I am trying to find out a replacement for my phone because my loudspeaker broke but i am having a problem locating one.
Now the dilemma is this : Should i try to find one , or ship my phone back to the US and wait for the repair from samsung itself ?
Edit : I found this : http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Samsung-Googel-Nexus-S-Ear-Speaker-Flex-Ribbon-p/smsng6098600.htm
But its only the ribbon, and i dont know if its my ribbon or the loudspeaker itself.
If anyone can locate it can you please let me know ?

Hm i guess i will send it back to samsung.

Bump, anyone has found this ? I am looking all over for it.

I'm having the same problem.
The only part I've found is this:
http://www.gultek.eu/mobile-phone-spare-parts/loudspeaker-buzzer/samsung/i9020.html

I'm going to China on the 28th, I'llsee if its available, pm me.

I managed to replace it
Hey,
I just successfully replaced my loud speaker yesterday.
While the Nexus S has an integrated Loudspeaker, earpiece and sensor module called "EM-Tech EME1511AFRC" (as you said), I could only find the individual parts to buy (i.e. the loudspeaker as an item and the rest of the components as the item).
To fix my phone I performed the following steps
Buy the loudspeaker replacement part, I bought it off "leading-wireless" on eBay, item 130559156633 (can't paste links)
Take my phone apart (ifixit.com, uri Teardown/Nexus-S-Teardown/4365/1), following steps 1-7 and stopping at 9.
Seperate the ribbon from the speaker (It's just a weak glue)
Unsolder the speaker's connection to the board and solder the replacement speaker back
Mind that while I choose to keep my ribbon piece you could also buy a new one if you're afraid to damage it.
I found it on eBay by a seller name 123phone and it's also on 'globaldirectparts' though I'm not sure as to how to buy from them
Hope this helps someone
P.S.
Sorry I can't post any links...

on cnn.cn is only the loudspeaker-module: http://cnn.cn/shop/samsung-i9023-nexus-loudspeaker-module-p-14420.html
and not the entire unit... ;(

try contacting them, they should be able to get hold of them.
if i could get hold of them, it shouldn't be a problem for them.

Interference

What is this annoying sound??
Whenever I talk with someone there is background noise that is similar to the GSM buzz heard when you have your cell phone too close to a TV or something.
Its very annoying. This also happens when I use EDGE (and possibly 3G). Is it just me, or is there a fix?
(By the way, I searched and all I found were people having a clicking sound before the speaker turns on)
Thanks in advance
come on someone has to have a fix.
is it only me?
it seems like its coming from the speaker in the back
I dont even use my phone without one

Please help - htc magician - NO SERVICE :-(

I've put cotulla's latest rom upon my htc magician (3.03) [ @cotulla:
Thanks a lot for your ROM ]
My magician previously worked well with (3.01) but after replacing the mic upon this handset I now cannot get any network reception in the uk at all [I've tried all uk sim cards]
I've made sure that the aerial is contacting the pcb where it should and I've updated my rom to version 3 of 'cotulla's' rom.
I'm not sure whethere my problem is a hardware or software fault ?
Please help ?
Have you ever tried Hard Reset?
Yeah - hard reset and soft reset this phone and still 'No Service'
Please help ?
seems damaged hardware.
Thanks for that - a message from the main man himself
I'll take this as a definitive answer to my uncertainty about a software fault - thanks a lot
Would anyone have any idea where I most likely went wrong in a disassembly > replacement of the microphone and then reassembly ?
Are there any common errors that people make whilst doing this? Are there any bits of hardware that are prone to damage - anything surrounding the mic that could be damaged by hot air soldering (I shielded all surrounding parts with heat-proof 'Kapton' tape and it seemed to protect them - but who knows
Are there any hardware gurus who may have an opinion ??
Thanks a lot

Try fix this position or antenna inside the device.

And try change a Battery, many Chinese people have the same problem, but after Battery changed,it got solution. That was a strange issue for this device.
BTW:I'm not a phone repairer.
Thanks a lot !!!!!
I have already bent the sim card contacts out a little to try to ensure that they make good contact with the sim card - thanks for the tip anyway
I'll buy a new battery and try that out. My current battery is very bad indeed, it looses what little charge it does have very, very quickly indeed
I'll keep you all up to date with my progress
If anyone has any other suggestions about possible or common hardware issues with this phone then please let me know ?
Thanks again

acer s200 touch syntetizer (the clear plastic over the lcd)

Hi i have to change the touch panel due to a big scratch, anyone here know if i have to disassembly all the phone?Or else someone with a service manual?
My phone was out in the rain for a bit so my digitizer is all messed up. Only thing I can do is touch the bottons on bottom. Not much function in the touchscreen besides that. Have ordered a new digitizer and will hopefully get it by the weekend or next week. Can report back how it goes with the disassembly or have you already done yours? Please give a report on how to do it if that's the case.
I m still waiting for mine from hong kong.look s like someone else had changed the syntetizer in the forum, but i had no reply to my question
Ok. I guess we'll have to wait and see who gets his first. Whoever does though it would be nice with a report on how it went.
Hi i ve received the touch panel, but i tried to disassembly the phone, but i can not get the cover to open.I unscrewed the 5 screws on the rear but the cover is as strong as before.Have you ever tried to disassembly our phone?
And the touchscreen i received it s not the new one but the old engineering example,i think it s the same but i want to try the respone so i can give the seller the positive or negative feedback. The panel differ from the classic one for the acer logo on top right, not at the bottom center,and...there is the trasparent hole near the headphone for the front camera as you can see from this old sample picture

