G2/Desire Z hard rubber case - G2 and Desire Z Accessories

This is just kinda a review of this case. I got it about a month ago off of eBay for $3.70. It was shipping from Hong-Kong, so it took almost a month to get here. It is titled "hard rubber" but its pretty much plastic with a slightly rubbery feel. It has all of the right holes for the mic, light sensor, speaker, all of that stuff. I don't think that it will protect the phone that much from drops because of the Z hinge, but definitely from scratches. The rubberiness gives you a good grip on the phone in you hand, but doesn't get stuck in pockets. When the phone is open, the case doesn't get in the way of the keyboard at all.
What I don't like about this case is that its not very removable. Its pretty much impossible to take the case off without breaking the clips that secure it. Now three of the four clips that secure the back part have broken off of mine, just because I had to access my SD. It still stays on, just kinda wobbly.
I would recommend this case, just because it's so cheap. If you need to get to the battery door, I would recommend buying a few extras so you don't have to wait for a new one to arrive if you break the back like I did. Here is a link to one on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Black-Hard-Rubb...Accessories&hash=item2c5b6e8929#ht_2248wt_936 Its not from the same seller that I got mine from, but this this seller is in the USA so the shipping will be faster and it is cheaper.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions for repairing the clips I would appreciate it.

nice
nice find there. thx phatride... hopefully as our phone gains popularity we'll start seeing some decent accessories.. i know that myself and a few others are anxiously awaiting a legit tv out cable.. or even a usb splitter to allow for charging and music playback at the same time
That is cheap! I'll keep an eye on this one... my poor phone already got scratched in several places, and I've been wanting to get a decent hard casse for it.
Not sure I'd trust a charger that cheap, but no doubt the OEMs get them for much less than we pay for at the store.
Wow thats almost so cheap u gotta try it lol...
Too cheap. I had to order it also.
Watch the whole reson why everything is so cheap because its not UL approved. My house will be burnt down with in a week
But the price might be worth it for the screen protector and case alone, power stuff aside.
sorry, double post
So i got the package today. First impressions are pretty impressive. The chargers and usb work great, no problems. The case fits well and is has a soft rubber feel. Has a lot more grip than naked phone. Phones slider isnt a snappy but the difference is minor. The screen protecter is terrible! Has a gritty feel and make the screen a lot more unresponsive, the walmart protecter sheets are alot better.
Overall, I am impressed. You cant beat the press and the only thing i am dissapionted in is the screen protecter. After some time has past, about a week or so, i will give an update on the durability of the products.

Yikes, screen protector is what i need most :\
Nice, thanks for the quickie review.
So the screen protector sucks. Tell me more about the case, if you don't mind. How's the fit, the build quality, and what does it protect? Does it have an opening for the lanyard loop? (or stylus looop lol) You mention the slider isn't as snappy... is it rubbing somewhere?
The bottom covers everything except the camera, flash, speaker, microphone, stylus loop, power cord access, and the buttons. The top is kind of like a frame around the phone. The finish is on the clamps rubed off from the when phone closing. The finish on the front and back is still in perfect condition. I like the feel alot, its very soft, kinda like velvet. I think the snappiness is getting worse though, which is weird because i thought it would get better. I see this case as a good temporary case until nice ones comes out. Its good assurance that when I drop my phone it will not get scratch/chipped.
I've seen a black rubberized clip-on case for about 14.95 at Amazon. Anyone using that one yet?
To be honest, now Im kinda confused. I recently took off the cover and reinstalled it and now the slider smoothness is perfect. I guess it depends on how well you put the cover on.
Thanks, sounds like it's not a bad case, then. All in all, seems like a good deal! If I can't find a case I like more by my next paycheck, I think I'm gonna get thiss bundle.
Well one of the plastic clips broke on the top unit so the unit is useless now. Barely paid anything for it so i doesnt really matter. There was no wear on the case surface. Only defect in this case is the clips, they splenter off easily. Hope we find a more durable case.

