Just wanted to test whether the latest stock rom had multitouch enabled by default. And also whether it returns the recovery to default in case my phone ever needs to be repaired under warranty.

Hey. Just wanted to mention one thing. You don't need to format your SD Card to get it to work. All you need is to put the DLOAD folder with the UPDATE.APP in it. You can have other data on the sd card as well and it still works. People end up formatting their sd cards when most of them are already fat32, at least the main partition, so maybe you should edit that step?

You are right to some point....but i think it works only if fat32. Some people might have fat or ntfs(windows based) however ill amend the steps thanks man!

Yeah I see your point, maybe you could amend it to 'make sure your sd card is formatted to fat32' or something like that?
Edit: just seen you've already changed it. My bad.

[Safestrap]UnofficalV.2 **Safe strap is having issues please be patient**

*please hold off use of safe strap until further notice. I promise you we are hard at work on it************************************************************There is a new version at the bottom of the post. Please uninstall recovery from with in your currently installed v.1 then uninstall safestrap app. Download and install v.2 and install recovery. If you already have a safe system installed you will need to reflash the zip and wipe data/factory reset. Thanks Jim for the fix! There are now 2 different versions 1 for those not running jims webtop hack and one for those of you that are. Please download the safestrap appropriate for your setup at the bottom of the page. ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
What works?
-Everything except mounting usb in recovery.
-Cant seem to format safe system /data
Here it is!!! Our very own Unofficial safestrap recovery!
Whats this mean? Custom rom's!!! CM7 CM9 etc! And no more fxz or cwm on every boot just to save from a softbrick.
How'd we do it?
This was a pain in the A**, Jimbridgeman and myself have worked our butts off on this. We changed the recovery.fstab around so that we are able to use the sd card as a mount point to install the /system partition as well as a separate partition for /data. So in laymen's terms, were booting from the sd.
How to Install -(From Windows)
(Partition sizes are up to you but ext3 partition should be no less then 350mb and the second fat partition should be not less then 500mb)
1.Backup your sdcard
2.Format your sdcard from your phone under settings-storage
3.Put your sdcard into some kind of card reader and place into computer
4.Download, install, and open Mini Tool http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html
5. Right click on your sd card, click resize
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
6. Re size so that you have at least 850mb left "Unallocated"
7.Click OK
8.Click apply changes
9.Right click on unallocated partition and select create
10. Click Yes
11.I went with 1gb, this is the data partition, It needs to be at least 500mb and your settings must match mine. Primary,Fat32
12.Click apply changes
13.Right click on unallocated space, select create
14.Click Yes
15. This is the System partition and needs to be at least 350mb, Your settings must match mine. Ext3,Primay
16.Click on apply changes.
17.Click Yes.
18.You are all done! Should look something like this.
Now to install the safestrap
http://db.tt/y6xKucmg (V.2)
http://db.tt/RzY6VJTi (V.2-Running webtob hack)
Special thanks to jimbridgeman and hashcode. (JIM... I LOVE YOU!!!)
Head down below and click the thanks button, then head over to jimbridgeman's profile and click thanks again!
**You do not need to quick toggle safe system to wipe/format anymore in v.2**

One noob question so the safe system is on the mobile internal memory or on the SD card? If on SD card is it fast enough not to cause performance issues?

The safe system is stored to the sd card, no real performance issues.. 5500ish in antutu running cm7 for the droid 3!
And with that strap i can remove my main stock rom not just install a 2nd rom on sd card ?
Thanks alot to you and jim and hashcode for your grest work i will make sure to press the thanks button alot when i get on my pc

I'm assuming that like with the razr if you are using the bootstrap with on boot you have to remove it before installing the safe strap version?
Thank you
I knew it was only a matter of time!!!!!!
Thank you guys
A link worth sharing http://hash-of-codes.blogspot.com/p/how-to-safestrap.html , this is the original safestrap for D3 and RAZR done by hashcode , take a look at his blog to understand more about safestrap if you are a noob like me.
but there is only one question i need to understand using this hack can we install roms on the 1st system ( device memory ) or just on the 2nd system ( SD Card ) ?
This is what I have been using instead of the bootstrap, to use my custom ROMS... it will allow you to use your paid version of CWM the way it should be used. You can now go into CWM and select boot to CWM or flash from sdcard while still in android, and it will boot you into CWM and start flashing....
Thanks for all your hard work!
Jim

So essentially, this is a dual boot system of sorts? This allows me to install a custom ROM and run it in Safe mode then go back to my factory ROM by turning off Safe mode?

[MOD][HTC One SV] Swap your internal and external memory (sd card)

Here is something from our russian friends. With this mod you can swap your internal & external memory (= SD card) to get more space for example apps to install.

Don't do this, if you are not experienced enough!
This files are for flashing in recovery.

How to install:
Make a Backup over recovery!
And make a backup of your data before you try.
Download the zip file wich is for your Android version, htc_one_sv_fstab_JB.zip for JB or htc_one_sv_fstab_ICS.zip for ICS from attachment and flash it in recovery.
If you wanna go back, flash the htc_one_sv_fstab_orig_JB.zip for JB or the htc_one_sv_fstab_orig_JB.zip for ICS in recovery.
We do not need to be S-OFF , do we??
Thanks
S-OFF is not needed. Maybe the russian kernel but you can try it first without.
is the data gonna be moved to the new location automagicly?
Mine was empty, so i can not say. I copied all to my PC to get sure to keep all data.
Make a backup before you try.

