I just received my focus on Sunday and I absolutely love this phone... Just have 2 quick questions... How can search in the marketplace to check if my apps needs to be updated... And also how can I repeat a song or album in my Zune music player app..

The phone automatically searches for app updates. When an update is available, it shows a number on the Marketplace tile.
As for repeat, shuffle, etc., just tap on the album artwork.
thats not always the case. Sometimes it takes ages for the phone to find an update available for the app. I think this was fixed in NoDo

it also takes time for the apps and updates to roll across to all regions (or servers that look after that region).

Not that i know. I remember when Boards Express rolled out an update. And i made a big deal like an idiot that there was no update available.
Marketplace didnt notify me. Didnt even recognise i had it purchased. But when i went and press buy again it recognized i had it installed and then offered an update.
It annoyss me a small bit right now that i dont really know when theres an update available. Works for some apps and doesnt for some. Wait till update for Omnia comes out now

I went for the plunge and among everything else I noticed that the Market no longer says Beta next to it. Paid apps on the way soon?
does it allow you to clear the cache and search history?

oh ok just realized that after i posted? I heard you can see full app names, it show when there is an update available and, *drumroll* you can report comments as spam, anything else new?
Also, when in My downloads, when you long press and app it gives you a list
Details(takes you to the market screen, comments, version, ect.)

Also new stuff for uninstall
on some apps and I don't know what flags it, but it will say "your purchase of this app has been saved, you can redownload this at anytime without repurchasing it"

they actually fixed the voice dialer.. now u say the name and it actually brings up the correct one.. and the voice search is really accurate.. i mean REALLY accurate

I agree..I also seem to be getting better reception in my house...could just be placebo effect though lol
Any way to get this in scandinavia? Its only available through market, and i cant access the paid apps sections from Norway

It's now running at v3.02, although to be fair I can't see any difference between this and the previous v3.01.... purely fix's one would assume.
The only thing which annoys me is each time it's updated it kills my settings and you have to go through the whole procedure again... i.e. Location, Clock skin, Weather Skin, and all other manner of boxes to tick/configure.
Why it does not draw from previous info beats me.... but I suppose that's the downside in a widget.

Thanks for the tip, tried that, but when i buy it, it just gets stuck on "Authorizing Purchase", and nothing happens :/

Not being able to purchase items really infuriates me.
Developers harp on (rightly so though) about supporting them and not falling foul to piracy but when you come up against stumbling blocks such as this it's no wonder certain titles get pirated.
Now I do not condone any form of piracy FULL STOP but in your case if the developer will not offer you the chance to pay other than the Market and you can not obtain it legally through pay sources then a search would 'possibly' bring up a pirated version.
I tell you this NOT to entice you to do this but because a Google search does list it as available.
What you do with it is entirely up to you..........

The only time Beautiful Widgets didn't save my settings was after a major version upgrade (like updating from 2.x to 3.0). All other updates carried over my settings perfectly.

Yes, you are quite right. It was the transition from version 2 to 3 which caused the problem.
Not sure what I thinking of at the time.
I got my tab in Norway yesterday and i noticed that the news and magazine section is not activated yet. Does anyone know when "Service will be available soon" is? Like 1 week, month, half a year?
Update: News and Magazines seems to be available to most people now, just open Readers Hub and click on Install. Personally i only got the update for Zinio.
If you don't get the install option try to go into "Manage applications" find the Readers Hub app and clear data, then start the app again.

Zinio isn't even available if you go to their homepage.
It was supposed to be relased this summer.
It appears to be available, as per some reviews. See PC World hands on with the Galaxy Tab.
So the question is, has it been pulled back due to some reason... or if it is to be made available in only select markets?
Either way, it's quite unfortunate, as Zinio was one of the features I was looking forward to in the Galaxy Tab.

UK: only Kobo e-books available, out of the 3 options in the reader "hub".
I found the reader hub apps, taken from the Tab, and I loaded them on Desire HD.
Zinio is working, and I was able to download the magazines that I purchased (I have a subscription from the time I owed an iPad). News papers are working too.
Why it is not working on the Tab ?

I've tried, this and it works.
If you install the zinio and press reader only, only the press reader app is available in readers hub.
If you install the readers hub as well, you'll end up with two applications "readers hub" and "ReadingHub", and in the later one. Zinio is available.
Downloading my Zinio subscriptions right now, unfortunately it crashed..
Update: Was able to download an issue now but the internal pdf-viewer doesn't seem to work so it is pretty much back to square one.

It seems to be a problem with Zinio on the new magazines.
When I try to download the new issue on iPhone, the app crashes. The old magazines (October or November) are working fine - download and read.
Same thing happens on Desire HD.
Where can I get the apps? Any idea?

I just bought a subscription and downloaded it... it seemed like the magazine would not load but zooming in a tiny bit opened the page?? It seems like the preview won't open/render properly.
I don't understand why this would happen. As I don't have any old subscriptions to try, I can't comment on the ability to load past issues. I wish Zino would fix this.... I can't be that hard to rectify!

Same here. On Macworld from August there is no need to zoom - I think they change the format from that time.
Let's hope they will come soon with a proper release app.

My problem was with the current issue of Popular Photography.... I really hope they can fix it soon... I love the idea of using Zinio on my Tab
So, I'm not really sure if this would be right forum to post about this. I suppose since N5 has the most Google Now integration it could be. Regardless, feel free to move this if it's not in the right place. Anyway, I'm actually getting a little frustrated by Google Now in the sense that it's spoiling shows. I normally watch shows online the following day after they air, and Google Now gives me news about the most recent episode which often spoils the episode...just figured I see who else noticed this.

Edit: I actually can't seem to find it. I clicked on that magic wand but it's missing the tv updates.

Next time you get a TV update, tap the three dots on the card and it should ask you if this information is useful or whether you want to keep receiving those updates, then tap "no" for the relevant question!

I haven't tried the three dots. But it does sometimes ask me when I swipe away a card "was this card relevant" and I usually say no. Sadly, they still show up. I'll try the three dots though next time.

To install the Google play store simply head to Apkmirror.com or Apkpure.com and download the store from there. After that you can install all your favorite apps from the Google play store it's as simple as that. One final note if you are in China you will need a VPN to be able to use Google services and the play store. Goodluck!

New Update has arrived enabling Aura lighting for calls and app notifications, other updates include network speed and November security patch.
*Cyan strobe light for incoming call.
*Orange strobe for missed calls or app notifications in general(default) but you can customize the color for each app.
By the way if you are wondering yes the led notification and Aura Lighting both work at the same time when you have a notification so if your phone is turned back or is up front you will not miss your notifications.

I don't see any major changes, just a minor update. Regarding Volte i am not sure because I don't use the feature although i have the option to activate it.

yesterday when i was playing pubg suddenly my screen got auto touch issue. that means when i was touching on left side of the screen the person is moving right side to the screen
once i restarted the mobile everything went back to normal. i don't know if its a defective screen or software bug but i was really worried. have you faced any such kind of issues

Most likely it's just a software bug, anyway i haven't faced such issues because I don't play resource intensive games like PUBG so I can't tell.
