Don't know if anyone else has experienced this but I installed MIUI and since then when my backlight dims before going off the screen gets a green tint over it even after flashing axura and netarchy 1.3
Any ideas?

This happens when you don't use the TV off effect and only when you set the gamma levels in the voodoo control app to something other than the 2.3.3 default which is kind of annoying. Either reset the gamma levels in the voodoo control suite to 2.3.3 default or use the TV off effect.

Worked for me. One addition is that you can turn off all animations in spare parts but leave screen off TV animation in CMSetting on and you will have no screen off animation and the green screen issue is still gone.
Thanks for both of your replies, I always have the screen off animation on - it's one of those little things I love about this phone.
I found out what the cause was though - certain settings in Voodoo Gamma hack result in this happening, I just increased the green slider a bit and the problem was gone.

I'm sure everyone has by now seen the cool animation that Gingerbread uses when the screen is turned off. What if the same animation was played in reverse when turning the screen on? Is such a thing even possible? To me it does seem a bit strange that this animation is only played when turning the screen off, because real CRT's used to do the same thing both when turning on and turning off.
If it is possible, I'd love to see it implemented. Further on down the line as an added bonus, I also think it'd be cool to replace the animation for launching or closing an app with a CRT style flicker, similar to what happened when you changed the channel on an old TV.
Edit: Looks like most custom ROMs are already way ahead of me for the screen on animation. Good work!
This is on CM7...
(except its really not as good as you'd think)

LeoGinger v0.8.4 has this implemented for both screen OFF and screen ON animations. Here is the link for ROM if you want to flash it and check it out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10518585&postcount=1
Okay, that's cool that CM7 has it. What about other CRT style animations for the transitions? Something similar to the Pip Boy 3000 from Fallout 3 would be awesome.

I think he/she meant lies in that it is cool, as in so cool he turned the screen on and off repeatedly to watch it.

For those looking to have further adjustment to lower screen brightness values even lower and even adjust the color tones somewhat, I discovered a new free app in market called Screen adjuster
Not only can lower brightness all the way down to 0, but allows adjusting brightness contrast as well as red blue and green. It works great!
it is called screen adjust. Even has widget so you can preset a dark setting if you like and one press enables it.
I find this app extremely useful for night time reading where even with the night mode the white text is too bright.
That and while using my eee at night my wife always complains it's too bright.
i couldnĀ“t find the app. can you give me the download link please?
this is not a real screen adjustment, it runs *on top of the system* not only will it make your screen look like junk it will mak your homescreen scrolling laggy as hell, stay away

Actually screen filter runs on top. This actually really seems to darken it. I did notice lag one on home screen then home screen FC'd and after that it wokred fine. I sometimes get similar FC with out this app so not sure if it was to blame. All I know is I can now use my tablet in the dark without it being too bright.

I stand corrected it does run on top like screen filter. I tested during daytime and hadn't noticed. Either way it is another viable option.

Curious to know as well..
It'd be nice to be able to adjust the color saturation to make the GS 10.1
I made this app for educational purpose
Glad to hear if someone likes it
People with sgs2 like 'pseudo contrast'
I even didn't expect that it can be useful for someone ;0
Lags the tablet wouldnt reccomend this, example would be the scrolling of the home screen
On my SGS (and other smartphones) works great, but I try to look into what causes the problem on tablets
I like the initiative, good work!
New version released
Performance improved
Hi there,
I am trying to disable the 4 capacitative buttons from lighting up using the eagleblood 1.9 rom.
I've looked everywhere on the phone (well obviously not) and google but found nothing.
Thanks for the help in advance!
EDIT: to be more clear, i want them to stop from lighting up when there is a message...i feel like it will drain the battery too much
Go into cm7 setting then interface then led notification then mis. You will have to turn off each one separate. Change them to (none) . Problem fixed

Hi all
Recently started having this issue with my screen - haven't dropped it or anything either. On lighter colored backgrounds there are faint to pretty moderate horizontal lines flickering on the screen. The lines aren't colored or in one specific spot on the screen. It's hard to explain but it is similar to older projection tvs where there are those faint lines(static like) in the background.
I took a screenshot but it doesn't show the lines. I had been using Android Revolution HD 6.1 (great rom btw!!) and I've tried other roms since this began happening (thinking it was the rom) but to no avail. I'm currently running CM7.1.
Things I've tried:
changing roms
turning screen brightness up
turning on automatic brightness
turning down/off various animation settings
turning on light sensor filter in cm7 settings (helps a little)
If anyone can help it'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading!
I would try unrooting, installing ruu from HTC website and see if problem is still there. If it is then you will be back to stock and can claim your warranty. If problem is gone then just reroot. This is a problem I have not read anywhere though so it is probably a hardware malfunction and would need to be warrantied.
Not a bad idea! I'll give it a shot and share the results once complete.
Installed stock RUU - screen lines still present so probably a screen hardware issue. Going to take it into the store tomorrow and see what they can do
In my galaxy A30s when i set the fingerprint lock to the Display then screen having a green color on lock screen when i remove fingerprint screen will be normal this will be happened when screen brightness is low anyone having solution for that to screen is normal when brightness is low and no green color on the Display
Maybe something wrong with your display?
Are you using a custom ROM, or do you have any Magisk Modules?
If no, then it is probably a display issue.
You could try to flash the stock firmware, or factory reset.

There is definitely something wrong with your display, and I don't think you can fix it without a replacement. Sorry, but I really don't think there is anything you can do other than replacing it.
Its normal!
I thought of its normal on all device!
When i applied my custom wallpaper on lockscreen i slightly noticed its color is different from original pic so i changed pic and applied some dark wallpaper and now its fully green , it can be noticed easily!
You can remove fingerprint sensor (which i do)
Or
Use perfect wallpaper or use samsung wallpapers!
Ah okay, I never noticed that. Thanks for telling me about it!
There's nothing wrong with your display. Its a bug and a lot of ppl have it, including me. It happens with the lockscreen with inscreen fingerprint. In my case, if i rise the brightness it fixs but only for a while. Probably the next update will fix it
Hallo i think this is problem with oneui in lower Brigthness sceen show green tint on lockscreen with fingerprint and screen has buggy when call or alarm start
