I installed 6.5 on my wizard, it is slower than 6. I am thinking about going back to 6. Is 6.5 better than 6 in some point?
It is for sure slower & with less memory
but :
It is prettier, more finger friendly, you can choose a version with CHome (I have kinda bored Manilla) & every version that I try is faster than the previous & with more memory
I am using XDA2's CHome, it's pretty good, and I'll say it's very pretty. I get used to Manilla, maybe I will try to install that one and try out for a while.
i think 6.5 is more suitable for 128M ram devices, no?

Yeah, I think so, and cpu should be around 400.
Went back to 6.1
I installed xda2 CHome and another rom that slips my mind. Both were fine, but I found them slow and I had trouble closing windows with my finder--where as 6.1 it worked fine.
ive got 6.5 and ive actually found it faster than 6 and 6.1

I use CRMac beta 2 (6.5), at first boot have more 25mb ram free, after 1 day use still 21mb...It's great room but i still don't like Mac UI in this room
review?
I'm using xda2's CHome WM6.5 version 2.7(?). I flashed today. It was slow at first but im using Omapclock to overclock to 240. I've used this for a couple hours now, and with the overclock it seems a lot smoother than 6.1, especially the touch scrolling. The animations are also very smooth, which makes the device seem a lot faster than it is =]
Also, I seem to have a good amt of RAM after a couple hours of use, around 18MB. More RAM is available after a soft-reset.
I'm using a program i found here on XDA that autolocks my phone when it turns back on, so I'm finally using the native WM lock versus when i had 6.1, when i always used S2U2. S2U2 is great, but I wanted to try out the native lock. Its called Chobit SmartLock, and so far it works well. I also like the Caller ID here.
A downside though is that I dont think this version has a favorite contacts panel on the today screen, or a favorite programs panel either (like the ones you would find in M2D). Maybe I missed it?
But again, I've only been using this for a couple hours. Not much time to thoroughly evaluate it i guess. And props to xda2_haseeb!

Why I prefer 6.5
I prefer the overall UI functionality, it is lacking in a couple of areas so far (would like the calendar to show the next appt) but the finger interface is much improved over M2D/WM6.1.
Personally I find the XDA2 ROMs a bit under developed (currently trying v3.0 - gonna revert back to CR 6.5.0.0.4) and the v3 UI is a bit garish (the new titanium UI looks like an incomplete port of a VGA model).
It does tax the old OMAP850 (@195MHz) to it's limits but I like it!

Have patience, friend.
Even I am eager to flash and test a new PRO ROM but let him deliver his best. Give him time.
do i need to change my BINFS size?
if so, what would be the best size to use for this rom.
this is what is my opinion so far:
Stable rom no crashes no crazy stuff.
my radio works in this rom (i can send text and make and receive phonecalls) in short:
JouSePo great work, i DO apreciate your efford in this rom...
but i have problems and wishes.
1: how do i get rid of the battery bar?
2: why is this a ported touchscreen version and not a candybar model version?
3: why is there a on screen keyboard on this? (this probably belongs to question 2)
anyway, if it's just more work to make it a non touchscreen version then i'd like more efford in the rom itself than all the fidle stuff like fancy startup screens and battery bars and usbstick mode...)
reason: I CAN install those apps myself, however i CANT cook a rom...
again i do appreciate the work, but too much attention to the extra stuff, and to little attention to porting this rom from touchscreen to candybar mode imho....

On initial testing, even I share the same views of Homertje.
@Homertje,
1. Try clicking on the VistaBattery in the \Windows folder. This is a crude way though. I'll let you know if I find out the proper method.
2. Because this is professional version. Some of us like it as it is much much faster, gorgeous and can run Touchscreen programs.
3. Some programs cannot utilize the keypad and so, we are forced to use the on-screen keyboard using the FakeCursor.
@JouSePo,
I love the new xT9 included. Now clicking on 2 results in a instead of c. I can type the numbers directly too. The last ROM to have this was the wonderful Kamikadze RC 7.
Please use .NetCF 3.7. It seems (from PKGTool) you are using 2.7.
Also, if possible, use calculator from the Standard version. This is too cumbersome and impractical to use. Less themes would be nice too as it saves some space and we can always install ones we desire.
Could not download from rapidshare.. bad my network could not succeed through web proxy too so, could not try
But I support rajathvsm.
1. I hate VistaHideBattery.
2. Calculator from standard is better.
3. Like sollitiar game from standard
4. Kindly check for battery life
I hope this release is a better one, and somebody will help me with a mirror Thanks
Things to do....
-lockscreen doesn't exit with 0 key :s (also you can use fakecursor activating with long vol down)
-in esn version tsk files are lost during build but resources yet copied (don't know why. Copy tsk files to your windows folder and will be fine)
-¿can someone upload calculator from standar?
-.net version is the default. next version will include but size of rom for build is at 99,9%.
-ie6 and office aren't installed because no space
Tips...
-WMWidget support are installed only need to install a widget
if you want can remove internet sharing, modem link and some other stuff for include some more improvementes like ie6, office, wmwidgets...
EDIT: if someone could find Standar SYS for 23001 build or 21820/15 would be great!!!

thanks great reply, so the rom beeing a touchscreen version is on perpose, is that right...?
then my question would be is there going to be a pro version wich is ended to the candy bar mode?
even if that means no onscreen keyboard, no support for touchscreen programs (as i almost never use custom software anyway.) and still have the honeycomb menu and opacity on the lower bar in today screen..
as having the fullscreen themes and the new menu is actually the ONLY reason for choosing 6.5 pro rom...
if that is so then pretty much this rom is not ended on my use. still if its intentionally a touchscreen version, mad props that this is quite a good rom...!