I looked into the zip and it probably wont do that.
Code:
dev_mount sdcard2 /storage/sdcard0/ext_sd emmc /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.1/mmc_host
dev_mount sdcard /storage/sdcard0 auto /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.3/mmc_host
thats whats in there.
so probably the way to go, i think, is to copy all the stuff from /storage/sdcard0 to /storage/sdcard0/ext_sd before flashing.
Or copy to pc and back afterwards.
Hi.
I translated this tuto on a french forum, and someone tried it with ICS, it's possible that it doesn't work... Anyone still on ICS here who could try it ?
On JB, no problem though.

And also as you know this mod is from another forum where it was downloaded. many times. I think, if it were faulty they had removed it.

You can try. Stock files are the same.
Backup everything.
But i would change them manually, cause i don't know, if it flashes on the right partition for boost.
Edit:
Should also be flashable for you.
I'm a little scared I might brick my new jb install ..I should get the new working cwm installed first.

If you don't wanna flash:
First backup your data. Then you can copy the modded vold.fstab to a folder above and set the correct permission like the stock file has. Now copy it, go into the etc folder, rename the old file to vold.fstab.bak and copy immediately the modded one into the etc folder.
Then reboot and see whats happened.
Memory
Is it possible to repartition internal and external memory? I mean join external memory with internal and make sdcard as external memory?
Yep, just read what's after "if you wanna go back" in the 1st post.

[Solved] Baseband and IMEI unknown / Baseband unchangeable

For reasons unknown after flashing a Rom your Baseband and IMEI might show 'Unknown',
flashing stock firmware will bring you back your Baseband and RIL will work perfectly
but the Baseband is now unchangeable (not to everyone but this is what happened to me).
The Baseband is associated with the modemfs folder which is on the root of your phone.
To fix this you'll need a file manager app like Root Explorer, ES File Explorer etc.
Here's the steps:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
1.Go to the root of your phone Mount R/W and open modemfs.
2.Select everything and delete.
3.Extract the modemfs.zip that you downloaded from below.
4.Select everything in the extracted folder and copy it.
5.Go to the modemfs on the root of your phone and paste everything you copied.
6.Change every folder's permissions like shown on the picture above.
7.Change the permissions of GUARDFIL and trace_auto.conf like shown on the picture above.
8.Restart your phone.
Now you're done, your Baseband should be changeable and you should be able to flash any rom you want!
The modemfs.zip I uploaded should only work with GT-I9070 not GT-I9070P.

@M0shi Thank a lot. Your trick is awesome.
I was experimenting with various android OS. Unfortunately I formatted my modemfs partition. I thought my cell phone was dead. Even, went to service center, they asked to replace the motherboard.
After 10 days of search and experiment I ended up reading your article. It worked like charm and my cell is back to life. Wish I could by a drink for you. Once again thanks a lot.
When I'm trying to delete the files located in modemfs my phone reboots. After reboot the files are still here.

Hi HuNnEy, this section of the forum is for the htc hd2.
It seems that the thread that you posted on first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2693049 is the relevant one. first you need to gain root and install recovery (post 7), then download and put the s5 theme on your sdcard, and install it using the cwm recovery.

Then boot into recovery

After you installed the theme, it booted to android ok? I assume so from your post before, which mentioned gallery wasn't working. What else wasn't working? Did you do anything between installing the zip and the problem occurring? Please give as much information as possible. I think the sdcard may be going bad, as I mentioned before, and as recovery seemed to report. Can you remove it?
Did you make a backup?
I do not have your phone, so I don't know how it works or how it boots.

Do you think I should try to zip SDcardasDefault? Right now, I reflash it again, and just install the rom and the dolby.
Okay, thank you!
@rejul, Yes, i did. Okey, this's the new situation, Rej. I follow what you did with, flash SDdefault.zip. (before that, I did copy my IMEI to sd_eksternal.) And I restore it with mobileUncleTools, it's work! My phone able to recieved call now. At least. But the problem still exist. Where's my "real" internal phone storage? I can't see it anywhere. It's not mounted. I have a limited space right now.
Is there any specific setting that should we set when install it from recovery? Or maybe there's a way to mount internal storage? Have you tried to just install the CM12 without SDdefault.zip? (I can't reply your PM, the message just vanish without sent sign at all)
Thanks!

use chamelephone, you can download it on playstore. it will generate new imie for you or you can input your original imie. this is only temporary fix, it will erase your imie again everytime you flash new rom.
Phone storage not showing up
I got the same storage issue. I used the SDCARD DEFAULT but the phone storage is not showing up. Do I need to reflash stock and flash this again?
Also, can we do system update OTA?

#BugReport
 @rejul and guys, I found this problem about emulated internal storage (sdcard0 is missing). But I still doesn't know how to fix it. CM 12.1 basically create it's own "0" folder everytime it install. And that makes TWRP "sdcard" read this emulated folder and considering it as "internal storage" because it's labelled as "0" folder. That's why the real internal storage are hidden and become emulated. And no matter how many times we reinstall it. It's still same.
I might be wrong. Do anyone realize this? Some solution I have found, somebody suggested to format the Internal Storage, but I'm not sure. Because I think the problem it's not in the internal storage, but in the way CM 12.1 install it self.
