I'm looking for an app that will check my IP address, log it, and search my past logs to see if that IP has been used previously. There may not be an app like this but sounds pretty easy to make. If anybody could do this I would be glad to pay and know of a group of people who would also be glad to pay for an app to do this.

I searched the market and downloaded like 9 different apps. Many would show me my IP, but none would log or search past IP's.

You are the man. That sounds very much like what I'm looking for. However, I can't seem to find that app in the market (or anywhere. 4shared/applanet).
EDIT: The market website says its not compatible with the SCH-i500
I found an app
https://market.android.com/details?id=org.movingstuff.IpTrack&feature=search_result
If that app would do 3 things it would be perfect:
1. Show the external IP in the history without clicking on each individual entry.
2. Search for repeat addresses and show a dialog box if used before.
3. A widget would be awesome!

Let me make this more clear for you.... I recently downloaded the palringo app....that comes from palringo....I got a message from my server that says an ip address in the UK has been searching through my accounts. So I tracked them down, and it went straight to palringo. The application stole my account info
@nikko1000
Actually your explanation isn't very clear.

- ok maybe you don't get this...
1. I downloaded palringo on my android phone
2. I got a message saying that i can't log in on the app
3. I went online, and i got a message from my email, saying that there is suspicious activity on several accounts, coming from 1 ip address
4. I looked up the IP address, it went straight to palringo
5. I posted this up, and complained multiple times, and looked up other people having the same problem.

So what happens when you try to log into palringo via there desktop app?
You said you were able to check your email - so does this mean your IM accounts that palringo uses are still working?
You didn't answer most of my questions, but nevermind...
Why is it so weird and suspicious to you, that there were connections from Palringo IP, if this is exactly what Palringo should do?

you're still not getting this - they showed that they logged in with their ip address, and changed information on mine, without permission, obviously meaning that they logged in, with the info that was given to them
they showed obvious proof that they were trying to change my password, so i had to recover it through my cellphone

Yeah, but this is how Palringo works - it connects to services from Palringo servers. So if e.g. someone guessed your Palringo password, then he got access to all your connected accounts and all connections were from Palringo IP.
I mean: that may not be a guy from Palringo, but anyone who got access to your Palringo account.
this is not a random person, my password is practically un-guessable.... its a 20 letter code.... example : XAO352Fs3934HOe93kdj..... and who would have access to my account? i don't share my password, or my cellphone

1. WHICH Account? Do you mean just your palringo account, or all the IM accounts you are using with it?
Here is my guess of what's happened.
You installed Palringo on your Android device, started up and everything looks normal.
Now ONE (or maybe more?) or your IM accounts is indicating there was some weird activity.
You went to whatever IM account and noticed a bunch of connections from the palringo servers. (This is OK and actually not a problem - as that's how the palringo service works)
Thus - your handheld is probably logging you out and logging you in again over and over - which causes your IM service to think there is a problem when there is not. Either your 3G is going off or your wifi is going off - prolly when you put your phone in standby.

Good question. It *does* sound like you hacked somehow - but I seriously doubt that anyone at palringo had anything to do with it.
Either someone got your palringo username/password and then changed your passwords to gmail and facebook via that (if you even can) - or you were hacked some other way.
I would take a close look at your home computer (or any other machines you've used lately) and make sure you have no virus / trogans / mailware etc on those because odds are that's actually where the hack happened.
Have you had any luck recovering your facebook and gmail accounts? What a bummer I know how bad that sucks.
So, IP addresses usually point to ISP s... How did you track and identify this organization or individual?

Are you using the phone's native email app? Some people, myself included, have been having problems with this. I didn't really get far in getting in fixed, but I did download the k9 email app and it's working perfectly. If you're not already using that, give it a try.

