Can't get back into ClockworkMod Recovery - G Tablet General

I put BitTrix gingerbread beta 06 on my Gtab a few weeks ago from ClockworkMod Recovery .8 and today I was tried to put Corwin's CM7RC2 ClockworkMod Recovery would not come up it just boots into BitTrix.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919958
Just taking a guess here, but cwm .8 is mentioned as the cwm to use, as per BitTrix's first post. My guess is that this other cwm you attempted is not supported on the mod? Just a guess.
If you have adb, you could reflash a working recovery via the flash_image tool (see my 3558 Recovery Pack for details - you could dissect that and adb push it and chown and chmod as needed). Else, you might have to use nvflash to push out a working recovery.

Have you tried re installing bekits .8 and trying again?

I did try reinstalling bekits .8 didn't work I'll try the ADB flash tool
Thanks for the replys.
I fallowed BitTrix instructions and the rom works fine I just can't get back into CM to put a new rom on

I thought it was a long shot but I'm all about never overlooking the simple stuff.
Good luck

Old One,
Personally, I keep a miniSD card sitting around with CWM .8 on it ready to load. I go
ahead and put the update.zip file on it and the Recover folder also. (Of course, don't
forget you need to use Notepad to edit the "Command" file in the folder pointing to
SDCARD2 instead of SDCARD. And make sure it gets saved as "command" without any
.txt on the end.
This way, I can keep my machine stock most of the time -- but if I need CWM should a glitch arise, I can just put in the miniSD and boot into recovery with power and volume + --- and CWM gets installed.
Hopes this helps.
Rev

Keep in mind that if Old One borked his recovery, he can't use an update.zip to fix it. That's why I had suggested nvflash or flash_image instead.
Borked my recovery plenty of times. (that doesn't sound right, either).

I had to use NVFlash but it's fixed now.

PLEASE HELP! Deleted recovery.img but have root within OS and Engineering BL

Guys, I'm RETARDED. PLEASE HELP ME.
I was going to update to JesusFreke's RC30v1.3, but when booted up pressing HOME + END, I saw that for some reason, I didn't have the recovery image that uses the test keys while i did have the modded boot image (getprop ro.secure returned 0)
I tried following the guide here since I still had root from the adb shell, but when I tried to do it, I got stuck. When I tried to do the following line,
Code:
cat /data/local/recovery.img > recovery.img
I got this:
Code:
write: No space left on device
No problem, I thought. I'll just wipe the phone and then try it again!
It didn't work.
I then started experimenting with different things, even though I know I shouldn't have... and then I accidentally deleted my recovery.img file. ****.
As you may have surmised from the title of the post, I have root access from within the OS and from ADB and I also have the ADP1 bootloader on my phone. When I try going to the recovery menu, it just takes me to the bootloader (with the skateboarding 'droids). Also, I have installed manup's Bluestar 5 theme. I don't know since when my recovery image had reverted, but I know it was some time after I installed the ADP1 bootloader.
I've tried to do the stuff in the post mentioned above again, but it still gives me the damn
Code:
write: No space left on device
... I think it's mocking me.
The REALLY ironic part was that the first thing that I was going to do when I installed v1.3 was make a NANDroid backup.
Guys, PLEASE help me with this if you can. I know I was a retarded noob, but I'll learn from my mistakes. In the meantime, I can at least USE the phone... just with JF's RC30v1.2 and without Stericson's new theme (which I was gonna apply after backing up from NANDroid after installing RC30v1.3)
Thanks for your time,
~Ankush
The reason you are having write errors is JF has pushed the storage of /system partition to the limit. But flash_image can take any source location. Just put recovery.img in /data and then run
flash_image recovery /data/recovery.img
I saw that for some reason, I didn't have the recovery image that uses the test keys while i did have the modded boot image (getprop ro.secure returned 0)

