Still no accessories for Gtab, but many for zoom. Also on the new tablet front, a 7 inch from HTC, new dual core 8.9 and 10.1 from Samsung, and super tegra 2 from LG with on board 3D! Played with all of them, but other than HDMI, little if any expandabiity or ports.

if it doesn't run Android, i don't want it
I need a new laptop anyways. :3
Depends on the pricing of the 14" though. If it's over $1200, i'm not going for it. xP
I bought a Samsung laptop two years ago. It still running perfectly but one of the RAM slots broke after about 8 month. So be warned.

Hi there!
I'm currently in the hunt for an Android Honeycomb 3.1/3.2 tablet. and i'm choosing between Samsung's new Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus (which has the Mali 400MP GPU) and the Sony Tablet S (with its own Geforce by Nvidia Tegra 2.) both has a dual core processor although Samsung has the new Exynos 1.2GHz processor.
Based on the initial tech specs i've seen online the Samsung has a supposedly mind-altering 20 hours battery life while Sony has only 6 hours max. advertised.
But, does a processor speed or the graphics card always determines a device's overall performance, responsiveness & battery life? ( i'll be mainly surfing the net, watch Youtube videos, facebook, twitter, viewing .pdf or .doc files, odd photos & uploading them, listening to music, playing games, using DLNA to watch movies to my TV)
I'm trying to aim for anything below 10" screen size, with an SD/microSD card slot, dual speakers and GBP400 max budget.
Thank you.
id go with prime, thinnest, lighest, and 4 core. toshiba is coming out with some nice ones but not sure about specs. between the 2 you've said it depends on you preferances/requirements. one is 7 inch and one is 10 inch. one has a big ass bunp and a ir blaster, the other doesn't, it seems like your not sure what your looking for
I'm looking for something at least 7" and not more than 10". i thought a 10" one is big (because of the things i'll be mostly be doing with it) so anything in-between is almost perfect.
I've got some choices in mind. two of them not officially released yet in the UK namely the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus and the Tab 7.7. on the other hand the iPad 2 vs the Sony Tablet S.
My problem with the iPad 2 are several. namely the inability to send any files via bluetooth, lack of SD/microSD card support, a single mono speaker, a lacklustre front-facing & rear-facing camera amongst others.
My problem with Sony Tablet S are tiny/not-so-loud speakers, lack of Playstation games (even after roughly 4 months of being released and has a PS-certification why not enough games are coming out???) and that's it.
I want to weigh and balance all of them but...i don't know which to choose?
All of them are within my bidget but shall i wait for the iPad 3? shall i invest on the Exynos-powered Galaxy Tabs or jump in to the all-entertainment, all-dancing Sony tablet?
I want to buy something before the last week of march so i can bring it with me during my holiday.
please help....
Hi,
i'm thinking about buying a Vega clone with 3G. At the moment i have a cheap 99bucks 7" tablet with ICS, 512mb ram and 1,2Ghz Cortex A8 cpu. The speed is ok, actually it's enough for me, but the screen is just too small and the resolution is crappy (800x480). 3G with an external dongel is annoying to. So I looked around on ebay and found new Vega Clones with 3G for 140€. How fast is it? Faster than my actual device? My actuall device (Odys neo x7) doens't has root at the moment, of course I'll use roms for the Vega.
Can I compare the speed of the Vega with my girlfriends classic Desire?
Thanks in advance
You mean the advent vega? Cause i had one and that screen is horrible...id invest in one of the chinese tablets with ics and an ips screen.. Id check out the ainol novo 7 aurora 2, allthough thats 7 inch. But there are enough 10" ones with ips, dual core and 4.0 for around the pricepoint of the vega. You can find them on sites like gadgetgreats.com etc

Hi,
I'm a little bit torn between these two devices. One of the carriers from my country is offering the Mediapad at around $440 while the GTab2 goes for around $560.
Am looking for something small and portable. Mostly for browsing the internet, reading ebooks and pdfs. Am a college student so I also want to be able to edit word documents and simple excel sheets.
The mediapad and the Gtab2 have quite similar specs, save for the fact that the HMP has a morr premium feel and a higher screen resolution. However, I want to recieve future OS updates and am not quite sure whether Huawei will deliver them. Well, Samsung might not but by the looks of things, the GTAb2 has a larger developer base which i believe is willing to take things into its own hands!!
Am not much of a gaming person. Gigahertz and benchmark readings have never excited me that much. Am only looking for solid and consistent performance.
Hope anyone can help.
Thanks.
in my country Gtab2 7" only cost about $370 - $390 USD
the 10" inch is more expensive than the 7 inch
and the Gtab 7" plus is about $560.
So in term of hardware specs the Gtab2 7" is very different than Gtab 7" Plus.
the Huawei mediapad have better GPU Adreno 220, rather than Gtab2 (Powervr sgx540 GPU).
and the Gtab 7" Plus have Mali-400MP4 GPU
Mali-400MP4 > Adreno220 > PowerVR SGX540
but the "Huawei" brand is not convincing as Samsung, it's up to you to gamble on these 2 products
I suggest to buy Galaxy Tab 7 Plus ($550), but if you want to save money, you should buy Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (only cost about $390)

Thanks for your suggestion. I'll go to the shop toorrow to give both a try bfore I make up my mind. If I may ask, are you happy with your Galaxy Tab 2? Sorry for all the questions, am a poor college kid and I cant afford to burn my fingers again as I did with my earlier purchase of the Blackberry Playbook.

Sure, I'm very happy with my new Galaxy tab 2 7.0 (Android 4.04 update, & force GPU rendering on settings > developer options).
browsing, email, reading e-newspaper has never been easier with 7" inch screen. Gtab2 7.0 is awesome, it's fast too!
it's more cheaper than other tablet, & with ram 1GB you can run ICS/JellyBean on it (device with only 512MB will struggle to run ICS/JB)
Btw, I'm new mobile game developer, and I choose Gtab2 without any doubt to develop my game on Gtab2.
If you wan't smoother experience when running google maps 3D, or twitter app, etc.. then you should go for Huawei mediapad (Adreno 220), because I've tried Adreno 220 on HTC Sensation and it's blazingly fast without any lags at all.
All I can say is Samsung Gtab2 build quality is perfect.
The only problem with Huawei is the brand itself & I'm not really sure about the build quality of their products.
Because I've seen cheap Huawei phones (about $20) but with poor build quality (the keypad button is hard to press).
While the cheapest Samsung phone (about $20-30, I get this for free when buying Gtab2 in my country) the keypad button is perfect, similar experiece when using Nokia phones with very good keypad
Please note that Gtab2 7.0 price is about $360-390 USD.
Don't get fooled by distributor, if they sell Gtab2 7.0 at $560, then you should go for Huawei