I had them since feb 15 all worked but I had to swap the usb cable and use it on the lg charger since windows 7 wouldnt detect the phone, but it would charge, so i have the LG usb cable on my computer and the other on the charger, the snap on grip is great, had to take off a few times to clean under it, but other than that no problems, the car charger worked perfect, I recalibrated my screen and the screen protector worked fine too.
Oops forgot to recalibrate with the protector. I am bummed my case broke after 2 weeks of having it though, i liked it.
I just got my bundle today. The case is really nice. It fit my expo perfectly, no rubbing or anything. I just hope it will last longer than 2 weeks.
Screen protector does look really cheap. Doesnt matter though b/c I already bought an invisible shield for it.
I've been putting off buying this because , well.. Amazon wants you to store your CC number on their site for future use.. I don't like that, but even a car charger at 8 clams is a super bargain. Add in a second usb cable and it's a steal. The case is 3 dollars alone. Not sure how they can sell so cheap.. must be build using child slave labor in Ecuador.

Original HTC leather case/pouch PO S520 review [11 may]

Hi guys,
I have just bought the PO S520 case for my Desire. What can I say? First impression - a nice case with a sleek minimalistic design.
The leather quality is good, you can actually smell that it's real leather (not the faux leather as sold plenty at eBay). The leather is quite soft, you can bend the case very easily if you want to. There are also two.. erm.. "hardening plates" inside the case itself that hold its shape so that it does not feel too soft just like a piece of leather. The "plates" are quite soft as well, apparently made from thin plastic or hard paper. Those are nothing that you can actually see, as they are "sewed in" into the front and rear part of the case. I hope you understand what I mean.
The ex-Blackberry owners having those super-hard-leather-cases that feel like leather but are hard as a rock - no, the PO S520 is not like one of these.
The inner lining is made of some kind of a soft polyester fabric (the one you meet quite often on the inner part of skiing winter gloves, for example). The quality seems to be ok at a first glance.
The phone fits nicely in the case, no parts are sticking out.
The pouch felt a bit tight for the Desire at the first time, (specially the lower part) So i tried to see how stretchable it is. On my way from Tottenham Court Rd to South Kensington (20 mins roughly) I was trying to stretch it with a mock-up Desire (the one they use at stores for display purposes) inserting it slightly angled, holding the pouch a bit skewed etc. When I arrived to work the pouch already felt much more comfortable. So, the verdict is ==> Yes, it does stretch.
As for the pull-out strip. I was very worried about this one as it actually wraps around the whole lower part of your phone when it's inside the pouch. And, of course, when you pull your phone out, it experiences a lot of friction. I was afraid of the phone's soft-touch coating to disappear with time. Looking more carefully has shown that HTC has at least thought about this thing and has made the "inner" side of the strip (the one that faces your phone when inserted) a bit more silky and glossy that might *cough* help the soft-touchiness to live a bit longer.
One pleasant thing to notice was a small magnet inside the end of the pull-out strip. Thus the end does not flutter around but sits tight attached to the case at all times.
A bit less pleasant thing to notice were the inner stitches. On one of the pics showing the inside of the pouch you see two black stitches on the inner-backside. Those are not very flush and may leave "soft-scratches" on the backside of your Desire, so be careful or ask your mum for a solution, she definitely knows how to handle the stitches I personally do not think that this is a real issue as the stitches are nothing "hard" or "sharp".
Right now I have used the pouch for some 90 minutes. Will keep playing with it for the rest of the day and will update the review if needed.
If you have anything to add - don't be shy
Cheers.
Thanks much for your review, very detailed. But could I ask where did u get this case? I thought its due for release on 15th..0.0''