This is a documented bug in v1.2. The new v1.3 recovery has a very distinct background image so there's no more ambiguity.
When I try that, I can boot into the Recovery menu, but when I try to apply the v1.3 update.zip, it fails at the "verifying update package" step and says:
Code:
E:Corrupt file:
data/recovery.img
E:Verification failed.
Installation aborted.
I redownloaded the recovery.img file and tried it again several times, but it didn't work either...
Thanks for the reply though.
~Ankush
P.S: HAPPY NEW YEAR! (at least in EST)
After you have done flash_image, rm recovery.img from /data. Also you might want to check your MD5 of update.zip
Yeah. I ended up downloading the 1.3 update again and then unzipping the recovery.img from that and applying it.
I saw the weird background along with the NANDroid 2.1 option so I applied the update.zip of the redownloaded JFv1.3 update.
I think that the main problem was the md5...
Oh well, it's all dandy now!
Thanks a BUNCH jashsu, have a happy new year!

[TUTORIAL] Updating to DI07, Obtaining Root, and Flashing Custom Recovery [FIX]

Scroll to the bottom for a fix to the newest clockwork recovery flasher...
UPDATING TO DI07
First things first, you must update to the latest firmware and kernel, but in order to do this you must un-root and return to the stock kernel in order to avoid problems.
Simply download the zip here, and run the run.bat inside, after extracting the folder to your desktop.
You must have debugging mode enabled for this to work.
Once that's finished you can update to DI07 using the stock recovery. You do this, like any other update, by renaming the zip (found here, to update.zip on throwing it onto the root of your sdcard.
Then, boot up into the stock recovery (power+camera+volume down) and press home to apply the update.zip.
The update will install and your phone will reboot into DI07.
First boot will take some time, so be patient.
Now onto the fun part, rooting your phone.
OBTAINING ROOT
Just as you obtained root before DI07, you obtain root on DI07, if you have the right tools. Download the one click root here, and once more extract the included folder to you desktop, make sure you have usb debugging enabled, and run the run.bat. Your phone will reboot, and you will have root.
FLASHING CUSTOM RECOVERY
Here is where it gets a tad bit more complicated. First off, you have to download the zip here, but this time before running the bat you have to open up command prompt and redirect it to your C:/android-sdk-windows/tools folder and then run the following code.
adb devices
adb shell
su
remount rw
exit
exit
Now the command prompt should close, and you can run the run.bat for build 31 of clockwork recovery flasher. Once more, your phone will reboot and after the script is done running and says "press any key to exit...." you can press enter and boot into recovery.
That's it, three simple steps to updating, obtaining root, and flashing clockwork recovery!
Also, don't forget to check out my ROM coming later today, as well as noobnl's Andromeda Galaxy ROM v1, just released.
great tutorial...and i can use these instructions even if i am using aridons v4 rom and heros overclocked kernel?
Well, it basically reverts you back to the stock kernal, so you will for sure lose the overclocked kernal. However, I'm not sure about the ROM. Your best bet would be either to hold off on this as the ROM you are suing isn't based on DI07, or flash to stock and then follow this guide. Your choice.

Well I just ran this and at first glance, it got me right into clockwork. I selected one of my nandroid and restored it. After the phone finished restoring and everything, I wanted to make sure that I still had clockwork but instead it was stock recovery once more.
Since I still had root, I redid the steps starting with entering the commands, then I re-ran the bat file for clockwork. I checked and clockwork is back...unknown as to how long though.
Thank you!!! the remount rw was what I needed to get the clockwork custom recovery to flash!!!
I have another question for you? Is it possible to install the custom recovery without having root? I suspect not? The reason I ask is that I would like to have a nandroid backup of the completely stock rom although I guess I could use the one noobnl has posted
well, i got back to a stock rom....applied the stock kernal...but when i went to apply the update.zip...it took me back to clockwork...not the stock recovery....so i tried to apply the update from there but it aborted...how do i get rid of clockwork so i can go into stock recovery and will that fix it?

