All the newer Nexus S that will be launched won't have the Super Amoled Display like most of ours, will the new displays be better than ours? Or will the original Nexus S reign supreme?

That is a matter of personal preference. The media will say that Super AMOLED is 10 times as good, and most other people will say that too, but Super Clear LCD has it's advantages.
I suggest you read through the Nexus S i9023 Super Clear LCD thread, and see what you think is better!

I'm receiving my nexus s on Tuesday. I'm wondering is it a good trade to atrix? My cousin he wants to trade it. My nexus will be brand new. So should i do it or no?
Atrix don't have much development because its bootloader is locked. So I actualy returned my Atrix for inspire 4 g . I would keep nexus s. Go and check out development for both phones.

no dont do it, i went from atrix to nexus s, the nexus is quicker, motoblur lags the crap out of the atrix
Wow thanks guys so much lol. Ya he told me atrix is better and faster and said he doesn't like motorola so he wants straight trade with my nexus s and so i came here to ask you guys experts.
I hope nexus s is good purchase is made. Can't wait till Tuesday
Keep the nexus s!!

- you cant have roms on it because of its locked bootloader. and the stock roms lags thanks to the moto blur " what a horrible thing "
- still on 2.2 and god knows when it will get updated to 2.3 , even if it does, it wont get the honeycomb while nexus S owners will get it day 1.
- multi touch problem. it doesnt recognize more than 2 fingers. and when it does. you cant keep pressing on the screen for more than 14 seconds. after that, the screen will go funny on you. meaning if you are playing a racing game, you cant keep pressing on the gas and the directional area in the same time for more than 14 seconds. if you do, you will see your car in the game stopped moving and you will be like wtf is going on " this is not a bug with my unit. its with all the atrix "
- Screen is ugly. they say its qHD. but holy crap its ugly. very dull. the colors are no match to the super amoled. while this is a personal taste and its different between one guy to another. i think you will agree with me once you put the phone head to head with your new nexus S.
+ it has dual core processor from Nvidia. meaning if all the negative problems i said above got fixed, then you are in a gaming and emualtors heaven. because this thing is more powerful than the nexus S in terms of GPU and CPU.
but i hardly think ANY of the problems will be fixed. the phone was released in Feb 2011. its been more than 2 months and nothing.
dont let the 2 roms in the atrix development forums fool you. they are not really "roms " . no one touched the karnel. they are mearly an advanced " theme "
all in all. i dont think you shouldnt buy the nexus S even unless you want a pure google experience. because the LG 2Gx is here. the Samsung Galaxy S2 is here and the last is a god gift for the phones " based on a personal hands on "
Wow that was amazing. What you said but the thing is I'm on rogers and live in canada so only 2 choice i have now is either nexus s or xperia arc. Canada sucks with phone updates.

The Resolution is 960x540, compared to Nexus S 800x480. Atrix has Pentile TFT LCD, which is the problem that people have with it. It can produce some odd/washed out colors, but generally is great and needs to be the new standard resolution as far as I'm concerned. Not necessarily with Pentile. The Nexus S has Samsungs nice Super Amoled. You do lose a bit of resolution, but colors are definitely more accurately reproduced.

agreed with the resolution. but then again. my hands on with the super amoled plus on the galaxy S2 is stunning. and its the same resolution as super amoled on Nexus S
honestly. i have never been impressed with a phone as much as i did with the galaxy S2. its a truly a next gen phone by all standards. with the latest HTC and Sony Ericsson offering, its clear that Samsung will be the king of android for this year also.
Wait for the HTC Sensation, it's a worthy competition to the GS2. Seriously, I think the Sense UI wins over touchwiz hands down, the screen is qHD as well versus 800x480 only on the GS2.