D'oh! Should've looked for it cheaper - ah well, only a fiver!
I ordered one and its been already dispatched from KingofGadgets.(can ne ordered at amazon.co.uk)
Received mine this am, very good quality, looks the part but wow! is it a tight fit I'm glad I was sitting on my couch when I tried it the first few times as I dropped the phone 2 or 3 times as I was trying to push the phone into the pouch, I imagine it will ease up over time but I would be careful when using it initially.
Dont forget to insure your phone.
Thanks for the review, have one on the way...
Thanks for writing this, I am looking alot at cases atm and this one is definitely a contender for 2 reasons, A being an original case and B it's quite cheap, and C (I know 3 reasons ) its simplistic in it's appearance but seems functional.
I would really like some more pictures of the phone fully inserted though. Despite that it appearently is a tight fit when you first receive it, I kinda wonder how big it is/makes the phone.
// Cole
HD2 one was just as tight, got loose as you use it so not worried about that - phone is insured though
When inserted, the phone is not "bigger" at all. The space it takes in pocket is almost the same - that was one of the reasons I bought it.
As for tightness - I did the following trick: I have wrapped my Desire's lower part in paper (took a half A4) to make it thicker. Then pressed the phone in (was not that hard, had no worries to damage the phone or case). Waited for some minutes, pulled the phone out. Voila! Now it fits perfectly - not too tight, not too loose.
As for the stitches - does anyone else experience this? Try pulling your Desire out so that the phone's backside rubs them slightly - do you see any marks? (yes, I know I am being waaaay too perky here, but still )
Sounds good, I've settled for the pictures you posted earlier (which looked quite good I might add), and ordered my own pouch from mobilefun.co.uk (quite low shipping cost of about 4£ within EU, very good).

I have tried to solve it by "polishing" the inner side of the case. I have a mock-up Desire (used for display ppses in stores) and i was simply pulling it in- and out of the case, pressing slightly harder on the back side, trying to "rub the stitches away". Two things I have noticed:
- the stitches did get "polished" and do not scratch the phone that much now, almost not at all.
- the soft-touch coating of a demo-mock-up is way better than the one they apply on the real phone. The mock-up doesn't get any scratches at all, even if I try to scratch it with nails! This is probably made by HTC on purpose, to keep the demo-phone look good in stores despite being touched and dropped a lot. As for the real phone - of course it's better for HTC to make us buy a new battery cover for some 15-20 GBP in the distant future. Nothing to blame them a lot about, actually, every company does smth like that
New battery cover, sir?

Cases / Shells - what're you getting / reviews:

Ultimately I settled on the trident case, pictures in this post. Thanks to gtny930 for finding it for us.
There are some other good case recommendations scattered through the thread, as I get the time I will source them up here for easier reference.

Hey all, i've been searching amazon off and on for cases for our wonderful device, and finally pulled the trigger on one:
Link here
Says it's by HTC, and I ordered from BlueMall, at $0.32 I couldn't not get it...
Rubberized case, two pieces to fit the slide function, looks like a winner.
I doubt it'll be as good as an otterbox as far as protection, but a buddy of mine has an otterbox for his Inspire 4G - and suffers from serious overheating problems. Since our phone already suffers from that with the stock battery i'm gonna pass otterbox by on this phone. (Anker 1900 battery solved overheating problems for me)
Anyways, at less then $3.50 shipped, seemed like a fantastic deal.
Meantime, I have a screen protector and bodyglove on it now, which seems to be a good temporary fix until some proper protection was available. Love the glove, but to me it's only a temporary solution.
What're the rest of you doing for a case or protection for your phone? I'd love to hear about it.
ArmorSuit and HTC Messenger
I got this:
http://www.amazon.com/ArmorSuit-MilitaryShield-Protector-T-Mobile-REPLACEMENTS/dp/B0058XMYDU/ref=sr_1_3?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1314661800&sr=1-3
I posted "customer pics" of what is looks like on my phone too at Amazon.
I'm coming from the G1 and was used to the G1 sleeve so I also bought this:
http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Messenger-Pouch-HD2/dp/B003DZ13OG/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1314661896&sr=1-1
It's a nice fit and doesn't stick out the top.
As a side note.. I also bought the case you posted. I like it but it won't fit over the ArmorSuit and I really like how the suit looks and feels on the MT4GS. The phone with suit fits well in the pouch...good combo in my opinion.
Found this on Ebay. Still waiting for it (and MT4GS) to come. =[
I'm not allowed to post links yet so just put a dot in between.