Three options I can think of- if you use adb reboot recovery I believe it will load the stock recovery- the other option is to use odin to go back to complete stock. Finally you could use the option for clockwork in this thread look for the link under "B]Update.zip (for clockwork recovery and includes all the listed apps below)"
EDIT: I can confirm that "adb reboot recovery" loads the stock recovery when you have clockwork

Im having a little issue with this. Im running windows 7. Can I do this in windows 7? Also when it says redirect it to your C:/Android---- do I have to change the drive to ex. cd c:/ first or do i just type in the command prompt C:/android-sdk-windows/tools and hit enter and follow the rest of the commands? Sorry extreme noob here..
Thank you for any help!!
I have ClockworkMod Recovery installed, how can I get into the stock recovery to apply this?

You need to use the DG27 uninstaller instead of the DI07 uninstaller to update to DI07.
The DI07 uninstaller is just to go back to stock DI07 kernel if you already updated
DG27 uninstaller: http://www.sdx-downloads.com/devs/noobnl/one.click.stock.&.root.uninstallerv1.0.1.zip
I think it needs to be pointed out that this alone won't work if you are like me and have removed apps from the phone. All those apps must be restored in addition to reverting to stock kernel before the OTA update can be applied. At least that's how I understand it. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks a lot, I appreciate step-by-step tutorials like this for noobs like myself ... this made things a lot easier since some of the stuff (files, instructions, etc.) was all over the place.
would seem that way because I removed the alarmclock to start and when i try to run update.zip from sd it fails when checking current system @ /system/app/AlarmClock.odex
i tried rerooting and reinstalling alarm clock using the backup from titanium. says it is successful but i do not find it in my apps drawer. it still fails there too..

Titanium backup does not restore apps in /system. You have to restore those by hand.
Im officially struggling, undid the root then copy/paste the update to the sdcard, renamed it. It unzips but says its failed to open /sdcard/update.zip(no such file or directory)...suggestions?
I know that in the step it said to copy it to the root on the sd but im am very green to this stuff, and didnt see a folder marked that, therefore I just copied it to the sd card
I can't get Clockwork to flash now. I walked through the steps...I did the remount crap and ran the bat and it rebooted the phone but when i reboot into recovery it goes to the normal recovery screen. Now if I try to redo it it does not recognize the remount rw and i can't get anywhere with it and i'm stuck with no clockwork.

This part is unnecessary because the recovery zip comes with adb built in
is there a manual way to push this to the phone? These one clicks never seem to work for me ever it's just easier to do it myself.

No you must do this in order to get clockwork.

[Q] Issue installing Tiamat 1.4.0

Hi all,
Forgive the noobishness.
I rooted my device using the "One-Click" method found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011196. It appears to have flashed the 1.3.0 Tiamat kernel in the process.
I am trying to follow the instructions here to flash the latest 1.4.0 Tiamat kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=978013
When I went to Mounts & Storage --> Mount USB Storage, I received a pop-up in Windows informing me that I had to format the drive before first use. I tried cancelling that to avoid it, but there was no way around it. I ended up formatting some 3MB drive (although I'm not sure where/what this is.)
I then proceed with the instructions "Drop kernel onto SD card". The problem is, the ZIP is larger than 3MB and won't fit onto the drive that shows up on my PC when I mount the storage as instructed.
Confused as to what I actually "formatted for first use", I actually put an SD Card in the Xoom's reader (even though I don't think it was working yet, which is part of why I want the new kernel), and repeated the 'mount' process. This didn't seem to help at all.
So - where did I go awry? Any advice on where to go from here and how to flash 1.4.0? Thanks in advance.
The easiest way to flash tiamat is to download kernal manager for the market and flash that way.

