[Q] Sense UI No Border Widgets? - HTC Inspire 4G

Have the inspire 4g, am a new root user, as well as new to xda and these forums so pardon me if I ask something that has been answered before, but i have been trying to look for a way to get rid of the black border on the HTC widgets. I think it would look really great having no black background on the weather and clock widgets including the other many many many fantastic HTC widgets seeing as you will be seeing more of your background and visually, it will look more spacious. Is there no theme on the inspire that has this feature or should I say, NOT have this feature? I have searched and have not seen one with just the background gone. Usually with the very few that i have seen with the background gone, there are just complete revisions to the other parts of the widget which I do not like. I'm not degrading anyone's work by any means, I applaud all the modders that make these sensational themes, but I'm just surprised I have yet to find one with just a clear background of the sense widgets compared to the fantastic yet over complications that I see people put into all these themes I have seen!
P.S Sorry if I put this into the wrong thread. Please do say something so next time I will know!

Favorite widgets?

Thanks to god and amazing devs we got 4g on our evo's now while on cyanogen. I can go back to it without feeling like im wasting $9.99 a month haha
I never really have used launchers before and all i see are these screen shots with ppl and all these amazing clocks and other widgets. I was wondering if any of you guys wanted to post your favorites or ones youve used or are using.
Figure this would be a nice place to show a little on your setup without having to type a paper explaining it all.
Thanks guys
I'm personally a fan of SimiClock and Mnimalist Text But check out the LauncherPro and ADW EX screenshot thread for more ideas. Also, my blog has a post on minimalistic widgets if that's your thing
Yea when I use aosp I used beautiful widgets because of how many options they have. There is a live wall paper clock that is pretty nice, if I wasn't on my phone I could tell you the exact name of it. It's on xda somewhere it was in one of the news articles.
Swyped from my Evo on steroids.

[Q] & [REQ] The real "Flip-Clock"?

Hi there.
I think most of you know the nice HTC Sense Clock-Widget with the nice flip-animation.
I loaded and tested dozens of clocks and widget on the markets out there in the android-world, but i couldn't find a clock that has this nice animation.
Is there really no chance to get such a nice clock onto other devices than HTC?
Maybe there is already one out there and i didn't find it?
Please help
Thanks.

I thought I read somewhere that HTC has been sicking their legal team on any dev that copied their animation style and placed it on the market.
Well, what i want is just a flip-clock with "flipping" numbers. I dont mind if the clock dont look like HTC Sense.
Yeah, I love it, "we got it but we aren't giving it to you and we'll sue anyone that gives you a clone that functions like it!" JERKS!
Just released Animating Flip Clock Widget beta. It's beta so bugs can be expected.
Let me know what you think of it.
EDIT: I have just posted it here on XDA.
It looks 0% like HTC's clock...

Request: Can you add an option to remove AM/PM and use 24h-Mode?

Non sense roms and their lack of decent widgets.

Hi all,
Tried runnning a non sense rom, miui and c7 and i have to say i struggled to fill the pages on my desktop, theres no full screen weather app half as good as the sense widgets, infact theres no clock as good looking as the sense clock either, the phonebook on non sense rom's doesn't match up contacts with their fb and twitter counterparts and it actually does lag at times, i thought i'd give it a whirl but i have to say i was left wanting.
Any ideas as to what weather app, main clock, bookmarks widget etc that you would use?
Because unless i'm being silly, there really wasn't a great selection out there.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Sense widgets are a bunch of pointless crapware. Why anyone needs a massive obnoxiously gargantuan oversized clock to invade half their screen like a malignant tumor is beyond me. We have this beautiful, huge Sensation screen and you waste half of it on 3-4 numbers? You must really want to seem "cool" in front of your friends. You already have a clock, it's in the notification bar. You can also get a weather notification on the market. Btw combining contacts manually in cm7 takes like 10 minutes tops, once.

