Here is CWM JH7 _OTA

Unfortunately I think you may end up having to use Odin to flash back to Eclair 2.1.1 and then use the Samsung Kies application to upgrade to stock FroYo 2.2...
I'm not sure the official FroYo 2.2 UCKB1 ROM has been packaged as an update zip as of yet.

Sorry no, it blows anyway.
Yeah i know it blows but i can fix all that. I just have to get all stock first.
That is unless i get really lucky and source drops.

there is the original stock rom (no changes)
and a CWM version (some minor customizations)
If by not having a windows PC you mean you have linux then Heimdall will be right up your ally for flashing to the stock experience. If you are on a Mac you may have some problems. (it has some issues with the eclair SBL)

If you are running 1.6 you can go HERE and flash 1.6 ROMS. Do NOT attempt to downgrade from 2.1 -->1.6 as this will brick your phone.
if only it was that easy. The usb port doesnt work and i removed an application with titanium backup now i keep getting acore error and i want to reinstall the app back.

Oh, I must have missed that. I have read many posts where people brick their phones downgrading. It also says so on Bin4ry's thread "Here is new X10flash for Firmware 2.1 Version (old 1.6 Firmware can not be flashed with this at the moment)"
Anyway, glad to know that it works. I learn something new everyday. Will keep it in mind. Thanks

That just means you cant use 1.6 FW with that flashtool, not that 1.6 FW can't be flashed back to from 2.1.

Well, I actually used that exact flash tool to go from AT&T's 1.6 to X10a 2.1 world generic. That is why I thought that you can not go from 2.1 --> 1.6 with that flash tool.

You should be able to, but if you were going to try you want to make due you use the version released on 12/23 #7 as it had been the most stable. I would suggest using sgs kernel flashing app from market.
Kernels control the resources of the phone, so a good one goes a long way to getting your phone running well

From the looks of the URL this seems to be a staging site and not the "live" or "final" version as yet.

The file version is different for this download and the date. Does not mean it is different, has anyone tried it on their phone yet?
First "unofficial" v1.0.1.5
This one v1.0.1.7
do you think they've fixed the light bleed with the phones already coming with ginger bread?

what is stock recovery and how do you flash it? This is the one thing about android that eludes me...so there's a copy of the rom somewhere that's built in, in case the phone has a failure of some type?

Go there, select Mobile Phones Category, and search model number P999.

At least some major improvements for CM7.
Doesn't have to pretend to be GB in build.prop.
Niceee. When you say working camera is that to say the camera in the dev section isnt 'working'? I've tried it out and it works great!
Probably add the add the ability to have different governors on custom kernals now

Is there an updated "how to install CM7"? I've searched around and keep finding bits and pieces of what I want, but not the whole picture.
I'm on a stock rooted g2x but want to make sure I do this right. I've flashed CWM recovery with NVFlash. Do I need to update with LG tool to get the latest baseband, or do I just flash CM7?

I thought this was caused by Tegra 2 not being compatible with certain governors... That's what I heard anyway. Hope it's not true. I miss the freq governors.

If you want the latest baseband, you have to go through LG's flasher or the OTA update. However, this is not required for CM7. CM7 is happy with either baseband version.

A2DP!
I, for one, can't wait for A2DP on CM7. That would make this device PERFECT for me.

I haven't noticed any improvement from old baseband to new, so just flash CM7 and don't worry about the LG updater tool.
1. Nandroid backup using cwm
2. wipe using cwm
3. flash cm7 (just get the latest nightly: http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=p999)
When you flash subsequent nightlies/RCs of CM7, you can flash right over the previous CM7 flash, just be sure to wipe cache/dalvik cache and do a repair permissions before booting into new CM7 flash. At least that's my little ritual, not sure how much it helps.

No we still need source from nvidia for a2dp, this does nothing for us in terms of that, just custom kernels, roms etc
I just updated my phone to Gingerbread and now it seems to have some problems.
1st - It will not install any apps. It does a quick restart everytime it starts installing an app
2nd - There is no longer any snooze button when i set an alarm.
Anyone have any idea what I might have done?
Here are the phones specs
Firmware version 2.3.5
Baseband version t959vukd1
Kernel Version 2.6.35.7-t959vuvkg4-cl385158
Build number Ginberbread.vuvkg4
Get yourself a KJ6 based ROM. Right now you have a KG4 rom which was a leaked version of Gingerbread. KJ6 is based off of 2.3.6, which is newer and has been officially released by Samsung.

Flashing that way requires you to have Clock Work Recovery Mod (CWM) installed. If you have it, that's how you would flash it. If not, then go back into the dev section and look for RaverX3X's ODIN version of KJ6 stock.
Thank you i will see if i can find it.

The download should only have the 1 file; it goes into the PDA section. Let ODIN decide what's checked & not checked.