MT4GS Cases / Shells
The rubberized hard Body Glove shells offered by T-Mobile (and sold on Amazon, eBay, etc...) are bulky and are missing holes for the microphone above the camera lens. I ended up buying the full body Invisible Shield and it looks great. The only problem is that they didn't include a piece for the bottom front of the phone (under the buttons and around the touchpad). I can put a hard case over the shield if I want, for extra protection or to just change up the look.
I have the solid black case. Just some things to note. First, the back piece is very tight, and I don't think it will ever fall off. However, when removing and replacing the cover, the clips can easily scratch your phone. Second, one or two clips may not actually "clip" to the phone, but rather just get stuck near the top so it still holds from pressure. This really isn't noticeable, but it leaves indents from the pressure on the phone's case. In addition, the clips scrape up against the backside of the screen when sliding up the phone, and over time, start leaving a very noticeable mark. I corrected this with a just a strip of tape over where it was scraping.
The protector for the sliding part of the phone was a bit of an issue. It clips very tightly to the phone, but the clips scrape a lot against the edges of the phone next to the keyboard. In addition to making it a little more difficult to slide the phone, it leads to wear overtime (noticeable wear actually started in less than a few hours of normal use for me). I corrected this by actually cutting off the clips, and using double sided adhesive to stick that part of the case on. It doesn't scrape anymore, but at the same time, it just doesn't look good as the case doesn't properly hold together.
I don't really see how much of this can be fully fixed. I used to own a G1, and I didn't notice the issue of cases scratching the phone until it was too late, but I was able to notice it on my MyTouch. I'm hesitant to go for the BodyGuardz. I had one on my G1, and though it was nearly invisible protection, and protected 95% of the phone, I ended up dropping my phone and it landed on a sharp rock on part of the 5% that happened to not be covered (which ironically actually are the corners of the phone, where it is very likely to land on).
I'm actually a fan of the body glove case. I'm just waiting for something with more clearance because of the anker battery. I've heard goods things about the otterbox, but it is kinda bulky.

I was going to edit in my response about the case I got in the first post - but after this one I quoted I need say not much more.
I really want to like the case, it feels nice and looks good on the phone...but it makes it too much of a pain in the ... to get the back of the case off.
I didn't realize how often I pop the back of the phone open to swap out memory cards until I put the case on.
It lasted on my phone for about 3 hours before I took it off...and it scratched one corner of my phone when I did it. Scratch isn't bad, and it'll probably buff out over time, but it's the first damage the phone has suffered - ironically from the thing that was supposed to prevent this.
If you are never going to pop open the back of the phone to get to the memory card, and you don't mind the backside of your screen-half of the phone getting scratched up when you slide it open - then this is a pretty decent case.
I think the scratching the back of the screen part can be solved by using a knife to cut a sliver off the part that sticks op, then maybe using a small piece of electrical tape to cover that clip.
I like it, I want to like it, but I can't use it - I take the phone apart too damn much for a case like this to be practical.
I'm on the lookout for a gel-type case now. Think that'll be the perfect solution. If anyone finds one, please mention it here.
I got the black cheap case today. After reading the reviews I knew better than to just throw it on there. So I took a small metal file that I have, and proceeded to shave each clip down just a little. After a few trials I got the clips shaved down enough that they all fit and are not pressing against the bottom of the screen hard enough to scratch it.
The coating on this case was not really rubber. Its more of a dusted flat black. It's not slick to the touch, but it doesnt grip like the rubber of the phone.
The phone still fits into the generic style T-mobile mount. But its not as secure as without. I can turn it upside down and give it a light shake without coming loose. So hopefully it will be fine.
I got my psychedelic cover and I'm not very impressed with it. It makes the phone very bulky and awkward to hold (maybe because of my small girly hands -_-).
I find taking the back cover off particularly stressful because I'm scared I'd rip the screen off the keyboard.
Protection wise I haven't dropped my phone yet to see what kind it would provide but I'm guessing it wouldn't fall off the phone if dropped.
Haven't seen any dents or scratches caused by it.
I think I'd prefer it if it had a more rubbery feel as the texture is kind of smooth and slippery.
Overall, I'm satisfied with it but I wish I could figure out a way to take off the cover without the fear of destroying it. Haha.
Lily.

Quick question - in the pictures you uploaded to Amazon the phone back and sides seem to have a checker pattern. Is that pattern due to the protector?
The otterbox exists for this phone? Or you speaking generally about the otterbox product line?