Had no clue such a thing existed. I had to also install Busybox but it seems to have done the trick. Thanks once again for your help!
no worries
I may have spoken too soon. It seems that the method didn't work properly. Kernel Manager says I installed the kernel, but when I go to Settings --> About Tablet, it still shows version 1.3.0 Tiamat kernel.
It also seems to have broken my Wifi Radio, which now says "Error" since the reboot.
Any ideas?
run it one more time. Make sure you hit the more info button to verify the version
How do I run it again? I had verified before that it was the 1.4.0 Kernel in the Info.
When I go back, all it says is "Install" but the button is greyed out.
When I installed BusyBox through the market, I unloaded it to /system/xbin.
Would this explain why WiFi isn't working?
The wifi isn't working because something wasn't pushed right. I would try to flash to 1.3.2 then back up to 1.4.0 if that doesn't work we'll have to manually push the wifi drivers.
Edit :
If you open busybox are you running 1.18.4?
Hey again -
I did as you suggested, flashed down to 1.3.2 then back up to 1.4.0 via Kernel Manager. I should note that each time I flashed, to whichever version, I had to activate the device for the 3G radio to work.
After doing this, Wifi still isn't working. In About Tablet, Kernel Version is showing up as "2.6.36.3Tiamat_Xoom-v1.3.0-g5019ece-dirty [email protected] #3".
I am going to have to call it a night but any/all info you can post, I will read in the AM. Thanks again for answering these questions.
Ok this is what i would try next. Go here and down load the 1.3.1 kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11798679&postcount=2 copy and paste these commands:
Code:
1. Reboot into the bootloader by running:
adb reboot bootloader
2. Flash the boot image to your boot partition, then boot back into Android by running:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
3. Push the bcm4329.ko, scsi_wait_scan.ko, and any other modules to your /system/lib/modules folder and reboot.
adb remount
adb push bcm4329.ko /system/lib/modules/bcm4329.ko
adb push tun.ko /system/lib/modules/tun.ko
adb push scsi_wait_scan.ko /system/lib/modules/scsi_wait_scan.ko
adb push cifs.ko /system/lib/modules/cifs.ko
adb push vold.fstab /system/etc/vold.fstab
adb reboot
NOTE: Special Instructions for 1.3.1
You have to manually make a new directory called "sdcard2" inside "sdcard" prior to flashing. Either use your file explorer of choice or...
Code:
adb shell
mkdir /data/media/sdcard2
exit
CREDIT FOR Flashing Instructions Template goes to coolbho3000
This will enable your sdcard slot. Then you can download the zip 1.4.0 and put it onto you sdcard and flash through clock work recovery
I wonder what exactly you formatted? I don't think the actual SD card will pop up in windows explorer unless you run a script that enables it for USB.
Make sure the sdcard2 folder is in the root xoom folder in windows explorer (or the sd folder in the Xoom explorer), flash down to 1.31, push the five files then flash CWM. If done correctly CWM can mount the actual sd card on its own and you can install 1.40 there.
I reverted to 1.3.1 and the Wifi radio is now fixed. Thanks!
I created the sdcard2 folder, and now have to go scrounge up a microSD.
So, where ought I place the Tiamat_Xoom-v1.4.0.zip? I'm assuming it goes on the sdcard2 folder when I mount the USB storage via CWM? Or do I need to push it to /data/media/sdcard2 via ADB?
EDIT: all figured out now. Thanks to all for your help!
Please note: the 1.4.0 kernel through Kernel Manager is bunk! At least as of last night! Flashing through CWM did the trick, but I had to flash 1.3.1 first...

It might have to do with the fact that the sdcard was not yet functional on your xoom. I started flashing at 1.3.0 and flashed as BRD was releasing stable kernels. So by the time 1.4.0 was released i was all ready on 1.3.2 and Kernal manager worked great for me. But i am glad you were able to get everything working, and enjoy 1.4.0 BRD is doing some excellent work.

Recovery Problem.

