--> Add twitter list as RSS :
http://twiterlist2rss.appspot.com
If your a twitter fan (who isn't?), you can add your lists to the widget !
Simply get your twitter list URL (should look like this: http://twitter.com/#!/joenrv/android and paste it into the box on http://twiterlist2rss.appspot.com. Copy the second link (RSS) you get and paste in the widget settings. Done.
--> Add Facebook Notification/Statuses as RSS :
You can also add your Facebook feeds by following to these links:
http://www.facebook.com/notifications.php
Look for the "Via RSS" button on top of the page, copy the generated link and paste it in the widget settings. Done.
http://www.facebook.com/posted.php
The RSS Icon is on the left of the page, get to generated link and change "feeds/friends_notes.php" to "feeds/friends_status.php". Copy that url and paste into the widget settings. Done.
--> 2 Easy ways to copy/paste from dektop PC to phone
1/ Chrome to Phone ! Donwload the app and the chrome extension, get to the website you want on your PC, click the RSS link, then click the Chrome to Phone icon on the right. You can get that URL on your phone through the Chrome to Phone app interface, long press your link, copy and paste that into the widgets settings. Done.
2/ QR Codes ! copy any URL into http://qrcode.kaywa.com/ on your PC, generate a QR Code, flash it with any barcodescanner on your phone, copy and paste the link into the widget settings. Done.

Amazing app, the pop up just sold me, it was exactly what I was thinking it would be amazing as going in and out of the browser seemed a bit silly. Thanks!
Now I'll be waiting for the native twitter feed :] (again the google app is over the quota)
Question: How the integration with google reader works? I have two gmail accounts, the principal using my normal blog feeds. I thought of using the second account to add the widget feeds (as I dont want them to show up in my blog reader) but when I click in Connect to Google Reader, just the feeds of my principal account shows up. Both accounts have google reader sync on the settings of the phone. Maybe it can't be done yet? if so, can you add this ability?
Thanks again ;]
What weather widget you are using on top of simiclock?

Hey darius! Great to have you around
Twitter integration will come soon, but i focused on google reader for the first version.
About the accounts, it's the first thing i need to fix tonight. So far I just get the first google account on your account list, but I'm gonna put an intermediate screen to choose which account you want to use. Update coming very soon.
Thanks for the support darius!

Mmmm, still that "feed leaking" is happening across different widgets. A refresh fixes it, but would be nice to polish that out.
Nice app but can you pls put it on Androidpits App Center (Androidpit.com) because i dont havea creditcard and i am not able to buy this nice app in the ofgical market pls

I know, it's the last annoying problem that I have to figure out, but the problem comes from the android system itself which doesn't seem adapted for several widgets of the same type at the same time (if you have working examples of that kind of widgets please let me know).
Especially on reboot, the systems updates the widgets at the same time and that's what makes the display command right for the first widget but wrong for the rest.
If you have ideas on how I can avoid this issue don't hesitate to share them. I'll keep working on a solution for this.
In the meantime, you can solve the issue with just two clicks so it's not that bad.

Ou no, sorry man, I have no idea about how stuff works in Android :/ Still, that aint such a hard pain, just a refresh and done.
But, for such kind of widget, I think Extended Controls would be the primal example, right? Lots of same type of widget, each with its own controls. Yet it aint similar in how Minimal Reader works.
Great app, bought it. Works awesome!

Featured @ Android Police ;D
First saw this on the market after using the free version for a while (but not heavily, as GReader sync is vital)
I saw this and got it. I've been hooked ever since... awesome job
Only thing I dislike is that the timer that checks when the next story should be displayed does not seem to reset when I manually go to the next story, it can ocasionally skip to the next story after 1-2 seconds

I've published yesterday [23 nov. 2010] the first version of a scrollable news widget. This is my first attempt at android development.
I've tested the widget against Launcher Pro and ADW Launcher quickly and quite extensively with Zeam. It still needs some work (amonst other things: theming, feed validation, feed lookup, ...) but it is still usable -- meaning i use it.
Since version 1.4.0 GReader and news sharing are supported through Scrollable News Addons (paid app).
The addon has been unpublished as it won't be maintained anymore. Its features will in time be integrated into the main app.