If that's what you want, then go for SGregory's 6.5 Standard ROM and then install the titanium panels cab of Rickwyatt. But you won't get the programs menu like the PRO ROM. Still, an advantage is that you can use your keypad to access the programs, unlike the PRO where you have to use your D-pad. You won't get the speed too. And the font size is too big and is a waste of the Tornado screen's capacity. SGregory's ROM is excellent, I might add. Its only the drawbacks of a Standard ROM that keeps me away from it.
Hope that answers it.
Pro??
I am a Pro user and almost broke my D-pad.
Bad thing of Pro is it addicts. I am noway back to Standard.

The solution to your dilemma might be 9 way keypad. As the name suggests, it uses your keypad to move the cursor in 9 possible directions.
I haven't used it as my D-pad is fine but I am planning to shift to it later as a precautionary measure. Tornadoes are wayward when it comes to directions.

It is a powerfull soft.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Gestures\Touch]
"Disabled"=dword:00000000
to:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Gestures\Touch]
"Disabled"=dword:00000001
then soft reset.

This is THE most stable rom that I've tried by now. Every single app works like a charm! 128dpi realvga - no errors; nuenobar - no unwanted blank irritating space under taskbar that dissapears when rotated, it just works as it should; SRS WOW 1.5.1 - no errors, just kicks ass; Call Of Duty - highest fps by now, almost no lag; very good battery life; I have bunch of active apps installed (quickmenu, wktask, batti, iconsoft phoneex, weather panel) and ton of games and other apps and it is still very very fast... Sometimes, when you have a lot of messages and you import them on WM 6.5 with PIM Backup - cprog.exe is going crazy and uses all CPU power. Maybe it happend also for you and thats why its working slower. Its only my suggestion, and it doesn`t hurt to check
I like WM 6.5 because it happens to have better RAM memory management, and its really faster than 6.1. (or is it my imagination )

Hi,
I am going to make a big thread for tips and tricks on saving RAM on HTC Sense/TouchFlo3D. If you have any, please add them to this thread!
1) Deactivate Unnecessary Tabs - Each Tab takes up it's own amount of RAM. I find deactivating them makes sense faster, and uses less RAM
2) Deactivate HTC Volume Control - Saves you 2mb of RAM, Added at end of post
3) Deactivate Manilla Dialer - Saves 10mb RAM,
Delete this two RegKeys
REG KEY Registry\HKLM\SECURITY\PHONE\SKIN\
REG KEY Registry\HKLM\SECURITY\PHONE\SmartDial\
4) Kill AlbumSearcher.exe and AudioSearcher.exe - Saves up to 6mb RAM
After using Music/Photo Tabs, use MMTaskmanager (attached to end of post) and kill these .exes. Don't worry, they won't cause any damage to your phone.
5) Don't Use Landscape Mode - using Landscape mode has to load up all the individual tabs again and takes more RAM up. There is an manilla reg tweak for that which I can't quite remember, but will add it soon.
6) Try not to use Manilla Mods! - a pretty self-explanatory one, but i tend not to use these as they make the device unusable for me and freeze my phone up alot. They are great apps though!(e.g - Co0kie's Home Tab) They were built in mind for the HD2 with 576mb RAM.
7) Disable Manilla Notification Area - Saves 4mb RAM
Again, can't find this reg tweak, but when I do, I will add it!
8) Disable Start-Menu in WM6.5.x - Saves 10-15mb RAM
Disable it but install Miro's startmenu replacement OR Kenia1234 Start-Menu Replacement which uses no RAM!
9) Disable WM6.5.x Lock Screen - Saves 5mb RAM
Uses the default WM6.1 lock screen which uses no RAM. Start > Settings > Lock > Windows Classic

Yeh! Thanks! Lol, i made about 7 threads for the themes and apps!
We desperately need more TG01 members! We have only about 10 members who check the forum The TG01 forum for MoDaCo has even died out!
EDIT: I will change it, to 15mb? I think it technically could be possible if you have over 100 apps installed they are cached into the start menu (images). But your average user only has 20 apps installed. Okay, will edit it
Mods, perhaps a sticky?
"Mods, perhaps a sticky?"- write a PM to one of MODS
Will add and update this tommorow!
Thanks!!! i save 15 mb...
problem connecting wifi network
hey there, I enjoy the HTC Sense Theme pretty much, thank you for all.
I have a problem enabling wifi and bluetooth after installing this theme.
Could someone tell me or give me a patch for this?
well, I'm currently using the T-01A (TG01 in Japan),
and this gives me restriction of wifi network/bluetooth connection enabled at the same time (which is operated by an extra exe program for controlling connections) I may say this causes the problem, but I dont know how to solve this.
please help,
thank you.

I don't have a cab for you but a few pointers, if you are using sense 2019 installed via a cab file, then you need to find the comm manager, but even then you will still have all sorts of issues.
The only way i can see you having a good sense experience is to flash a sense rom. Convert any sense rom you choose to a T-01a rom, you can flash any of the many sense roms by Miro, Feropont or even FFboy.
oh okay, thanks for your advice,,,I see some difficulties here.
Is it secure/okay/legal to conver t-01a to tg01?

OK, i was slightly wrong, you can convert a TG01 rom to a T-01a rom.
Before you begin, you need to do some research, which rom you want, what is the best radio for your T-01a and area of the world you live in, download the radio you want and a way to change it, do you want a backup of your current rom or can you get it again, and finally be familiar with disaster recovery and possibly have a unlock solution, whether thats a unlock code you already have or if its already locked some other solution.
Once you are familiar with what you need to know, look here to convert your chosen rom
