i have experience when the media (internet) is down on my samsung captivate at&t i restart the phone the internet comes back on... why is this happening ?

It is hard to say without more details. You may want to try to toggle airplane mode instead of reboot.

your problem sounds like an apn issue or provisioning problem.
are you using a stock phone? what apn is selected?

I have that problem on Sky Ice Cream Sandwich 4.5. To fix it I quick toggle airplane mode.
Same problem here..I am not stock rooted. seems like an Lte issue.

I have a similar problem. I loose data out of blue. Called Att and they informed me that my data was removed for some reason. They reconnected but ever since than, I loose data for no reason. I have to reboot the phone. Even than, my data works for only 10-30 mind and disappears. When that happens, I have to call ATT and the disconnect my phone and reconnect and it works fine for a while. I've called them 4-5 time in last few weeks. They think its the phone. They are going to send me a replacement.

[Q] Can a lost phone be tracked with Airplane Mode and Wi-Fi on?

I had a Sprint Epic 4G that I tried to root, but resulted in the phone being stuck with Airplane Mode on. So I only used it for Wi-Fi and whatnot after that but left it activated on my Sprint account. I recently lost that phone, I was wondering if Airplane Mode is on and Wi-Fi is on and connected, can my phone be tracked through something like Sprint Family Locator?
Why do you want it back? It only goes into airplane mode. Lol

Do you have Find My Droid enabled on it?
If you have Find My Droid on the phone, you can try to send a sms to the phone telling it to turn on GPS and perhaps it will ping. It's worth a shot.
NO no chance

Girlfriends Exhibit suddenly lost data signal?

My girlfriend is out of town right now visiting a school and called me tonight saying her data has suddenly stopped working. She does not have the data icon in her notification bar at all.
I asked her to verify that it was not in airplane mode, and it was not. I am not familiar with her phone and am not sure what else to try.
Her phone is entirely stock and on T-Mobile. Until today she had full 4g capability, now seems to have no data what so ever.
Any suggestions on what I could have her try?
Did she contact T-Mobile and verify there is service in the area she's visiting, unfortunately T-Mobile doesn't provide service everywhere

Yes she has been there 4 days and had it up until this afternoon. Knowing her, I've got a feeling she somehow disabled it. I just didn't know if perhaps anyone would know of some way she may have done so other than turning on airplane mode.
For example, my fascinate has a mobile data toggle on the notification bar, hers does not, but I didn't know if there was one elsewhere maybe.
There should be an option to enable/disable data in settings under wireless networks.
On this phone it's settings, wireless and network, mobile networks, enable data packet. It might not say exactly the same thing on the exhibit, but it should be close to that.

[Q] Best app for network

Whats the best app for resetting my network connection? Sometimes I have my 3G (white) which for whatever reason doesn't allow me to connect to the play store, google, internet, etc and the only way to fix it (turn it blue) is rebooting my phone. I've tried the fresh network app, it doesn't work. I am using Juice Defender Ultimate so maybe I have a setting screwed up but I read and reread the manual it seems like I have it configured the way I want.
Running GummyNex 1.2 on Droid Bionic
Kernal version 2.6.35.7-g4fc328e
Can't you just turn on airplane mode for a few seconds and then turn it off?

Afaik if ur 3g symbol is white, it means ur not fully connected to
the network. I have that somtimes too, but it only takes 1-5s, depending on signal strengh.
