I have recently got a free Archos 7 Home Tablet, and it works fine! (Except for the slow CPU and ****ty touchscreen, but that's ok ).
There's just 1 thing that's really making me angry.
I cannot install any (outside market) downloaded APK's! I have appslib, and the regular market installed, all applications I've downloaded in them (so far) have been able to be installed. But whenever I download a .apk file from the internet, it ALWAYS says "<application name> could not be installed on this phone.".
I have tried manually signing applications with Java SDK's keytool.exe and jarsigner.exe. Also tried a bunch of solutions online. No luck!
The device is running Android 1.6 (I think it's a cusom rom, it says "By knightdominion" in the spash loading screen.).
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am an experienced computer user, so if you only have advanced things to try: I'll likely be able to do them.

The image can be flashed to your usb drive or sd/microsd card with dd on your fullsize computer. Please be aware that I have not tested running from a fullsize SD card.

Operation
1.Run the control script to start the chroot. You can run console commands here. The screen command is useful here also.
2.Run ./vnc to start the vnc server which itself starts xorg and the window manager. The script is not totally failure proof.
3.Login with your vnc client. I use Android vnc viewer. Password is testing.

BUG:
chroot will not cleanly unmount

keep chroot running in the background - it should only take up memory not cpu

Does Flash work?
I am not holding out much hope for flash on ARMv6. It seems like a long complicating debugging process for what is in the end slow and buggy results.
The browser is slow?
Right now, it seems that javascript performance on the stock browser is much worse than I expected. For now, try turning off javascript and images if you use the stock browser.

I tried ADB with a male to male USB that I had laying around with no success with a GNU/Linux PC and a different Windows PC. All 3 USB ports were tested. But you can connect with adb connect ipofdevice over your LAN if you see what address your router is giving the device. Or of course you could set a static IP.
Minimize application?
You can return to the home screen at any time by pushing fn+home.
Sources for the binaries you have added?
Try the sources link on the first post. The zirco apk is unchanged and their website is here: http://code.google.com/p/zirco-browser/ . The Gapps are straight from my VM LG Optimus V.

Is it possible to boot or load a stripped version of windows xp from a thumb drive? and did you try all the usb ports with that cable?

The root situation on the ROM and my current devices in general is a little complicated. For this device in general, it comes ADB rooted out of the box. I have added another su to the rom that will allow console root. Unfortunately, because it is an older version of su, it does not seem to work with Superuser.apk. I am waiting on a response in the Q/A forum on errors I am getting compiling the current version of su. I have been able to compile Superuser.apk successfully but it is not much use without the current version of su. I am of course preferring to include source and source-compiled binaries wherever possible in the ROM.

Regular Windows XP does not run natively on ARM CPUs. From Craig's website it appears that they have an identical model running Windows CE. You should look into any running a lightweight GNU/Linux chroot with QEMU or VMWare and then booting something like Windows 98. I would be amazed to see it, especially with the limited RAM we have available.
I am releasing a new ROM with integrated Google Apps and a open source browser named Zirco which seems to run very well. Compare the stock browser with stock settings to Zirco on forum.xda-developers.com to know what I mean. Be sure to read the README.
This ROM may end up becoming a different series entirely. One with the market and one without.

I tried copying the live wallpaper apk and what I thought to be their dependencies from my Optimus V. Unfortunately, the switcher crashed and the logcat just said the wallpaper switcher would not start.
lot of apps run real slow and lag i tried some games like that bird game where you flick it to the target, i get like 1 frame every 2-3 seconds for the animation, soo slow, they claim 800 MHZ processor but damn this thing is soooo slow. even the fake chinese android phones the star A5000 runs and performs better than this.
2d games lag real bad so I dont see any 3d gaming at all on this machine. unless some elite hacker and coder can make a fully optimized rom for this thing.
Thanks for reporting your results. I have had mixed successes with games. The drag racing game works decent and another rice-can type racing game worked ok too. But many games instantly crash also. The live wallpaper would probably run slow anyway.

the new browser force closes on me, and does this thing have flash support, I have a gut feeling this is an x86 formfactor which is why it runs so slow.