Yes, it's a woven "carbon fiber" pattern. I took the pictures at angles where the light shows it more clearly. I think it looks nice and provides a "non-slip" surface as well without adding any bulk to the phone when you want to use it, which I personally prefer.

Thanks for linking this and posting the pics on Amazon., I'm going to order one today.
Thanks. I ordered one and installed it yesterday. The front and back went on great. I had more trouble with the sides but that is because I am not the most deft person around. There are a lot long thin pieces but MT4GS has a lot of moving parts. The phone looks great from the front. But the back has a bubble or two - again my clumsiness.
I wonder how long Otterbox will ignore this phone? Annoying....
Meanwhile, this HTC shell is gettin it done. Only complaint is that its not Otterbox.

That's about the same thing I got that I posted about before - just mine is in black.
I know I said a few posts back that I wasn't going to use it, but I had to do something to try to keep it safe.
I've been using it for a few days now, and while I have my gripes, I suppose it's okay.
I got tired of not being able to put it down anywhere, for fear of scratching the camera lens. This case sits further down then the lens, so it isn't the thing the weight of the phone rests on.
Before, i'd have to find something soft to put it down on everywhere I went, which was annoying. I wouldn't put it in my pocket, because they are always full of dust and whatnot - that little grainy stuff gets into the phone and I didn't want that.
Now, with the case on, it doesn't fit in my belt holster anymore - so I have to put it in my pocket or carry it. Desperately seeking another solution but coming up short.
What i'm thinking about doing is drilling some holes in the back of the case, and attaching a belt clip to the hard case shell itself.
So now i'm looking for either a belt holster or a clip I can attach to the hard case itself. Whatever ends up happening, i'll get some pictures and put 'em up here.
What I really, really, really, really want is a soft-rubber case, like a gel case of some sort that can absorb shock - not some hard plastic thing.

Can you 2 that got this case tell me if it fits OK? I hate cases that feel like they are going to fall off after they are on...does this one do that? Specifically when you slide the keyboard up with your thumbs does the front part of the case feel like it would fall off because of your thumb pressure?
Just wanted to be sure it was somewhat well constructed...the $5 price tag just has me concerned.

No, it's fine. I've dropped the phone twice and the case hasn't come off. And it certainly isn't about to come off from handling/usage of the phone. It fits snug. Supposedly its made by HTC, if that means anything. The case does it's job without problems.
Just waitin for Otter.....

It fits snug, coming off accidentally isn't a problem. Both the top piece and the bottom piece are secure, normal - or even some exaggerated abnormal - use won't knock it off.
The longer I use the case the more it grows on me, I really like the silky feel of it. There have been a few situations already where having a case protected the phone - I haven't dropped it and hope I never do, but since it's becoming a portable video game system/controller amongst other things it can't be without one.
I suppose you could do far worse then this case, but i'd trade it for a gel-type rubber case in a heartbeat. Hard cases don't protect from shock damage.

