That particular recovery won't ever let you into external memory card, you need to get back into stock that can done by using easy flash.. Use easy flasher to unroot and get back into stock ICS... then root and install some other recovery... you can find easy flasher thread under Eeepad android development thread.. I also suggest TWRP recovery... read all the instructions and use easy flasher... its pretty easy... follow the link below

Screen is and will be BLANK when in APX mode... APX mode is nvflash mode you won't see anything.. start the easy flash and start flashing stock ROM... YOU WILL SEE JUST 2 LINES ON YOUR TABLET if easy flasher is working and if its pushing required files.. if it doesn't then try removing and installing the required driver (naked driver)....

i seriously appreciate your help as your the only one who has responded as of yet....but what im saying is i understand that the screen will go blank when in apx mode....but when entering what i believe is apx mode my computer does not reconize that the transformer is plugged in at all......in control panel under usb there is no exclamation point warning me there is no drivers installed its as if i have not plugged in anything....
Same issue
I am in the exact same situation, flashed [ROM][JB][4.1.1] AOSP build #3 from here, same version of CWM Recovery. I have the AOSP Rom and a version of SMW touch still on my internal SD card but reflashing with various combinations of wiping data wasn't able to solve my issue. It will freeze on the "android" spash screen or on the "Optimizing android: starting apps". The CWM touch zip says it installs but the tablet still reboots into the 5.8.3.4 version.
I tried leaving it on both screens for several hours, but it never gets anywhere.
As far as APX mode, I have tried turning it off and holding the buttons, leaving it on and holding the buttons, various timings of holding the buttons as well as 2 different USB cables and 2 separate computers and a live CD of linux, but as far as I can tell, nothing recognizes the pad as being in APX mode. However, the screen does stay black, and it requires holding the power button down for ~20 seconds to see the ASUS splash screen again, after which it boots right to the useless recovery image. (Can't read external SD, tried formatting it FAT, FAT32, NTFS as well as different block sizes.)
I have another USB cable on the way, but the two I have were charging the pad as of 2 days ago, so I don't know how much issue that is. I have also reinstalled drivers several times and I must say I am about out of ideas.
Thats exactly my problem......but i dont think another cable will help.......was APX removed within an update?....
because it doesnt make any sense for APX mode to not work...
Without getting the transformer to be reconized in CWM or APX with a usb cable i think we may be sol...there is no other way to get another recovery or rom on the internal sd..
Yeah, the crappy thing is that it boots to recovery, so it's not like it's a completely dead. Feels like there's just something missing.
did you install the kernal with the aosp jb rom? im wondering if apx is written into the oem kernel and was taken out of the jb kernel..
The ROM has the new JB kernel incorporated into it, so it seems. You might be onto something about that, but from scanning the forums there were quite a few people who couldn't boot APX mode, and many of them just had faulty cables. I'm really hoping this 3rd cable works. I'll know in a week or so.

Since laptop is not recognising the tablet in APX mode try this, plug it in APX mode and o to device manager of your laptop.... there it should show up under other peripheral devices or unknown devices Sopwith a exclamation symbol... right click and choose update/upgrade driver.. I suggest you download and unzip "naked driver" from the easy flasher forum..
Once its updated and driver is in place it should do the trick of recognizing in APX mode... try it.... I hope you understood

It's not a driver problem, it seems to be a physical connection problem. There is NOTHING that appears on the computer. No connection sound, no unknown devices. Either our USB cables are bad or the device isn't entering APX mode.
It's strange that my USB cable is still charging the transformer....and before this it worked great for mass storage. I have a feeling you may have wasted money buying a new USB cable. As I don't believe that's the problem. I also think that APX isn't in the jb kernel wich means we cannot get any files to the internal sd or use easy flasher...

I had ordered it as an extra before I even updated the device. I just don't see why the kernel wouldn't have APX mode. Maybe we could get someone else running this ROM to try APX mode? I can't post in the dev forum to see if maybe we did something incorrectly.

Which ROM are you using ? I'm using AOSP JB running on harmony kernel and it works just fine... have you installed Asus sync and tried whether it recognized your tablet? Also try different USB port... you can always wait for new cable but mean there is no harm in trying different stuffs out... BTW if tablet is charging then cable is fine....

