download another rom and flash it, make sure you have the required partitions ie; Fat32, EXT4, LinuxSwap
can you still get into recover mode? power on the phone by pressing and holding the Home + Power button.
Let me know what you see.

Trying holding home after restarting - into recovery
Select Partition Card and follow the clicks.
Load a Rom onto the card using the MS Toggle
Flash a Zip from card
this might get better replies in the QA section.
Can I run this on Sapphire? Whens the next release date?

well, if it was a "while back" they probably don't have MS toggle ( mass storage, i.e mount sd over usb )
@OP
just get the rom onto your sdcard, power off phone, remove sdcard, put in adaptor , then in to your pc's card reader.
you will also want to upgrade recovery
RA1.7.0 is probably your best bet

Totally true FR.
Dont worry OP, Im bilingual in British :
To get the rom onto your sd card:
Power off phone, remove sd card and use an adapter to get a rom on.
This method can be used if your recovery does not support MS.

thats because you flashed it from cm5, nothing wrong with the recovery
issue is CM5+'s kernels
Since they can't boot to ROM the instructions on Amon_RA's page are perfect.
clockwork recovery's page does not give any detail on how to flash, infact it recommends you do it via ROM Manger, which can get you stuck for a bit
PS you can use Amon_RA's instructions to install Clockwork
I'm warming to clockwork, but it has some things I just don't like
No console ((((
No flash/action confirmation, ( trackball is not great, you sometimes slip up or down when pressing ... grrrr )

Hi,
I rooted my phone today and am now trying to install Cyanogen Mod. I followed all steps on their Wiki but now am facing a problem.
- The wiki says "Place the CyanogenMod update.zip file on the root of the SD card. "
- I placed the update .zip file on the root of the external sd card. Seems like that was not what was intended.
- I followed these steps successfully:
Boot into the ClockworkMod Recovery.
Once the device boots into the ClockworkMod Recovery, use the side volume buttons to move around, and either the power button or the trackball to select.
Optional: Select backup and restore to create a backup of current installation on the Samsung Galaxy S II.
Select the option to Wipe data/factory reset.
Then select the option to Wipe cache partition.
Select Install zip from sdcard.
Select Choose zip from sdcard.- The next step is "Select the CyanogenMod update.zip. "
The problem is I don't see the CyanogenMod update .zip file anywhere in that list. Seems like I may have placed it in the wrong sd card?
When I try and reboot it just comes to the screen with the giant S and goes no further.
How can I resolve this problem?
Adding some more information after reading a few other threads.
- Looks like I placed the cyanogen mod update .zip file in the external sd and not the internal one (stupid!!).
Now I cannot get back inside the phone to try and place it in the internal sd.
How do I solve this?
Connect the phone to the PC and mount usb in recovery. You should see a storage device in windows & then just copy the files on it.
Ok. Just tried that. After I select 'mount usb storage', the next screen says on the top:
USB Mass Storage device
Leaving this menu unmount
your SD card from your PC
I then see an option to unmount.
On Windows explorer, I don't see the device.
Thinking back, I may have unchecked 'USB Debugging' before I started the process (for some reason that I cannot remember now). Would that cause a problem?
USB Debugging should not matter because you're in recovery.
I've not understand at well the question. You want flash the CM9 from clockwork mod? I've a Galaxy Gio, but in my case i have only to:
1 - copy the ROM in the root( after flash with manager of Android, with an SD adapter or in the other possible way)
2 - backup the old rom from cwm;
3 - reboot in cwm and if i have mount errors of /cache /data or some other partition i format it and mount it manually from cwm
4 - flash the zip i've copied at step 1
Then you have to wait and at the end, reboot.
What goes wrong in these steps for you ?
EDIT: If you don't see the .zip try to remove SD and use a SD Adapter, so you can copy files manually. Or if you want use CWM you can mount the device connecting device with USB cable, go in clockwork and do "mounts and storage -> mount USB storage" and copy files in the root "/"
You can use adb push command in recovery to push files to the phone.
You can also use fastboot to flash image files to the phone.

Step 1 went wrong
I copied the ROM in the external SD instead of internal sd. Now trying the adb option to push the ROM into the device root. Hoping that works.

This guide is same as my gio guide. The ROM goes in the root of external sd, not in internal memory. Try to reinstall CWM if you don't find the zip.

