My question would be, are you letting the oden process go all the way through? If the tar file is properly downloaded, the phone will reboot on its own and you will be at the stock home screen. let the process go through. the progress bar will go all the way across the phone screen then reboot. Give the phone time to reboot before you disconnect or touch anything. If you are trying to use that 3e fix forget it. It does not work. You will have to go back to the stock tar file. If you follow the proper procedure it should get you back to stock.

I hope you didn't use a PIT file like I did. I had to get mine replaced. If it's less than 30 days you can go to the store and exchange your phone. If you didn't use the PIT and just the PDA/TAR only. Try reinstalling using Odin again and don't repartition.

I would first try to get into download mode. If you can get into download mode, then you can flash the build. If you can't get into download mode, then you might be screwed. Jump over to the irc channel in my signature and tell them which phone it is and see if they can help you out. I should be back in there soon if no one is available.
i do have a limited android recovery that would let me apply sdcard update.zip

That's the stock recovery - if you are able to get into that then you most likely should be able to get into download mode (which would enable you to flash the stock build in odin.) Like phidelt82 said, jump in the IRC chat when you can - we're always there to help. Otherwise I suggest you go back to the stock thread and read those instructions carefully and try again.
I had this happen too once.
Just take the battery out, hold your volume down button and donwload mode should show up.
Get a copy of oden / froyo 2.2 and you'll be up and running in minutes.
Hey guys so what happened was that I was trying to root my phone through Gingerbread and Odin (as my infuse is Rogers). But I forgot to put in a SD card so now my phone is stuck in reboot loop! I have tried everything you guys have mentioned online! I cleared the user data but no avail. I inserted a SD card, even put on the SGHI997 rom, inserted the folders voodoo and disable-lagfix and still didnt work. I tried unbricking it via GTG but instead my rogers is gone and now I have AT&T and still in a loop! HELP!
Did you look at this post to see if it helps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1205381
yup i did. It was the GTG process i mentioned that i tired before. the bootlooping has stopped but know is stuck on the samsung screen :S i left at the screen for 30 mins now still nothing. i cant even enter recovery mode anymore
u can not get into download mode??
yeah i still can
Were you able Odin back to stock?
not really, these are the results of odin:
GTG odin process: stuck at samsung screen. Cannot enter recovery mode.
Gingerbread process: goes to clockwordmod recovery (red txt). I wipe sd, wipe data/factory reset, enters bootloop. However can enter recovery mode.
Rogers stock: goes to andriod recovery mode (blue txt). I wipe sd, wipe data/factory reset, enters bootloop. However can enter recovery mode.
so no phone does not go back normal functioning self

From recovery you should be able to get to download.
Try this link with the option to get root & 3e recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092021
It sounds like you do not have modified 3e installed so it will check for sig?
from there if you install packages 2X you can get to CWM and flash what you will.....
EDIT: Sorry, I see you are able to get to CWM
can you not put a new rom on the SD and flash it? Or start over again with a fresh stock in case there was a glitch in the first install?
I am in the same situation and have the same problem too, i"ve looked lots of post and tried different method,,
even GTG's method it still in boot loop!!!!T^T
can anyone help

Hey when you say rom is assume you mean pda kernal files that come with odin and such? Then those would be PDA_ROGERS_UXKG3.tar.md5, PDA_Infuse_Gingerbread.tar.md5, the files the come in GTG unbrick.
I have also did repartion, but it did nothing.
I you mean rom by the SGHI997 rom i tried that too
Edit: Okay so I have been searching online and discovered you need put the room onto the internal sd card. But i dont see how i can do that considering my phone goes to recovery mode straight away

I'd like to bring the UnBrickable mod to this platform which will allow us to flash bootloaders to UnBrickably modded devices.. and seriously mod the crap out of the firmware... If you decide to turn it in for repair, consider PMing me so I can do some reverse engineering on it and then you can turn it in for not being able to turn on
Your device likey requires a PIT flash just so you know.

In CWM (red) under "mounts and Storage, select "Mount USB". Of course you are connect to your computer when you do this and in windows an external drive should become available. Place the zip file on the root of that drive.
Once copied, disconnect from windows first then unmout in CWM. from here you can go directly to and install from zip.
Hope that makes sense.

hey i tired what you said. i did a few times nothing came. then on my 4th try the driver showed up on my computer but it said 'please insert drive.' i reset and tried again the drive didnt show up
Remove the sim card and try again. Also, you can always copy a rom to an sdcard and install that in your Infuse.
Cranky...
hey i tried what you said but same result. i cant put on rom on because they mass storage does not show on my pc :S after the odd time of resetting and entering recovery mode, it connects but it says 'insert drive'
follow this link,, i recoverd my infuse 4G using this rom!!!!!!!

yes try a pit flash with repartition selected, it might fix it. theses types of bricks have been rare on the infuse and many people dont have experience with them. the available pit is packaged with the att ultimate unbrick but you should probably use it with the rogers odin firmware.

