thanks guys. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't be in the situation where I called them to say I had a smashed screen, they sent me a returns label and then I had to send the phone off and wait three weeks for it to be fixed or anything like that.
Do they tend to issue replacements fairly quickly? I'm on the policy with Jump. Not that I have any intention of using it but I'm paranoid about this screen!!!

you gotta make a claim with the insurance company.
They will charge you whatever the deductible is. You pay that and they send you a phone next day air.
Get that new phone and put the old one back in the box and return it. All prepaid labels.
You can do this 2 times a year.
