I have the update for superuser waiting in the market. Is this update 3.0.5 still having the FC issues I have been reading about in the forums lately? I don't want to update if this is an issue. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Vinny
PS Since downloading the CM7 and the overclock kernel my Sensation is a new phone.I sent my new Amaze back. The Sensation is probably the fastest phone I have used with this Rom and kernel.
Yes it is still causing issues for the large majority

I have already updated to 3.0.5 and it FC all the time. I have even tried to remove the update, however I still get FC all the time. Now I can't use any app that requires root access.
Any ideas on fixing this?
Thanks in advance.

V2.xxx of super user shouldn't be used on gb roms. V3.0.2 is the last stable version.
Op, try going into su app (if possible) and change notifications into status bar instead of toast and see if that helps.

I am back to the 2.3.6.3 .I was having all the time FC with the 3.0.5 so now before going to the new version i will wait until a stable version comes out.
It's possible tu use 3.05 !In "préférences" , you must have "automatic réponse" on "autorised" only ! This solution works fine ! No "force closed" with this !
Excuse me for my "bad" language , i'm french

Well, you need to delete the superuser apk, then delete the su binary in /bin and /xbin and the flash superuser through cwm.
The latest stable is 3.0.2 btw....

One thing I don't understand....
Why is the creater(s) of Superuser still "offering" 3.0.5 when there is a MASSIVE problem with it?
Why don't they just go back to latest stable version until they have fixed the FC in 3.0.5 - don't understand why they keep pushing out 3.0.5....

EDIT: You can also just flash THIS by attn1 to accomplish the same goal.
The update for 1.84 for the Inspire 4G was released on 4-29-2011 as an OTA update. It WILL NOT RUN on rooted ROMs.
Things I have personally observed about this ROM:
Quick. Seems to respond very well to input, no real hesitations. I won't tell you quadrant scores because they are useless.
GPS WORKS! Exceptionally well. 3-6 FOOT accuracy. The highest TTL I have seen is 17s.
Fast. HSUPA is working well, 1.3mbps up. I hit 6mbps down on a regular basis with this ROM. YMMV, of course. But it works great here in North Texas.
Third party non market Apps install. Yes, you read that right. There is no selector to turn it on or off, though. They work for me. YMMV.
DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR PHONE, COMPUTER, PLACE OF RESIDENCE, OR PETS.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Prerequisites:
S-Off HTC Inspire 4G with microSD card inserted (HOW TO thanks to attn1)
RUU to stock 2.2.1 v1.80 (Located here thanks to cmstlist)
Gingerbreak v1.2 (From Chainfire) loaded on your SD Card
The OTA update note: place in /sdcard/download. This method is untested.
Sideload Wonder Machine if install of Gingerbreak does not work.
A valid Wi-Fi connection
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Follow these steps to achieve a rooted 2.2.1 v1.84 stock ROM
1. RUU your phone to stock following instructions provided in the above thread using the pd98img.zip method, NOT THE .EXE!
2. Boot phone, don't bother adding any accounts or setting anything but a wifi connection up.
3. Go to Settings, choose AT&T Software Update, then choose HTC Wi-Fi Software Update.
4. Download and install
5. Boot phone into updated stock ROM.
6. Install Gingerbreak v1.2 and run it. It will crash HTC Sense launcher, force close it, then you will see an error saying it could not reboot phone. Reboot manually using power button. If it gives you a weird error on boot such as a picture of a phone and a red mark, pull the battery then reboot.
7. ROOT! Yes, you now have root. Verify superuser.apk is in your app drawer, then I strongly recommend installing busybox from the market.
8. Install ROM Manager from the market and flash ClockworkMod Recovery. I have had no issues with 3.0.2.6.
That's it, done! I have had a couple small FC's from SU when first granting permissions to an app, to fix it open the actual superuser app then go back to the offending program. Once granted permissions this should not occur anymore.
I hope this helps!
If I missed anyone in the thanks above it was purely unintentional. PM me and I will correct the oversight.

a little "birdie" told me that at&t is rolling this out to 10K users a day for the first three days, then evaluating the results and - assuming all goes well - will bump up to 25K-50K users on 5/2, and then 50K users a day until done beginning 5/3 or 5/4. don't know for sure, though, if this is why you're having to wait for 1 more day.

If you downloaded the update prior going back to stock Un-rooted, then you need to either format you SD card or use another one. When I went back to stock, the update didn't show up for me, but as soon as I changed my SD card, the OTA came right up after I prompted for an update.

I wouldn't much worry about updating to this if your phone is rooted. Soon enough someone will have a rooted and CWR Flashable version of this. With so many good roms and Devs here I assume it wont be long.

I have uninstalled it already and haven't seen any changes in performance or behavior. I'll post tomorrow night after a full day's use to give a report. But in all honesty I don't think its going to show any problems. You can always use Titanium Backup to back up the apk before you uninstall it that way if you do have problems, you can reinstall it.
EDIT: its labeled in TB as :
HTC Loggers 3.1.gingerbread.GRJ22.mecha
EDIT 2: This issue is on Sense ROMs only. If you are running an AOSP ROM, you are in the clear.
EDIT 3: If your still running Froyo Sense (not sure why you are) it may or may not be in there. Some people have stated that this is a Sense based Gingerbread issue only but since I can't confirm it yet, don't take my word.

No, because it would involve needing things that require root. Unless you have some sort of magical way to mess with iptables and install it on your phone or edit the host file without having write access to the system.
I am running a mostly stock MR2 (MR2 rooted and deodexed but NOT debloated) ROM and couldn't find it. The POC app also says connection refused. I checked with both es file explorer and titanium backup but did not find anything either.

You beat me to it.... iptables requires support to be compiled into the kernel. Without root, you ain't touching the kernel nor replacing it with one that has the necessary support.

Sometimes roms already come with busybox installed. However, they need to be updated/reinstalled in order for fix permissions to work. Usually that does the job. If not, try reflashing the rom and make sure you follow the dev's instructions thoroughly.

I've had problems with fix permissions in RM, too. Read somewhere in XDA that it's different in CWM than in RM. I've used a script in Rom Toolbox Pro and it shows the same type of log I see in RM, but goes faster. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't RM's fp just a script anyway?

If you've changed rom's and restored your apps from backups created while running other rom's, often that will screw everything up.
Try fresh installing all your apps from the Google Play store, or try deleting the app data and caches on whatever apps seem to be halting ROM Manager while fixing permissions.
Had the same issue of permission fix hanging forever, but Busybox install seemed to resolve it.
But my intend of fixing the permission was to get rid of the warning message that I get after a reboot:
"System UIDs Inconsistent"
This hasn't dissipated... any ideas?
