[Q] Is my HTC TD2 is broken? - General Questions and Answers

I just dropped my phone yesterday once and it was ok, put the battery and the lid back on, boots up everythings fine, but in the next 8 hours, I can see black dots on my screen and they are like mostly on the right side of the screen scattered all around.
Also Ive googled the problem and many people say its the digitizer, do I have to buy new digitizer now?

I belive the problem is the Lcd not the digitizer, after all the digitizer is flexible plastic with with very thin wires.
The best way is to get the complete package ,lcd and digitizer, normally you can find them in ebay.

Thank you, im gonna go and search for them in eBay and replace them

But be carefull ,dont just buy any any screen! Apparently there is diferent screen models across the model, make sure you know the part number currently installed in your device .
I had the same problem with my Hermes, had to remove the broken screen to make sure i ordered the rigth one at the time there where 3 diferent screens for my device model but only one woud work.

Read this,it should help you,

Thank you!

Something weird happened, I turned off the phone, took out the battery, went to sleep for 9 hours. In the morning ive put the battery back on and turned phone on and ALOT of dots have disappeared. What could have caused that?

It sounds like the liquid matrix got displaced when you dropped the device, and now it stabilized itself.
Gravity is an amazing thing
Very good news

Helppppp! My phones screens colors are faded/ inverted...

My phone isnt broken, it still operates but my screens colors are gone... id hope there is something i can do other than a warranty exchange because i have hard spl'ed my phone and this is just a huge mess! =( please help! I didnt drop it in water or drop it at all, it was in my pocket, i took it out... and now everything looks faded and washed out =( it slowly looks like its coming back, but i dont think itll ever be the same =(
I'm no expert, take out the battery and SIM card..blow on the phone, go to McDonalds, grab a 5 piece Nugget and some BBQ sauce...eat the McNuggets and then put the battery back in along with the SIM...charge the battery to 100% and turn it on and see what happens.
Sounds like an LCD issue. Can you post a picture? Unfortunately, every white screen washout I've seen has ended with a return.
See this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332236
Out of the three, two needed to be replaced. There may be some hope with removing the battery though, but the guy that had the luck left it out over a whole vacation.
It's better to return if still under warranty
I have similar problem with HTC 8125... i know you have a Tilt. my suggestion is to return it if it's under warranty. you can reverse back to the original settings. just check out other posts.
same problem
has anyone figured out how to solve this problem? i have the same issue with my htc tilt. however, the screen toggles between the "washed out" screen and the normal beautiful screen. i have dismantled the device several times using Mike's instructions, but i cant figure out which connectors are out of place please please help me out. i can't afford another screen/phone right now

ohh sucks..yeah i got my 8125 off ebay and it crapped out on me like 4months later....tried to replaced screen and nothing...
i guess your only option would be to try and get a new screen or something
Washed out screen
I got the same problem took it to AT&T and replaced it. But what worries me now is that I have changed my mobile 3 times already and this is the fourth one. Every time it was a different issue. I wonder once I run out of warranty, which happens towards the end of this year then what? I wish there is some other option of extended warranty or anything that can be taken now.
Fix the screen. Here is directions on how to accomplish that: http://www.mindsofwisemen.com/fileso/other/ReplacingTheLCDonaKaiser.pdf

Screen Problem

Hi,
My phone has a problem, i hope someone can help me, it started about a month ago,
When i slide the keyboard the screen would freeze, the image would freeze or sometimes it would become like this:
http://www.esato.com/board/img.php?id=140762 ( this is not my phone its just a pic i found)
This problem would be solved it i gently slide the keyboard back in, the screen would be back to normal, sometimes i had to slide it out and it
alot of time to make it work.
Well, today i woke up, with the screen of my phone all messed up ( like in the picture), i slide it out and in alot of times but no luck.
I turned my phone off, when i turned it on, the screen doesnt lighted up or showed something, the phone just vibrates, i took off the battery and tried again but no luck.
I read somewhere that i could be the flex cable, so i ordered one, but its gonna take some time to arrive.
Anyone had this problem before that can help me?
I didn't encounter such problems on MT4GS yet. But being a slider phone enthusiast I could 100% say it's a flex cable thing since I encountered that problem more than a dozen times already on other phones(nokia).

