Incubus' Super Eclair 2.1 R5 for Polaris (Wifi + BT)

Hi everyone! I'm here again to give you good news.
I would like to thank Incubus for his generosity and for his support. We would be nowhere if people like him didn't share their knowledge.
I got into some files and updates and I finally stumbled upon a working set of files that will allow you to start Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in our devices. I made it so we can install it without the need of updates. This build I modified is ready to work with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

You've got to use with the latest NBH > http://it029000.massey.ac.nz/vogue/files/?C=M;O=D. Please, make sure you have a NBH file released on 07-05-2010.
Don't forget that I only merged all the stuff and it worked like magic.
I really hope it will work for you too.
I'm now installing things via Wi-Fi and sending files to my Polaris using bluetooth!

It's strange. Wifi works for me. The camera won't work because it has not been ported to Eclair yet.
By the way, is there anybody that has tried out my modification with success? Please, send feedback.

Bluetooth File Transfer
How program you use for send/receive files via BT?

To receive you just have to turn BT on and pair the two devices. It will notify you when an incoming file is waiting (you've got to accept it).
To send I use an app that is named Bluetooth OPP Put Lite. Install it, go to ASTRO File Explorer and choose Send from the context menu. You will see a new option to send the file. I used it and it really works!

Well, wifi scanning is not working Wifi turns on but it does not scan. BT works fine.

maybe we could try with WiFi scanner, but without connection we can't go to the market (free)...

I used the .nhb of dzo's latest version (2010-05-07), then bt and wifi are working well.
But I found that Incubus' Super Eclair was much slower than Myn's

I think it w'onk work, but try it. For me, it worked at the very fist time. ztitan says it works for him, too.

tryed, but is the same...(but with 2€ less in my sim...it always connect to the network)

No way for me : I can't see wifi networks
I tested many times but impossible to use wifi !! I can turn on and off but no network...
I install again and boot twice...
Maybe you do something in install I don't in my phone

strange... doesnt finish the boot on my pola100

Could the radio rom be the issue? Which one do you use and which ones others? Lets compare?
Did you combine Kaiser wifi update for eclair and wlan.ko from dzo? That combination worked for me few days ago, and what was interesting that without dzo's wlan.ko wifi coud be enabled, but no scan.

Hmmmm i hade the same problem .. just i don't know what is the surce of it but tested everything and no problem at all .. try installing it on the root of your SD card

I had the same problem with the login. The solution is: change your password !
I have no idea why, but it worked for me. I tried many times to login , but without luck. After changing the password it worked yesterday and still works.

1.) Installation of skypeforpocketpc-2.2.0.18-beta.cab was unsuccessful.
2.) There are a ton of better upload sites.
3.) Got 2.2.0.18-beta.cab from somewhere else, installed it, after 10 min of loading an error pops up: "Couldn't start Skype."

Same here. Just for curiosity, which rom do You use? I understand that skype removed support from win mobile, but as i saw some users managed to make it work, so i'm starting to think that this error is a rom related issue ... mine is the latest official wwe 3.14.831.3

[Q] ad-hoc wifi network

I am thinking of picking up one of these, but I would need to be able to connect to an ad-hoc wifi network. does anyone know if this is possible? Also if anyone can tell me how much faster it appears to run after the stock overlay is removed I would appreciate it. Thanks all

As far as Ad Hoc, yes it can be done. Worked for me when I still had mine. Connected to the wifi from my Droid 1. You have to hack the wifi file a bit but its not hard.

can you tell me what you did to the wifi file? are you using wireless tether on the droid? thanks

Can you just rename the zip as update and run through the stock recovery?

The newer TnT Lite and VEGAn mods have this binary, already.
As for how much faster, not a lot versus adding a Tegra performance pack. If you want speed, you want the performance pack or run one of the mods above (especially VEGAn).

I want to keep it stock until after the next update. I just want to see how it works stock. Testing to see if this will be a good device for my father he isn't going to be flashing ROMS so I want to see what I can do with a stock ROM.

The Adhoc fix is in the wpa_supplicant file. You'll need to replace the stock version of that file from the version in the latest vegan or TnTlite build.
I'm not sure if you can simply connect to computer via USB, find the file, and replace it (I doubt it).
Perhaps you can create a recovery update that only replaces that one file. I don't know if it works, but you could try starting with a Vegan or Tnt build, keep the recovery folder, and delete everything in the update.zip except for the wpa_supplicant file.

