you should ask questions about a specific ROM inside that thread. Maybe your issue has been solved already.

Did you try to change the values under engery controll? You will find it in your system settings. If your values are to switch off the light after some seconds or minutes it might be a hardware issue with one of the buttons.

Stay awake help on JVO

Hello, I am running the stock JVO rom on my capitavate with xcal's kernel and root. I would like my screen to stay on while in my car docking cradle. I know that Samsung removed the option to enable stay awake from all the 2.3.3 roms. I have tried a few different widgets to enable stay away but they do not work in my cradle. They do work when connected to my computer or the AC charger. Can anyone offer advice or assistance on how to get my screen to stay on? Thank you.

I had the same problem. Unfortunately it is a problem with all 2.3.3 ROM's. The only thing you can try would be to set the phone to stay awake when charging.

Hi MikeyMike, Thank you for that information. I am not a developer so, I'm unsure when you ment by that XML file and tag. Are you suggesting that I can change it on my current stock ROM or suggesting I try out our Serendipity VII? If I can change it on my current rom could you please explain it a bit more? (FYI - I've been considering trying S-VII, you do great work.)

Simpler less dev intensive approach.. Grab a copy of 'Extended Controls' from the market.. Create a new toggle whose name is 'Screen on When Charging.' Toggle it (the widget) on and your screen will then stay on anytime the device is charging. Had to use this when I was on JVO as the screen going off while the phone was on my desk but plugged in irritated me to no end. Just checked and extended controls is $.99 in the market..

If you decompile the .apk with APK Manager, there will be an .xml file that you can edit with a text editor like Notepad++.
still not staying awake

Hi MikeyMike01, I took you up on your suggestion to try Serendipity VII, instead of me hacking around in APK and XML files. First of all I like serendipity alot, but my phone still goes to sleep in my car dock. One thing I noticed was that when my phone is connected to my wall charger it will say "Charging (AC)". When its connected to my computer it will say "Charging (USB)". When its connected to my car dock it just says "Charging". I don't remember it saying that when on Froyo. I think it used to say "Charging (AC)". Do you think that might have to do with the problem I'm having with my phone not staying awake in the Samsung official car dock?
I don't have a car dock so I can't do more than speculate.

Are you plugging the cable into the same adapter as this would provide a different current and charge at a different rate than the stock adapter?

Battery app would be a good thing...... A battery app may help you troubleshoot your issue, they chart battery stats and can tell your battery health.
Seriously it maybe able to help solve your problem.
I live in the USA and got an OTA update yesterday, You should check to see if there is an update available for your area, it may help also.
Have you tried a factory reset and then monitor charging without any apps installed, could be an app causing the issue.

[Resolved] [Q] SGS2 switch off itself

Hi,
Sorry for my language, I'm french. I'll try to explain you my problem.
Sorry one more time if I'm not in the good place to post here.
My SGS 2 switch off himself (itself?) after few seconds of using (all king of using : when looking photos, calls, apk, SMS etc.).
I don't have this issue when the phone is charging.
Just 1 second before the phone swtch off itself there is a trouble on the screen like when you call someone and put the phone near the TV set !
Thanks for all
Jeremy
Hi,
I recommend resetting your phone. Just backup your data, that should help and if it persists you might have a larger problem.
Hope it helps
Thank you for helpin.
But already done :/
Maybe my battery causes these troubles ?
The phone switch of just when I use it a little bit when it's on battery, not on charge.
I feel the battery is the problem, I feel it's a little bit swollen.

Yes I'm waiting for the mailman.
Custom ROM, custom KERNEL from few months, but I have this problem for +/- 10 days.
To specify, my phone doesn't switch off when I call... It did that in call just one time.
What could make these issues ?

Good , if your new battery doesn't solve the problem , I suggest you install a different kernel as it may be the problem

Many things but most likely a bad battery. I had similar shutdown issues on my SE Xperia X10. I bought a new battery and everything works fine now.
I have received my battery ! PolarCell from Germany.
1800 mAh !
I have no problems now !!!

Look in the Xposed and/or Franco kernel thread for a similar issue like yours, there may be a fix posted. Last resort is to flash a stock image in fastboot and that will probably fix your problem.

When asking for assistance it's best to provide as much information as possible. As it stands I have no idea what you're referring to, and I think it's safe to assume most people won't either.

Hi,
But what is "this proximity sensor( during call) bug" you are referring? Honestly I have no idea what you are talking about, I never had noticed a bug or anything else with the proximity sensor during call
Like _MetalHead_ said if you want help describe the problem...
Ok fine i will keep that in mind, next time if i post any questions.

For the next time ok, but for now (in this thread here) you can't describe/explain the problem???
There is video on youtube regarding this.i cant post it in here so.
Anywaz the issue is when i m in call,
Steps
1)Call a number
2)Screen goes off.
if i try to make the screen on(to end the all or anything) i have to press 4-5 times power button which also happens by luck to make the screen on.
Also when in call (screen is off),if i try to do something in the status bar.Like if i touch near status bar(in call screen off),when the call ends u can see the status bar was active even if the screen was off.
Hope i m understandable.
i have posted the description of the issue just now .
Historically, this was usually down to a crap screen protector blocking the sensors. OP - are you using an SP?

exactly the same for me!!! (except R33)
Same issue on mine, and I don't use a case or screen protector. It's annoying because I have to enter a passcode to check my voicemail, but the screen stays black when I move the phone away from my head. Putting it on speaker seems to fix the issue, but I don't always want my phone calls broadcast to everyone around me.

How to obtain full power of led torch?

How to obtain full power of led torch? Full power in led is in camera when I take picture,so why torch have low light? Is there any way to obtain full power of torch? Would be grateful
P.S. I can't find it in search option
I'd be curious to know too.
Although, given how the torch already rinses the battery is it wise to make it brighter?
I finded information about LED in Xperia Z1:Sony was block bright mode in LED,because it's too danger for LED.Bright mode is only when we taking picture.

Sorry for my bad English
guys, if possible, please check this and report if this works (it was working for Xperia S when I found out those lines) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086074
ps : try meddling with those values
/etc/flashled_calc_parameters.cfg
# Max current for Torch (uA)
i_batt_max_torch = 1000000
# Flash LED_If max current (uA)
max_if_flash = 1500000
# Torch max current for camera 3A (uA)
max_if_torch_3a = 250000
I didn't test but sounds interesting
damn it this is not working
Dont worry about your LED's guys... I just got a Z1... On my now old Xperia S i have installed countless ROMS thus far, and i will tell you one thing, all the stock ROMS had the lowest brightness... So annoying... And on the other side, all the Cyanogen based roms have a 3 times brighter LED... So bright it can blind you... Now my Xperia S has been flashing around for 2 years and still works just fine...
So now that i got a Z1 i will also be glad if any1 finds a solution for the low brightness