1- the Atrix is QhD. it means nothing. i was still able to see the pixels. and the colors are not great compared to the super amoled plus. and i have the SGS2 in my hand. and i used to own the atrix. so i know what i am talking about.
2- dont compare the old touchwiz to the new one as the new one is generations ahead of whats in the first one. PLUS the fact i can play all my movies in the SGS2 without having to convert any video is a + no matter how you look at it.
3- HTC sense. is just a UI. a user interface. nothing more. there are million of others available in the market. and to make it more " fun " htc sense 3.0 is already being ported to many devices including the old samsung galaxy S1. which means 1 month from now, it will be available with fully working performance on galaxy S. never make a user interface a reason to buy a phone.
4- the SGS2 is a higher specd phone. from video card to 2M front facing camera to no scrolling lagg at all while browsing. honestly this thing is a beast
and to make things worst. the engadget hands on with the new HTC is " laggy"
and thats a demo unit that supposed to show off.
My first android phone was Nexus One and after a year in December i bought Nexus S. Now i feel that i need a new phone or a tablet, right now i m little confused between samsung Galaxy s2 or Htc Sensation.
There are many forums on the net but the reason I m posting it here is that all the forums I've read and people are saying galaxy s2 is the right choice but I feel that sensation is better so I want u guys to pull from sgs2 to sensation's side.
Or
Should i go for Galaxy tablet or Asus EEEpad?

You're going to have to make that decision on your own after handling both. Both are powerful phones, and can do the same things, but the rest is up to your tastes. The SGS2 might be the most powerful phone in the world currently but that doesn't mean that the sensation isn't also really good. I have not personally seen the SGS2 in person so I cannot speak of it's build quality, but if it's anything like the original SGS then it leaves quite a bit to be desired. I never truly liked the plasticy feel of the phone, and always thought it felt cheap. SAMOLED + is also a feature that you have to decide on whether you like. I personally love AMOLED screens, but it's not an option for me right now. The screen on the Sensation is quite sharp and is no slouch either. Then there's the choice between Sense and TouchWiz. Both have their pro's and con's but it's also matter of your tastes. Sorry if i've been no help, but I still think only you can make that choice after handling them both.
Since you have a nexus s, and if you are happy with it, i'd go for a tablet. Which one? Don't know, never really looked into them enough to give any valuable advice.

I've seen a couple of videos and tests also (ie:quadrant advanced, neocore, linpack) in which sgs2 and "LG G2X" wins cmon,I've seen the stock phone is pretty laggy specially the browser and sense 3.0 helicopter view.
I m sorry I m saying whatever I saw no hard feelings please thanks

Agreed. If you have a Nexus S I would just go with the Galaxy tab 10.1
It's currently the most powerful and physically appealing android tablet on the market right now. The SGS2 and Sensation are amazing phones but i'd go with the tablet.

You asked, and we answered. Odds are that you already knew what the benchmark scores were, and already saw those youtube videos and if that's the case then stop trolling. What i'm saying is this. If the SGS2 is a Lamborghini, then the Sensation is a Bentley. Might not be as fast, but it sure looks damn nice.
What about the custom roms are increasing the performance I mean the browser lag and the sense 3.0 lag

Are you really asking that question on a sensation forum?
no , i am just kidding buddy
actually i would love to ask some one honest , that's why i am asking here
Well i'm not really in much of a positon to comment, as I have a Sensation!
If I were you i'd read all the reviews out there and have a play with both phones in the store, then make your mind up!
S2 anytime sensation is slow compared (had both) amd battery on sensation gets so hot its frightening . The s2 scores around 3500 on quadrant and the sensation around 2400 but its same processor that should tell you something. Also the screen on the s2 is nicer
There is one downfall with the s2 and thats the pink spot on the camera but software has sorted most problems out
If you get s2 you wont be disappointed I know I wasn't

I have a sensation and a HD2.
Last weekend had the chance to play a couple of minutes with the GS2.
And one thing really got my attention.
The GS2 feels really really big!! I mean brick like big!
And I'm saying that when also owning a HD2 so I'm used to big phones
In all the reviews I've read, the consensus is the the GSII is marginally quicker, but is lacking in build quality. There is also the debate of SAMOLED+ vs qHD SLCD.
I have never been a fan of Samsung. HTC has yet to do me wrong.
Best advice I can give you is to find one of each and out them through their paces. Pick the one that you like more. Easy, right?

