part first - Service mode (No my, copipast)
1. With device powered ON, press and hold both volume keys + power button.
2. Continue to hold all three until device starts to boot back up and start-up messages are displayed in upper-left.
3. After device boots, unlock, and access apps.
4. If done correctly, should see an app with a red Motorola emblem as an icon with the title of Field Utils.
***If you don't know what a service menu is or don't know what everything means, then pretend you never read this thread. Please and Thank You.***
Part two - connect to computer
1. Download Motorola driver 5.0 or other latest from developer.motorola.com/docstools/USB_Drivers (need registration)
2. Install it
3. Connect XOOM, if all fine, after this see in network devices "Motorola USB network driver"
4. Download HW Virtual Serial Port and connect to XOOM
5. Find your way - I work with CDMA workshop. Many have a lot of instructions. With QPST, I could not work, perhaps because the my hands a little curves...

is it possible to get this working on sprint's 4G?

No, sadly. That would be a hardware limitation and the Xoom will support VZW LTE 4G only, not Sprint's WiMax 4G.

[HOW TO] Update your PRL manually (EPIC 4G)

Check POST #2 for the newest PRL
Hi, some people requested me to do a guide of how to update MANUALLY your PRL in the Epic 4G..here it is.
USE THIS GUIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK, I’m not responsible for your phone loosing reception, ending world hunger, finding the cure for AIDS, or your supervisor giving you a raise after updating your PRL
What you will need.
Samsung Galaxy S Drivers
Epic 4G
QPST 2.7 Build 323
A newer PRL
Your MSL\SPC
Micro USB cable
And as always… a hot GF to cheer you up..
Ohh and a Windows PC
FAQ
Who is this guide for?
-People with flashed phones who want to update to their latest carrier PRL.
-I have seen some custom ROMs with the “update” menu removed, this takes out the ability to update OTA the PRL.
Why?
Updating the PRL by using the Epic’s software will not work most of the cases if you have a flashed phone. According to wireless carriers is recommended to update the PRL at least once a month to have the better reception possible.
Whats a “PRL”?
The Preferred Roaming List, this file tells your phone which towers to connect to or in what order. If you have a 1 year old PRL and a new cell phone tower was just installed outside your house 2 months ago, is most likely your phone is not getting the best reception possible.
Whats the meaning of life?