Loaded it in the market but wasn't able to launch the widget or to use the configuration menu. It only shows a grey screen, although Menu button works in config mode..
I have a Desire rooted with miui rom 0.11.12
Doesn't work neither with Launcher Pro nor with the DEll Launcher..
Hi Berliner,
Thanks for testing this widget. That's weird. I got a few comments in the market console that report a similar behaviour. However i'm not able to reproduce it. The grey background may indicate either that the widget feeds cannot be parsed or that scrollable widgets are not enabled.
I use android-rome-rss the fetch the feeds. Perhaps there is something to dig there? What feed(s) did you specify?
Just tested on N1,ADW...works fine.
Needs a rss search of course...
But very nice, even like the widget
But I already use "AtomaRSS" which got a wonderful customization option...
Hi Rori,
Indeed AtomaRss is very similar, feature-wise. I discovered it yesterday when i opened this thread because xda suggested a list of related messages. Since choice is always good, i will maintain and try and improve this widget.
Anyway, thanks for trying out the widget. Truth is i'm a bit lost here: i don't understand why it works like a charm for some people and doesn't even load for others (as is the case for berliner). I get the same mixed messages in the comments and ratings. I still don't know how i can pinpoint the actual issues.
hey mate, awesome app, would be good if it gave a list (or used default browser) to view 'full' article - in my case the in built one doesn't seem to work, but that might just be a problem at my end.
Also maybe the option to have a limited number of words in the content area, eg. instead of having the full story have like say justa set number defined in the settings, eg. 15, 25, 50, 0(all)?
Other then that, I love the look, can basically blend in with any theme
Looks awesome, matching very well with the launcherpro widgets
Unfortunately it won't work on my i9000 either. The widget is there but no feeds will display (i tried the default feed + one other).
Hi,
short hint from widget dev to widget dev:
You should add the following code to your "receiver"-tags in the AndroidManifest.xml to allow ADW to automatically turn on the scrollable widget setting!
Code:
<meta-data android:name="LauncherMetadata.Requirements.Scrollable"
android:value="true" />
Looks lovely on my DHD, nice work
Hi all,
Thanks a lot for your feedback. I hope i can solve the no-loading issue thanks to boombuller's advice. However what worries me is that i tested it successfully with the free version of LauncherPro (pretty quickly though). Anyway i'll add that to the next version -- hopefully pretty soon.

Hi Dodgylegs,
Thanks for your feedback, however i desperately need further intel to try and understand what's going on. Thus i have a silly question, since this works well for me. You use LP and did make sure scrollable widgets are activated, right?
The trick Boombuller provided works well with ADW (scrollable widgets get automatically activated), but not for LP. I have not yet published the new version though.
I like the look of this!
Any chance it can hook into your Google Reader subscriptions...?
Thanks for the app. Looks great, works great.
+1 for the suggested integration with google reader

Hey Champ
Yeah, using LPP. I put in a feed link, say http://www.androidcentral.com/feed and save - then - I get no feeds in the widget, just the title Latest News
My bad.... solved with the right link! Apologies. Great Widget!

I'm glad you worked things out. Feed/URL validation is indeed a critical feature that is missing. It is planned for a coming version. I begin to think that I should assign a higher priority to it because i'm wondering if invalid feed urls are not the cause of all the "grey widget issue" reports. Thanks for telling me this.

Initially i didn't plan to integrate Google Reader (i actually planned not to). But this could certainly be done and i'll consider it. However please note this is not on top of the todo list.
You should set up a paid version that does have google reader integration. I'd certainly purchase it and I'm sure many others as well.
I'm using LPP and can't get any feeds to show up. Even the default Reuters feed that came with the app fails to load any feeds so I don't think that it is a url issue. If there is a way for me to get you any usable info off of my phone please let me know.

I really like the idea, but I'm noticing some titles getting cut off and when you resize the widget with LPP the arrows don't line up correctly.
Great looking widget, but I'm having trouble adding some feeds.
I couldn't get this to work: http://www.dr.dk/nyheder/service/feeds/allenyheder

What characters are cutting off the titles ? could you give me a feed url to test it?
As for the sizes, I haven't considered the possibility of resizing yet, I'll look into it. Which size are u resizing it to?

