The Viewsonic 10 inch "G-Tablet" discussed in the link below ($349 from Sears) has the Nividia dual core 1ghz Tegra 2 processor. It sounds like it has pretty decent hardware but lacking in software due to not being an official Google product and having a poor performing UI.
http://androidandme.com/2010/11/tabl...sears-for-379/
Viewsonic G-Tablet specs include:
NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual ARM cortex (1Ghz)
Capacitive Multi-Touch/Multi Tasking panel
10.1” 1024 X 600 TFI LCD Screen
512 MB RAM, Mass Memory 16 GB
Mini USB x 1; Full size USB x 1
1.3MP Front –Facing Webcam
Earphone x 1
Micro SD card slot
2 x 1 W speaker
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
G sensor/Light sensor
Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
3500mAh/7.4V Li-polymer Battery Life 8-10 Hours
Slim design (267 x 173 x 14.3mm) Wt. 820 Grams
Buttons: Home/Back/Menu/Volume/Power
OS / Android 2.2
Headphone Jack
Built in Microphone
"Original information out of Viewsonic said this device would cost over $500, but Sears is selling a WiFi-only version that lacks the sim-card slot of the more expensive model. Some overseas models were also reported to include 1 GB of RAM, but the Sears unit is shipping with 512 MB RAM."
"The good news is that this tablet comes with Android 2.2, but that might be there the fun ends. This tablet was not certified by Google so it lacks all the Google Mobile Services including the official Android Market. Thankfully you can still sideload apps and alternative markets like SlideME."
You can buy the "G-tablet" here: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...1&blockType=G1 Use the zoom feature on the picture to get a really good close up of the device buttons and LEDs etc. I like the clean and simple look. Three buttons is nice too and the Wifi only will work perfectly with a tethering Nexus One. At $380 it is ~$120 cheaper than the equivalent iPad.
I think this would be a good candidate for dev support to take advantage of the hardware to root and optimize for 10" display. If developers are interested in rocking this device I am definitely picking one up.
Do you think developers would work with this device?
Had a Netto flyer come through the door tonight, they're doing a 7" Android tablet for £99.99
It's a resistive screen though.
600MHz CPU and DSP
4GB storage
128MB RAM
640x480 webcam
mini HDMI out
MicroSD slot
Wifi b/g
mini USB 2 port
Protective case with built in keyboard.
Wow, is there any imagery for it?
It was in a Sale leaflet that came through the door, most likely sold out by now.
I am trying to choose between these two tablets. The A81E is an earlier unit with GPS, but no G-Sensor. It is a private sale but seller says it has been barely used.
MID7015 = $180 after tax
A81E = $150 no tax
From my perspective, the biggest pros for the A81E would be Android 2.2, Cortex A8, replaceable battery.
The Coby MID7015 is TC8902 based with Android 2.1, G-Sensor, HDMI output
What do you think?
The MID 7015 is available for $148 on Amazon, and $150 at Walmart. I would recommend the Coby Kyros MID-7015.

Hi,
I have checked the overall specification of these tablets. I’m impressed by “Coby MID7015”. It has 4GB built-in memory and you can upgrade it. G-sensor is also a good feature in this tablet. The other features are almost same in both tablets.
It appears that Tigerdirect is now selling he GTablet. The specs indicate that it might be a different processor than the one that OfficeDepot sold me.
1 GHz Dual ARM Cortex-A9 processor is what the Tiger direct is posting which is different from Tegra 2
Same processor
That is the exact same processor! Read on a little further....

Based on NVidia's site it looks like the Tegra 2 and the 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 Processor advertised by TigerDirect are actually the same.
I cant post the link, but you get the idea
www dot nvidia dot com/object/tegra-2.html
That's it.
That's definitely it.
What would be the difference? And, when did you buy from OD? I got mine from them and it is the exact same specs.
Ummmm
It's exactly the same thing......
Bought mine from tigerdirect yesterday and should arrive by the 22nd.
Can't wait to play around with it. Have been reading the forums since to figure out the best way to get started when it arrives.
I bought mine first day or two of december, the tiger direct ad said single core and I remembered mine saying dual core, sorry to confuse the issue
For any other Canadians looking for a GTablet, here is the TigerDirect.ca link:
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=7212231
At the time of this posting, prices was $399 Canadian.
It is definitely the Viewsonic GTablet - a friend bought one right after I sent him the link and he has it already!
Damn. With a good marketing strategy, the Gtablet would kick ass here in mexico. Many people cant afford ipad, even less xoom and the others.

good find
Talk about another mini firesale waiting to happen.
Looks like interesting device.....Do you now any un-crackable????? All device may be crackable, but what's about time of this crack?
i wonder why there are less interested in the BB play book, as it is just as good as the HP touchpad
just because it's $199 vs $99 ?
playbook would be awesome with android
I'm guessing that by this time next year most 7" tablets will have settled somewhere between $199 and $299 in price. Kinda ridiculous to pay $500 for a tablet in this economic downturn when for the same $500 one can buy a decent laptop. A 7" 16GB wi-fi only tablet, running the latest version of android, and easy to root, for a price of $250 would sell VERY well. Not to mention that it would get lots of dev support for custom ROMs and such. One can dream...