GUIDE
Getting your SPC\MSL
There is many possible ways to get your MSL for your Epic 4g.
1. If you still a Sprint customer you can call Sprint and ask for the MSL of your Epic, this is the most easy way to get it but not all CS representatives will give you the code.
2. Search and install “ConnectBot” from the Android Market, open the app, in the small dropdown box on the bottom left that says “SSH”, click and select “local” instead and on the “nickname” box put “Android” and hit Enter. On the new black screen with the “$” type “getprop ril.MSL”, you will get your 6 digit code, if that doesn’t work, reboot the device and try again. If it still doesn’t work type only “getprop” in this case you will get a very large command output scroll up and down and look where it says {ril.MSL}: {xxxxxx} the 6 digit number is your MSL
3. By using ADB, send “adb shell getprop ril.MSL” or “adb shell getprop” if the 2nd command is used you will need to look for the {ril.MSL} output
Getting the latest X PRL
You are on your own here, but as for 03-23-11, the latest PRLs are
Sprint\Boost: 60677
Verizon: 52189
Metropcs: 2013
Cricket: ????
Alltel : ????
Depending on what carrier you are on, PRLs might be different depending on your localization, please research or google “latest x PRL”. The extension of the file is *.prl. Download and save it on your desktop. I have only attached the latest Sprint PRL
* please let me know if you have are aware of a newer PRL..thanks!!
Updating the PRL
Once you know your MSL, you need to download and install the program QPST 2.7 Build 323, it might be possible to use another version of the program but this guide was made using version 2.7 b323. QPST is not a paid program but is intended for developers, providers and maintenance technicians, according x-drivers.com the software is “freeware”.
1. google, download and install QPST 2.7 Build 323.
2. google, download and install the Samsung Galaxy S Drivers
2.5 Make sure your Epic is not USB debugging mode, to disable, go to settings>applications>development>uncheck USB debugging
3. On your Epic, with the touchscreen dialer, dial ##8778#, this will open the “PhoneUtil” hidden menu
4. Change on both the UART and the USB menus, to MODEM and hit home.
5. Connect your phone to your computer with the usb cable, select “charging” if the select USB mode menu opens.
6. Your computer will automatically install the modem drivers for your Epic wait until you see the “device is ready for use”
7. Open QPST Configurations. Start>All Programs> QPST> QPST Configuration.
8. Click on the “Ports” tab and “Add a new port”
9. Select the “COMXX – USB\QC Diagnostic” and click ok, in my case the port number was 10, your port number will be different, if you see more than one, disconnect all your external devices such as external HDDs, phones, Bluetooth dongles, ect. If you don’t see a port. Disconnect your phone, restart your computer, connect your phone and try again, you might want to remember your Epic’s port number for future use.
10. Click “Start Clients” on the top of the program and open Service programming.
11. On the new Phone Selection windows you should see one active phone that starts with FFA6550-ZRF6500, select it and click ok.
12. Click “Read from the phone” and enter your 6-digit MSL code
13. Click on the “Roam” tab and click the “Browse…” button, here you will need to browse for the PRL you downloaded earlier, select it and open it.
14. Click “Write to Phone”
15. Your Epic will reboot and you can close all the programs now. On your phone go to settings>about phone>status> and make sure the PRL version matches the PRL number you downloaded, if yes, Congratulations you all done!!
16. Don’t forget to change back the USB settings ONLY back to PDA on the ##8778# menu
SPECIAL NOTES
For Sprint: As you might know, Sprint users can roam to Verizon’s network. if you are on a crappy Sprint coverage but a better Verizon one, you might want to try and upload a Verizon PRL to your phone, please be aware that Sprint might end your contract if roam a lot, such cases are not rare. Sprint might also charge you for roaming.. I have never heard of such cases but you might be the first one.
UPDATE: USERS HAVE SUGGESTED TO USE THE APP "ROAM CONTROL"
NOTE!!!!! SPRINT ALREADY TERMINATED THE CONTRACT OF A XDA USER FOR "ROAMING A LOT"
..supposedly, no ETF is charged..hint hint..wink wink..
For Metropcs\Cricket: Make sure you have downloaded the latest EVDO\1x PRL for metro, Metropcs uses AWS in New York and Las Vegas. You don’t want the AWS (non-EVDO) PRL in your Epic because you wont get any signal.
For ALL users: You might not notice any changes if you update your PRL and no new towers were installed or upgraded in your area.

you also need the following directory /data/data/com.android.hiddenmenu/

Thats because of your rom... an alternate method to using that menu is to do this...
-Make sure you have the standard Epic 4g device drivers installed.
-Plug in your phone to your computer. When prompted to choose between "Charging", "mass storage", and "tethered modem", choose "tethered modem"... then choose "3g modem".
... your computer will then see it on a COM port.

When setting up USB to MODEM mode, your phone will show up in the device manager under Ports (COM & LPT) as “Samsung Mobile Diagnostic Serial Port (WDM)” and NOT as an adb device.
Which windows version are you using? Did you tried disconnecting your phone and restarting both your phone and your computer?

I get to the step before Service Programming, than I see a phone number that is not mine under the phone, but the FFA code is identical to yours. Is that supposed to be the case?
Oh, and it didn't ask me for my MSL code when I clicked service programming. Unless I am supposed to put it in under the settings tab < codes < service programming.....

verizon towers will be preferred. If you go to a zone where there is no verizon coverage it will "roam" into Sprint towers..
Sprint and Verizon Wireless have a reciprocal data roaming agreement.

uncheck "USB debugging" in the settings>applications> development> munu in your epic.
COM4 is your Epic's modem port, try adding COM4 even though it says "unknown" and enable it if its disabled in the "Ports" tab.
if it still says no "no phone" restart your computer..
I have successfully manually updated my prl in windows 7 64 but and windows xp pro 32 bit

the phone number that you see there is really your "MIN" not your phone number..dont worry about it
the "FFA code" is identical in all Epics..I believe this is the type of qualcomm chip inside all Epic's
your MSL will be asked after you click "Read from Phone" in the service programming online window

Is a PRL file the same across different phone OS's? I would like to check out various PRL's on my phone, not just the newest. I had really good luck with 60659 on my TP2 (WinMo). Would that "work" on my Epic? Not asking if it would be better, just asking if its the same file format.
If so, is there any site that has different PRLs for different carriers?
Thanks
So I was playing the the options for getting my PRL and I noticed that I get a different number when doing "getprop ril.MSL" than I get when looking at the prl through settings. However, prl.MSL matches the prl in settings. They are both six digit numbers, and my prl is 60671, but ril is very different. What is ril?