Indeed, it seems to come from the xsl format of that page. It gets generated as you request it with a browser so it's not a physical xml file. I'll look into it see if I can get it to work.

Yes for now only white and manual refresh (the publication date is recalculated every 20mins though), i was waiting for some feedback to see what parameters should i make editable in priority.
Next version will have black text/arrows and set refresh time in the settings.
Any other settings you would like to make editable ?

Black looks better with my current wallpaper.
Settings for automatic synchronizing would be nice.
Widget in different sizes.
That's it. Nothing more. Like the minimal aspect
Got this on my x10,
Love it really nice, auto refresh rates would be great
Noted.
New version with black theme and auto-refresh coming up

weather widget?
Thanks for the app! Can you share the name of the weather widget in the first screencap?
as it is called the weather widget that you use in this homescreen??
hey man, great idea for app.
im afraid it will not add this feed - http://feeds.feedburner.com/absolutepunknet
first time playing with rss readers and junk, so maybe im missing something.
cheers.
So far I can only run one RSS feed at the time. I am I missing some thing? Other than that it looks great.
Not bad
I love the look but adding feeds could be easier, and at this point it seems to have frozen on me after adding 2 feeds.
Love it!
Love the simple design! looks great with "Clockr" simple time widget.
Thanks!

TweetLine for Android
Version 1.5.1
Ergonomics, customization, and speed are the master words of TweetLine
Tweetline is a great Twitter client for your Android smartphones and tablets.
It brings you Twitter with all the new Android design guidelines, but compatible since Android 2.1. This is a very complete application with an awesome multi-columns UI which permits you to personnalize your Twitter experience as much as you want. Combined to a lot of personnalization features (text color and size, application themes for example), TweetLine is YOUR new Twitter client.
Thanks to the left sliding menu, you can see your profile at any time and keep an eye on your mentions (for example) at the same moment. This is very easy, smooth and beautiful. And you can display even more informations on this menu : the profile of other users, your followers and followings, but also your lists, global and local trends, your retweeted tweets, and you can also make search (for tweets and users) inside it.
But you don't just have a menu to make TweetLine your own application : you can add anything you want as a column on its multi-columns interface ! You can add your favorites, but also a search about a subject you want to survey like a TV show, a football match with your favorite club, or even about a new device that you want to buy. Lists are also available as columns, so you can really use them to select informations you want to read. And of course all the other kinds of informations available on Twitter.
The column manager give you the power to add, remove and reorder your columns exactly as you want, with a cool drag and drop interface. Don't hesitate to get an eye on screenshots to make your own opinion.
You can try TweetLine for free thanks to the free *and AD-FREE* version, and you can go even further with the TweetLine Premium version, which is available at 1,99 dollars (1,59 euros).

--> widget
--> and of course, all others features that may come in updates for TweetLine premium (I am always listening to your needs !)
Actually, the free version won't have updates for new features but only for bugfixes and other corrections. And at the beginning there are 2 main restrictions :
- you won't have access to your lists
- you won't be able to have more than 5 columns inside the app
All other features of the paid version will come in updates but you can be sure that I am very invested in the development of TweetLine and that all the new features announced will be gradually and continually available. I am sure that TweetLine can make its place in the Twitter clients world and that it has the potential to be loved ; at least, I do all my efforts for it.
One last important message : All great people who have supported the project by buying the donate version of TweetLine will receive the paid version of TweetLine, TweetLine Premium, just by making the update !