Good, I hope that works for you. My native email app worked for the first 10 days or so and then just stopped fetching my email completely. Then when I would try and refresh, I would get error messages. I changed a few settings which allowed me to refresh and get new emails but it would never fetch on it's own again. I think some changes were made as k9 made an update right afterwards with a changelog that said something like; updates to security for IMAP and others. I think some changes were made that we weren't aware of but only affected certain people. It's a bummer as I really enjoyed HTC's full screen email widget!
Solution is straightforward. GO to Accounts, account settings, go to outgoing settings, and change the last two :
Security Type: TLS
Server Port: 587
Dont ask me why this works or what it means. I have absolutely no idea. I saw it somewhere on another device once and wrote it down 'just in case'. And it works!!
I bought my (T-Mobile) G2x a couple days ago, switching from my HD7. I'm generally happy (and my mom is happy to be using my old phone), though I had some problems with getting 4G to work, but it's resolved now.
I'm completely new to Android and of course the G2x. I want to know what apps are a must have, any suggested mods regarding battery life or whatever, and anything else that would make my current experience an even better one!
Thanks!

If you use swype, drag from the tips button to the SYM button to bring up arrow keys

Okay. Try this, it should work:
1. From the home screen of your phone press Menu > Settings > Accounts & Sync > Add account > Corporate
2. Enter your username and password. You username should be your full school email address. For instance: [email protected] ... Yours will be different depending on your school.
3. Press Next and then you should be taken to the screen as shown in the screen shot below. Fill it out like I have it in the screenshot, only replace the email address with your actual address (leave the backslash at the beginning of the email address). **EDIT** - Couldn't get screenshot to show so I just inserted a link to the screenshot.
4. Press Next and then confirm any prompts that pop up. It may ask you to allow the server to make some security changes to your phone.
5. Once you complete the setup, go the Mail app on your phone and it will ask you about enabling the security changes again. It also details what those changes are. (I think here is also where it prompts you to set up how often your email syncs.)
That should be it and your school mail should now sync to your phone. If that doesn't work then let me know.

I used to use syncsms and while it was good it sometimes would just not work, and it utilized dropbox which I wasn't a fan of. This is awesome and uses google chat or email. All I did was create a new gmail just for this purpose and keep google talk logged into it on my tablet. Just wanted to share the wealth and all props goes to Koush who also developed RomManager, man that guy is awesome.
i love this app with the Chrome extension, but found that it was cluttering up my gchat contact list with people's phone numbers as contacts. To fix I set the app to only send emails and filter them in Gmail. I like the idea of setting up a separate email address to handle that issue.
I take it you have to side load on the TF? Market shows incompatible for TF but good for my N1
You install the app on your phone, then i use google talk to receive the messages on the transformer. The app just forwards the messages

Ah OK, got it thanks.
I use textab for this feature. Works very well.
I dont like using Bluetooth, and this way they don't need to be near eachother to work in case I forget my phone
TextTab does work well when I was using the beta, only thing I wish it did was enable upon boot. I always forget to enable it after phone or tablet boot up.
I use SynSMS except like mentioned it's not always reliable.
I like this DeskSMS so far. I can get rid of Mighty Text and SyncSMS and replace with one app.
Also with this as with SyncSMS, I can leave my phone home and on while out of the country and still get my SMS.
I use the google voice app on my transformer. It is the same as on my ATRIX. I can text and read and listen to voicemails.

Nothing is install on the tablet, it forward your sms to Google Talk.
It work for me at first but now it does not forward amy sms to my google talk.
It does sync with my Chrome extension
mine still works, I also have the google talk desktop program and get it through there too
So if i use google voice there's no reason to use this right?
nope..not really
edit: as long as you sideload google voice onto the tablet

I want to add a reminder to Inbox, which makes URL links clickable, to open an app on certain dates (in this case Nook.)
Is there any way I can make a URL that when clicked on my phone, will open that app on the phone?
The closest I've got is going to its Play Store entry.
Thanks!

I don't it will work that way because the app is on your device, your device nor your app are Web pages so how could a URL do this? Unless you can figure something similar to how an email with an XDA link can be opened in the XDA labs or Tapatalk app.
You can probably set something up between Gmail and Tasker to open the app.

Well I figured that Chrome had a way to parse certain links locally without a connection. Maybe something like app:// or local:// etc.

URLs don't work without being connected to a network that I know of. I could be wrong but when you click a link it has to run its course thru the network to find the URL, if that URL is on your device it still needs to go out over the network and make its way back to your device to open whatever you set the URL to open on your device.
