What is different about this ROM vs. the 10 other 2.2 Froyo based rom's on this site? Not trying to be an a-hole, but it may make your ROM more popular to do a small write up on what sets your rom apart from the others.
Thanks bro going to give it a whirl. Are apps uninstallable?
Well if u read my intro it days that this is a stock looking rom with some more horses underneath the hood. I'm not saying people have to use this rom its just something I make for myself and I think other people would like it to. If u don't think my rom is good enough u have the choice to use another rom I would not be offended at all.

Gingerbread on G2
I just updated my G2 using the .zip file from this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074391
So far it's really good, but it doesn't have the Nexus S Live Wallpaper... It still has the old Nexus Live Wallpaper. That really bugs me.
And you would think that since they advertise "Gingerbread coming to G2" with the Nexus S Live Wallpaper on the pic that it would come loaded with it.
http://www.tmonews.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Screen-shot-2011-05-09-at-4.06.55-PMwtmk.jpg
Is there a solution to my problem without rooting?

We all know theres the beta ROM of ICS on the web for the 2011 Xperia range, but you need a Phone with a unlocked bootloader, but im thinking, could someone pull out the apps (browser, music, widgets, launcher etc) & theme files (systemUI, framework-res etc) not affecting the actual base of the system but how it looks & feels & put it in a ZIP FILE for use through ClockworkMod Recovery on locked bootloaders... I know theres ICS themes & stuff but their just stock apps with different colours (blue & black) & different icons....
If its any help I found this in the Development section - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1431608
I really like the Xperia Play forums, but most of us are limited as we have bootloaders that cant be unlocked :/

They still would need dependencies that GB doesn't have, and they'd still require a higher SDK build than GB has. You or someone knowledgeable can try to strip off the ICS dependencies and rebuild the APK to make it compatible with a lower SDK number. That would be one hell of a lot of work, which would only make sense if there was really no way to get ICS in our device, but fortunately it's not our case.

Welcome, you're in the right place with your device. So, every ROM found in the dev section is indeed compatible with your phone.
As for start, you wanna have a failsafe recovery on your device. You will able to use it to backup/restore/flash, etc.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
Once it is sorted, make a backup of your wind ROM, then head to the development section and choose your flavor of ROM.
If it is for the wife, I suggest pass on the ICS ROMs as for now.
Edit:
The most stable ROM is so subjective. There are a couple of thread asking the same question, read trough those please to get an idea.
There's also a thread called Wind mobile G2X users unite with some useful advice.
Good luck!

I'd also like to mention that most roms break the ability to send mms without annoying work arounds.

Hellfire Phoenix 2.1 is rock solid and doesn't have any issues with connection or mms. Also its one of the fastest and best supported roms out there with a ton of people willing to help good luck!

I ran across this one day, and i liked it since my phone used to run 2.2.1 until i got a custom rom. The launcher is fast, smooth, elegant, and takes up a small amount of ram. I liked it and I would like to share it with the community, this should work with all phones.
Goood ! =)
