Amazon sells the APCBU10BBEBSTD USB cable for around $2 -- be advised that this is a 3' cable which is barely long enough for desktop use.
The as-shipped cable (~5' length) with my T959 is the ECC1DU2BBE.
I haven't looked extensively for it, but did find it at a vendor I haven't used -- http://www.wirelessground.com/samsung-micro-usb-cable.html
Right now, I'm using my "left over" N900 cables, CA-101, which are more supple than the OEM cable and ~3.5' long.
Barely long enough for desktop use? I personally find the cable that came with the phone to be TOO long.. so i believe it's per person.

Anyone using a good wall charger for MT4GS?
I am having trouble finding one that has a cord of sizable length (in the 6' range). I often travel without my computer (no usb charging) and hotels often annoyingly put the outlets right in the middle of the bed and my cords don't have enough length to get to the nightstand.
I'm currently using the (overpriced) TMO branded ones, which work great but are much too short. I have a few of BestBuy's rocketfish branded ones that I used with my OG Droid that were great, but they're not working with MT4GS (too low A?).

Check Radio Shack. I got a microUSB charger for work from there that fits your description.
Just buy a longer USB->MicroUSB cable and use the stock wall wart?

This is the charger I use. I've been using it for a year and a half and it hasn't gone bad on me yet.
I picked up a cord that is like five feet long and rated at 1 amp for like ten bucks.

Went with cord and HTC wall adapter
Thanks for the replies. I did actually end up going with a 6' MediaBridge USB cable and the HTC wall adapter plug. Seems to be working fine. Would still prefer a longer cord, just wish a reputable company made one. But this setup is already an improvement.
the stock wallcharger is legit.
You mean the TMobile OEM? It is good, but way too short. The wall dongle adapter that comes with the phone is also great, I just had to find a long enough (legit) USB cable. Which I have, for the most part.
I LOVE the OEM charger for its spare USB port, which means I get two devices on one outlet, but ... ugh, just too short.
I lost my USB Power adapter today. Can I use the following for MT4GS?

Yeah, that will work.
It seems as if I have lost my charging adapter somewhere. I still have the USB cable part of the charger, but the block that plugs into the wall is missing. I tried to simply plug in the usb cable to one of my phone wall adapters, but that didn't work. Any idea of a replacement besides buying the $35 ASUS cable/adapter combo?
You can find them on Ebay and Amazon. Make sure that you get the correct plug because our tablet takes a special kind (15v). Other USB plugs (phones) will not charge your tablet correctly.
Here's one that I found doing a random search. I'm sure you can find them cheaper. This is the plug and cable.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Asu...ader_Chargers_Sync_Cables&hash=item5ae9bd8d82
I'm sure that either a Best Buy or Office Depot could order you one too. Probably be expensive though. Do your homework and you'll find what you're looking for.
Since I already tried 4 USB car chargers (Osungo Carjuice 2.1A, Belkin 2.1A, Ewent 2.1A, Belkin 1A) with several USB cables (my intention is to use this cable I got from dx.com), but none of the combinations succeeded in charging my N5 while using navigation on the road.
In the settings menu -> battery all of them display Charging (AC) when plugged in my car.
During night time they keep the battery around the same level and during day time the battery percentage even slowly drops.
I'm going to perform some measurements later today with Battery Monitor Widget and/or Currentwidget to get some numbers.
The stores close-by only sell this stuff for ridiculous prices, so I spent enough money on gas already. I haven't ordered anything online yet since it seems nothing is guaranteed to work and therefore I don't want to deal with the hassle of return processes plus shipping costs.
The only car charger that does work is the charger that came with my Galaxy Nexus car holder, but I never liked that charger since it doesn't have a coiled cable so the cable is all over the place across your dash and it has no universal USB connection to charge all kind of devices in your car.
Also I'm looking for a solution which doesn't require soldering of some sort.
Does the USB car charger + coiled USB cable which I'm looking for even exist and why is it so hard to just get a working car charger for your N5?
Today I did some measurements with Currentwidget and the problem lies in the cable which I got from Dealextreme.
When I tested with the USB cable which came with the N5 all chargers work fine.
Now I hope I can find a coiled USB cable which works just like the original N5 cable for a decent price.
Found one from Mediabridge, but it seems this cable isn't available in the Netherlands and on Ebay shipping costs are insane.
Does the 1A charger still charge the phone while navigating? Or is a 2.1A charger needed?