Nice, new twitter app with ICS design, i'll try it now & if you need to translate your app i'm here for ARABIC
Ah another holo design twitter app. Will have a go at this ^^
EDIT : Ugh, unable to login. It goes on a login loops. Hope you will fix this.
EDIT 2 : Close the app, wait for awhile and tried again. Works :
Time for some reply :
Change Subscribers and Subscriptions to "Followers" and "Following" respectively.
Move "Timeline" to first tab, followed by "Mention" then "Direct Message".
Probably smooth scroll when for example, when you press "Timeline", it scrolls to the top smoothly.
App crash when phone screen timeout.
The "Eye" image at the bottom left of "My Profile" page, the text is not English.
-------------
Really impress with this app. This could go far. I hope this app won't be abandoned! Cheers, dev.!
Thanks for report

Yes the login problem is kind of random but it is a know bug as I had written. I will change this wording for next updates
There will be a column manager in several updates so you would be able to change the order of Timeline, Mentions, etc
I dont understand your problem with phone screen timeout because nobody for 3 months detect this bug, this is strange :/ but I will investigate.
Thanks for your report !

Just a small feature request, could we possible have a small loading circle when the tweets are loading?
For example : the screenshot provided. It doesn't show any loading bar or anything. It would be good if there's a small loading circle at the middle. Thanks!
i would like to ask for 2 things!!!!
-in Tweetdeck app you write the tweet and when you click ''send'' it's automatically appears in the timeline, without any load or delay...can you do that??
-can you put the SEND button a litte bit more near of the keyboard???, to ppl with large screen devices, its so bad that button at top of the screen....
thanks!!!!!. amazing app!!!
lovin it!
What is the ETA for notifications to be implemented? That is the one core feature that needs to be activated for this to be constantly used for continued testing as primary client thanks

Should be in the next update for the first version of notifications (look at the settings, the notification are alleready in it). For the update after this one we could see the JB notifications comming (second version)
I present here a new app.
It allows you to choose up to eight contacts, which will be shown in a notification or a configurable sidebar. Tapping the contacts will allow you to call, message, whatsapp, email or many other things. This allows a faster workflow when you need to call someone when you are doing other things.
Just install the apk, open the Contacts Notification app, choose your contacts and press update.
The notification will automatically appear after a reboot, so you only need to do this once or to change your favorite contacts.
I promise I am not storing or doing anything with your contacts.
Market link:
Contacts notification +sidebar
Custom themes:Go to your sdcard, folder ContactsNotification/overlays.
There create a folder, for example, mytheme.
Into that theme add a border.png, sms.png and phone.png file. They must be 500x500px png files. pohne.png and sms.png must have border if you want it to show. A sample file, called "holo by dapaua.zip" is included.
To show the sidebar (if enabled) , just slide your finger over the trigger area.
Code:
TASKER support.
am startservice -a com.dapaua.contactsnotification.ACTIONS -e action ACTION_NAME
Where ACTION_NAME is:
POST_NOTIFICATION. Posts or refreshes the notification
HIDE_NOTIFICATION. Hides the notification
ENABLE_SET_A. Enables contact set A. Use POST_NOTIFICATION afterwards
ENABLE_SET_B. Enables contact set B. Use POST_NOTIFICATION afterwards
Use of this command line with Tasker:
Create a new task, call it CN_enable_A.
Add an action of the type Script - Run Shell.
in command , type:
am startservice -a com.dapaua.contactsnotification.ACTIONS -e action ENABLE_SET_A ; am startservice -a com.dapaua.contactsnotification.ACTIONS -e action POST_NOTIFICATION
if you are using the sidebar, type only:
am startservice -a com.dapaua.contactsnotification.ACTIONS -e action ENABLE_SET_A
Create a new task, call it CN_enable_B.
Add an action of the type Script - Run Shell.
in command , type:
am startservice -a com.dapaua.contactsnotification.ACTIONS -e action ENABLE_SET_B ; am startservice -a com.dapaua.contactsnotification.ACTIONS -e action POST_NOTIFICATION
if you are using the sidebar, type only:
am startservice -a com.dapaua.contactsnotification.ACTIONS -e action ENABLE_SET_B
Use these two tasks to change the sets on the notification. You can use it with a timer, or position, or whatever. I am not going to explain how tasker works. I implemented this because I was asked to and I found it interesting.

