Thinking about making the jump from Captivate - Thunderbolt General

Anyone else done this and if so...happy, regrets, etc

Never been happier. This might have the best development community once we get a kernel source code

Cool. I hang out out in the Cappy dev section so very famaliar and comfortable with rooting and roms

I used to have a Captivate. This phone is a million times better; not just because the GPS works either.

I just came from the Vibrant, and my father came from ATT. Phone wise, the tbolt will make you hate those flaws you've been dealing with spoons much more. It's HTC, so great dev support is almost guaranteed, and the phone is fast.
Cons: the tbolt is huge and thick. Bigger screen, which is nice, but much more bulky. Also, I'm sure it's coming, I really miss swipe.
Network, here in east tn, Verizon is better, but not much.

Hey mods can we get a forum for this phone please?
You will have better luck Pm'ing the Admin

Picked up my Infuse today, holy crap is it nasty!
So far compared to Inspire:
Sound - Much clearer and louder
Screen - ... WOW, not even comparable. The extra size is nice but nothing compared to the beauty of this screen
Signal - Better everywhere so far. My real test is at work tomorrow
Size - While the screen is big, it is SO thin, and Amazingly light!
This phone is fantastic so far, I couldn't be happier.
Can't wait for XDA Section
P.s. where do you get drivers for the phone?
Yeaaa! I love mine.

Another thing I found that works with it being rooted is audioboost.
Just thought I'd throw it out there.

I can't believe that a phone that is of this caliber doesn't have blutooth voice dial.

I bought the Atrix the day it came out. I also just bought the Infuse yesterday. The Atrix went on ebay and sold. And its better that way. Even though the specs on the Atrix are better, in my opinion its not better then the Infuse. And I dont have to even discuss why lol
Infuse 4G forum coming this week!
I bought my infuse on Friday and glad I did, I was using the inspire before that.

Still on first. Maybe I became too critical when I saw news that the G2x had problems I just became overcritical of the device. Problems did start when I rooted the device
Stable on CM7 only thing is the phone freezes while charging overnight. And email syncs still hang after 8 hours.
I will swap when LG releases the fix. No point in doing it now. Never getting an LG again. Will wait for the next quad core phone. **** LG
But... this is a fast and awesome phone, bugs and all.
I'm on my first G2x, and I see no reason to exchange mine.

Is it worth it?

Is it worth trading my galaxy s 4g for a nexus s?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
It's a pretty even bet too me, but i don't pay attention to phone prices and other content, but I've always wanted a nexus phone, lol. They seem so pure and have alot of development for them. But I'll say what i say to every other person with a question relating to yours, it's up to you.
Sorry if i didn't help and just wasted your time.

I moved to a Nexus S a little over a month ago from the Galaxy S 4G and to me it was a great move. ROM development is definitely a good plus. I found it to be snappier than the Galaxy S 4G.
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
I think the only downside is the loss of 4g data speed. Other than that the nexus s is a better bet. Plus it is getting ics. I would go for it. If you don't like it I am sure you will find someone willing to trade again for it.

[Q] Skyrocket or Nexus

I currently have the skyrocket but have a chance to get the Samsung galaxy nexus. I live in Oregon so no LTE. I need a second opinion which is better for games picture taking and mainly overall performance. Would really love some input I'm stuck in between.
Nexus
Skyrocket has better hardware. Camera is better. Processor is better. Screen is bigger. We have aosp. Shall I say more?

Gnex camera is bad apparently.
Both phones are powerful, very very powerful. If you're comfortable rooting it honestly doesn't make much of a difference and I'd go with the Skyrocket since out of three things you mention picture is one of them and I've heard complaints about Gnex camera.
Without the LTE its a bit disappointing though. In all honesty you're choosing between two high end android devices, you'll be perfectly satisfied with either. Given the fact you're on XDA you must be some what of a techie, so maybe GNex is your best bet. Try out the camera first though
Yep there is a white nexus.. its not on Google's site idk y. But tried camera and love it so far thinks its better then skyrocket to be honest I couldn't get good pics with SR

Yeah. It has a glossy finish which is why I prefer the titanium one.
Really depends on what your priority is. If you're in an LTE market, Skyrocket seems to be a better choice. As a SR owner I'm considering selling and moving to a Nexus. If you need your phone unlocked than consider a plus for Nexus since you'll save $20 there. As others have mentioned look into the camera, I however use mine once a month if that.
I guess biggest part is how much Dev support you need. Nexus will keep you flashing everyday of you so choose. SR options are a bit limited but those who have worked on it have done a fantastic job.

I compared my skyrocket to my friends gnex and although the gnex screen looks better I would personally stick with the Skyrocket mainly because of the build quality. It just feels better in hand. Other than that, the gnex has an awesome community and more stable asop stuff.

what!? ive been thinking about switching to Nexus since yesterday. Holy Crapple Crap!
How is it skyrockets screen is bigger? its 4.5 vs 4.65 Nexus. And nexus has 720p screen when skys is only 480p. LTe isnt important too me.. yes its super fast internet but i never found it useful. I mean if i had unlimited plan then Lte sure is nice but i have 300mb data and i find it enough for emails a couple pics and web. I used to have unlimited with ipoop 3G but my monthly usage was around 250mbs.
Does anybody knows if nexus front facing camera has auto focus?

I frickin LOVE the one x

I've had the one x for 3 months... And I haven't even rooted or anything ( unfortunately I'm on 2.20 ow and can't) but even so... I love this phone so much. I've been a diehard Android fan since the beginning (nexus one) and have always been in love... I have had the top of line phones since then, and until now, there's always been something missing.
Now, it performs exactly how I want to. Super fast, snappy, and never a hiccup. Not to mention I ALWAYS get through the day with charge and some left to spare. It phenomenal and the screen is gorgeous! I honestly can't think of a device that is more perfect! (Except maybe if I had jelly bean)
I don't even know the purpose of this thread I've created! Other than I want to rant about how awesome this phone is. Period. I'm done

Go away, your in a forum of one x owners and your pissing on our device. We don't care that you don't like our phone. And if you can't have a constructive debate on why you don't like it instead using childish remarks like "this phone isn't that great" and "whatever" then you need to just gtfo

All trolls..
My coworker and I switched phones for two days. He got my one xl and I got his s3. After using the s3 I didn't see anything that blew my mind. The screen was really disappointing after using the one x and it didn't seem any faster. Battery life was ok with the stock battery but didn't seem any better than the one x. Maybe it was just bad observation, but I think the one x actually got better battery life, at least using it for what I was. More of a portable computer than a phone. I text more than I call.
The one thing that drove me crazy was that physical home button. I don't know why they did that. Soft keys or even onscreen keys work such better in my opinion.
Funny thing was that after we switched phones back, he turned his screen on and said, "I am going to miss that screen. It's amazing."
All I all they are pretty close to each other, but if you spend a lot of time staring at the screen of your phone like I do then the one x is the better phone for you.

I'm working in a Tele2 shop in my home town (mobile provider) and I've tested both phones. Both are high end phons an both have pros and cons. It's just a mater of opinion, and personal taste. I have the one and I'm really into it,feels better in my hand, better screen in my opinion and does not give the feel of plastic in my hand. So every one should buy what is good for them regardles of what other peopla say.