It isn't the same chip, clock speed and the overall ARM architecture are the only similarities. Also, the Sensation is running a much higher pixel count, so will under-perform in comparison due to the extra graphical requirements.
These points above have been covered on this forum countless times before.
Both have there strengths and weaknesses. I have a Sensation but will probably buy a GSII once they release stateside. I love the look of Super AMOLED displays and believe it or not, I like Touch Wiz for the simple fact that its light weight and when I run ADW on top of it, you don't eveb know its running besides the fact, you get to keep some cool features from it such as swiping left and right on a contact to start a text message or call them. I also like Samsung as a whole. I have 4 Samsung LED TV's in my house and every one of them looks superb. My 4 Samsung LCD's prior to them all looked perfect as well and I never had a problem with them in the 5 years I owned them. I also like the fact that Samsung is innovating in multiple markets. They make the LED panels for Sony and then Sony slaps there name and a new menu onto the TV and over charges the **** out of it. When it comes to display technology, nobody can hold a candle to Samsung as they are leading that industry aswell. When it comes to mobile devices, Samsung has been leading in processing power since the debut of the Hummingbird. I like the fact how they design the phone from the ground up but most every other company just purchases genaric parts or parts from Samsung to complete there phones.
In the end, there both good phones but I don't like how HTC can't optimize their drivers for the life of them. They've been like that since Winmo. They also could have done a better job with Sense 3.0 but its obvious they didn't optimize that either.

I'm not a big fan of samoled... colors are vibrant but look artificial.
not feeling the lower resolution as well.
any screen over 4" need to be qhd at the least.
I do wish in the near future these manufacturers get it through their heads and give us the ability to calibrate the screen.
anyway, both good phones.
can't really go wrong with either. just got to pick the one that fits your taste more.
I prefer the built quality, style/look of the Senny and I like Sense UI...
S2 seems to be a solid phone, minus the cheap feeling plastic case.

- faster?
- better housing?
- less weight?
- display resolution?
- battery lasts?
- ...
Get neither. Just wait a month or so and get the Samsung Hercules.
I have read many threads abouth qhd versus superamoled etc...
Im just wondering because many people mention that a big plus of the qHD is you could see more of lets say the browser.
This obviously makes sense because the bigger resolution. I notice this for example in the xda app when it first opens you see more of the rows available to click on.
I used to have an hd2 and changed lcd density and also saw more rows.
So my question is if I changed the lcd density on the SGS2 to make it lets say have the exact same rows in the xda app. (Lets pretend the sgs2 is 4.3 not 4.5)
I do realize the quality should technically favor the qHD but now that they show the same amount of broswer or xda app for example, is the difference that obvious to our eyes at normal viewing distance?????
This could already be proven with the regular international sgs2 so Im curious if anyone's tried it maybe?
Thanks

I'm no videophile but you're half correct. YES indeed you could fit more on the sgs2 screen by using lcd density, but how that's going to look all jammed in there like that is another story.
What i mean is, with the two different screen types, there are pixel count differences. an example is, a user with an htc evo, uses "200" on lcd density to get it to look around my resolution (htc sensation). but will it LOOK as crisp, smooth, and natural at that resolution? NO WAY.
Yes that what I meant. I know u COULD show as much by changing density but if its even slightly noticeable ill pass. I was thinking maybe our eyes wouldn't notice it lol
Like a we wouldn't notice 1080p versus 720p on a 4 inch scteen type of deal. I wasn't sure though cause obviously were not talking that kinda resolution.
Thanks for the reply. I think ill just stick with the sensation I have. I love it. Im just always wanting to try the new thing even though I'd prolly be back with what I started. The sensation.
The resolution was the big thing for me..

I've noticed a few things pop up in various threads about the current\future specs of the One S, after looking on the HTC site another 'change' has caught my eye, not sure if it's correct though.
The one we all seem to know is that it looks like HTC is also going to release the One S with an overclocked (1.7) S3 CPU.
What I've also noticed is that the screen is now also listed as a 720P HD Amoled screen, no mention of Super Amoled (what I have)
Possibly looks like the S3 version will be shipping with the 720P Amoled Screen, be interesting to find out for sure!
Link please!
Higher res screen and older overclocked chip doesnt sound like a good combination but I guess they're trying to make up for the shortage of s4 chips

With this display and processor combo, I can imagine battery life being absolutely terrible. Kind of a bad deal.
Whoever is in charge of HTC's worldwide site needs to be fired. That info (about the 720p screen) is almost certainly incorrect - note that the text right next to it says 960x540 resolution. Also, if they were changing it we would have heard about it by now (like we did with the S3 version, under the "Ville C2" codename - we even got custom Sensation ROMs based on it).
That said, I think a 720p One S would be awesome - think of the pixel density! As long as I could get it with the S4 though...