The same happened to me and the only way out was to install the latest stock firmware from the Asus support site.
To do this all you need to do is the following...
Go to the Asus support site http://support.asus.com/Download/Options.aspx?SLanguage=en&type=1
Download the correct firmware for your device
Rename it to EP101_SDUPDATE.zip
Put it on your MicroSD card
Boot into Asus Recovery (by holding down the power and - buttons together and then +) and install the Firmware
Once it reboots, you'll have the latest,un-rooted stock Asus ICS 4.0.1 firmware.
I hope this works for you, It did for me.
holding down power -vol together brings up wipe data or android symbol.......nothing will read the sdcard with the update file in it....
Hi guys, I really hope someone can help me.
I accidentally deleted the boot partition on my vodafone smart 2.
I was trying to install the original recovery that came with the phone before the OTA update2 using a tool from roeddie BUT, I forgot to put all the images in the same folder as the tool and the tool ended up deleting the boot partition without having a boot image to flash, and now I have a phone that is stuck in the white screen with the green android in the middle =(
btw, if I "reboot" if and quickly plug the usb cable in I get and unkown device in the device manager with this ID VID_0A5C&PID_2132&REV_0204
:crying::crying::crying:
With the program that you flashed it with can't you just download all the required sectors (boot, recovery, Rom) and just reflash?
Sent from my SGH-T999
No, the computer does not recognize the phone anymore =(
To my knowledge every Android phone has like a "apx or apb mode" or something of that nature(don't quote me on that lol) didn't you have to go on some sort of mode to use the application?
Sent from my SGH-T999
Yes, I had to power the phone holding volume down + power, but that won't work anymore =/
Ok now i had this happen to me with the Asus transformer tf 101 i flashed only the Rom and the tablet wouldn't even return on but it did go to apx mode, where the screen would show nothing, basically off, but with the right drivers my computer was able to recognize it and I flashed the boot.img, recovery.img, and Rom hopefully you should be able to do the same thing.
Sent from my SGH-T999
But the computer does not recognize the phone when I plug it, usually it shows something in the device manager, but now it shows nothing at all, except for when I quickly plug the usb cable right after it powers up, but apparently that hardware id is from some broadcom wireless something.
I don't know i never has experience with that phone , did you try to boot into recovery?
Sent from my SGH-T999
It was the first thing I tried, but I guess before it goes into recovery it needs the boot partition, which is gone.

I tried to flash cleanRom v1.1 but that only made things worse, now I don't even get to the Samsung screen. I originally used mobile Odin to get the 4.1.1 update but when I did that I started getting a very bad looking multi colored pixellated screen ( see attached) on boot between the tab logo and Samsung logo screens but it still booted, after attempting to flash cleanrom I get stuck on that same bad looking screen. I don't know what to do at this point, I'm still able to get to download and recovery, I need an android genius to help me please I'm begging you

This is because incompatibility between bootloader and kernel LCD identification. Almost all custom ROM not touch second bootloader Sbl.bin partition because not understand this incompatibility will reproduce this problem or fully understand Sbl.bin partition is a very dangerous area. Flash a full package stock firmware (have MLO and Sbl.bin inside) will resolve your problem.
I got my stock firmware from the thread posted by Sergio_f, does that firmware have those files?

I have the same issue - please help
What I did:
My device Samsung Tab 2 P5113 was on bootloop. I do not remember which version of Android was running on it. So, I followed this forum and using ODIN flashed 4.1.1 stock ROM. The ODIN process was successful. Device restarted -but stuck in starting process. Instead of waiting for couple of more minutes, I powered off the device and then tried to restart it.
It didnt start. It is completely black, even after connecting to PC, no change, my pc not able to detect the device in Device manager.
I am guessing I have flashed wrong Stock ROM 4.1.1 instead of ICS stock ROM. What should I do? I cannot redo this step because ODIN is not recognizing the device.
PLEASE PLEASE help.

The forum I followed is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1704668
The ROM I flashed using ODIN - P5113UECLK7 (4.1.1)
additional info: I charged the device over the night, but no luck. Please look into it.
Are you trying to charge from a wall outlet or usb.

I tried both wall charger and USB charging - no impact.
However, I press Power + vol down button, in device manager it is showing as OMAP 4440 (no drivers installed).
Will there be any chance to make work from here..? Point me any post who used OMAP flash recovery for P5113. I didnt find one.
thanks.

Install a non touch version of cwm and use the volume rocker to select things and the power button to confirm.
Might wannna flash a stock ROM and see what happens.

I have flashed CWM and then flashed the stock firmware and it did not help.
The problem im having is the touch panel firmware version is showing (ELNA-ffff-ffff) it seems as if the firmware did not install correctly.
i have found a hidden munu when you repeatedly click on the (touch panel version) in settings, about phone. it seems to allow us to flash firmwares for the touch pad and camera.
Is it possible to extract the firmware from a working tablet so that i could try and get the touch screen working again? i have no idea how to do this myself so would appreciate it if someone who understands how it can be done could try.

"So I put my phone into airplane mode and threw it... worst transformer ever. -.-" -My friend
Hi.
I got my hands on a tab, running on Android. I have no idea about the manufacturer; however, the boot-up screen says ATLAS.
The issue is that whenever I try to Power the device on, it gets stuck on the boot screen for hours together, following which the battery drains out. I can't even get the device into download mode as the Volume keys are touch-based.
I tried charging the device to 100% and yet it was stuck on the boot screen. I also tried pressing the power button for 30 seconds (as suggested on the net) and yet the device failed to boot.
If the device needs flashing a new rom, please provide instructions for that as well!
Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you!
Note: The only hardware buttons on the device are the Power-button and the Home-button.
flash the firmware if you have ! or cwm backup or go to service center !
Well.. I guess the tab you bought is not a new tab, right?
Whether it is true or not, try to connect your tab with a PC first to find out if the PC is able to read it.
If yes, try to find out a compatible ROM for your device. Let me know if any more news with your tab

You are right. The tab isn't new and it belongs to a friend of mine. And yes, the PC isn't able to detect it. Since the tab is able to make it till the boot screen, I thought I could enter download mode and go through the process of flashing CWM through Odin, but that seems to be a pain as all the volume buttons are touch based and not the hardware ones.
If I can get into download mode, I suppose I can get it into working condition (after finding a compatible rom, of course!).
