rooting definitions..please help!! - HTC Inspire 4G

Okay, lets see if I've found the right place ...
I have the HTC Inspire and have tried the only two rooting definitions I could find ... one from attn1 and one from (Don't remember his name) the easy-1-click.
First I Followed U-tube vid and the written instuctions ... step by step. Had several problems, i.e.; errors finding \dir\files, process that wouldn't start, Goldcard went great, "adb out of date. Killing ..." statements, (# passes - $ fails) ... I got #, ended up with a brand-new HTC Inspire 4G that, became a Desire HD w/o sound - it did not root, or S-off, and it did not back-up (no recovery) ... and I had troubles finding a Stock ROM to try to set this thing back. I've spent hours trying to root this dang-thing - no luck.
An example of the error:
C:\ace>hackerize-ace setup-downgrade
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
1656 KB/s (557962 bytes in 0.329s)
1546 KB/s (15837 bytes in 0.010s)
Starting adb shell to test temp root...
if you see a '#' prompt, okay to proceed
if you see a '$' prompt, temproot failed
type exit at the prompt to continue
error: device not found
error: device not found
#_
To fix sound -
C:\Android\root>hackerize-ace setup-radio
adb server is out of date. Killing …
* deamon started successfully *
error: device not found
C:\Android\root>
I figured the problem was with the "ADB', so I made sure it was updated ... I was able to return the phone to stock ... but can't s-off or root. Any ideas???
Thx !!!!

Aria Problem (Rooting)

I have an Aria and I rooted (idk exactly how i did it).
I have htc sync and adb install on my win7 machine.
I used superoneclick the first time I rooted my phone.
I got my wife the same phone. I went to root it, superoneclick worked (so I thought).
I went into reboot into recovery and I end up with the UPSIDE RED TRIANGLE WITH THE EXCLAMATION MARK!!!!!!!!!!!
I wipe my machine free of HTC and rooting product. Reinstalled adb and then used revoked and am still SOL.
I have superuser installed and have rom mananger installed, but I cannot get into recovery. ROM Manager even installed the latest clockwork mod.
But I'm getting the UPSIDE RED TRIANGLE WITH THE EXCLAMATION MARK!!!
HELP!!!!! PLEASE!!!
I tried to unroot with superoneclick and this is what I get:

I tried it again superoneclick froze on me.
check out the Aria Superthread Guide
I'll give it a whirl....
OK the .exe stops downloading from megaupload at 33.4mb. I even bought the premium.
Any other ideas?
SOLUTION!!!
So I found the ROM on the HTC site:
http://www.htc.com/us/support/aria-att/downloads/
I flashed it.
Then I got this error:
Code:
Internal error: am reported error starting service
I googled it and I found this forum:
http://androidforums.com/aria-all-things-root/248603-unrevoked-error-am-reported-error-starting-service.html
Great success!!
I reverted unrevoked to 2.1 and it worked!!!
glad you worked it out

[Q] Restore Root - Stuck

Hopefully someone can help me out on this one because I'm not quite sure what to do at this point. I have a G2x that was having multiple issues so I decided to root and install clockworkmod recovery so that I could flash CM7RC1. I flash CM7RC1 successfully but failed to realize that I did not properly install CWM as I accessed it via ROM manager (lack of proper reading on my part). Since going to CM7RC1 I've lost root and am unable to use Super One Click 1.9.1.0 to get it back. I seem to have lost all Linux commands (ls won't even work through the terminal emulator) so when Super One Click runs it says FAIL as it cannot chmod or mount. If you have any idea on how I can restore root or CWM let me know. Thanks!

HA! Well be that as it may, is there anything I can do...or am I stuck?
Fixed the issue by NVFlashing Clockworkmod recovery with TGA_Gunnman's excellent one-click utility. After that it was easy to restore the backup I had made.

[Resolved] rooting problem - desire

hi.
I've tried search and not managed to resolve this, though I'm sure I'm missing something simple.
Just been given a htc desire, to replace my spica, and want to remove simlock and root (for apps2sd, adblock etc)
i removed simlock using the bootable iso downloaded from here
trying to follow the rooting guide for the One click Radio S-OFF, SimUnlock tool, and I'm hitting "unknown error, probably connection
using search I found a suggestion to use adb shell, followed by su, which gives permission denied.
I then downloaded terminal emulator and typed su, permission denied.
So I guess I don't have root, even though I installed visionary+ and clicked temproot now followed by attempt permroot now, and the reboot.
What should I do to complete rooting the phone?
Thanks

I don´t know if this will help you but I just used this guide to root my desire, it was my first time and all went fine.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084
ha ha, I was a bit too late. Glad to hear you got it sorted.
If your interested in a good rom, I recommend RCMixS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988570
and this script to speed up the phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111145
works great
thanks for the rom suggestion, having had no end of problems (mainly lockups) after flashing my spica I'm gonna steer clear for a little while...
..though I am very, very tempted
If I had the time I would be flashing all day!

Someone please tell me soon what to do next cause I'm just stuck here scared to go ahead and use my phone. I've still put it on flight mode for past almost 2 hours

Help! LG Spectrum won't remove SuperUser *Not Rooted*

HELP, NEED TO REMOVE SUPERUSER FROM LG SPECTRUM 2, V9S30
I didn't know much about the Rooting Process when this issue occurred, what the issue is that I'm unable to remove superuser from my phone even though it's not rooted. The cause of this is me doing a factory reset.
I've tried using a Program called MotoChopper to re-root my Phone then I was going to use a File Explorer and delete the SuperUser application.
I'm in Major trouble, I have to return my Phone for Charger issues.
So I need my Phone to be Un-Rooted.
Since I'm a new User, I'm unable to post a picture link. Maybe If you send me an Email at [email protected] I can send you the picture, but for now i'll describe what It says on the Command Prompt -

I had the same issue, I could re-root my phone after the OTA update to 4.1. I used the information in this link to figure out how to adb shell into the phone and manually remove the old Superuser.apk, then I could use motochopper to re-root the phone. But if all you need to do is get rid of the ols Superuser.apk, then use this info on how to get to it and remove it.
