Hello,
i recently installed froyo and i just rooted my phone, but im experiancing a lot of lag after the root. Ive been searching and i have been looking on the forums but what ive gotten so far is to Rom my phone to fix it.. a lot of people keep recommandign different roms saying cog, or vibrant hybrid, etc.. but as i was doing research for people who might have the same problem i saw that someone said something about a lagfix? idk whats a good rom how do i get this lagfix.i dont know if thats in the rom or not but some help would be really nice. any suggestoins or anything, ohh and i NEED to have tethering enabled so if anything takes it away please let me know.
thank you
Most of the popular roms on the development section have setirons kernel which adds a custom clock work mod recovery to your phone. With that kernel you can install a bunch of different lag fixes depending on what you prefer. I am running mikey's doc rom with the ext 4 lagfix. Check out his rom. All you need is clock work recovery since you're already rooted and on froyo.

you said you are running this one correct?http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=818030
Yeah thats the rom I am running. I even got hsupa to work but you don't have to do that of don't want to. Follow the instructions and you will be set. Remeber to back up all your data with titanium backup and take precaution when following the steps.
Fyi if you brick your phone I am not responsible. (Doubt you will though)
Have fun.

After long hard work ......i found that i can do it with rom manager ......no nv flash or watever .....whenever you flash a new rom you NEED a new clockwork recovery . I remember reading a thread saying that when you do it thru rom manager its a fake clockwork mod. So i just made another one. Now my baby is running cyanogen with g.bread gapps. Thank you anyways......gope somebody finds both of our answees beautiful.....now how do i put the black market n black search bar -like eaglesblood??

I cant seem to get my ##778# to work again now. Running DBAMF 1.8 and 1.8.6 its a no go. Its an HTC process, cant stop it or clear anything from it.
Maybe its part of the framework? Ive flashed a couple of the dbamf remix stuff as well, cant really confirm when it started happening after the main rom install.
Anyone running DBAMF roms want to try it for me?
no it dont work gingerbean and stock rom both worked for me

I'm having an issue changing ROMs. I was originally a CM user, but I've been running Evervolv for the last few months. I decided to flash CM again yesterday. Everything seemed to work fine for a bit, until I turned off the wifi and realized I wasn't getting a 3G signal.
I tried rebooting, reflashing, messing with the settings for quite awhile and nothing seemed to help. Eventually I decided to wipe again and flash a Sense ROM. I STILL could not get a 3G signal. After much experimenting I wiped again and flashed Evervolv back onto the phone. Much to my dismay, no 3G.
Finally I restored my nandroid backup I made before I loaded CM and surprisingly everything works just fine again and the 3G is back to normal. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? I'm not a noob at flashing ROMs, I've had a few different ones on the Shift and tried many on the Hero before that, but I must be making a silly mistake somewhere.
If anyone has any ideas or can point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it, thanks!
Unsure but evervovle had messed up my phone to when I first got my phone, i had to RUU just to reset... So I'm gonna say unless someone else offers a viable option, hit the 2.2 RUU

Thanks thronnos. If no one else seems to know the cause of this I'll give that a shot.
You said you nand back and now 3G is working.. So if you flash a fresh ROM now does 3G continue working or only while using the nand??
I tried to flash another ROM this morning, 3G still didn't work. Had to nand back again to get it to work.

I think your best option would be to run the ruu.
What recovery you using?

Thanks for your help guys, everything's working great again!
For anyone else who runs across this problem, going back to the RUU and rerooting your phone WILL fix this issue.
The ruu is a great tool to have. Glad you got it worked out

here is my story i had my g2x for a couple of months and loved it and i usually switch roms every month well since yesterday ive been frustrated because i wanted to try the new baseband it took me all day up until today to finally get it to install... so as im trying out roms to see which will work i finally found one, so as im restore my stuff back to my phone with mybackup pro (which was going for over 4 hours) its suddenly stop i get upset and i look for a quicker method i read about the kernel and started trying different ones and now mine phone keep restarting so now im going try a new rom to see if this will stop it from restarting...
WISH ME LUCK!!!

Im sorry, but i dont see how this required a whole new thread, it doesnt seem like you were asking for help. Im not trying to flame but its just my opinion.
If it was help you were asking for at least give more information like
Exactly which kernels you are flashing, what ROM did you flash.
Otherwise cant you just retry the restore with MyBackupPro?

Lol, I'm sorry I guess people read it in a different manner than I intended, like I said, I didn't mean to flame or anything I just stated my opinion, and I did try to help but I just didn't have a chance to come back and check if he added anymore info

UPDATE: i'm using a rooted stock rom 2.3.7 and faux Kernel 014 Open Beta Build 2.... so far everything is cool with the 3/2012 baseband im still have problems with mybackup pro had to restart it (it didn't restore all of my messages) i cranked up the cpu to 1555MHZ for when i restore my sms but its still taking a second per message it i have over 16000 message so i'm just waiting....
Thanks for the tips!!!
If you updated your baseband you can only use cm7 rc3 and the latest nightlies or stock 2.3.4 roms (kwes, buru) any thing else you will have no call audio... what do you mean stock 2.3.7?

Delete your messages. It's not your cpu, it's the memory card transfer speed that's causing it. It can't load 16000 messages instantly...