I have problem with CWM v5.8.3.4, while i flash, restore, back, everything it still back to recovery mode, can`t do nothing.
CWM v5.8.3.4 -- Here is your problem, you used ROM manager to update recovery. There are red flags on this pretty much everywhere Dx
You've gotten into the bootloop, see my PERI tool (Link in sig) and try and run the bootloop-fix there, if you can get adb working. You can also try it manually (Again, adb permitting) in roach2010's recovery touch thread, he provides the fix there.
If you can't get adb working at all, you need to NvFlash back to stock, wheelie thread is again in my signature.
Good luck.
--
By the way, you can get back into Android by Cold-booting the system. Hold volume-down, then press power and keep holding volume-down till it boots. Don't press volume-up or anything else, that'll put you back into recovery.
I was tryin` but while i want to flash someting apx turning off and can`t do nothing :/ Erm, how to fix can`t use my tablet about 1 month
Hi,
have you tried coldbooting ?
Hold power and volume down. Should get you out of recovery.
Yes, i do mate, and can`t do nothing. It dont see sd card and tablet memory :/
Okay I have the same problem, i used the cursed Rom Manager and now im stuck in the endless boot cycle, I can cold boot and I have tried to flash roachs cwm but nothing. Ive read where roach gives a code that might fix it, but i have no ideal what to do with that code or how to use it, and i see where thing o doom said the fix is in his signature but im not having much luck with that either. If you could maybe explain to me how im supposed to use roaches code or post the link that explains it here, I would sure appreciate it. Thank you.

Any ideas please? :/
Start an adb shell session with your computer connected, or in a terminal app on your tf, then run roaches fix (type it in) to the terminal app/adb shell session.
"then run roaches fix" u mean write app/adb shell session ?
And now i got another problem:
"E: Can`t mount /sdcard/
Biggest problem for now, i can`t turn on debuging :/
okay I opened terminal emulator on my tablet and typed in roaches fix exactly like it says
adb shell dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3
and this popped up
*daemon not running. starting it now on port 5038*
*daemon started successfully*
error: device not found
255 [email protected]:/ $
what am i doing wrong? thank you so much for your continued help
Ive also tryed the peri and easy recovery with no luck, I think my bigest problem is i dont understand the adb thing, ive tryed searching about it and im lost.
That's the wrong dd command, dd consists of an if=/ then an of=/
Try this.
adb kill-server
adb start-server
adb devices
(you should see the tf, if not, bad drivers/not working connection, fix that first)
adb shell
su (Grant superuser permissions, if you can, and you'll see a # sign)
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3
reboot
Then flash a new recovery by:
Download and extract recoveryblob from recovery.zip
adb kill-server
adb start-server
adb devices
adb push C:\path\to\recoveryblob /sdcard/
adb shell
su (you'll get # sign again)
dd if=/sdcard/recoveryblob of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
reboot
I have to thank you for your patience and continued help with my problem, but with that being said I must inform you that I am still completely lost. Im not a developer and I would not even consider myself remotely knowledgeable in the subject. I was just wanting a nice custom ROM and I had found one with cyanogen mod 9 but I messed up by using the Rom manager and now I'm screwed.
I can cold boot into my tablet, and on my tablet I have this computer emulator program, which i can type in the codes you mentioned, but I'm pretty sure that is not correct. what i need is a program like that on my computer, so far I found this link regarding adb, but I'm not sure if it is right direction.....
http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-set-up-adb-usb-drivers-for-android-devices/
if this is the wrong direction, can you please point me in the right direction? again I am sorry for my ignorance and when this is all done I will be sure to buy you a freaking case of beer. Thank you
You can run the adb commands on your TF using the emulator app, but you'll need to directly download the recoveryblob used to flash.
Open terminal and run roach's fix (except instead of typing adb shell, you just start from su, then run the dd command from there, since you're already in the tf's 'shell')
so
su
dd if of etc
reboot
Then you'll need to reflash a recovery, so download Team Rouge's Recovery.zip then use ES file explorer app (download that) to extract the file called 'recoveryblob'. Take that file called 'recoveryblob' then copy it out of the downloads folder (still using ES file explorer) hit the favorites button then hit /sdcard/ (You don't need a microSD card to do this, /sdcard/ [For whatever reason ..] is the Internal storage. [/removable/microSD/ is the external]) then paste the recoveryblob right in /sdcard/.
Open up the terminal emulator and run
su
dd if=/sdcard/recoveryblob/ of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
reboot
That should give you recovery! (Then you can reflash a ROM or do whatever you need/Enjoy not having to cold-boot everytime)

