[Q] Froyo/CM6.1 on G1 is too slow - General Questions and Answers

When I unlock the phone, it takes literally 15 seconds to get onto the home screen and when I press the menu/all applications, it takes atleast 20-30 seconds to arrange the icons.
Is there anything I can do to make my phone a little faster?

After new update clock doesn´t work ?

After update to Windows 6.5, i have many issues with the phone, one is that my clock is lagging behind, sometimes 30 minutes, so i can´t trust the clock !! everytime i connect it to active sync it sets the right time, then a couple of days later it´s not correct. A other thing is the phonebook it´s so damn slow, when i press a letter it takes 2-3 sec to show the numbers. It feels like all menues are so much slower, my phone was much better before this update, what to do ?? is it possible rollback firmware and start over again ?? HELP !! And i have also sometimes problem the phone goes to constant sleep, so i close down phone with a quick press on the button above to the left, then i wake it up by pressing the same button, but sometimes nothing happens just a little flickering on the screen and i must do a softreset.

Hold back to soft/quick reset.

I don't know how well known this is, but I just noticed this.
If you have 'stop app via long press' enabled in settings, applications, development and you hold back on the home screen your phone will reset.
I found this very useful as it only takes about 5 seconds to reset instead of nearly a minute the normal way.
Also useful for making settings that need a reboot work. Ie changing bar colour.
It also kills all apps which is very useful, especially because it only takes about 5 seconds.

[PROBLEM] Not able to hold screen for more than 3-5 seconds

I cannot hold the screen for more than 3-5 seconds.
Tested a couple of times, and even after multiple restarts. Previously a restart used to fix it, but now it isn't.
Phone specs
DDKP3
BCK Kernel
How i tested?
1. Hold any widget/shortcut on homescreen, and it automatically gets back at its original position after 3-5 seconds.
2. Pulled down thw notification bar halfway through the screen, and held it there, it stays there for 3-5 seconds and after that goes down to the end of the screen.
3. While playing any game, say Racing Moto, you have to peess any where on the screen and hold, to make the biker accelerate, the biker stops accelerating after 3-5 seconds.
Anyone facing such issues?
How to solve it?

Lockscreen Timeout Issue

so my girlfriend and me both have an S6, but I noticed an annoying thing.
The lockscreen timeout, when the device is locked and you press the power/home button, mine goes back to black in about 8 seconds and that is nice, but my gf screen, goes out in less then 5. not enough time to see all the notifications. i googled a bit and seems others encountered the same issue. even some, less then 2seconds. now i would like to know if others have the same short time or is mine pretty long or any way in changing the duration...

It's because you have power saving mode on.
Nope, it is not active. When it is activated it indeed goes off withing a second or 2, but when off, mine does 8 seconds, hers about 4seconds.
If you want, I can make a video... I'm using pattern unlock, on both phones. I notice on mine, when I press the home-button, it takes about 2 seconds for the message to drawn the pattern, to show on the screen, above the dots. On hers, it is immediately. So that is 2 seconds "faster" for no reason.

Is there a way to make the camera faster?

Not sure if this is an issue with phone or software but I think it's the phone as I tried multiple camera apps and even OSes. (graphene, Android 12, now on Calyx)
Basically, the camera is slow! I press the shutter button, either physical or touch, and it takes a good 2-3 seconds to take the picture. By then whatever I was taking a picture of is long gone. I only realized this after a walk in the woods, almost all my pictures were of the ground then I realized it's because it was not taking the picture until several seconds after I took it.
My previous phone (DTEK50) was way faster than that. Is there a way to make this one fast as well?