Hey Jason. I just installed it. Had to download a new adobe flash player to watch a youtube video.
When it comes to this operating system I am a total newbie. So, in order to do a "do it yourself" install (since I still can't install some pre installed apps like "Dialer" and other things) are there simple instructions to do a "do it yourself" or do you have to be a techy to do it? I know Windows OS well but Android is so foreign to me. Just had this thing for a few days and I am ready to throw the netbook against the wall and then stomp on it. Your root was my last hope.
Well first off, were you able to actually play flash in the browser? That would be a nice new development. Alternatively, you could try the included Youtube player.
I would be glad to help in any way I can. For a do it yourself ROM, you would just take the factory firmware RAR file and edit it yourself. You would start by unRARing the file with something like WinRAR on Windows. But I would recommend trying GNU/Linux instead if you are at all interested in development. You can use the README file and this thread as a reference along the way.
Why are you interested in installing the dialer anyway? I noticed some phone components are installed but there seems to be no way to access them.

I didn't know about the Youtube player. Thanks for the tip. On the original install I was able to play flash in "Browser" (at Youtube at least) but not with "Browser" in this install. Although, maybe "Browser" opened "My Browser" in the original install and that's the one that had flash support. (I'm still learning). So since I didn't get around to installing your included browser maybe that's why it wouldn't play. Anyhow, I couldn't install the flash update via the link Youtube provided. The little download arrow on the top left hand of the screen just never went away. I had the unit on for about 3 hours and the arrow remained with no confirmation that the download was complete. I searched the system and the SD card for the download but couldn't find it. This is not the first time I had this problem with downloads so maybe it's something with my particular device. This is actually my third. Last two were defects.
About the Dialer... it was a typo. I meant to say I want to UNINSTALL it from the unit, but Android won't let me. It just seems useless to have this app since I have a netbook and not a phone. Plus, I think it may be eating up my battery usage as it could be the app responsible for the cell standby thing I have in Battery Usage which is using up 80% of my battery. Like I said, I am a newbie to this OS so, I'm looking at things like Dialer, Telophony etc. I may be wrong about this though. It may be some other application seeking Cell Radio signal as reported in Battery Usage.
I just did a side by side comparison of the unzipped install I got from Craigs website (by the way, thanks for that link) and your version to see if I could learn and do my own hack. I did notice a few differences.
Ok first I saw the Optional folder with some apps and Browser fix as you mentioned in the Read me
Then there was the app folder where you removed some apps from the original install and added others. Is it as simple as that? To just delete the apps you don't want from this folder of the original install? Unfortunately I don't see Dialer in that folder. I'd like to get rid of that too. I guess you can't get rid of every app.
Another difference was that I saw "su" in "bin". and I noticed SuperUser.apk in your app folder. Does that app make you the administrator of the device giving you access to system files to delete them if you want to? (I looked it up on WIKI) Cause maybe I can include that in my hack.
Also I see another difference in this folder:
\FirmwareInstall\packages\fs_patch\root_patch\system\lib
In your readme you said these are shared libraries but I don't have a clue what that means. Do I need these files?

I found a way to handle this (only have tried this with the Metro PCS version SM-G360T1 but this should work with all versions and hopefully other new samsung phones with out direct OTG support as well.), it's been used via other Samsung phones but I have yet to find a post yet that speaks about this on the galaxy core prime (or anything other than the bigger phones like galaxy s6 and the like)
What you would need is to install Samsung's SideSync app on your computer (this is assuming you have a PC with windows.)
have a micro usb cable available (as I would expect most to have.)
along with the apk file to get you to the settings via the otg method.
(I can't post the link since i'm a new user which is great just add https:// to the following "mega.nz/#!ixQxUQII!6lMPLUFlMU3NPxq0tOUpvQ_hOokETC9kFLdPAqS0hk8" with no spaces in between. not sure if this is an internal issue but there should not be a space between S and 0.)