Spigen Tough Armor & Proctector Glass

I know people has been talking about these items quite a bit, so here is my 2 bits as I just picked it up and put them on yesterday.
The Spigen Glass IS compatible with the case itself, as you can see in the pictures. The glass works just fine with all touch screen sensation and eventhough some say the glass cut out does not match, mine seems to do just fine. It is quite pricy though, at 35 bux from amazon, compared to the case for only 18, but you do get a discount from amazon or spigen for that matter, 15% off Glass .tR. total for both came out to be 47.73 with free shipping.
Now with the case, works fine, snug-fit, I've had otterbox defender with the rubber being so lose like it's over stretched and doesnt cover up the plastic case well, not on this one as the rubber actually goes on the inside of the PC case. I haven't tried any drop test or any of that...not gonna do that =P But if you read on amazon and see the reviews for 1 stars, all with similar problem. 1- Case too slipper ( to finely finished seeing the PC case is on the outside insted of TPU). 2 - heart rate sensor does not work.
1. The case is indeed too slipper to my experience after one night playing with it, nearly dropped it 3 times in 30 mins, and I was so sure I had good grip. On the sides or back of the case, there is really no rubber to increase friction except for the button replacement cutout, so unless you got real thick and strong callus, you ain't holding it by the sides.
2. Heart rate sensor worked for me just fine, I am assuming that people tend to press on it very hard, so the pressure cuts off the blood flow therefore does not scan. If you look at the cut out for flashlight and the sensor, on the buttom of it, there is a mini slope compared to the top. Sort of like a 40 degree cut out on bottom and 90 degree on top if you get what I mean...so finger tip and actually rest on the sensor just fine, may take a couple try to get used to it, but that's definitely not the cons of the case..
The case color is gun-metal....to be honest, kind of regret it now since its not as vibrant or as sleek as I hoped it'd be, so black would probably be the best way to go since the back cover does not have any speical design to be standing out with ligher colour choices...
Thanks for the review.
I ordered a this exact same case about 3 weeks ago, and Im still waiting for it to arrive.
I also have a iLoome Screenmate 9h screen protector on my phone, which came quickly after ordering but I have to say, that:
#1 Fitment was terrible
#2 Customer service is atrocious. I asked to return it, and they said I could return it only if I hadnt removed the adhesive protectors
I have this same case as well and I love it. I have big hands so maybe that helps but I find the finish to be fine, not as slippery as most people make it seem. I do not have one complaint about the case and received it in only 3 days after ordering it, although I'm in WA so not far from where it was shipped. I also bought 2 of the basic slim plastic Spiegen cases and the regular screen protector that came with it with this case with no isssues. I was also glad that it did not add too much bulk to the phone overall. It is definitely thicker than the basic case I got but I'm sure it would withstand some abuse pretty well.
I actually have this case in black and I really like it. After seeing your pictures I may pick up the gunmetal finish one day as well. I haven't tried a drop test with it but I believe it should be pretty good possible comparable to the otterbox commuter as far as drop protection goes if not as close as you can get while keeping the case slim. I'm about done buying cases for a while because I have this one, a black Otterbox Defender, and my element Recon CF should be here Friday or Saturday.
For $35 you don't get much. I have the UAG and I think that is more attractive. But ultimately I want the Janis leather.
have a look to my "Cases Comparison: Spigen SGP Tough Armor -vs- UAG Protective Aero GLXS5" here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729413
I definitively use the UAG... waiting to test it with wireless charging.

I am also waiting for my S5 wireless charging back to be shipped to test that out. Still waiting for the inserts from china at the moment.
Anyway, today, I took the the glass protector to the test...well...................that's just say it is not that "amazing" as it is advertised. If you look at amazon spigen's picture description...you see that they held a xacto to the screen, and I copied.
Well, result is fair I'd say, you can barely tell by the naked eye that there is any scratch on the screen, but if you hold it at a certain angle or with the right lightning, you can see "marks" on the glass, but it is not rough to the touch of finger tip; however, if you lightly glide your nail across the "marks"..."clump" "clump" "clump"....i really don't know what sound to use, but you should get the idea, it is scratched...I did a lot of cutting and swirving the blade around the glass, but there is about maybe less than 10 marks...so my guess is that it is tough, just not to the blade, but daily usage should never scratch it.
At this point, I am thinking it's probably the "layer" on top of the glass actually came off? whatever...I will live, so will it. I also got 2 cheap china version for replacement if I really need to anyway...just haven't try to see if they acutally align.
nice & helpful. I got this same setup. A black Spigen tough armor case with a Spigen "0.23mm rounded natural fit (smooth edge & light) tempered glass protector". It's a near perfect fit on the glass, just a fraction to small imho. There is a small groove around the outer edge of the glass, inside the inner edge of the case. just enough to collect some dust. but really not that bad. I had a cheapo quality case and plastic screen cover from best buy the first couple of days. this setup is much much nicer. i think maybe I would go with a thinner option than .23mm if I had to do this again. other than that I would recommend this for sure. it is nice quality. and I love how easy it was to get the glass protector on there without getting air bubbles and so forth.

Initially I bought the gun-metal option and almost dropped the phone a few times with that case. I then bought the black option and returned the gun-metal. The grip with the black option is much better with the soft feel coating..

