Get your free Angry Birds Rio!(for a limited time) I have it and the graphics, well the background and birds seem more refined in this version. I installed it on my N1 without much problems. You have to have an Amazon account and have one click enabled.
The Amazon Market seems to be giving away an app free each day for now.
You need to install the Amazon Market app to begin with. But IMO is well worth the free d/l.

what gives? anyone else having the regular market issue?

It's just like Robo Defense.

it is and it isn't. FR was THE tower defense game when it originally came out on the iOS platform YEARS ago.. some of us to played it then will be glad to have it on android. I think it has a bit more UI polish that robo defense (which itself is a great game) and robo defense has a leg up with more features (points to buy upgrades increases replayability) but the combo of eye candy + simplicity is a potent mix. I think they're both great.
So here's a question, is anyone else having issues installing it? It DLed fine and I have several other apps from the Amazon app store on my phone, all w/o issue. And just to verify, I did use a wifi connection (which wouldn't be an issue anyway, because that's only required to DL.)
So I've getting a lot of my Apps from the Android App store and I noticed they are way behind on versions and barely get updates. Just looking at the 15 programs I've download, at least 7 of them have newer versions on the Google Android App store.
If you mean that the Amazon Appstore versions barely, if ever, get updates, I'm with ya.
Been waiting for Wave Launcher to update in the appstore for forever. Its updated twice in the Market since I got it. Then I went and checked today and its no longer available through the appstore...
I've written to Amazon about a different app (X Construction), and surprisingly it updated the very next day. I may have to write again.

Is there a way to backup my free and paid apps from the Android Market onto my Mac?
Also can this be done without rooting the Xoom?
The reason that I ask is that I recently purchased a xoom, and some of the apps that I had previously paid for on my Nexus were no longer on the Android Market. I also snagged a $99 Touchpad and was hoping to return the Xoom before my return window is up and wait for Android to be released on the Touchpad since a $99 Android tablet would be a great deal. During this time I don't want any more of the apps I paid for to be removed from the Android market.
I would love to be able to backup my apps off of the Xoom, return it, wait for Android on the Touchpad, and then reinstall the apps from my Mac.
Thanks

That's a pretty awesome deal you got there! I was hoping to snag a 16gb Touchpad for $99, but I was a day too late. Once the devs get Android ported over to this thing... man. That's pretty neat. Although I love the Xoom and would never trade it out (unless it is the Xoom 2), having a second tablet would be fun.
Now... to your question: The best way to accomplish this without obtaining root access would be to use the app called MyBackup. It has a free 30 day trial, so I would imagine that you would just use that to backup your apps. Because there would be no need to purchase the full version for what you are looking to do... well, unless you could have a use for the app in the future.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll give that app a look and see if it'll work for me. Thanks.

No problem. It should be what you need. You can backup all of your apps to either your SD card, or their cloud storage servers for future use. It's a win-win.
Is there anything that allows you to back up paid/protected apps?
The main thing I am concerned about is my emulators since I had purchased Nesoid before on my phone and then when I bought my Xoom it was no longer available on the market.
I purchased another emulator for my xoom, I'm just afraid if it takes a bit for Android to come to the Touchpad that there may not be any emulators on the app store.
This was one of the main reasons I wanted an android tablet since it's great to be able to connect the wiimote via bluetooth and play some of my old games.

I was pretty sure that it would back up all apps, paid ones included. It's the best app backup manager on the market that does not require root access. Possibly you can try Astro File Manager, as it also has a built in backup app manager. Not sure if it backs up paid and protected apps though. Worth a shot.
But, having root access may be the best and only way to grab both paid and protected apps. Titanium Backup kills all other app backup managers, hands down. It's the rooting swiss army knife for sure, and is highly recommended. I use it all the time. Works like a charm.
And I hear ya about the emulators. They were a few bucks each, as I have some of them. Plus I loves me some old school gaming on my Xoom.
As the title says, Earth And Legend is on sale for a limited time in the app store. I didn't see this topic yet and the reviews for it look outstanding. Looks like a lot of game for $3. Downloading it now, I'll post later with my impressions.

I got it the day it came out.
The game's actually a very generic grind-festy mess that falsely boasts itself as the mobile equivalent of Elder Scrolls.
It comes with a 60MB data install that comes directly from your phone storage instead of using the sd card (even with all the adb tricks, it still sucks 47.40MB off your phone), they straight-up backed out on their word about making it work with Xperia PLAY's analog touch-pads and then stopped responding to their fanbase as soon as the issue was brought up.
Oh and BTW, the only reason it has so many 5-stars is because they bribe you to give it 5 stars with free coins, and won't stop slapping you in the face with the prompt window until you agree to it.