Figured I'd post my experience with this.
Worked ok and I updated my PRL to 60659. Worked fine. Couple of side notes. You need to uncheck USB debugging in <Settings><Applications><Development> on the phone. Also, when adding the new port in step 9 you need to make sure you uncheck "Show Serial and USB/QC Diagnostic ports only". My computer showed COM3, COM6 and COM7. I added each. Only COM6 showed as having a phone so I deleted the others.
In the end, my reception didn't seem any better with my former favorite PRL, 60659 so I went ahead and used the regular phone process to update the PRL and it did so back to 60674. I am using Midnight ROM v2.3 EXT4.
Now I know how to do it if I decide to.

Can someone try these QPST Instructions for me? Please and Thank-you! :)

I do not have a Droid Charge, so I can't test this myself, but I want to know if using these instructions allows you to access QPST Diag ability. I have a few clients that want me to flash their Charge over to Cricket. This should only take a few minutes.
First make sure you have installed QPST.
Creating a virtual COM Port for the phone diagnostics software:
0vermind said:
1. Boot the phone up regularly without the cable attached. There is no special button to press while booting.
2. Connect the phone to the PC with a USB data cable.
3. Open phone dialer.
4. Enter in **usbdiag (**8723424) and press the call button
Now this should bring up a screen with 2 sections each has three options, select CDMA Modem in each section and your computer should detect new drivers, and it may take up to 5 minutes for them all to finish, because once one is detected it brings a few more in and yeah.. there will be one left that will NOT install, don't worry about it, go into device manager and make sure that in modems there is one listed for your phone.[/I]
5. If you have the Android SDK kit on the PC, the drivers should install automatically, or be pulled from the phone.
6. Now Download and Install HW Virtual Serial Port HERE.
7. Once you have it downloaded and installed, open it up.
8. Click the Login button. The password should automatically be filled in and click OK.
9. Go to the Settings tab and make sure that NVT Enabled is unchecked and go back to the Virtual Serial Port tab.
10. To be safe, pick a COM port above 8, but less than 20.
11. Make sure the IP Address field reads 192.168.16.2 and the Port field reads 11008
12. Click the Create COM button and after a few moments you should now have successfully created a COM port for your Droid Charge.
If you get Error in the LAN Status field then you have not successfully installed the drivers for the phone, or the phone is not set in Modem mode. Also make sure USB debugging is turned on and stay awake while plugged in is on. (These are in the Development section of settings under Applications.)
Click to collapse
When using QPST, don't let your phone go into sleep mode or it will lose connection.
1.) Open your Programs menu and go to QPST > QPST Configuration. If you do not see an active phone listed, select the "Ports" tab and click "Add New Port..." at the bottom right. Highlight the port you created for the Charge, then click "OK." If the port isn't listed, you might need to uncheck "Show Serial USB/QC Diagnostics Ports only."
2.) It should show the phone information. Under "Phone" column it shouldn't say No Phone. If it does, please make sure that all the steps were followed to the T, and that the phone is in CDMA Modem mode.
Please let me know if this works or not. All I want to know is what shows under the Phone section. If it shows "No Phone," please let me know if you re-checked all the steps and if the modem drivers are installed. Also let me know what the LAN Status is and RX and TX friends for VSP LAN and QUEUE in HW Virtual Serial Port.
If this will help some kind of development then ill be happy to do it, however it will take me an hour and a half to get home, plus the time to test this

Thanks!! And yes, it will. Because it will tell us a number of things. 1. If LTE devices still have a operatable CDMA Modem instead of relying on the SIM Card. 2. If it can be flashed to other CDMA Carriers, this will help people who do not want to leave Cricket, Sprint, etc.
Let me know if you get stuck on anything. I would like more than one person to try this, so if anyone is reading, please take a few minutes and post back your results.
I can't get it to work, but I am MOST LIKELY doing something wrong. Ill try it again tommorow and let you know.