I would strongly recommend that you get a cable with the speaker already soldered in place....
+1 to that, get as much pre assembled as possible, this is about the most pain in the butt phone I've ever had the pleasure to disassemble. Read the last few posts here!

Yup. That one has the speaker, it's the black bar at the top with the silver sticker.

thanks for this bit of advice.
Disassembling the front of the phone is a pain. I'm a fan of spending $40 on ebay on a broken phone (where the screen still works just fine) and swapping out the fronts. That will get you a new flex cable as well. Otherwise, you risk having to get a new flex cable *and* a new LCD.
Agreed. First time disassembling front I was scared not to OVERheat phone internals. I ripped in half trackpad ribbon, damaged lcd back cover and got a lot of problems from it.
Then I bought broken phone with good front, but dead LCD. Second time I just lost it, I heated phone so hard that I got burns on my fingers, but it was worth it, LCD glue came off soo nice.
So better to overheat, then underheat when disassembling front LCD.

replace entire screen

Im trying to replace the lcd (the whole front panel) on a surface pro 1, and have run into an issue. Its for a friend of mine and it was presented to me with the old front panel removed and the new one kinda slapped in there, Im wondering if anyone has a link to a repair guide for it. Ice done many screens before and it kinda seems like its dead. I have all of the ribbon cables connected and none of them look pinched or damaged. Any help/thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

well, the original one was, but the replacement isnt. The person who started the project took the old screen off and replaced it with an entirely new one but couldnt get it to come on, so he gave it to me to work on. Ive connected all the ribbon cables and tried rebooting it, but it wont come on. Is there a way of force rebooting it like there is in android? Ive tried holding the power button down for over 30 seconds and it didnt do anything.

I'm not sure honestly.
I also have a Surface Pro 1 with a cracked screen and would like to replace it.
The cheapest way is to only replace the glass with digitizer http://www.aliexpress.com/item/For-...-Glass-Replacement-Parts-1pc/32368476632.html
I know replacing the whole LCD combo is easier, but is this still doable? For example with this http://www.aliexpress.com/item/100m...ine-to-Splite-Glass-Lens-for/32245814109.html or these http://www.aliexpress.com/item/5ml-...for-Cellphone-Glass-Lens-LCD/32479129528.html tools
Or should I use just use the complete set: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free..._78_77_80,searchweb201644_5,searchweb201560_9
And is this the right set to buy when you want to fix a cracked screen on a SP1 128GB

Bad motherboard or ?

I bought my brother a second-hand M8. It had a cracked screen but it was really cheap. I put the new screen in and a new SIM card reader. Everything worked fine for months and out of the blue the screen stopped responding to touch. Everything else worked fine as far as I could tell. Even in TWRP touch was gone so I figured maybe it was a cheap screen or something like that. I took it apart and the backlight was falling apart. Ordered a new screen that had the frame with it to save time on reassembly and because the old one was a little tweaked. Same problem, ran the RUU from Windows, ran different RUU's from several threads via Fastboot. Ran the latest firmware package on Santods thread and still nothing. It has to be the motherboard at this point right? The display and digitizer cables go right into the motherboard and the only cable that looks replaceable goes up int the daughter board with the cameras and top speaker assembly. Am I missing something or should I just scrap this mess?

Screen replacement help

Hi guys,
so i recently broke the screen of my OPO
I bought a screen replacement with frame on ebay.
I tried to replace it myself, one thing i did bad was brake the antenna but i bought a new one
So the screen that i bought worked fine it booted up and touch was working etc. However, when my new antenna came i opened it back up and to put the antenna in.
and now when i boot up the phone the display doesnt work, the lights are powered on at the bottom but the display is black.
I tried disconnecting and reconnecting things and at one point the screen came back but went away again.
So i tried reconnecting each thing one by one and testing the screen as i go a long and the screen was working at a few points but even half assembled the screen doesn't display anything but it is powered on,
