I had them in my last rom, and i updated to the latest version and there is no option to chang songs or no now playing music on the pull down menu. any way i can get this back?

Firstly, this plus one.
I'm assuiming you mean on the latest gbread leak ee03?
Now, I don't think its a missing feature, but rather something about the status bar is broken. If you notice while you are in the music player app, the icon for the music player controls pops up in the status bar, but pull the bar down and its gone. And as soon as you leave the music app the icon disappears as I'm sure you're aware.
I believe its the status bar and not the app that's the problem since the same symptoms occur with the fm radio (haven't tried pandora yet)...even tho fm radio is borked lol

Here are my issues with this thread:
You already created a thread asking this exact same question last week.
You joined XDA 10 days ago, have 31 posts (as of right now), and have created 13 new threads. Its been a while since I was in algebra class, but the ration of posts:threads is definitely out of whack.
Going forward, please take a moment to review all available information before asking a question or opening a new thread. In addition to the forum search, you were prompted to review similar topics during the creation of each of the 13 threads you have amassed up to this point.
We are XDA Developers, not XDA Spoonfeeders. In the end, a little time spent looking will go a long way.

I agree with what everyone said here. Its not hard at all to look around. And the Charge forum doesn't even have many posts compared to SGS2 or the Thunderbolt. Not that hard at all.

Also, Dude if you don't like developers, keep your stock phone and don't come here to talk smack. These people put hours of work in to make EVERONE'S phone better. Buddy, There is "ONE" page for Charge Development, yes thats right ONE page with 14 threads... including this one, and your being a **** becuase you didnt take literally 15 seconds to glance at the thread titles?

you could have
1) looked for the words *root* and *rom* for 2 seconds and had ur questions answered
2) realized your mistake and taken your lumps

I am trying to find the gingerbread rom for my husbands Galaxy S. Kind of new at this and will need directions if anyone can lead me in the right direction i'd be very greatful. Thanks in advance.
On a side note, 2.3 is Gingerbread. If you browse the Galaxy S forums, you would be able to find what you need. I went ahead and found the stock one for you.
Just a word of advise, if you are new to installing roms, I would recommend finding someone that knows what they are doing, or you could risk bricking his phone.

Im just not sure how to go about it i do understand that bricking is possible but i dont' have anyone to do it but me so i kind of stuck

Currently the only way to watch netflix on the gs4g is with Gingerbread 2.3.3.
There is a odin flashable rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146145
Before flashing I would read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1001759
It is not that difficult just make sure to read through the forum and use the search button.
Remember however at this time gingerbread is a leaked build, so it may have some bugs. Future releases will likely fix this but may take some time.

Thank you so much for all the info i did flash our HD2's to android but mine is having some issues now and i went to the GS but the screen was to small for me being as i'm almost blind in a sense but i will try this and see if this is what he wants or wants to go back to HD2. Again thanks so much.

I'm from the Vibrant section, and I have some questions for you Galaxy S 4G users, please do know I searched around, but I thought it'd be best to have all the information anyone had on this particular topic all in one thread, so if anyone feels this is useless, feel free to delete it, I'm just trying to gain some knowledge. My girlfriend has a GS4G, and although the devs have done a great job modding Samsung's ROMs.. they don't compare to AOSP ROMs in my opinion.
Now, for the questions.
1. Why is it we can't get a working kernel to boot for the GS4G? (Someone please do explain in detail.)
2. How far has someone gone/gotten? (I know krylon handed the work to someone, but I don't think they've reported back?)
And please, no stupid answers. This is pure discussion. If a kernel dev is what we need, I could try to find one that's willing to work with me, but we'd need testers and such.
From what I heard and read around, you guys don't have any devs thats capable of doing that.

We are already working on this now. Read through my kernel thread. I have specific milestones to getting cm7 on our phone. I will not skip steps to get to cm7 sooner, compromising stability and functionality. If you want to help, please pm me.

Alright, flame me.. because I'm definitely doing something wrong. I'm in no way demanding an ETA or even demanding anyone to start working on this, I simply wanted to group the information anyone knows so we could help each other.. you know.. kind of what a community does?
Guys, being cynical and trolling won't get us anywhere, and tell you the truth, it's childish and starting to bore.
The guy said he wanted a technical status summary and specifically said he wants to help.
In this case, i think we do need to maintain a thread of work chords and specify the barriers.
I thank every new dev with a will to help.
I think he deserves a different attitude than a noob, especially if we don't want to scare all devs from here.
That's my opinion anyway.

It's ok. I've responded to a few of these threads. It's surprising how many people don't click 'search' and search for 'cm7' or 'cyanogenmod'. I also don't expect people to read both rootz and xda. So if you read my op on the kernel thread, I have a "Plans" section (on both forums!).