HISTORY
Version1.1 has some cosmetic changes in the notification.
-----
Version1.2a:
-Up to 6 contacts can now be added. Small screens may show really small icons for last contacts.
-Default action can be chosen from Menu, Dial or SMS. SMS not working yet, sorry. Icon overlays are planned so you know what the icons do.
-Slightly nicer settings screen.
-Option to disable notification icon, toast (the small notice telling you to wait), and start at boot.
-Can now be disabled without uninstalling.
This version won't be uploaded to the market. I'll upload it when I enable SMS and overlay icons.
-----
Version1.2b
-Fixed JB compatibility. Now notification drawer should fold by itself.
-Added contact icon sizes, so all 6 icons fit in small phones ( I hope)
-SMS option works.
-Black theme
-Still ugly

Should show facebook too. It should show all linked accounts and services for the contacts.
I'll add screenshots next week.
Updates
I added the market link, it'll work in some hours, according to google. Also added the required screenshots. Enjoy.
Nice idea but shame it's only for ICS. I still have Atrix on Gingerbread. :/
Cute and quick!
Since no text is displayed, for most contacts, I only have the default avatar-icon. So it alternates two gray-scales but that does not tell me the contacts.
For contacts with no avatar or picture, could have or text (may be option with pic as well!) or a way to choose one of a few icons. Of course, I should just take some pictures and use them.
BTW, one of Nokia's weird half-touch GUIs used such a scheme for its contacts.

You are right, I am thinking about showing text for contacts with no picture.
But you should definitely add pictures to your contacts. They will show on all your android devices, and even on your computer if you use gmail. I know that it is a time investment to set all your contact info, merging all contacts (you know "dad home", "dad mobile" ) . But it will make your phone much more useful if you do.
I didn't know Nokia phones did that.
Thanks for the suggestions.
I just checked out both your apps at the play store. Great ideas and potential.
Keep up!
I don't know if it's just my phone/set up (Evo 4G, Evervolv JB nightly 02/18/2013), but when I tap the icon in the notification drawer, I have to pull the drawer up manually to get to that contact; if this is how it's supposed to work, it'd be helpful if it automatically pulled the shade up so your contact is waiting there for you. Other than that, cool app and very handy!

It should automatically fold the notification drawer. It did in my trials. I don't know why is it not working for you.
Another idea: Than 4-5 would be too much but the alternative for those who really do want more would be ... slide 'em. I think Nokia's widget works that way.

I could add more contacts, I just thought four were enough. In my screen more than four wouldn't fit, though.
I cannot make them slide, because notifcations cannot be laterally scrolled. They can be expanded in JB, but I don't have a JB phone to try it, and the emulator doesn't really work properly.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Nice app! I have two feature requests:
1. Can you remove the icon in status bar? I like to see the carrier name and on my AT&T Samsung GS3 your app icon replaces that.
2. Could you add a feature to configure a default action for a contact such as "call mobile" or "call home" or "sms", etc? I'd like to just hit the icon and have it start dialing. If you can do this you want want to add some overlay text or an icon to indicate the action (a phone or text icon).

Great app with a lot of potential.
Some suggestions (also mentioned by some other users)
1.Give option to show or not the icon in taskbar
2.Allow to choose default actions when icon is pressed for direct calling
3.Give option to show selected contacts OR latest contacts from call log (it will give the program a call notification function also) !
4.Fix the total look especially in the settings and a quick way to access them (maybe put small settings icon-half size, before the 5 contact pictures.
5.Translate it If you want Greek i can do it for you
Thanks and keep up the good work :good:

It happens with Galaxy note 1, I tried with one and the same thing happened. It is because some sort of bug in samsung Contacts app, that's why it is contacts that FC and not my app. I don't know how to fix or go around that bug. I am sorry.

Good Job!
Very nice app, may be this one could be replace my old QuickPic 4.5.2.... :good:
Some missings for me :
- In folder view, it would be great to have the delete option by long tap on a folder.
- Different sorts (by date, by name, by taken view).
- An option to see hidden pics/folder.
- An option to have cropped thumbnails (in square) or uncropped thumbnails.
One more thing, we have to close/open the app to refresh the folder view.

