[Q] Streaming a DVD ISO: is android unable to do something a US$99 PC could do?

Hi guys,
I have a very simple problem:
- I have several android devices,
- I have ripped all my DVD to my NAS (ie all my DVD ISOs are on my NAS),
- I cannot play a single fuc*ing DVD ISO from any of my android device!?!?!?
And when I ask "how can I do?" (eg "how can I stream my DVD ISOs to my android device?"), the only answer I can get is "just convert your ISOs to an mkv/avi file". But I WON'T. I have hundreds of DVDs and have other things to do in my life than converting them to mkv/Avi.
I know that there are genius here, who can do miracles. So my question is simple: can you do a miracle? Can android play/stream an ISO file from a NAS/network location? Or is it to ****ty? Is finally android unable to do someting a US$99 pc could do?
Can I keep my nexus7, Galaxy nexus, galaxy note? Or shall I switch to win8?
Please help me/them. I feel I am running out of patience.
Kind regards,
Mahieu

Yes, you can read a dvd on android, even stream it, free software, no conversion

I think XBMC can do that.

If your hunch is correct it would be the second software ever with mine

[APP] Desktop Movie

Hi there guys! Since I still don't have permission yet to post on Windows 8 Development and Hacking, I will just share it here. Have you ever wanted to play movies on your desktop background and use it as an animated wallpaper? Back in Windows Vista, it has a default application called Dreamscene that let's you do this kind of thing. In Windows 7, Push Entertainment developed Dreamscene, a paid application to retain that feature introduced in Vista. Push Entertainment continued developing Dreamscene compatible with Windows 8 and another paid application called Deskscapes 8 developed by Stardock. For those who want it free (which I know a lot of you do), Let me introduce this freeware called Desktop Movie developed by Falcosoft. What's good with this one is that it's resource friendly because it doesn't use a lot of RAM when running this application.
Note: You may also need to install K-lite Codec Pack to play other video formats not natively supported by Microsoft's default codec pack. You can download K-lite Codec Pack on their official website.
See attachment for the application and video proof.
A little thanks will do if you like my post and please post some feedbacks!
Have fun and more power!
P.S.: This is also working on previous versions of Windows.

[Q] Shield Android TV 3D support

Hi guys,
Just order for myself a Shield Android TV pro. Does anyone know if its support BD3D iso play?
I have 3D projector Optoma 1080P and wanna know if I can use it to watch a 3D movies with shield.
The Archos Video Player with the codec pack installed says it'll play 3D movies, but I haven't tried it yet. It also lets you stream video and audio from a DLNA server on your network.
Kodi is 3d compatible is it not?
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
i believe ive seen settings saying 3d in kodi, for what it's worth
kodi = 100% 3d compatible including sbs, top/bottom and interlaced (if your device supports it) and even has 3d options for the interface.
It also playes 3d content in 2d if you need to
Nobody really answered your question because people still have a hard time understanding that BD3D or 3D ISO are 100% different than 3D MKV files. Most of these players and Kodi have no issue with 3D videos using SBS or TAB, but those are also half HD resolution and just blow hardcore on a big screen. I am using a BenQ W1070 on a 100" Studio 4K Reference screen, and even with the 80% improvement in picture quality over a standard screen, SBS and TAB is unteachable. You need to get a player like a HiMedia Q10 4k or a KD Links A300 (just a US modded version), or a similar type player with a HARDWARE 3D capability. The reason being is Kodi does not understand 48hz video files and just plays them as a single image 24hz file. ALL 3D ISO files are Framepacked in 48Hz. The players hardware needs to be able to render the left (24hz) and right (24hz) eye images (every other frame), sync them together stacked aka framepacking, and play them back at 24hz to your projector. It is a hardware process and no software can do it (at this time). Even PC's with PowerDVD still depend on the video card to render the 3D image from a hardware decode. That being said, it is a Nvidia product, and the APU itself is technically capable of it, but someone will need to compile the framework/instruction into a "native" through player. I am currently investigating if the Nvidia Shield can be rooted with a custom rom to do this, because other Android based Chinese made players tend to have a 6 month lifespan and are NEVER resolved. The player you bought is no doubt better hardware, just more commercially accepted meaning no 3rd party movie experience due to copyright issues.

Xperia 5 Cinema Pro Video editing

I use Magix Movie Edit Pro.
I was very annoyed discovering this software is NOT using my GPU!
I have a great NViDIA GeForce RTX 2060. However, I cannot make any serious project with it, because the program still works on Intel Graphics!! What is that about??!!
I am asking precisely about Cinema Pro 21:9 footage. Is there something special about it in terms of codecs?
What happens:
When my program is using Intel Graphics (internal Intel 630) I can see the footage in the program. But it lags, it is not strong enough.
So when I switch to my Graphics card, NViDia GeForce RTX 2060 I see all videos blank. Black.
What should I do?
Check Windows 10 Graphicsettings. You can select which GPU it has to use for each Program...
Thank you. As I mentioned above:
- when I select internal Intel 630 graphics, I can see the footage. But after big editing, the program starts to be very sluggish.
- when I make my program use dedicated graphics card NViDIA GeForce RTX2060, the footage is black. I just hear the audio.
- On Vegas Po 14 I see the footage completely green.
I see many Xperia 5 videos on internet. What do people use to edit Cinema Pro footage? Adobe?
I don't own a Xperia 5 myself, so I can't give a definitive advice. I could imagine that Adobe Premiere Pro handles the files well with its CUDA empowered GPU rendering option.
Other than that maybe Blackmagic Design's Resolve can work with the files or you could try Avid Media Composter First (both are available as free version)?
I can offer to test it from my workstation if you upload an original file (via wetransfer for example). If you do so please try and make sure that file size does not exceed 500mbs (slow internet here --> rural Germany...).
Maybe I will send the file. The problem is the edit is quite advanced and there is no way to replicate it on another program.
But it would be good to know for the future of course.

Usually NLEs provide, the option to export timelines (or your whole project) as XML (or EDL) files. I assume Vegas has this option aswell? This way, if another editing software supports the Xperia 5's Cinema Pro App videos in a better way, it could be an option for you.

Professional video editors for Android?

I use computer to edit videos since I use a lot of scenes on computers and interaction is easier. But I don't have a graphic card so it's not very energy efficient when rendering videos. So I want to use my phone to render video to (presumably) save energy. However I have yet to found any capable video editors on Android, they are mostly attuned to short videos. I need an editor that could navigate between keyframes properly. It would be best if it can open project files from Windows.
Does Adobe Premiere Rush support this? Is the Android version compatible with project files edited on Adobe Premiere Rush desktop? Does anyone have a better recommendation?
