Superuser foreclosing - HTC Inspire 4G

I just rooted my phone, but I have been unable to load a custom rom. Anytime that I tried to load in clockwork mod I get a black screen. I think I know what the issue is, superuser is foreclosing. It does this with SambaFilesharing and app monster. I updted superuser to the new version but still the same. Any ideas in how to fix this? Yes my phone is root with S-Off.

Please post in the correct section.

Done! Thanks for asking. From now on, search the rooting threads.

I was having problems with superuser force closing on my Inspire as well. I used Rom Manager to fix permissions and haven't had a problem since

this fixed Rom manager and SU issues for me...

Problems with XDA app

Hello guys.
I'm having a problem with the XDA dev app. I have the official (free) version of it.
I got the app with the custom ROM I recently installed, but the problem is when I'm going to read threads in subforums, the application crashes.
That happens with any threads I'm trying to go to a thread.
So I saw a update for the app, but when I press "Update" in market and after a couple of seconds the installation fails. I says: "Package is not signed correctly" or something like that.
So I don't know what to do now
I want to read XDA Forum threads on my X10!
Please help me with this annoying problem.
Thanks,
Unistall with titanium and reinstall from market should sort it.

uninstall that with TB than reinstall from market
Thanks for both answers.
Okay, I have removed it with TB and TRIED to install from market again, but now Im getting this message: "Incompatible Update".
What's wrong now?
I wondering if the two problems u having are related somehow

Ah, I manage to install the app now!
The problem was that I had installed Scamble (custom ROM) and had problem with my operator (could not call, or anything) because I didn't patch my baseband!
So now I have patched and everything works now, I can install the app without any problems!
Thank you guys for all the help,
Nice u got it up and running
Yeah
But I have another question I just take in this thread.
Where is my apps I download from Android Market? I have looked in the /system/app and /Data/App, nothing there.
So where can the apk files be?

System/app contains all the system apps.
Data/app contains all the apps that you have downloaded or installed.
You need something with right permission to see it. Astro or any other withouth root permission won't work. Try Root Explorer its worth rue money.

[Q] Oxygen ROM Questions....

I can't post to the development thread because I'm a newb to this forum, so, I'm hoping somebody will see this here.
Nexus S 4G running Oxygen 2.2.3. Voice Search fc's as soon as I start it up, even from within another app, like navigation. Anybody had this issue and been able to solve it?
If one application stops working usually an uninstall and reinstall of the application will fix it.

Been there. I've uninstalled and reinstalled from the market a few times. I even tried to pull one from a deodexed 2.3.7 stock ROM. Still Fc's.

Not until I read your post
I went through Root Explorer, but the permissions were okay there. I then booted into recovery and used fix permissions. No dice.

Go ahead and install 2.3.1 and see if it is fixed. This is the latest version.
I used voice search a few days ago without any problems on Oxygen 2.3.
Like others have said, try the 2.3.1 version 'cause they fixed some bugs in the previous version!
Sorry guys, I must have updated the wrong thread. I got it working by clearing data. Thanks for the feedback

Superuser 3.0.5 update

I have the update for superuser waiting in the market. Is this update 3.0.5 still having the FC issues I have been reading about in the forums lately? I don't want to update if this is an issue. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Vinny
PS Since downloading the CM7 and the overclock kernel my Sensation is a new phone.I sent my new Amaze back. The Sensation is probably the fastest phone I have used with this Rom and kernel.
Yes it is still causing issues for the large majority

I have already updated to 3.0.5 and it FC all the time. I have even tried to remove the update, however I still get FC all the time. Now I can't use any app that requires root access.
Any ideas on fixing this?
Thanks in advance.

V2.xxx of super user shouldn't be used on gb roms. V3.0.2 is the last stable version.
Op, try going into su app (if possible) and change notifications into status bar instead of toast and see if that helps.

Was this answer for me or the OP?
I am back to the 2.3.6.3 .I was having all the time FC with the 3.0.5 so now before going to the new version i will wait until a stable version comes out.
It's possible tu use 3.05 !In "préférences" , you must have "automatic réponse" on "autorised" only ! This solution works fine ! No "force closed" with this !
Excuse me for my "bad" language , i'm french

Well, you need to delete the superuser apk, then delete the su binary in /bin and /xbin and the flash superuser through cwm.
The latest stable is 3.0.2 btw....

One thing I don't understand....
Why is the creater(s) of Superuser still "offering" 3.0.5 when there is a MASSIVE problem with it?
Why don't they just go back to latest stable version until they have fixed the FC in 3.0.5 - don't understand why they keep pushing out 3.0.5....

Try to re-flash the rom it may have been a bad flash... If something messes up for me I just re-flash and the problem is 99% of the time solved. If that don't work try to flash a later build and see if it is persistent.
You need to stop making new post about the same thing. It is all related to your original post. Someone is eventually going to flame you for it. I have already posted the solution that worked for me in your original post in this section. It will give you root back and super user. You didn't loose root its something wrong with superuser. I found my answer by simply searching in the miui thread in the dev section it was posted in there.

[Q] Fix Permissions take long?

How long does fix permissions take to run in rom manager? Just flashed sky ice 4.2f and someone said to run fix permissions and its said just that for 30 min now.
I have about 50 apps and it takes about 1 minute and a bit.

thought that method didnt work plus sean specifically states to use rom manager and since its seans rom he should follow seans op.
the problem the op is having is he doesnt have busybox properly installed

I've had problems with fix permissions in RM, too. Read somewhere in XDA that it's different in CWM than in RM. I've used a script in Rom Toolbox Pro and it shows the same type of log I see in RM, but goes faster. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't RM's fp just a script anyway?

If you've changed rom's and restored your apps from backups created while running other rom's, often that will screw everything up.
Try fresh installing all your apps from the Google Play store, or try deleting the app data and caches on whatever apps seem to be halting ROM Manager while fixing permissions.
Had the same issue of permission fix hanging forever, but Busybox install seemed to resolve it.
But my intend of fixing the permission was to get rid of the warning message that I get after a reboot:
"System UIDs Inconsistent"
This hasn't dissipated... any ideas?

Do a full wipe and install a fresh custom rom/stock rom... yeah that's a nice help.
I think I'll go suggest that to anybody having any problems in their Android phones.
It probably fixes their problem 9/10 times.
