Can anyone post a tutorial for making your own boot animation for the Nexus, or is it the same as the g1? I want to try and break down some animated gifs and make a boot animation from it.
same as g1 im sure. seen as i just flashd a boot animation made for nexus onto my g1. theres a tutorial at the link in my sig

can you look at this please and see why it wont work..
Process is totally different to the g1 as the boot animation resides in a different place and is actually a collection ofpng images.
I haven't been able to get it working either i have tried rezipping the files after editing. Tried dropping the images into a zip without unzipping. Alwaysr results in a black screen. Maybe one of the guys who have got it going can help?
its not different for a g1 using a 2.1 rom.
problem is you have a folder called bootanimation within the zip, it should just be bootanimation.zip with part0, part1 and desc.txt
and the images are compressed within the zip, the zip should be set to store only

Hey i also want to make my own bootanimation. For this i search this short flash animation which was used on the google developer conference. All the small green androids who change their design.
Perhaps someone can help me, and i hope everyone understands what i try to say.

In the background at the bottom of the white wall all these funny colored androids. There exists a flash animation with this androids.

are you able to download the flash .flv file? if so then its easy. you just need to convert it to avi then into a gif

if you want this bootanimation i can't upload it to xda because i havent posted 8 post yet... but i am posting the link on here. the boot animation is very big so after setting it as your boot animation your splash screen will probably stay up there longer because its over 60mbs.

Download your favorite bootanimation and place it in System/media after properly renaming it i.e 'bootanimation.zip'

bootanimation can contain .png or .jpeg..no restrictions on size

You can also try AndroidBoot Animation Changer. Just drop the bootanimation.zip into the zip and flash it in recovery.

Ok thanks but I'm using Cyanogen MOD 10.2 and there is no option for it. PAC Rom has the option if I remember correctly.
Anyway thanks for the replay. Do you have any glitch in Boot animation cause every time I booted up my device the boot animation isn't show perfectly for the first couple of seconds.
I saw a boot animation over in the m7 thread and decided to make one for the m9. It was requested that I make one for the M8. Please note that it will always say SD card is not inserted because the particular person I made this for doesn't use one. If there is a calling for me to change it, it is something I'd consider. Use it as you please. Flash from recovery. I'm not responsible, for anything. Ever.