Hmm....nice...I didn't know that there was a difference in the material they used. I thought it was just different paint, but I live in canada anyway, so for me to return and get a new one is not worth the hassle. I'll stick to this for now, until I get the OEM wireless cover anyway.
So I have received the Itian wireless charging adapter and the wireless charging pad today. Time to do some feed back.
First to describe the picture attached.
1. Wireless receiver from Itian.
2. Wireless charging pad from itian.
3. Wireless charging pad from aliexpress.
4. Wireless charging pad from Nokia DT-900.
First, the adapter, is not thin by all means, I reckon the OEM cover will also be made thicker like the S4, while maintaining it's waterproof ability, bigger rubber ring I suppose. If you were to use these ones, it will get caught in between the rubber gasket; therefore, making your phone IP67 non-existing. It is also harder to close on that one side of the case, render that you can still close it, but over time I would assume the plastic to actually bent, and when you remove the charging adapter, the cover will probably not close properly to be IP67 ready.
Now, this post is not here to say whether the different brand of pad works or not, at a inital test, they all work on a S4 with OEM back with the DT-900 at best performance, but I am posting more related to whether they work with the Spigen Touch Armor or NOT. From now on, review is based on Itian adapter in phone and phone is Spigen TA case.
The Itian pad takes a significantly longer time to be recognized by the phone. Phone does not pick up the wireless signal for at least 5 seconds, while Ali takes about 3 seconds and Nokia tops it by about 1 second. If the same receiver works on all 3 pads, it seems to me that Itian simply does not have enough coil to produce strong enough waves, and hence charging speed will also be significantly slower than the others...? Throughout the charging process, due to the weak signal, itian has start and stop the charging process so many times that the pad eventually comes to a halt of error, LED light flashing blue and red simultaneously. ( I hope neither my phone nor the pad is damaged during this event...)
Ali seems to just having a hard time to align properly, seems the coil is strong, but small, so the phone could be disconnected simply by the slightest wrong angle. Meanwhile, Nokia has the smallest and thickest pad among all, but when you place the phone on top ( this is the only pad that is acutally smaller than the phone, for what I have anyway) it not only picks up right away, and you really have no problem in charging speed issue nor alignment issue.
Ali one may seems strong but the broadcast range seems to be small, while Itian is about in the middle of no where, for cheap pads anyway. Nokia seems to win out-right in this one, charges just fine with or without the case.
To sum it up, DT-900 cost me 25 bux, and the others both cost me about 10~15 depending on seller and shipping cost. All in all, I suggest throw in double of your budget from getting a cheap no name to affordable brand name will save you the trouble getting a new case or replacing damaged battery or adapter.
My question is. Is the oem wireless cover gonna be released any time sooner? I'm afraid that will make impossible to use this covers. My other question is anyone bought already a fake cover? What's the difference?

I could not find any related publication on when it will acutally be released, but you can pre-order them anywhere from samsung to amazon and other cellular websites. I heard someone once said that Atnt store already carries it? doubt it tho. I have preordered mine from amazon at the same price that samsung sells, but samsung offers free tectiles to come with theirs. Some other sites has boasted their selling price which is kind of stupid to my opinion.
EDIT, just found this online, not official, just annoucement from a retailer.
"This morning B&H Photo places put a date on the Galaxy S5 wireless charging back, with shipments expected to start on May 10th. Users can pre-order the Galaxy S5 wireless charging cover from this well-known retailer and could see the back arrive before the middle of the month."
Thank you for your response. I'm heading to a Samsung store tomorrow just to check if they have in there or if they say the same thing about the day. Because I already saw in the forum that some people have the back cover and it's a little bulky. And I can't use the phone without a protective cover. Hope that it's compatible with spigen line
I went to a Samsung official store on London and they don't have any wireless covers. But if I go to Amazon and search there's a store that has them on stock. So on Monday I'm going to buy one.

On amazon.com. it says ship within 2 to 4 month, which is where I placed my order, but I don't think they have them in stock yet. I would assume Samsung stores to have them before anyone else to make the best profit for themselves. Some random purchasers have made comments among different websites about them picking one up already from the mobile stores, which I highly doubt...
I went to a Rogers store in canada, the guy there said he didn't even heard anything about it, he did NOT know such thing exists....so go figure.