Android 4.0 "Eye Sore"

Hey there, i have a nexus S 4G, im aware what im trying is a tiny SDK port, however when it comes down to it, ICS is ugly. Just so very ugly. I understand why it would appeal to minimalist perhaps but i mean when it comes down to it the icons have regressed into something that looks vanilla. Who makes a menu dark greyish blue and then has a contacts application with BABY blue and pure white in the background. When i used to click on peoples icons i would get intuitive popup menus leading to a list of contact methods I.E. Phone, SMS, Facebook, Gmail... now i get this light blue pop up with a picture and some low quality icons that look as though they have been made by baboons. ICS in the theme department is no doubt a regression from Gingerbread, then when i go to phone i get a black background..Where is the consistency?....Where is... everything looks bulky, like they made it friendly for the use of 70 year old people with cataracts... on a good note the hardware acceleration is nice, i like how smoothly all the application run..and how the new browsers functions when scroling..actually scrolling in everything is nice now. Again lack of any consistency when in the phone app on the keypad..diagonal 2 tone lines with thin blue text..i look at it and nearly vomit because my eyes cant focus...definet regression. If this is the future of android..i dont want it...Sorry guys, just wanted to speak my mind.
Edit: After using it for about a day, it's grown on me a bit, but it still needs some polishing in the theme department. I mean it's like they could make up there minds of what color trend to stick with. White and baby blue or blue gray with black. Please google, bring back some consistency. Everything else is nice. Digging the new SMS , I imagine it will look good black. can't wait for cyanogen to have a crack at it.

QFT. you're running a buggy SDK port of somehting that hasn't been released yet. and guess what?
that's what CUSTOM LAUNCHERS are for. you don't like something in android, you can CHANGE IT.
I think vanilla ICA is beautiful, but if you don't, well, go buy an HTC phone. or get ADW. i really don't care. stop hatin'. you're the minority.
Wow, you guys, its HIS opinion. If you don't agree with him, its not the end of the world. Honestly, I agree, it isn't very good looking at all. Just my 2 cents...
Agreed. It is his/her opinion and they have the right to it. And I for one agree with it. It is ugly but then I have not seen many stock android themes that weren't. As for being in the minority there I think your wrong. Look at how many custom themes there are for android. Only a small percentage stay on a stock theme.
Either way everyone has the right to what they think and should not and will not be flamed for it.
Nuff said
man, I don't know what you are on....I think the ICS theme is the nicest one so far!! Honestly, none of the stock vanilla android themes are pretty or aesthetically pleasing!! Froyo was just flat-out ass-ugly, imho!! At least they started trying to make it more intuitive and they are adding features that people are asking for....like the data monitor that can be broken down app-by-app....I love that!!! I now have unlimited data with sprint, but when I had at&t I can't count how many times I had screaming matches with customer service about my data usage!!
Like people said above....this is why apps like adw & launcher plus are around....use 'em!! They have hundreds of themes each

I'm not a fan of most of the changes either. DevBeat has an interview with Matias Duarte, where he discusses his reasoning, but I don't agree with some of it. I don't care that the phone and media apps are dark because they pop, and the Google apps are light to better match the web apps. IMO, they're all phone apps. They're installed on my phone (many of them preinstalled), they should be consistent.

Out of boredom (and a most-likely misguided sense that I know better than Google) I started redesigning everything and posting it to my blog. I'd appreciate feedback.

Well my initial response was quite negative also, but as you say, as time goes by you get used to it. Overall I believe it is quite an improvement over 2.x, and the dark themes and dark live wallpapers (eg bubbles) will look awesome on amoled screens.

[REQUEST] ICS Stock appearance

Hello everybody,
after some searching on this part of the forum I could not answer to my questions so I post it here, sorry if it's already answered somewhere, couldn't find it
The question is, I have an HTC Sensation running ARHD 6.5.4, It goes smooth but I want my icons on the notifications bar and so on to look like in my Galaxy Nexus, I love that blue instead of this ugly white color I have on the Sensation
Any simple way? I mean, found that pretty online-kitchen but those are mostly self-made icons, not the ones that come with pure android :S
If posible something that doesn't fore me to Wipe, but if imposible everything is wellcome!
Thanks for all
**EDIT** Forgot to say I'm using ADW Launcher EX with ICS theme on it (I can't live without fast desktop switching and no animation on ADW :S)

Give this a try, not sure if it is in any way what you're looking for, but it's an option.
[ICS][SKIN&MOD] Ice Cream Sense [25-3-2012][ver:5.3]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1470497
Here is a really popular theme. While installing, it'll give you the option to install Pure Android apps. So while its practically like having a pure android experience, and despite replacing some sense apps with the ICS ones, it's still Sense. So the phone functions exactly the same.
A lot of AOSP themes are in this section, I am using this one.
Now my sensation looks like a Nexus! Finally thank you all guys
Thanks!