This is great feedback, thank you. I will add delete folder and hidden folder option to the next release and option for thumbnails. Sorting will be a bit more work but is nonetheless on my list of things to add to the app now.
I will investigate the album not being refreshed issue as well, the app should be picking up newly added photos but it does not automatically capture newly created empty folders (it will have to monitor a lot of folders otherwise). I think this is calling for a new feature to add the ability to create a new album/folder directly from within the app.
A mix of Gallery and Photo Editor is a great project
A few suggestions for now:
• more Material design for the photo editor
• draw: circles, squares,...
• the app force closes if we block the Notifications access, why?
Awesome photo editor,thanks.
Regarding gallery part, please add option - orientation by sensor...

I am looking for any kind of feedback but as some examples:
- What do you generally think about the app?
- Is this an app you would use on a daily basis?
- Would you recommend this app to your friends/family?
- What features would you like to see added to this app?
- What is your favourite / most used feature?
- What annoys you most about the app?
- Any suggestions for improvements / comments / criticisms.
- What are your thoughts on the Play Store listing?
- What do you think about the app icon?
- Does the design appeal to you?
- There is only one banner ad, and the odd interstitial, and a cheap upgrade price. How do you feel about this?
- What languages would you like to see the app localised into (currently support English, German, Spanish & Italian)?
Click to collapse
The app is pretty slick. I really like the design and the checkboxes for deleting groups of pics on the fly in time-line view.
I could use this app on a daily basis and recommend it if it could do the following:
- Move images between folders
- Set album view as the default view
- Exclude folders
- Allow access to image options via long press on photo
- Play videos
Additional, but not necessary:
- A dark AMOLED theme (I'm using a 6P)
The things missing are the things that annoy me most about this app and would be my favorite/most used features. Oh and the banner at the top is highly annoying. It blocks the icons at the top when scrolling.
The Play Store listing is fine and so is the app icon.
Hope this helps and congrats on a great start!

@g313
OP Edited to add Playstore Link. I don't think you can add, with current post count.
I was this close buying it - nice ui, easy to use, really nice editor. But unfortunately it's so slow. On my G5 it seems to build the data cache everytime i open it after it was exited. But the real dealbreaker is slow opening of pictures. The first takes it's time and then it runs smooth. This app really could replace quickpic but at this moment i'm keeping it to asus gallery. I would love to use your app but with the slow build of pictures ... And don't get me wrong - it's the first app which is close to perfection (for my needs). Really nice work.
If this problem is in any kind a question of settings - please give me a hint, i'll buy it in a second.
kind regards

Thank you for your detailed feedback, in response to the points:
- Move images between folders: coming in the next release
- Set album view as the default view: you can already achieve this from the settings, by choosing default content and setting it to albums, you cannot however reorder the tabs, is this something you would like?
- Exclude folders: Coming in a future release.
- Allow access to image options via long press on photo: Tapping on a large photo presents a toolbar from which you can edit, delete, share a photo, or from the menu you can use Set As... or edit externally, etc. Is this what you are referring to or is there some other option that is missing for you?
- Play videos: do you mean play videos directly? At the moment that app launches an intent to play the video using an external video player.
Additional, but not necessary:
- A dark AMOLED theme (I'm using a 6P): Sounds like a great idea, noted!
The banner ad is annoying, but kind of necessary to help support the development, I will be looking at optimising this though, perhaps I will get rid of completely and use an integrated/native ad, which is far less intrusive.
Btw - thanks for going as far as checking the icon and Play Store listing! :good:

Thanks for wanting to support the app and sorry to hear you're having issues with speed. I'm not sure why the image cache for the thumbnails would be clearing, or not caching - do you have much free space on your device?
The large images do take some time on the initial load, it seems more apparent on some devices, because the app is trying to load the image to the left/right of the image you have requested for the first time (Android ViewPager), I will need to optimise this to prioritise the loading.
Thanks you for your nice comment, please feel free to buy it when you feel its ready, but it would be great if you could keep it installed for now so you can receive the updates

I don't know if I'm understood... system orientation is of, but gallery should work by the orientation sensor (like quickpic). My device is nexus 5 with 6.01
This is my main app for gallery now.
I would like to see polish translation (I can help with this) and like somebody already mentioned integrated video player.
