Ive done everything I can think of to get the Dx multi touch keyboard on my Inspire, but ever one I try force closes.
does anyone have a version that they got working on theirs? If so, did you need to do anything special other than installing, set the keyboard in the settings, and changing the input method?

I've been using the TouchPal keyboard for ages and today I thought I'd download and try some others. I've always found the Touchpal keyboard to be excellent though.
Anyway, I downloaded and installed a couple of alternatives. I selected one in settings and attempted to try it but the phone automatically used the default Touch Input keyboard.
I tried the Handcent keyboard, nothing doing - it still used the default Touch Input keyboard.
I tried to go back to Touchpal and still nothing doing; I'm stuck on the default keyboard. I've tried rebooting the phone to no effect.
Does anyone have any suggestions to resolve this?
OK, it seems to be working again now.
Okay, so shortly after flashing CM7, every five minutes or so a key on my (Gingerbread) keyboard stops working. After trying some things (like pushing a little harder, clicking other things) it works again. But then it happens to another key! I think I read one thread somewhere on the internet with some people saying using a different fixes the problem.. But I don't think it does :/ And I can't find any other threads about this problem. I can't even find that one again! Has anyone else been experiencing issues like this? Is this a problem with the ROM maybe? Things worked fine on all of my other ROMs, and the stock ROM. I'm really worried, and I hope this isn't a permanent issue. Sending my device back to get replaced would be really screwy for my schedules. I'm using an Inspire 4G btw, if that matters to any of you.
Anyone? Any tips? I can't tell if it really is a hardware issue or software

I have this issue with my stock inspire along with several others. Every now and then a key gets stuck and will not respond. I have to re-boot my phone. Right now I am using swype and so for it has not locked up any keys as of yet for about a week. It was happening to me approx once every 7 to 10 days. No fix that I know of. Hope they correct this issue with 2.3
I second the Swype keyboard - can't live without it!
:side note:
I'm using the latest version (I think) and the only issue that I've had is when I reboot the phone, sometimes the keyboard will work but the swiping feature will not (blue border flashes around the keyboard instead of posting the word I spelled). The fix is easy - go to Language and Keyboard, uncheck the box for Swype, run the Swype installer, click Enable swype, select it as the keyboard when the installer pops up the box for Input Type, and you're good to go (if it ever happens).
Help! Last night somehow the 'qwerty' swype keyboard changed and the Q and W keys swapped themselves with A and Z keys. Some symbol locations have also changed around a bit.
I have no idea how this happened, my phone is not rooted and i have no apps that would do something like this..
What should I do? really don't want to have to reset the phone if i can avoid it, but I cant use it in its current configuration!
I havn't heard of anyone else having the problem before, and I have done research into changing keyboards/installing new ones but this doesn't appear to be the answer either.
I have tried restarting the phone, looked into the keyboard settings, changing it to and from the swype keyboard, but so far nothing will get it back to normal
Are you sure the language didnt change or something like that?
Hmmm which OS version?

Try clearing the keyboard data.
BTW: you can always register for swype beta and download the latest version.
Oh snap... don't I feel like an idiot.. language had somehow changed itself to french.. the one place I didn't look.. thanks guys!!!
Anyone have a fix? I"m totally lost. I've tried looking for the keyboard to see if I can freeze it or force stop it but I can't find it.
I'm totally frustrated. I have the market keyboard checked in the settings to allow them to work. The keyboards were working for a bit, but now they are stuck and I"m stuck with some ridiculous stock keyboard that stinks!
When I first got this tablet I could pinch-to-zoom and select split keyboard or floating keyboard. Now it's not working. The multi-touch gesture seems to do nothing. The installed version of the keyboard is Samsung Keyboard 1.0. It says in the options that pinch-to-zoom on the keyboard zone would bring up the style selection menu (as it should). It just refuses to recognize my gesture. This is on a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.
Anyone else experience this? Any ideas if removing an app or something may have done this? Can't figure it out for the life of me.
Did you try to clear the keyboards data ?

I tried all the suggestions you guys mentioned and still nothing. I have a feeling the keyboard apk is unable to save data because I am still having this same problem from my previous thread. My internal sdcard refuses to let me delete corrupted files from it again and I think maybe the keyboards settings are saved there. I also cannot save a screenshot or user defined words with my keyboard.

Android 4.0.3 Samsung Keyboard 1.0 pinch to zoom on keyboard not working to choose keyboard style. Tried to clean cahce and so on.. and nothing. Any ideas?
Thank you.
Any one having same problem? Or had in the past?
Wassup With That!?
Go this Nifty Tablet on Sunday and after playing around with Google Maps this morning I noticed the pinch function was not working, I even tried it on a few pictures and in a few web browsers, no luck. i noticed this while playing Video games but i brushed it off, I was playing "Dead Trigger" & "Modern Combat 3" in game the camera goes haywire or would not respond to my touch at all and would continue to not work correctly unless i do a reboot and jump right back in as soon as the tab is back up and running. I have to do this a few times before it all goes back to normal.
I'm wondering if this is a hardware defect and i should return it for a new unit or should i just wait it off untill a new software release hopefully fixes this issue.
or i might just return it and upgrade to a NOTE
Android 4.1.1 - Model GT-P5113
I got this multi touch problem just after i updated the tablet to jb.
Guess its software error or something.
Sometimes works (after reboot) and then it doesnt work anymore.
