Aldiko Premium - Android Apps and Games

What features are exclusive to the premium version?
It doesn't say anything at all about what's different from the free version.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.android.aldiko

Anyone?

That's something I've been wondering about myself and hopefully someone on this awesome forum knows the answer? Is it just a -feels good to pay- fee?

I love free-version, I read e-book in offline mode, open EPUB on SDcard, so the ads are not shown in offline. Update faster? I'm not feel about slow update

I use Aldiko Premium.
You can read "Adobe DRM"-protected e-books. This was the main reason, why I bought the app.
You can also costumize things like font, brightness, font size, font color, background color and so on.

Thanks for the explanation.

really? I don't think so. Maybe, they changed the free version, after I paid money for the premium!

I've been seeing this app FC consistently within Gingerbread (2.3.3) - does anyone know if there's a compatibility problem?

Definitely not. I use it on my Nook Color running CM7 Gingerbread.
(Most likely it is an issue with the custom ROM you're using.)

I'm also using Aldiko Free on my Nexus One running CM7 nightlies, no FCs.
As for ads, I don't really see them at all in the free version...
And there's already an option to sign in with your Adobe ID to view Adobe DRM files, but since I don't have an ID, I didn't really try it out.
So I suppose the only difference is just the ads?

I am not sure what the difference is between the current free and premium version but I will say that the older version of Aldiko is MUCH better than the current version except for it not supporting the Adobe DRM. After owning both I'd say that that the old version is faster, uses less memory and has more options.
My favorite option is being able change the brightness by simply draggin your finger along a specified portion of the screen. Super handy!

Font, font size and brightness are part of the free version. Also I believe background color, but only to sepia.

Touiteur twitter app

great article on what looks to be a very promising twitter app for android.
video walkthrough in there as well as a release date of feb 16
waiting anxiously!
http://androinica.com/2010/02/15/touiter-will-eventually-be-the-best-android-twitter-app/
and developer site is
http://levelupstudio.com/
Hmm, will try it when it's out.
I tried many twitter apps and it's going like this:
1. Twicca (beta)
2. TwidroidPRO
3. Seesmic
999. Tweetcaster
It's out!
How much does it cost? I can't check because I'm in Canada.

There is a free version and a €1.99 premium version.
Yes its out!
Trying it out now. The layout is great. I also turned on the group by color option in settings.
Definitely best ui for a twitter android client.
My only complaints so far is that refreshes seem a bit slow. I don't know if this has to do with the different login method. This doesn't store your login information on the app, instead you authorize it to connect with your twitter account so if your phone gets inti the wrong hands you can deactivate twitter permission from anywhere.
Also I would love to see threaded conversations.
Well, it's not bad. Nice longpress and shortpress features but only 10m refresh time?
Also like the oauth login.
I tried it a few minutes and right after using it I opened twicca and disliked the amount of tweets you see without scrolling on twicca xD Touituer is better with this

Oh lol, the premium one isn't worth it.. you can only set a color for LED notification and a light theme..

It's got a nice UI but still like Seesmic.
Also does this have twitter trends? because I can't find it.
It looks nice, but I still prefer Swift.
Fantastic. Exactly the type of app I've been waiting for. It's very pretty, functional, nice flare, looks like a lot of work went into it. Refreshing is a little slow, but it will improve with time. One of the best apps out there.
I can't wait to see more apps like this from Android developers.

Friendstream replacement for AOSP ROMs?

This is the only thing that I've been missing since moving from a Sense ROM/launcher.
Does a nice scrollable widget exist that's similar to the stock Friendstream one?
EDIT: I've tried out Socialite, but it seems to never sync properly and eventually force closes on the CyanogenMod nightly builds.
I miss it too.

EDIT: I was just too tired to realize what I was doing incorrectly. Trying to get a widget setup that looks decent.
All of the different variants of the Sense style widgets look really "off" for some reason. Looking further, it's definitely the pictures, as they trail a bit off the left side of the widget. (See pic)
I'm also not fond of the left/right arrows on the widget. I only set up FB, so I don't need non-working buttons.

Use the scrollable version with ADW/LauncherPro. It is better than FriendStream.
Like so:
Nice setup TheBiles.
PureMessenger > friendstream with the ability to use skins, add email and sms along with twitter and FB to stream, ability to select preferred clients for clicked feed, and oodles of config settings in a nice scrollable UI with ADW or launcherPRO. Well worth a buck-fifty.
I wouldn't consider Pure messenger better than Friendstream myself.
It's nice... but sadly needs a few fixes in my opinion
1) Won't display 'mobile upload' picture notifications properly. It only shows 1 picture in the internal viewer with no way to go directly to the person's photo list.
2) Pictures display as filenames in the list view, rather than the actual thumbnail as sense does. (This might be considered user preference, but I'd prefer to see a picture rather than <randomwords>.jpg )
3) No support for built in HTC applications for Facebook nor Twitter (aka peep). While the internal viewer can be dismissed in favor of a real 'app', the selection is limited to bout 3-6 apps none of which are the built in parts of HTC's rom. (Of course if you're not using HTC roms then this isn't problem
Overall it's a great app, and the best out there I've seen, don't get me wrong.. but Friendstream still has the edge in actual functionality for basic use. Sure, No themes, lack of customization hurt, but when it comes down to using the product for what it's intended for (Keeping up with posts/photos from your friends) it has a few issues IMO.