gonna try turning off LTE, maybe thats why no LAN connection
edit: tried again and HW VSP was in like a connnecting/error loop, then errored... VSP Rx=7502 and Tx=0, LAN Rx=0 and Tx=0, Queue Rx=0 and Tx=7502 and Baud keeps switching between 115200 and 38400
edit2: tried numerous times with same result of LAN status error... all drivers and programs installed properly, phone is in CDMA MODEM mode in both sections, tried doing this both with LTE on and 3G only, Modem and Port both show up in device manager however no LAN connection and "No Phone" in QPST

This method is for phones that do not have diag mode such as the Droid X, Droid X2, etc. It also works without needing the Virtual COM Port on phones that have build in Diag mode like HTC phones, and anything with CM7 on it.
The fact that it keeps going back to lan error, but allows some packets to go through, tells me that the SIM card is now in charge of all network operations and it holds information such as towers, etc. Which sucks. I had a Droid Charge in my possession for 8 hours and I tried everything I could think of to get the damn thing to register on QPST, looks like they changed how the network communicates with LTE devices.
Sorry guys! This is really frustrating, but it makes sense for Verizon to do it this way, slowly transitioning away from pure CDMA is a good move.

QPST still no phone
VIA/Spirent PST
The Samsung i406/i510 and some others use the VIA schipset which is non-Qualcomm compliant that's why you can't communicate with it through QPST/QXDM etc... need the original VIA/Spirent PST to turn the RUIM NV-only option on to force the phone into using the NAM parameters from the NV and not from the LTE sim card. In addition to the NV you also have to switch the modem to cdma by dialing **583
If anyone has some info about VIA/Spirent PST please share it.

hope you guys gets some results on this~~~

HTC Thunderbolt on PPC with 3g without using CDMAWS paid version

Ok everybody, after a few days of tinkering around with the help of many different forums and threads (sorry, i cant possibly start thanking individuals cuz i went through so many threads) i finally got my htc thunderbolt on PPC with 3g working. this is how
1.) remove the 4g sim card (if you have it) from the thunderbolt
2.) aquire all of the drivers you need for the thunderbolt and DM mode (hint, use htc sync)
3.) on the phones dialer dial ##3424# and press send
4.) hit the button that says reboot to modem+diag mode
5.) when your phone is plugged into the computer, has all the drivers installed, and is picked up in the device manager as 2 com ports
A.) The voice, text, and 1x com port is the htc diagnostic
B.) the 3g/4g com port is htc diagnostic 9k
6.) aquire a copy of cdmaws (2.7 is fine, there is a cracked version floating around, just use google no warez links
7.) open up cdmaws and connect to the non 9k port and connect
8.) go to the security tab and input your spc (000000) and click send, should say unlocked
9.) go to the other tab and under R-UIM Config make sure you select NV only then click write
9.) write all your nam settings, mdn, min, sid, nid, imsi and etc etc (other posts here at xda have all the details) repeat for name 2
10.) go to the other tab and under prl make sure it says universal and nam1
11.) click write and locate your pageplus evdo prl file (i used 51720) repeat for nam2
12.) go to the main tab and click disconnect but DO NOT CLOSE CDMAWS!!!!!!!
13.) connect the 9k port and repeat steps 8-12 but dont read, just write (all of your settings should still be on the screen)
14.) close cdmaws after all the settings are written to the phone
15.) find a copy of qpst 2.7 build 366 (again, google is your friend) and install it
16.) open up qpst configuration and click add new port
17.) find your non 9k com port click it once then click ok
18.) at the top go to start clients->service programming
19.) click ok then click read, click ok on the pop up that comes up
20.) go straight to the m.ip tab and create a new profile (or edit the one that shows up if it shows up) make it look like the screenshots i have below
21.) write the profile
22.) go to the PPP config tab and put *your 10 digit page plus phone number*@vzw3g.com for your nai and *your 10 digit phone number*@dun.vzw3g.com for teth. nai. password is vzw for um and an tab.
23.) close service programming and select the com port in configuration and remove it, close qpst configuration
24.) get a copy of dfs tools (demo is perfectly fine)
25.) see screenshots included at bottom of post
26.) make sure you start with the non 9k port, write what you need. and change ports to the 9k port without closing dfs tools, write everything to the 9k port (to be sure i pressed write for everything about 30 times but i may have been a bit excessive
27.) now activate the thunderbolt on your pageplus account by taking the last digit off of the imei number and they'll take it.
28.) insert ANY sim card into the sim card slot (NOT A VERIZON 4G ONE) i used a old nextel one to be honest
29.) turn on phone and dial *#*#4636#*#* and click phone information. change to cdma auto (prl) and close out.
30.) make a phone call and BAM 3g picks up and authenticates
Sorry if this guide isnt easy to follow, im not too good with wording things, lol. but it gives enough info for others to help including me.
also make sure under wireless and networks-> mobile networks-> that data roaming is allow for all trips, network mode is cdma only, and system select is automatic b
feel free to post to this thread with any shortcuts, questions, or comments