No root fix for WiFi and APN - easy SimpleMobile APN Fix

This post is to address how to fix two major issues on the G2X without rooting or flashing . . .
A. How to fix the APN issue which causes the default APN to jump back to T-Mobile . . . after setting up a custom APN such as Simple Mobile . . .
B. How to get the DNS to work on WiFi so that you do not need to restart the phone or switch airplane mode on and off to get it to work.
For the brief time that I had the T-Mobile G2X I notices a couple of issues that were annoying as heck. Loved the phone, but hated that LG was too slow to fix these issues, so I came up with my own fixes / workarounds. I hope that this helps out the community.
A. To fix the APN issue:
Note: Make sure you follow all of the steps exactly / correctly or else it will not work.
1. Simply download APN Manager from the Market.
2. Make a backup of your configuration using APN manager
3. Delete all of the APNs on your phone using APN manager including the T-Mobile APN. (If you ever need it again you can restore it from your backup. You did make a backup right?)
4. Configure your new one and only SimpleMobile APN and set it as the
default
5. Enjoy your Fixed G2X phone
B. To fix the WiFi DNS Issue:
Note: Make sure you follow all of the steps exactly / correctly or else it will not work.
1. Simply Download DNS Setting by Daingo from the Market
2. Run the app
3. Enter the following settings:
I.P. Address: 0.0.0.0
Subnet Mask: 0.0.0.0
Gateway I.P: 0.0.0.0
Primary DNS server: 8.8.8.8
Secondary DNS Server: 8.8.4.4
4. Save and exit
5. Enjoy your Fixed G2X phone
Notes: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 are the I.P. Addresses for Google DNS servers, I am told that these DNS servers are blocked by T-Mobile / SimpleMobile, but they will work over WiFi with no problems and the DNS Setting app will only apply it to your WiFi settings, but if you decide to use a different app then keep that in mind.
Also, you may need to set your gateway address to your WiFi routers address, but generally if you set an address as 0.0.0.0 it will default to DHCP (or automatically assign)
This worked for me, and I certainly hope it works for you. I hope I saved many people many headaches.
Now if someone could only figure out how to calibrate the accelerometer.

I haven't seen this issue, but typically if it won't connect a hard reboot (vol+ and power simultaneously until the set reboots) fixes it.

The only other thing I can suggest is to use cleanup batch or nullifier and reinstall. Can't guarantee that it would fix the issue though.

Think G2x Scrubber as the same as the batch and e nullifier. Because I always used g2x scrubber to wipe my phone before even installing a custom rom so I don't believe is a problem emanating from there. Anyway thanks for ur consistent aid u giving me,just it doesn't solve ma problem fella.

Scrubber is not the same as batch, which is not the same as nullifier. Batch is my favorite because it removes and reconstructs all partitions.

Did all with the aid of the soft from the above links. But the wifi still not working. Am using ics Hellfire v1.9, am asking is there any ics good kernel I can flash to aid it working that you are familiar with?

Faux 0.14 beta AFAIK. But look in the kernel threads.
Edit: did you do fresh install after the wipe tools or restore from nandroid?

Your restore from nandroid is likely restoring your problem. Try a fresh install. Most folks here seem to like CM7.

honor 9 camera & root

I guys ! Sorry for my english, actually I'm French !
I've got a problem with my new honor 9 (STF-L09) that I've just rooted yesterday !
In order to root it, I have used Magisk - and I have to say that is was pretty hard for me to do it-
-the camera was OK before the root-
Since the root, my camera doesn t works anymore, and i have some other bugs that are less important, as some apps that are opening and closing chaoticly
The camera is oppened, and works for about 1 second, and then it's over and the app is closed.
I ve already tried to wipe and to make some factory resets, but it seems that nothing changes !
I saw that there was some roms on xda's rom; but I saw that it doesn t works well, and that there was some problems with it; some stability and digital recognicence problems, and it's written :

* Encryption *
* 4k video recording *
* FPS *
* Home button * "
so I guess that it means that the home button etc don t work anymore after that, and I dont want it

It looks to work well, but it seems not to work on my phone : the download starts, it s written '"downloading data", and then stops before to have dowload it completely ! (it stops as it stops with the camera, about a second after the launch)
Do you know an app that makes the same but that is using the computer ?

Do you think it would walk if I download the zip on another phone ?
So I have do download "update.zip", "public/data_public_.zip" and "STF-L09_hw_eu/update_STF-L09_hw_eu.zip" or do I have to download only one of them ?
There is 2 types of files :
-OTA-MF
-FullOTA-MF
I have to download both and instal both or is "OTA" an upgrade and "FullOTA" the whole system?
And so I have to use the full ota?

I don t know how to create a proxy, I have checked on internet, but I can t understand what do I have to do now, I don t understand this app !
I have two choices : I ve got the wifi, with 50kbps in download, or the hotspot android, that works well; but just dont know in both cases how to use the app and how to get the proxy