Overall it seems "ok" but lacking in some ways as well. You can't post directly from the widget, which is a huge strike against it. I want the widget so I don't have to clutter my homescreens with redundant apps.
Guess I accidentally went past my 24 hours so I am the proud owner, or some such thing.

I'm using the scrollable widget currently, and like I said, it's neat to watch updates, but it's a killer that I don't see an obvious way to post anything to FB/Twitter through the widget, instead I'm forced to use the app.
It just feels "clunky" for lack of a better term.
I will say that the widgets can be set up to look better, it just seems that some of the skins are definitely not ones any OCD person would want to use.

It's Launcher Pro. I'm using the Froyo wide dock (in settings) and just setting up normal apps and using the Launcher Pro icons for them.

Erm. You just click that little star, and select "update status." You never have to open the official apps. You can also click that little arrow and select "open Facebook" so you don't ever need an icon on the screen in the first place.

That's Extended Controls. The second icon is the Froyo hotspot toggle, but it does have a 4G toggle option. I just don't have it on there because 4G doesn't work with CyanogenMod at the moment.

Well crap, it looks as though I'd always been fat-fingering the arrow and only saw the "open Facebook" link in there.
I recant my previous statements and accept that this is a damn fine alternative to Friendstream. (after a little getting used to)
The only issue that I have with Pure Messenger is this: When a FB contact posts something on someones' wall it doesn't show who the other person is, even if the other person is one of your contacts it doesn't show.
Got socialite running on newest cyanogen nightly. Its pretty nice really, I actually like it better than friend stream.

Full screen image frame??

Hi,
been searching a couple of hours now and can only find apps like 'Photo Frame Deluxe' (ie. paid apps from the US Market). I don't live in the US and have Android on my HD2 so it's not native, therefore I cannot get this app (I don't get how to install market enabler). Anyone know a good widget (prefferably simple) that simply fills out my 800x480px screen in one of the home screens with one image?
I have this awesome background, though I want an image on one of the homescreens alone, and that's not possible of course, without it being a widget.
Going mad here. Is it perhaps simple to create an app like that? Can it be semi-transparent? Can it be without a background, so that the image decides the images transparency? Hmm..
If anyone makes an app like this maybe I'll even be willing to make a donation for it (after next wednesday when my paycheck appears, and the app will not have to be made until that, of course)
Not sure if this is what you are looking for but have a look at Big Photo Frame Widget v1.0

Is there any app on android. that can invert screen color?

Sometimes when we read pdf books or surf on the internet at night in the dark environment, the while background make us uncomfortable. Of course we may use screen filter but it lowers the light and make the words unclear. So is there any app that can invert screen color like ios does? I think android need such app too.
RenderFX widget on cyanogen roms or (I believe) chainfire3D does this.
Cm's widget seems only to add another color on the screen as a filter but never reverse all the color.
Hey, I'm looking for exactly the same thing! It would be quite a good battery saver for the AMOLED screen on my Captivate.
If someone makes/finds an app that can do that, then it would be totally awesome!
-Mike
I'd really like this as well. Can anyone recommend an app?
Thread Revive!
I would be a happy willing customer of an app that can invert the colors of the display- like PowerStrip on Windows. I surely don't know of one though.
Total Screen Control just adds colored filters.
I don't believe this is that easy.
Probably would require more than just an app, i.e. a custom kernel.
Some apps like google+, google voice, market 3.4.4, google music 4.1.5.12 can be found themed for more battery on rujelus22 homepage!
rujelus22.com/evo/
please thanks if you like
I very much want this, too! I just found this thread searching for such an app. Not only would it be great for night time viewing and amoled power savings, but it would also provide some wear leveling/un-burn-in effects for the notification bar, keyboards, etc.! Say you use the inverted mode 50% of the time, it would completely counter burn-in from the other 50%.
Please, someone, do it and I'll pay handsomely. I'll pitch in $20 to a bounty, anyways.
It should be almost as easy as CyanogenMod's render effects or Chainfire 3D's night mode. If they can take each pixel's intended color, calculate that minus green and blue, and output the result, they should be able to take the color, calculate the inverse, and output that, instead. I'm not a programmer, though, so I may be off base.
