I rooted my htc aria 2.1 and recently updated my ROM to FROYO 2.2, Do i need to Root the phone again and what are the advantages of rooting? Thanks

If i upgrade my htc legend (not rooted) from android 2.1 to 2.2 via the official vodafone release, will i still be able to root the android 2.2 htc legend so that i can install custom roms?

Yes. The usual one click methods used for rooting 2.1 seem to work fine for 2.2. The updated 2.2.1 is more picky but most people are finding the SuperOneClick root works for them.