Thanks for your info. TF now up and running without the need to cold boot. For information, I did not use a Rom Manager to flash the rom, I used CWM to flash the Gummy Rom.
I finally got my tf101 fixed and I learned something new. I just wanted to thank Thing of Doom for all of the help he offered me and without ever asking anything in return. Thanks.....
If anyone wants to know, here's what I did to fix nefem's completely FOUBAR TF101g.
First I tried NvFlash, then right at the flashing stage realized it's a tf101g Sbkv3, so that was out X.x
Then I uninstalled all the drivers and reinstalled them with PERI, got ADB working through recovery.
I had him try and flash a .zip file for a new recovery so I could run Roach's fix, but for whatever reason the CWM wouldn't mount the Internal storage (mmcblk0p7 or /sdcard/) so I manually pushed the recoveryblob to /sdcard/ and it seemed to work, but when I ran dd if=/sdcard/recoveryblob of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4 it couldn't mount and find it.
The next thing I tried since internal was acting funky was looking at the log, I noticed that the directory was /system/sbin so I just pushed the recovery to there, adb push recoveryblob /system/sbin, then ran the same dd command with that directory and it worked. Then I just ran roach's fix normally and rebooted, he had rouge recovery!
That was the first part, his internal was still borked for some reason and Rouge couldn't mount it.
I tried various ADB mounts and they all failed, so eventually he put a MicroSD into his phone (or something else) I placed the ARHD superswipe script and a ROM w/ Guevor's kernel on there, then since rouge reads external, superwipe was able to completely format internal storage. From there it was an easy wipe and flash. Once we got a working ROM on there, we noticed that it was still getting stuck at the Eee pad logo (He could cold-boot). So I figured that his bootloader was still messed up, so we took the latest Tf101G stock blob, used the handy Rayman's blob tools to pull out the EBT (bootloader partition) blob, then directly flashed that with dd again through adb: dd if=/sdcard/blob (Removed the EBT extension, important) of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
Reboot, and finally it was booting optimally!
It was a tad of trial and error (The internal storage thing really had me confuzzled) but it all got fixed up in the end.
Hope this helps someone somewhere

I am having the same exact problem as him with the same amount of programming expertise....I was woundering if you could walk me through it personally as what you've typed above seems like it's in a different language. Thanks very much in advance.

TF101 booting into Recovery

Hi.
First, I'd like to say I tried searching but no luck.
Second, I'm a total Asus noob. I'm pretty good with my HTC Legend, but I don't quite understand the transformer.
My problem: It boots directly into recovery. I bought it used, and it was rooted and running ARHD. When I bought it the seller showed me how to boot it : Boot it regularly, then select "reboot" in recovery, hold "vol-" and it boots into some sort of "menu" where I should press "vol+" to do a cold boot. This is necessary every time. He claimed that all rooted Transformers were like this; I highly doubt that.
So, is there any way I can make it boot normally?
He got it into a boot-loop, you can try fixing it by running my One-Click PERI tool, and then choosing the 'fix-bootloop' option.
This is not normal for rooted transformers, but is a very common and relatively easy to fix problem.