And this is mine
I read in the screen replacement forum. There are two more screws at the left and right sides of battery house.
Hope that helps. The guy in hongkong that sent me the digitizer sent it by registered air mail first but sent another one by EMS so hopefully i'll have it this week.
Ok i ve found the way by myself,it s not so difficult,i ve seen the two screws after...You have only to pay attenction to not force too much the plastics when you try to open the cover and when you try to detach the touch panel. The best way is to use a guitar plectrum and start to open from the bottom right, for the touch you have to go carefully. Now i ask in the forum if they need a guide with high res photos, because i ve taked pictures with my nokia n95
Well I would be really interested in seeing the pictures. Please do share. How's the new touchscreen working out ?
You can see my guide in the general section, maybe will be sticked. The panel is working good, but it seems a little less sensitive than the official oem one.Maybe the engineering sample is a little different. In plus the light from the touch keys is not diffused good, and i have an hole for the front camera, wich is not present in retail s200.But if you go to the guide you can see pictures
I have now changed my digitizer and thanks to your guide it went pretty smooth. Was done in about 10-15 mins. I got the oem one but the buttons on the bottom is diffuse as you said yours was. maybe i can move the white from the old one to make it nices. Probably won't bother though. Don't really find a difference in response from before the change.

Power Switch Repair [If Things went very wrong][solder-pads-wrecked] [Hardware-Hack]

Hi I just wanted to completely brag
Ok I bought a N5 on Ebay with a "broken" PS-(Power-Switch).
I have seen a few way to repair it and thought this could be really doable...
It wasn't what I would name a "good hit" ^^
The phone had already been opened and a very unsuccessful repair had been conducted.

Ok as you see, damn ^^
SO the solder pads were toasted (only epoxy)
Impossible to get it to work.
I googled (a lot) and found this thread from Rizwan Sayyed
http://www.mobilerdx.com/2015/03/repair-lg-nexus-5-d820-power-button-ways.html
Well, I did it The wire used is 0,35mm winding wire (they are isolated)
I actually have brought a litlle mods on it.
Here a pic:
why is it awesome? ^^ Well, because there is actually only one MB hack, which reduce of 50% the possibility of failure
The left port of the switch has to be connected to the little resistor as explained by Rizwan Sayyed
As soon as the frame of teh switch was still linked to the ground. I just had to solder the right port to the frame of the switch.
IT IZ DONE
That's actually quite simple even if VERY VERY tiny. It took me age to get it correctly welded and I must admit that I thought a bunch of times that it was "dead"
I secured the wire with hot glue (be careful it's tricky)
NOW there is a little draw back to this mod. The aluminum main back cover has a support directly on the ground trace. As soon as you have your hack-wire on the trace. You will have to substantially remove material on the rear cover.
Like this:
THAT'S ALL FOLKS!
Hope it helps some desperate guy somewhere
## Please note that this hack is actually pretty advanced and require MAD SOLDERING SKILLZ. Do it ONLY if you know what you are doing and are LIKE ME very very very good at it ^^## <-- Yes me pretty (and) proud
The Grüß,
H.
PS: Image are huge. "open in a new tab"
Please advice
Hello doodjob, thank you for posting this amazing info. One of the contact points (the one shown here i.e. the one you have connected with wire) is broken on my PCB, while the other is intact. Can you please suggest what I can do? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

How to setup a new motherboard just put in?

Been trying to get my Note 20 Ultra working again after a screen replacement and the phone went BSOD. Screen was tested and confirmed working. So I put in a new motherboard. Screen still doesn't work. With no touch capability how am I suppose to set it up? *I did try ODIN, but failure since I can't put it in the correct mode.* **I took this picture off my TV screen since it does put video out with a USB C to HDMI cable**

I'm sorry I can't be of any help with your touch screen not working, but I wonder if you or someone might be able to help me? Your post is the only place I've seen the screen I'm getting after replacing the motherboard in my Note 20 Ultra, and I can navigate using the touch screen, but I don't know what steps to take to get the regular OS to install and function from this screen.

What caused the display to fail?

I have heard that it will pull the necessary data down if your sim is in. But I can't verify that until I get a working screen in it. I'll keep digging...

I'm hoping that my replacement screen is just bad and they'll swap it. Apparently BSOD is becoming a common thing with this phone. Even my parts supplier is asking me. I want to test my old board, but I lack knowledge to do so (and probably equipment as well.) From what I can say is that it affects all things screen related. So no picture, no touch and no S-Pen. So it could be a chip problem.
Replacement parts must be the exact same part number. Some of the model variants parts are not interchangeable!
Out of circuit assemblies are also susceptible to ESD damage. ESD protocols should be followed when handling these assemblies. At the very least wear all cotton and raise room humidity to 50%.
