[Q] Why my MyTouch 4g becomes very hot in the bottom? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hey guys, I have a question:
Would like to know, because my mytouch 4g is warming much in the bottom while using the internet as they do not use the internet, I look at the applications and do not see any application running when the phone is not in use.

iPhone 2G or HTC myTouch

So I'm switching back to T-Mobile. I'm getting their service without contract so I need to find a phone on craigslist for $100-$160. I have already owned a 2G iPhone on T-Mobile before, and I'm thinking of buying it again or getting the HTC mytouch (the first one). Both are about equal in price, which would you guys get? I've heard this phone was a bit sluggish when it first came out, but is it better now with the 2.1 update? mytouch users can you please tell me what you like and dislike about the phone? Or what used phone would you guys recommend for my price range? Thanks.
Anyone...?
HTC my Touch definitely
What are the advantages of the mytouch over the G1 besides the RAM?
:|
.
The original mytouch has the same RAM as the g1. It lacks a keyboard but has more ROM.
I would suggest getting the iPhone 2G mostly because of its apps. Right now, I am holding out for the HTC Vision/G1 Blaze but right now, Android 2.2 isn't running too good on my phone. It is useable but sometimes, it lags so bad I just go crazy.
But if you do get the mytouch 3G, root it and install the rom called SuperBad 1.7. It is android 2.1 and that ran SOOOO smooth.
I ended up buying a mint mytouch for $100. It came already rooted on 1.6.
Also, the previous owner had a new voicemail notification that I can't seem to clear or get rid of. I tried calling the voicemail and just listening to it but he has a password and I can't get a hold of him. Is there any way I can manually delete the notification? It won't clear like it does for messages/new app installs, etc.

G1 or MyTouch 3G?

Both are under 100 and need to choose one to tide me over until the end of December. From reading the specs, they appear about the same cept for a keyboard?
Am I missing anything?
Get the mytouch, I recently upgraded from a G1 to a epic 4g. If you're getting a phone right now the G1 one if just too slow, rams too limited. The mytouch has more RAM meaning you can install more programs before the phone starts slowing down.

Fun while it lasted

Which wasn't long.
For the life of me I cannot get this phone to stay connected to 4g. I really don't want to have connection issues show up after my 30 day exchange.
Converted back to stock and exchanging for a Nexus.
Shame really, this phone is better than the Nexus, but only when it's working.

I'm going to hate myself for actually replying to this, but here goes...
so you exchanged a phone that was having trouble connecting to 4G with a phone that doesn't even have 4G? OK, have fun with that...
ever considered having the phone exchanged with another mt4g and having them set it up there?

just making sure by having problems staying connected to 4g do you mean keeping "H" service and it drops to "3G"

Did you ever consider that your phone could be defective? Try out another one before just giving up
At least you experienced 4G. I don't get 4G where I'm at. I'm currently at school and I don't even get 3G because I'm at bumblefuck.
1) so having a phone that cant connect past edge is somehow better than one that can because it says it can do 4g?
2) it wont stay on wcdma.
3) they were sold out of nexus s so I exchanged for a white mt4g and will give this one a go. If it doesnt play ball, its my last one. Im not going to join the ranks of "oh yeah im on my fifth mytouch 4g.."

To those of you who had to root using gfree, if you have trouble with 4g similar to what I've detailed, you might have a bad radio.
After exchange, with new white mytouch, I didn't need to use gfree. S=off stuck using root.sh and my antenna is running 4g strong.

Well I suppose you are on to something. The nexus S is a flawless phone, no bugs...Only the MT4G needs to be exchanged, there hasnt been other bugs found in other phones.(Sarcasm...)

When I'm back at home (philly), I usually get good connection. Around 4 Mbps. I just don't think that's a 4g speed. And I can't do anything about the speed when I'm at school.

Well, the second MyTouch 4g isn't lasting long. Now, when I get a lot of SMS at the same time as using Pandora, the phone restarts.
Also, light is leaking out of the bottom buttons. Pretty badly to the point where I can almost see the LED behind the buttons and the bottom left of the screen is glowing even though I have a TPU case.
The 4G problem still exists. I'm guessing it's a tower problem near my campus because it's always as soon as I get to school that the 4G just dies. So I might just leave T-Mobile.
When I had a MyTouch 3G, my connection was always strong. Sure it wasn't 4G, but I literally always had 3G in San Diego no matter where I went. I wouldn't lose 3G unless I started driving to Sacramento and once I got a hundred miles north of Los Angeles, it would drop to Edge. But in San Diego, Los Angeles, a few miles out of each city, Sacramento, Davis, Berkeley, San Fransisco, with the MyTouch 3G I always had 3G.
With this phone, I can't even be in my girlfriend's apartment (in the middle of San Diego) without losing 4G or at school.
The h you see in your status bar isn't always 4g sometimes its hdpsa or 3.5g.and as long as you see a 3 there is still a chance its 4g the only way to tell if your I'm 4g is to run a speed test.so as long as you still see 3g there is no need to complain

Dude, did you read my post?
I'm not getting data! I don't care about the letter. It could be a 3, 3g, xyz or a smiley face for all I care. The problem is I have four full bars and the H symbol but data isn't working. It won't switch to edge unless I go into settings and change it to GSM only.
This is the second mytouch 4g doing this to me. It doesn't matter if I'm rooted or running custom or vanilla sense. It still has spotty data.

Go get a nexus s and gtfo. You clearly hate your mt4g anyway, and you seem dead set on a nexus s. Also, since you dont want to be in the ranks where youre on your 5th mytouch 4g, go join the nexus s side.

I am having the exact same issue with my MT4G. It'll show a data connection (E or H) and a strong signal, but it will do absolutely nothing. Nothing that relies on data works. And yes, I've already gotten a new SIM card, didn't fix the issue.
It goes back and forth between showing a strong connection to "limited service" and back.
This phone is going back, hopefully my replacement MT4G has the good screen and data that actually works.

[Q] Sprint connection on Nexus S 4g

I just bought a nexus s 4g, and have a question about the connection. my friend who has a older blackberry will show full bars when sitting next to me but ill show 2 or occasionally one. Also for my wireless my desk is pretty close to my router and im often at 1 bar for my wireless. Is there anyway to fix this using the stock rom? I was using cm7 but that seemed to make matters worse.

Mytouch 4g Fly???

My wife lost her Mytouch 4g. She called insurance to get a new phone and they said all we have to offer you is the Mytouch 4g Fly. Being the android fanatic that I am I normally recognize every android phone available. This phone they were offering however did not come to mind. They said its exactly the same as the mytouch 4g but with a slide out keyboard. So i asked if it was the Mytouch 4g Slide and they said "uhhhh I don't think so". So WTF? Is it the same or not. I've looked up specs for the Slide and it is quite a bit better than the regular mytouch 4g. Please tell me if I'm right in thinking its the slide? Also please forgive me for my ignorance for I am a G2X owner.
mytouch 4g fly lol. sounds like another retarded employee. i too think he was referring to the slide
mytouch 4g slide is way better than mytouch 4g by the way.