Downloaded, but ADB doesn't recognize my TF101 (adb devices returns nothing)
Tried installing the supplied .inf , but it isn't supported (Windows echoes "The selected INF-file does not support this installation method") and nothing is changed.
So I guess I need some drivers now..
EDIT: Okay, I got the drivers working thanks to Brk's rootkit.
Ran your tool, with "u" as first argument.
Finished without problems.
Still goes to recovery and not booting Android.
Tried applying the "r" option, still boots into CWM 5.5.0.4.
EDIT2: New touch recovery installed, new ROM flashed but still no instant boot.
Ok good, you got out of the bad CWM.
Now you need to reflash your bad bootloader, goto the asus tf101 site, pick download, android, firmware. Then find the firmware for your Region (it'll be WW I believe)
download blobunpack from either searching 'windows' in rayman's blobtools thread or downloading the blob.zip from my boot splash change guide, take the new firmware, unzip the file called 'blob' to a folder with blobunpack.exe in there, then open cmd and cd to the folder, then run 'blobunpack blob', the blob will now be split into many smaller blobs. What you'll want to do is take the one named blob.EBT, then put it on the root of your transformer's INTERNAL storage (So either adb push blob /sdcard/) or use windows to just place it there.
Then go into adb shell or terminal emulator app and type"
Code:
su (Grant root if it asks)
dd if=/sdcard/blob of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
reboot
It will reboot, you'll see a blue bar for just a moment, then it reboots again, and *Hopefully* won't get stuck.

This pad is bought in the US. So I guess I should go with the US file?
Edit: Went for the US file, extracted blob.EBT, tried your command in the Terminal Emulator (i had to add ".EBT" after if=/sdcard/blob to make it work) but it still didn't- It moved the file, and I typed in "reboot". It rebooted, but no blue bar and I went straight to recovery. Trying again, but I doubt it will be any different.
Edit2: Nope, same sh*t. Getting kinda annoyed now...
No you don't want .ebt
You want the file to jsut be 'blob'
You may want to run roach's fix directly after, run the above, then also type:
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3
Then reboot.

Oh thank you very much, this worked. The trick was to let the blob be extensionless.
However, I saw no blue bar, but it booted without going into recovery atleast
Glad it's finally working right
Go call the seller and complain >.<

I thought it was solved, but no.
This comes back every time something in CWM is flashed - flashed a bootanimation, it came back, i ran your commands and it was solved. Flashed a new kernel now, it came back.
Ran the commands, it went away but I noticed my kernel wasn't changed and I can't overclock... I think I have a bad CWM accually.
You need to reflash a working CWM recovery then, I take it you're on that infernal ROM manager version. I'd flash Rouge XM 1.5 touch

Tried PERI but apperantly I cant give ADB SU rights, because wrote failed at /dev/block/mmcblk0p4 because of denied permissions.
Can I use dd to flash it like I did previousley?
Edit: I looked at the sauce of PERI and saw that it was flashing using a shell and DD so I entered it in a regular elevated ADB shell. Finally saw that blue bar I've been looking for and I have Team Rouge's (5.0.2.8) 1.5.0 recovery now. Thank you very much.
Actually, the same has happened to be, and i was trying to go back to stock ww, and i seem unable to find some kind of tutorial for that... I will try what was posted here at least to remove that initial loop.

Running PERI In CWM always gives root access x)
Try doing the fix bootloop function inside cwm.
Nice to see that you figured it out!

That did the trick for me, my "boot direct to recovery" problem started when I accidentely selected Reboot to recovery under Advanced when I was "on that infernal ROM manager version" of recovery.
im having similar problems ..... Yep i updated CWM via ROM Manager to 5.8.3.4 (although since managed to downgrade it in theory to 5.8.2.1)
only way i can get into full Android is via a cold boot (but then i have no SD card or Wifi support) or by flashing a full new ROM each time I reboot !!!
problem i have is that im on my holidays and have no access to a PC
Google brought up a patched CWM version but even after flashing that in recovery it was still booting straight into CWM.
Well you r on holiday so can't do anything now... when you come back home try easy flasher to unroot and root again by that way you can get rid of that recovery....