Judging from the size of the cutout on the charging port, it does not look as if larger, "fat headed" aftermarket chargers will fit.The reason I mention this is because I just ordered this (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GDESF1I/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1H9NMCPZH97BO) 15 ft charging cable. Reviewers have mentioned that this cable does not work with their case on, and you have almost confirmed that for me. Thank you sir/ma'am!

Looking at the picture of your link, seems like you have purchased a standard USB 3.0 cord of which should be the same size on both end compared to standard USB plug for PC. I've attached a picture with my own USB 3 cord, WD brand for my external drive, it is round edged by a little fatter in the height wise, decimal mm difference. I have attached picture with dimention in CM along the post. It works perfectly with my case when I plug it in, so you might still be able to use it. The front rubber part of the case design is "loose" for the ease of use of the finger print scanner, so that is "movable" so to speak.
PS. Sir is fine =P
Now adays, people tend to use more wireless charging to save the hassel of plugging it and pulling out, it eventually wears out the charging port. On top of that, because of the waterproof cover, after you put on the case, it makes it even harder to open the cover if you have absolutely no nails like me. I keep the ruler by my table so I use the edge of the ruler to pry it open. Other than that, I rarely use the port anymore. Suggest in investing in a decent wireless charger and a charging back for rougly 50 dollars, or go with ebay for a 15 dollars all inclusive (less quality).

I too brought the Spigen 0.23 mm glass protector, and with in one week it had completey cracked acorss the width of the screen. These screens are not and hard, scratch prrof, as they claim. I contacted the customer services regarding their screen did not live up to the claims, and useless is a kind word to describe their customer services.
Dont get me wrong its a good product but dont think it worth all that money when, its not going to last that long. Im considering buying a new one.. but not sure yet, so currently have the bog standard screen protector which came with my Spigen case.

No, you are right. They are not as good as they claim to be, and in the free market, they are selling at a high price. Like I said, definitely not scratch proof as I have tested it, mine has not experience crack yet, but who knows. If you look online whether amazon or other spigen retails, lots of bad feedback of lining issue as well as customer service, especially customer service. They don't seem to replace or refund, nothing like that, as long as you have tried applying the glass, you are done. Even if it was manufacture defect, you still need to pay return shipping provided that you haven't remove the sticky 1 AND 2 side. Very minimal on defects, still has tho. I have ordered 2 cheap no-name brand from china on ebay as well as 2 cheap regular plastic film as back up. The phone will probably be gone before I really have to use up all 5 protectors.
I saw somewhere that there was a brand that provides life-time warranty replacement...I can't remember which one, someone here knows as it's on one of the threads. Do a search or someone can probably point it out for you. As far as where I stand, I got lots of cheap back up

Official Folio Case -> Hard to remove ?

My Graphite 128 is on the Fed-Ex truck due to arrive tomorrow.
My Black Folio case is sitting at home waiting for the phone.
Another user posted that the case is very difficult to remove and damaged his phone in the process:

I had been using the Adopted case since getting my second Graphite (first had cosmetic damage out of the box). It is really easy to get on and off and I've had no issues with it.
My Leather Folio case was delivered this morning (bought for those occasions I want an extra bit of protection) and so I quickly the 6P out of the Adopted and into the Folio. Nice snug fit, nice case. Magnet for screen activation etc.
However, here's where the problems start. Can I hell get the phone out of the Folio case, it is well and truly stuck. At best I can get one corner off (with some force) but that just makes the other three corners even tighter. There is no way I could get this off without damaging the phone. Cutting it off would be a very risky procedure.

So can anyone else comment on this?
Maybe I should send the Folio Back.
I got the folio a few weeks ago and I loved it. The quality was top notch, the phone felt solid with the case on. Unfortunately it's true that it's nearly impossible to remove the case. I got caught in a panic, thinking I would damage my brand new phone. I ended up having to bend and almost break the folio case, hurting my fingers, to finally get it off. HUGE design flaw, stay away.
I found a way to remove the case from the 6p with ease, but not before pulling my hair out for ages.