Both can charge the phone while navigating, as long as you use the right cable.
Very annoying since there is no way to tell which cable is good and which cable is not good.
This was also noticed in the following threads:
[Q] Terrible charge rate?
Need good car charger recommendations please
Discharging while using Navigation
Tried the cable which came with the HTC OEM Car Charger CC C200, together with a 2.1mAh car charger and it barely charged the N5 while navigating. The charging level went up 1% in about 25 minutes time, in comparison if you use the cable which came with the N5 the level will have gone up around 15-20%.
The Mediabridge cables (such as this one) should suffice (available on Amazon and Ebay).
Since those are not available in Europe and shipping costs are way too high, I now found an alternative from Speedlink. Hopefully this one will work just as good as the original N5 USB cable.
I am using PowerGen 2.1A car charger with 3' Samsung OEM usb cable and able to charge the phone while using Navigation, brightness at full, and streaming tune-in on LTE. Very happy with the setup.
I had a monoprice 10' usb cable, the thick version with cap on ends, the 3' samsung oeum usb cable works much better. Testing on my old phone Optimus G Pro, there are about +200mA improvement using the 3' samsung oem usb cable over the monoprice 10' usb cable. so make sure to use the shortest usb cable possible.
I'm searching for a USB Type C battery pack with the cable built in like one of these micro-usb packs :
http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Powe...107_img_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0HDYVPNM70TJTHNCHNMH
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007G51XOO...olid=2QEYCHUX5AT8W&coliid=IT14WCFNY6FJM&psc=1
Anyone know of any available yet? I know USB C is fairly new technology so I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't even exist yet.
And for the sake of sharing and discussing - what power accessories do you have and what's important to you? Do you always want fast-charging or is that not important?
If you already have battery packs like I do, I bought a few extra micro usb to USB c connectors to use with them.
I just use the small cable that came with the phone with my anker pack

Has anyone found any of these since the OP posted this question a few months ago?
I want one too!
I will try it!
I never actually trust the quality of the cables that come with these chargers. Something about generic cables bugs the $#!% out of me (and no, I'm not one of those who use $200 Monster HDMI cables)
If not one with an integrated cable, I'd settle for a well built one (with a C Port) that will fit into a large wallet (and thin enough to fit next to the phone in a shirt pocket) like this one:

Anyone know of one this size with a C-Port?
I've bought one of these:

I have one of those and it seems mostly fine, the only frustrating thing is that you can't charge the power bank itself from a type A to C cable, even if it is spec compliant. Mine only seems to charge from a C to C cable. This seems to be confirmed by reviewers on Amazon too.

huh. i wasn't aware of that :-/
hmmm it shouldn't be a big deal for me
I believe that is the same one (with different cover) as this one from monoprice:
http://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=108&cp_id=10831&cs_id=1083110&p_id=14202&seq=1&format=2
Anyway, still big for what I'm looking for. I just want a "top-off" charger (maybe around 2,000 mAh), that is C compliant and will will fit in my shirt pocket together with my phone.

I've tried to order that iVolver three times from three different vendors on ebay.
All three times they get stopped at the distribution centre in the UK.
still looking for a External Type C 3A battery pack for in Australia
I just got one of these
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ode=as2&tag=xaybzc-20&linkId=4VPEX6PDGSH5FDFQ
So far it works great. I just use the cable that came with my phone. It rapid charges just fine. Also I has a port for phones that use turbo charging and all. I can charge multiple phones at a time. I love it. Plus being 20100 mAh I can charge phones all weekend without having a wall charger. Fits in my cargo shorts side pocket just fine.
Ports:
micro USB in(for charging the battery)
USB c 3A (can also use this to charge the battery)
Quick charge USB port (5v, 9v, 12v)
Ismart (2.4v)
Hi all
Bit of a strange one,
I'm looking for a really fat USB A-C cable to charge my phone whilst in my car - the current cable will constantly get stuck under the i-drive controller and its a pain in the backside!
does anyone know of any exceptionally fat cables or a tape or rubber which can go over the cable which won't make it too stiff?
thanks
Put tape around the cord maybe?
I have one that's about three times thicker than traditional cables, it was also on the approved list, let me find the link

Check out the Type C, iOrange-E cables on amazon. I've had one since I got the phone last December and its probably the best USB cable I've ever owned. I've actually ordered 4 more since for family/friends that have similar phones. The great part is they have a 6ft option which i've found perfect for the car and since its a braided cable it doesn't really get tangled or anything. Good for replacing the one that comes with the phone too as it gives you a bit more length if you tend to charge it on a nightstand. Also, the cables are up to type C specs too, so no worry about frying the phone.