Thank you my friend. This worked!
Little did I realise that this simple sounding statement above would require me to set up a complete android development environment on my computer.
I'm still not sure if all that was needed but I was finally able to get the files on my device by doing an adb push.
Lovely education for me today!
Glad it helped. Sorry I forgot to mention that ... it's kinda natural to me (having the sdk installed).

I am (or was at the time of this post) a complete noob with no programming qualifications but now I have gone through a crash course.
I now have my S2 running CM7.
hi
i have a optimus 3d p920 on orange (uk) (just unlocked to any network)
android version- Gingerbread 2.3.5
software version- V20d june 2012
everytime i try and put a rom on, the phone goes into boot loop (lg logo then unlit black screen)
i root using megatron
install ROM manager
install clockwork recovery 6.0.1
I download zip
plug in phone
cody zip to sd card but NOT external sd card (filemanager shows it as /mnt/sdcard)
go on ROM manager
click on boot in recovery
already done back up of original rom saved on sd card clockworkmodrecovery file
i wipe data/format
i wipe cache partition
then go i go into advance then wipe cache dev
then i go back on to menu
click on install rom from sdcard
find the zip then click yes to install
says its installed then i click reboot and then it becomes stuck
sometimes it would install CM10 or PACMAN (after turning it on and off for a while) then after about 5 mins would reboot its self and get stuck again
so i will then unplug battery, hold Vol up connect usb and open up lg support tool and then recover as carnt get into cwm recovery and install backup from sd card.
i have noticed in the mount/format tab that only the /data is mounted and not (as follows)
/external sd card
/sdcard
/system
/emmc
as they have mount next to them...
its driving me mental
so please help
(if posted in wrong section then sorry im new)
(also posted on optimus 3D general forum section just reposted on here just in case no one goes on that section for ages so again sorry if wrong)
Try to use cwm 5 oder twrp 2. I heard that cmw6 sometimes makes trouble.
Iv had cwm5 before and that bricked too. i have even tried cwm touch but no look
even when i click reboot in recovery on ROM Manager it bricks it.
is it a common problem with ROM Manager and p920?
I use HTC explorer (A310e). I accidentally erased my SD card by via settings panel. Now when i switch on my mobile it's not working and a white screen appears only with htc written on it. I removed the battery and then inserted it again but it is still not working. I need help. Please tell me what should i do?? I have rooted my mobile few months back. But i think it doesn't have to do anything with this as SD card erasing caused all this. I tried to do factory reset but pressing power+ volume down button but it didn't work aswell. I am not good with mobiles so i don't no what to do next. PLEASE HELP ME.
Have you done a factory reset or just wipe the SD card? If you did factory reset you got into boot loop .and you have to install any custom ROM to get out of it..
Sent from my Explorer A310e
Flash a new ROM
Chill....That's what i have done when i started this..Flashing stuff
Flash any custom ROM--but i suggest this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2519052--ROM thread
but if u dont know what to flash...simply flash this
http://www.mediafire.com/download/h4sj11t5ghr77ey/WS+4.0+(lite)+B+#5.2.zip
If u increased internal memory with SD card partition and Flashed ROM on ext..dont remove memory card from the slot
AND dont to FACTORY RESET (do ONLY if u want to try other ROM)
i have successfully install the ROM as per xda suggestion but after that i how the my phone not support the sd card its show like "insert the sd card" before that its working what can i do ?

First of all check in your ststem foldef that you have an app called media handler is present in your device or not
Where can I found any path I try but I don't know where is it present.
Path is system/app or system/priv-app
No there is no any folder like system
What
Pleaae do not say that ever never again in your device there is a folder named syatem and your android runs from there only please check it again
Sorry
I found that using es file I cross check media app and media PRI app but there a no any app called media handler I show one app called media pro cider.apk and many others
After installation of ROM when I m trying to reboot phone its not rebboted just vibrated again n again n displaying nothing if I remove the battery than connect to again than only its responding so what can I do?

Power off your device.
Andbafter 1 min switch onn it again and tell me what happens
suppose my phone is now "ON" after that if i switch off than i press the power button than its "ON" but suppose if i press "vol+ + vol- + power button" for going to CWM than its not responding just vibrating if i remove the battery n reconnect than only i go into the cwm n after going there if i select the reboot system than phone is reboting but its not switch on just vibrating agian n i have to remove the battery again.