Lets keep this thread going I am also wondering how come there is so little development here but what developers we have are dedicated!
We have great developers that work hard on cm. The sgs 4g is the problem of not having it, freaking sammy with their experiments. i really enjoy their masterpieces(devs). Op you just have to have some patience, cm will come to us i believe in our devs.

Then why didn't you group all the information that is already available in the 50 other threads about CM7 into this one?
if you really wanted to do that, you could have made your OP a summary with bullet points of the details of everything that was already discussed, and then updated it with new information that comes along.

Before flaming and insulting did you notice the date on the first post?
Personally I think the person that cast the raise dead spell should be getting beat with the flame bat.
I swear sometimes people are too eager to flame somebody. Its like they had a bad day come to xda to post behind a anonymous screen name and then walk away feeling better. But that is just me, Im sure my observation is wrong.

First of all, this has never been my primary device. I have never owned this device. I used to own the Samsung Vibrant, now I own a Nexus S. My girlfriend owned a Galaxy S 4G, and was using her phone to try to bring something new to you guys. (First ICS theme for this device ring a bell?) It's not my job to group 50 other threads about CM7 into this one. That's not what a community is. I am in no way a recognized developer, I know my stuff, but I have a long way to go. But it's people like you that make devs want to leave and stop posting their stuff. You swear people have time to do everything. And indeed that was my intention, but I wasn't going to pull useless information from other threads that members have posted, that are often inaccurate. This thread was mostly meant for devs, that could actually help out, and working together.
In other news, I finally have some time to mess around with stuff, might look into more themes or something, but I lack a device to work on, so I guess if some people would like to help (testing, etc.) I'd be glad to push things out from time to time.

He got tired of the BS that goes on around here. He said that he was tired of answering question that could be answering by people just doing a little research, and was also tired of people not following the "rules." I completely understand his frustration. He wrote a huge post about it which I think can be found in the gerneral section titled "thinking of leaving XDA" or something like that. He even said he was thinking of disappearing and keeping his work to himself. I do not know if he has stopped deving or just went somewhere else. But god I hope he hasn't stopped deving for us.
Damn noobs making all the mistakes, yet we get the consequences aswell.

A few senior moderators have pm'd me, and I reexplained my opinion on xda, which they seem to agree with.

I think this site needs to go back to being a place for "DEVELOPERS", like it once was.
The "Thinking of leaving..." post was deleted (afaik) because the users started to act unrully in it. Go figure. Good job guys.
But what I stated in that thread, and I will restate here. I'm not done developing, but I don't have a lot of time to work on this stuff. I'm close to getting cm7 to boot, but I will guess that after it works, and there will be lots of fixes before it is stable for users to use. So even if I get cm7 booting I won't release it right away. I do not want to push out a rom that doesn't work right. (well, good enough for me).
do what you gotta man. you have my full support. just wish people were as patient as i am. keep up the awesome work. also, if you need any help with anything, just let me know. i'm willing to test things out and also willing to help out with any graphical ideas. you know how to reach me.

You should lay some rootz down somewhere else. That would be better for those of us who know how to read and actually appreciate what you all do for us and are not impatient and rude.

Nice to see you back even for a short time. Thanks for all that you've done and are continuing to do. I can understand the frustration with this site especially if your actual trying to Dev. Best of luck and thanks for this kernel.

I actually had some free time and i decided to read alot of the threads last night and i can see why you all get so frustrated with people asking "when will you be done??" "how does this work??" I had to read for about three days on just how to even root.. let alone flash my first rom.. but we all wont learn everything if we dont take the time to read it fully ( I love the whole trial and error of it.) Im by all means am not tech savvy but this site has all the answers to ALL the questions to ALL the beautiful roms on this site.. kernel's, roms, baseband, builds, and even mods.. all work in conjunction with eachother.. for me its like putting my own perfect puzzle together to my liking.. Brian has helped me out alot.. Ive only been a member on this site for a short period of time and it pains me that you all feel this way.. Im not a dev.. Im a nurse.. I do know from my career it can be frustrating from people asking the same questions over and over and over.. Ive asked alot of questions and you all have been so helpful to me.. Im just sorry you all feel this way.. I remember signing up a few months ago i watched the video and i got it.. there are alot of different personalities on this site some good some bad.. its just sad that a few "idiots" have got to screw it up for the rest of us that are willing to learn... Ive learned alot in my two months of being here and i just wanted to take the time and say thanks to all of you.. I love this site im on it all the time.. for me personally its a great site my Favorite period.. its just sad that all this ignorance would cause a great person to leave.. thanks Brian for all you have helped me with.. blessings to you and your family man..