[Guide Ver. 2] Bypassing FRP Protection from Samsung Galaxy Core
Thank You EmperorofShambala! Worked on my Galaxy Core Prime although I took additional detours which others may find helpful as well.
Before this process I was lucky to have had this MetroPCS phone eligible for unlock so I unlocked it thru the Device Unlock App, hard reset it, but then ran into that google verification. I followed EmperorofShambala's directions but ran into a roadblock with SideSync. (I'm on a Mac) When I got to the part where I could download it on the phone, Galaxy Apps said SideSync did not exist in the store.
Here are the steps I followed (in Emperor's fashion but with additions that got it to work for me):
What you would need is to install Samsung's SideSync app on your computer, *also the free version of Airdroid.
have a micro usb cable available (as I would expect most to have.)
along with the apk file to get you to the settings via the otg method.
(I can't post the link since i'm a new user which is great just add https:// to the following "mega.nz/#!ixQxUQII!6lMPLUFlMU3NPxq0tOUpvQ_hOokETC9kFLdPAqS 0hk8" with no spaces in between. not sure if this is an internal issue but there should not be a space between S and 0.)

Now I'm using my T-Mobile service on it, although some MetroPCS apps and stuff are left over.

Going to the web was my original plan on this but unfortunately, I was unable to open anything i downloaded as the download would not appear in the notification bar at this point.

Samsung is fine. All you have to do is go to the "sammobile" website, download the firmware for your device and flash it in the "AP" slot in Odin. This does a true factory reset on the device and resets the FRP. I've helped many people overcome this problem this way and not only is it the easiest method, but, in my opinion, it's the only real way to do it. If sammobile doesn't have your firmware for some reason though then I would try this or whatever you can find that works.

You don't need OTG. You're just connecting your phone to your computer in "Download Mode". You just search your model number in the firmware section and you'll find the rest of the instructions(as well as the link to download Odin) at the bottom of the download page for your firmware.

1st start up SideSync to make sure its running.

when on the screen where it asks for your google account information on your phone (or as soon as you've gotten a data/wifi connection)
plug in your micro usb cable, in a few seconds you should see a "Open With" option appear on your phone with 3 options (Galaxy Apps, Chrome & Browser).
Now at this point you should also have access to the phones storage via your computer, in which at this point I would say to copy the apk file to wherever you feel comfortable.
From this point you can select "Galaxy Apps" which is basically a Samsung alternative to the Play Store.
from here, you can install an app in order to get to the storage files (es file explorer is one i quickly found.)
You will have to have a Samsung user account but you can create one on the spot if needed (will ask you to login or create an account) so as long as you have a working email this will be easy.
once you've logged in you can search and download and open the storage app, go to the area you placed the APK file, load it up, allow unknown sources, install, open to be redirected to Settings, do a factory data reset and BOOM!
you should be golden.
Hopefully this info stops the assholes who figured this out prior from trying to charge folks to do this, I literally just figured this out myself and stopped from losing a bit of money on this phone.