Sorry it took so long. I'll try to get in touch with GTG to make sure that his unbrick threads are more clear as to which device they are appropriate for.
UCKD5/E3 unbricks will only work on AT&T Infuses
UXKG3 will only work on Rogers Infuses
Custom Gingerbread ROMs will work on both, but there are no Odin-flashable packages for these.
Guyz my phone was rebooting since the last few days and yesterday it suddenly stuck on the I5801 logo. I tried going into to recovery mode and reseting the data but it dint work it was getting stuck there to like it kept on going and tried it a few times.I dont remmeber if i have ticked the usb debugging option and i dont know how to proceed but my phone goes into downloading mode wen i press the keys for it so can any tell me a solution to it .Thanks in advance im kind a new to this but i know how to flash using odin so i wanted to ask should i flash the kernel or rom and which one
download any .tar ROM like kyrillos rom and flash it via odin
connect the phone to download mode and then open odin and select the .ops file and tick one package and select the .tar rom you have downloaded and then click start
once the download is complete, wipe data in the recovery (it automatically enters it)
and then reboot
enjoy
Thanks alot ill try it out
my friend gave this link i flashed it accourding to this
://androidadvices.com/samsung-galaxy-3-gt-i5801-steps-install-official-froyo-ddjp6-22-firmware/2/
now my phone is stuck on
-- delete app data.....
Delete files,please wait.
i tried going into recovery but same thing happens.
Im not familiar with androidadvices.com so cant say why that would happen, I know that there is stock firmware available on here is you search STOCK FIRMWARE you will find it. download one you want to unzip it, flash the .tar file via odin and factory reset and wipe dalvik cache. this should solve any problems you have.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497261
download JPU and flash it via odin
My gti5801 is stuck on recovery menu and i dont know what to do...
pull out the battery and reflash your rom with odin
If you're like me, you don't like having to pull your battery out to reboot your phone. When having problems with Odin I hate having to pull my battery out to simply reboot it when commands like "adb reboot" have spoiled me.
Here is a blank .tar file (just made in notepad) for Odin. Put it in the PDA slot and make sure Auto Reboot is checked. Click Start and Odin will reboot your Samsung device into Android. No wiping or writing.

came in handy - for a zero byte file. lol
lazy ppl ftw!
great!! thanks a lot!! how can i create a file like this that reboots the device in recovery mode? can you do that?
To flash it in recovery you will first have to boot in recovery... So this means nothing lol... Use quickboot app...

Sorry for the really late response. I too am trying to figure out how to make Odin tell the phone to boot straight into recovery. One method I found does work. Find the CF-Autoroot package for your phone (if it exists), pull the cache.img out, put that cache.img into an odin package (find a tutorial on how to do that elsewhere), then flash and it will boot straight into recovery.
For example. I made a a custom odin package for my Galaxy Note 2 using a TWRP.img and the cache.img from the CF-Autoroot package. Flashed it in Odin and it installed TWRP and booted straight into recovery! This way the recovery-from-boot.p file can be deleted in recovery before it reinstalls the stock recovery.
can you help me, booting with odin on sgs1 to get into recovery mode. very importent

I don't think I can help you out. CF-Root files don't contain the trick to boot straight into recovery. At least this is what I think, I don't have a phone that can use CF-Root to test it on. Picking apart CF-AutoRoot is what helped me. The Galaxy S 1 does not have CF-AutoRoot since that phone is set up differently than newer Samsung devices.
Great idea mate, power button broken in my sgs i9000 and if it turns off i can only access download mode.. So via Odin and your file i managed to power it on fast and simple.. Thx again..
My phone is stuck in recovery mode because the home button is broken, but when I connect my phone to pc, Odin can detect my phone. Can I use Odin to reboot my phone when it's in recovery model instead of download mode? Thank you.
^^ same question?
Can Odin just reboot?

If I understand correctly this is a blank (0 byte) file which does nothing but after flashing is completed because autoreboot is checked the phone will reboot automatically. Genius indeed!

Worked like a charm... just to add ... in newer ODIN instead of PDA you'd see AP. Also in Options remember to uncheck "F. Reset Time" and keep "Auto Reboot" on as mentioned above.
P.S: I didn't check what happens if F. Reset Time is on. Just posted what worked for me.
Note:
This is a exactly a tool for those whose "power button not working" to get out of any of ODIN or recovery modes when required. Usually it is decrease volume button + power/side key button for more than 7 secs to reboot and come out of odin mode.
Thanks XDA.
Alright so once again for the 4th time I was misfortunate enough to soft brick my Fascinate all because of Odin. Even though i know how to unbrick it easily just by using the Super One Click, but its still annoying because I still l havnt been able to install ClockworkMod Recovery. I havnt gotten ANYTHING done with Odin. All its done is brick my Android. I have root, i clicked the pda button and chose the tar file (which is clockwork mod) , I put my phone in download mode, Odin detects it, I press start and this is what Odin says "failed! (succeeded 0/failed 1)" and then congratulations, Its bricked... Thank you Odin... really, what da hell am I doin wrong?? I know the file isnt corrupt because I downloaded another tar file and the same thing happened. Help me out for real

Wrong file perhaps, tar file should be the original ROM file if im not mistaken. To flash CWM, you need to boot your phone into the recovery and flash it from there.
Make sure that Odin is running as administrator. I'm confused as to how you have root before even installing clockworkmod recovery.

I used Super One Click to get it rooted. I went to Rom Manager to flash CWM recovery but whenever i click boot into recovery, i end up in the original stock version. Whatever it's called. So yeah, i checked my sd card and theres a folder called "clock work recovery" inside are some other files and a zip file. Does tht mean its installed?
On my phone, when I open up ROM Manager, there's an option that says "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" - have you done that ?

Yes i do, i clicked on it, it says it installs it successfully. Yet when i enter recovery its still not clockwork. Im suppose to do it through Odin but it fails every time

This is because in newer android kernels, when you reboot your phone it reflashes recovery before booting back into android. Next time you install clockworkmod recover through rom manager, after it's successful, just pull your battery out. insert the battery again, and boot straight into recovery, not into android first. If you are able to do this, you should be able to flash a custom rom on there no problemo. once that's done, clockwork mod won't give you a problem again.
This still doesn't answer why odin won't work for you, but if you can use an alternative method i wouldn't even worry about it.
Hope this helps.
Odin not working!!!
I have just recently dowloaded the Odin programme, everything works until I try to open up the root file. It will not find it when I browse through Odin. However it does shows up when just looking via my computer, extracted and all. If anyone knows the cause of this please help!