Thanks for the hard work you have done deathrow1993 ,I have been around in circles with this, It looks like you have come up with the answer. I have 2 questions for you.. 1: I have CDMAWS 3.9 a little different from the one you have..You mention go to the other tab and under R-UIM Config make sure you select NV only. In CDMAWS 3.9 the R-UIM config is on the main tap and there is also the button that gives the option of CDMA or CDMA2 or EDVO etc. and another button that gives the option of NAM1 and NAM2 .. Do I write to NAM1 and NAM2 under CDMA and CDMA2 and EDVO?? The last question 2: on the program page of DFS CDMA you have 765 2385692 in several fields is this the phone # thanks for all your work with this. I have had the 1X working for a bit now but getting tired of the slow speeds. Again thanks to you everybody else that has contributed to this... Merry XMAS

Thats my cell phone number. Forgot to edit the pictures i guess. If you have cdmaws 3.9 and its the paid version in order to get 3g go to the evdo tab and put yourphone#@vzw3g.com for all fields and vzw as the password. Then have pageplus do a esn reset and a data reset and 3g should work. If its not the paid version then the evdo tab wont write. It sounds like you already have talk and text working? also make sure if you write something (nv only, nam settings, m.ip, and ppp settings, anything) make sure you write to both nam1 and nam2.
Thanks a bunch for your tutorial. I am going to try to flash my spare tbolt to PPC and have been reading everything that I could find.

no problem. just make sure youre on the stock rom so you can get diagnostic mode working. after everything is flashed i know its safe to flash a custom rom and even a new radio. i was on a bamf rom after 3g started working i then upgraded my radio from .9 to .19 and everything stuck. if you have any questions just keep me posted

Deathrow you can still get into diag mode with ICS roms and probably other non sense ones as well. Google "GScript Lite" and you can put your phone in diag mode without the reboot. I am with PPC too and love sense roms for ease of programming your phone without ever hooking it up to a computer but have run into losing data when flashing roms.

You are welcome, it's actually pretty easy to use and you don't have to reboot your phone.
Hi deathrow1993,
Thank you very much for your brief and simple tutorial...finally my Thunderbolt get 3G here in Jakarta.

Thanks again for your tips. I currently have voice and SMS working...Still trying to get data tho...
deathrow1993 if you ever make it near PDX I'm buying you a beer!
Process worked (took me awhile to find all the tools).
I haven't got a non-vzw-LTE SIM card yet so I have the Verizon one in there (wife's phone...keeps the phone from complaining) and it at least functions with text/voice for her.
I suspect it will start snagging 3G once I get the random SIM card in there.
Best part was that this avoided having to use the paid version of CDMA Workshop (their DEMO version you can download lets you mod only the CDMA pages, not the EVDO). I really didn't want to part with $99 just to program a used phone that isn't even mine
Thanks again! Learned a lot!
HTC Thunderbolt on Page Plus/w Voice/Text/MMS/Web
..Finally, after a week of trying to get data to work, IT WORKS!! HTC Thunderbolt on Page Plus 55$plan, Voice/Text/MMS/Web at 1xCDMA. I started with the tips from this thread and others alike, used cdmaws2.7, DFS4103, QPST366, and WirelessWorkshop dotcom. To be honest, it was the WirelessWorkshop remote software and the Technical help from them(Dwane was his name) that got this working. I could never get the com ports/diag driver's installed correctly. I thought they were but they weren't and WirelessWorkshop(Dwane the tech dude) connected to my pc through teamviewer and fixed my problem with the ports and drivers! Way more than I expected him to do since I only paid to use the software remotely. Before he fixed my pc I could only write to the htc diagnostic modem, not the 9K..So CHeers to him and the rest of y'all that have helped out...
Now I need to get 3G working. I did run across this from another site's thread but I don't know if it works to fix 3G cause there are no other references to it:

I am not sure if changing the "vzw" pass to one of these would work or not.. Has anyone else seen this and does it work to connect 3G?
Hmm...
I popped in a non-4G-LTE SIM card yet still no 1x or 3G data (no MMS or anything).
Any words of insight here?
After having everything working(voice,sms,mms,data1x) for almost a week, I tried to get 3G to work and now I have no data or mms at all...I have tried to re-flash and re-flash, gone over all the settings a thousand times, but nothing...
Brandon314159, wish I could offer some advice but I find myself also asking for help now... The last three times I called PPC and had them reset my data, I still haven't gotten it back yet..

I'm thinking the APN may be wrong on my Thunderbolt (still verizon?) because it wasn't a setting I had to change in this process?
I will have some more time here soon to look at it and see if I can figure it out..
I don't think the sim card really matters much but I'm using the verizon sim because it holds the PRL. 3G data is working for me, you need to be able to write your specific keys to the phone using DFS. This took me a while to figure out but eventually I got my hands on a droid incredible and was able to use it for my source to setup the thunderbolt. I am not sure if there is any other way to work around this or not but it worked for me.
Edit: It may be that you need to do all the programming as stated by the OP before you do the activation or have an ESN reset thru PPC.

EDIT: I was wrong about the sim card but if you have a new one that was NEVER programmed before, then it will work with the 4G LTE sim card.
I had 2 used & 1 new sim card but I could only get the NEW one to work correctly with 3G. Sorry if I lead anyone in the wrong direction.
I am only finding one port (9k) since I upgraded to ICS. Does anyone have a similar issue or could this be another problem?

I have found This rom here to be the most useful in setting things up to where you can reboot to diag mode and then set everything else up as stated in the OP. Once you are finished, flash the rom of your choice but don't go thru with the vzw activation process so all of your settings will stick. They may still stick, I don't know for certain as I have never allowed it to finish.

[Q] HTC Media Link HD "Internal Error / Update Failed"

Hello,
I have bought a HTC Medialink HD to show my Familie my Holiday Pictures.
The Firmware is: 5.19.100....
I read a lot if articles before evertime I read that it will be possible to present your stuf via dlna from all your devices.
Today I connected everthing and went on 192.168.3.1 and try to setup my WIFI but no way to do so, i get everytime an internal error,
I have used 2 different AP but no way.
Im also not able to use the internal AP from the MediaLink if i try to show some videos with the Wi-Fi Media App there is no device listed.
I'm not sure but it feels that my device is Broken....
I have no HTC device to test the 3 finger wipe but I'm more or less sure that this will also not work.
Is there a way to upgrade the firmware via USB?
Or did I make something wrong?

Same situation here also. I am able to connect my HTC phone using 3-finger guesture; however, whenever I try to connect my Nexus7, I get stuck at the point where I need to choose the Wi-Fi on 192.168.3.1. My Wi-Fi connection is not on the list. Even if I try to enter manually and click on "Save", it always says "Update Failed/Internal Error".
Is there any setting that must be done to the router?

Hom, seems like an Firmware Error. Any Idea were/how to get the old firmware or hack this crap...
Honestly, I guess the best would be to quickly sell this thing and get a Chromecast as soon as it is in stock again.
Will do mostly the same and is cross-compatible with your future android phone and your Chrome browser.
Plus, it's very cheap ^^

Not yet, but I guess the chances that google will sell it in Germany or at least in AT/CH are not bad.
There is even a landing page on google play DE for it:

Hope so
I picked one up from AT&T store at a very affordable price but encountered the same "internal error" issue when I tried to connect this little box with my home Wi-Fi network. After a few days of researching, a forum in Taiwan provided some workaround and here is the steps to connect your HTC Media Link HD (HMLH) to your Wi-Fi network and enjoy DLNA support as well.
1. Reset (HMLH) by pressing the reset button for more than 5 seconds
2. You must grab a phone with Sense 4.0+ (will not work with Sense 5+ or above)
3. Connect your phone with Sense 4.0+ to your local network first
4. Perform the 3 finger swipe up action from your sense page
5. Complete the set up process
6. Wait for 5 minutes then connect to the Wi-Fi network that you named during the set up process from another laptop with network password 1234567890HTC
7. Open browser and type 192.168.3.1
8. HMLH automatically picks up your home network without entering the security key
9. Exit the mirroring mode from your Sense 4+ phone by swiping 3 fingers down
10. The TV screen should show that HMLH is connected to your Wi-Fi network
ok, so here is another easy solution for the internal error with the HTC Media Link HD (DG H300)
1. Firmware version on device after update: 5.52.103.1
2. Connect device to TV
3. Press reset button on device for 5 seconds to reset
4. After reset device will show Default Name on TV screen
5. Turn on WPS config on your router, either through Router admin UI or by manually pressing WPS button (WPS = Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
6. Press once the reset button on device (you need to do this within 2minutes of pressing the WPS button on router)
7. Device will automatically go to configure screen, progress bar will indicate configuration
8. The medialink HD device will now be connected to your WiFi network through your router

How to change APN and update firmware on Samsung SCH-LC11 hotspot

I am debating whether or not to post this here, on Howard Forums or on CDMA Gurus, but I'll post it here as this forum seems the most popular and has a great SEO so hopefully someone googling how to do this will see this thread and find it helpful.
This summer I picked up a used Verizon Samsung SCH-LC11 hotspot. It is surprisingly small and lightweight but heavy and feels high quality.
I was surprised to see the built in web interface didn't have a software update button, nor any options to change APN settings and so on. I searched Google and couldn't find ANYTHING initially on how to do this, but found that there was a software update which mine didn't have that gave it the ability to choose LTE only, 3G CDMA only, and so on, which I thought would be nice to have. After a lot of digging, I finally found out how to do this.
First you'll need to install the latest Samsung USB drivers from here https://developer.samsung.com/mobile/android-usb-driver.html
Once that is done, you'll need to download the Samsung firmware update utility for this hotspot which can be found here
Verizon: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/?model=N0020110&modelCode=SCH-LC11ZKAVZW
US Cellular: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/?model=N0020124&modelCode=SCH-LC11ZKAUSC
Download the one listed as "PATCH,OTHERS" and run it, and follow the instructions, once that's done you should now be on the latest firmware!
This next one is something that initially was reported as impossible, changing the APN settings. There is nowhere in the web menu to do this and when you plug this device into your computer nothing happens.
After months of searching though, I finally found a thread on CDMA Gurus related to flashing and doing more involved things with this hotspot, and this showed how to enable debugging mode!
To do so you'll need to power your hotspot on and connect to it's wifi network, and then head to the admin page at http://192.168.1.1/ and login with the wifi password found on the sticker underneath the battery cover. If your sticker is missing the password is the last 8 digits of your IMEI, ignoring the last digit of the IMEI. For example if your IMEI is 123456789123456 your password is 78912345.
Once you're logged into the admin page go to http://192.168.1.1/selectusbmode.html and enable USB debug mode and click Save. Then go into "Configuration" and "Diagnostics" and click restart and connect the hotspot to your computer via USB. You should hear the device connect sound.
Now you'll need to use a program called AT Command Tester available at https://m2msupport.net/m2msupport/download-at-command-tester/ as we will set the new APN of your choice using AT commands, and this program let's you do that all through a simple, easy to use GUI.
You will need the latest version of Java installed on your computer as AT Command Tester requires Java to run, you can obtain the latest Java here https://www.java.com/download/ie_manual.jsp
Once you have the latest version of Java installed and have downloaded and installed AT Command Tester, open up your start menu and launch AT Command Tester, if this doesn't work navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\AT Command Tester and run "atc.bat"
You should see AT Command Tester open, and now you'll need to establish a connection to the Samsung hotspot. Click on "Find Ports" and wait, now you should see 3 COM ports available from the dropdown selection list, in my case it was COM16, COM17 and COM18 and the one I needed to use was COM16, however yours may vary and you may need to try each one until you establish a connection, I'd recommend trying the lowest numbered one in the list. Once you have selected the proper COM port click "Connect" and in the log in the right you should see it detect the hotspot and list Qualcomm as the device type.
Now you can follow the instructions here for setting up the APN https://m2msupport.net/m2msupport/how-to-setup-access-point-network-apn-in-cellular-modules/ and once you have set the proper APN you can restart your hotspot and you should have everything working!
If you for some reason need to change other settings, you can use DFS Qualcomm Tool to do so. This device will also be detectable via QPST and CDMA Workshop too.