I have one question and I have some news for some of you.
I played around a bit with my new ViewSonic "SD-A245". Well, some of you knows (maybe), that this "version" is one of 3 possible solutions from them. First this unit is sold as VSD241 with Android Consumer Platform (with PlayStore), next version is the SD-A245 (my current unit) used as a cooperation platform to VDI-solutions and finally a unit called CDS245, made for signage solutions.
Based on the fact, that my unit is the SD-A245 version, the given Android version is the 4.2.1 with at last minimum functions I have ever seen on such units! Well it come with Citrix WorxHome nobody needs. Some functions are locked (the app "Device ID" reports "Emails:", but the device id is "NOT FOUND". The Google Store-used app has the version 1.1. So I think it should work...
Next time I'll sent photos, but I'm new here and has to check this, how it works first...
So how did I get access to the unit and how it was possible to set it up, that it works almost perfectly to my needs?
First I have installed the software "Wondershare MobileGO" with version 8.5.0. Under my unit you can connect it with the micro USB-plug onto the USB-plug from your computer. Doing so will popup USB-Debugging (activate this first, it is NOT blocked) and now this tool reports "Quanta SD-A245"! Wow! On the left tab you have "Apps" splitted into "User-Apps" and "System-Apps". Here you find "Settings" and the WorxHome App version 8.6.1. Click on it and try to delete it with the trash bin has no success! (don't worry here). On the upper tab you'll find "Installing". Here it is possible to install some "Apps" with *.apk format! Here it is easily to install apps without the need from the 24" tablet. Well, to keep it easy from now on, you should first install a file manager! Choose anything you like. I installed the "ES file explorer" with version 4.1.6.7.2. Install "Android ID Changer", "Apex Launcher", "Chrome", "Device ID", "Dr.Fone for Android", "Droid Info" (version 1.2.1), "Google Account Manager" (version 4.4.4-1227136), "Google Play Store" (version 8.1.25.S-all [0] [PR] 163906778), Titatium Backup (with Purify in version 8.0.2 and 2.1.5.265) and all your other apps you like!
What did I do first?
First comes the file explorer tool! Sure! Downloading *.apk files is possible from now on directly include executing them!
With the tool Titanium Backup I went (after installing them) into the "MENÜ" (in german spell) - it is on the top right corner, you can scroll down to find the propper entry to root your device (if someone wants to do that). There is also a button in the Wondershare MobilGO software (blue button "1 Click Root") but this is a fake (even to tool reports "your device is rooted") or will not work. Well, NO.
So use TB and all will work, follow YouTube Videos on that - or the information on the screen - easy to do!
After you started this process, the system hangs after around 10 minutes of "working". Don't worry, switch it off now, then on again and repeat this rooting process. Afte 1 minute all has done. Voilá, all is now like wanted (OK)!
I can provide a list what apps I have installed, but with a real file manager (installing them as bypass to the Citrix kernel) this was a real door opener here...
And now to another option, and my question (Google PlayStore crashes sometimes, and I did not get really access to the id of the system and Google can therefore not check, what apps are installed or which needs to be updated...
I just bought a fabolous HDMI Quad-Core USB-Stick with full working Android 4.4 plugged into it and powered from it and changed the input mode to now "HDMI". Well, the picture is not as good as from the system itself, but for around 25 Euro I can accept this little quality issue! I have now again an android system with 100% access to all my bought apps, my playstore, my accounts and so on...
We all know, that the touch is not working now. Connecting the micro-USB cable into the stick does not switch on the touch functions automatically. The MK809 III - USB-Stick supports only "general devices" like regular cable micees and keyboards, bluetooth equipmant and other, but not the touch controller from that unit itself. Well, windows 7/8 or 10 did respond to this and uses the correct driver (and it works), so I know the hardware platform now, but how can I tell Android 4.4.4 coming along with this stick that it "enable" this and use the built in touch controller???
How?
Does anybody has an idea?
I have read somewhere, that I have to compile "a driver information file" into the android's kernel??? Is this the solution???

I have an HP 11 Stream (ah117wm) laptop which has an embedded HD (32GB) and a Realtek wifi/BT m.2 card (rtl8822be); to which I installed Bliss OS 14.3-x86_64-202106261907_k-android12-5.10.46-ax86_m-21.1.3_r-x86_emugapps_cross-hd.iso.
As expected, the majority of things work fine, aside from the Wi-Fi/BT (can't enable either) as it seems no drivers are loaded for the hardware. I'm familiar with rooting phones and using Linux, but I'm new to android on pc's. My question is, how can I manually install/instruct the OS to said drivers? Would it be better to compile an android x86_64-Bliss os image for my device instead of using a currently available iso from their site to include the proper drivers for my hardware?
I haven't been able to find any post/forum with anyone using this particular laptop for Bliss OS. I can use the "[ROOT] alogcat" app to provide info. I also noted not all apps can gain root access amongst them are the Magisk app (can't identify the OS .img for direct patching), FX file browser can't access root dir access, and the default file manager doesn't see usb pen-drives (FX file browser does).
Any and all help you can provide is extremely welcome and appreciated as this OS flows fantastically on this device. Even Bliss os 15-android 12 runs butter smooth, albeit the same hardware issues.

UPDATE:
So I scrapped the 14.3 OS for 11.14 OS because the Wi-Fi /BT works. The downside is that the built-in updater menu doesn't connect to any servers to find updates. There are also issues with the microG suite replacement for Google Play Services, which causes limitations on which apps you can use, even if can install them. The included Aurora Store/Aurora Droid apps help update things out the box once you have internet access via Wi-Fi or in case you have a usb to ethernet adapter to get hardwired into your modem/gateway should you have issues getting wifi/BT to work. Some apps can't access play services to restore purchases such as Flipaclip as its tied to the platform (OS) store you bought it on, not your email like most apps are.
