What's your dream phone?
Mine would be an Android phone (Of course) Running Gingerbread at least, cut from a single block of aluminium, with the psychical buttons and optical trackpad of the HD2 (with the standard android buttons. (Home, Menu, [Trackpad], Conjoined Back and Search buttons)), the 4.3" SAMOLED+ Screen of the SGS2 covered in Gorilla Glass, the 1.2ghz Dual-core snapdragon with Andreno 220, HTC Sense (I love it, but that's just me.) A nice loud speaker, 8MP camera of the Thunderbolt, i don't care for front facing cameras. HTC Made by all means.
Hmm.... im thinking the Galaxy.S 2 with a 4.5 inch screen; the same specs and....
A notification light.with multiple colors.
Captivate 2.2.1 OCed
Atrix Root
Nexus 1 2.3.3
The Dell Venue Pro pretty much hit the nail on the head for me. Great OS, great device, all around amazing phone and I don't think there's much aside from the iphone 4 that even comes close in build quality.
A combination of the Nexus One and the Desire, but with an Intel Core i7 990x Extreme Six Core processor, a nuclear battery (because otherwise it won't last more than 2 minutes ), 8 gigs of RAM and 128GB integrated storage (with a sdcard slot, of course).

The current generation of smartphones – with their 1GHz processors and 512MB of RAM – are already very impressive at what they can do. But rumored specifications (along with a photo) are spreading of the next generation of Samsung’s Galaxy S smartphone – the Galaxy S2 – and its specs will. freaking. blow. your. head. off.

It is supposedly scheduled for release sometime in early 2011 and will supposedly have the following specifications:
-A 2GHz Processor. Possibly the next-generation version of Samsung’s Hummingbird CPU.
-1GB RAM along with 4GB of ROM. This is, as with the CPU, twice the magnitude of current-gen hardware.
-32GB built-in flash memory. MicroSD card slot expandable to 32GB making the Galaxy S2 able to hold 64GB of data.
-8 megapixel camera with full HD (1920×1080) video recording. Current-gen smartphones record video at 720p (1280×720).
-A 4.3” 1280×720 Super AMOLED display
-GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, b/g/n Wi-Fi, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity / ambient light sensors.
-Run on Android 3.0 “Gingerbread”
While all these specifications are well and sweet, I really, honestly believe smartphone manufacturers, especially of the Android variety, should focus on increasing battery life by optimizing hardware + software instead of just blindly increasing clock speeds and doubling RAM. My HTC Desire still doesn’t last more than 15-16 hours whereas Taimur’s iPhone 4 blows past the 24 hour category without even going below 50%.
And yes, these specs are rumored. But if HTC and Motorola’s intentions of releasing 2GHz smartphones are anything to go by, they aren’t unbelievable.

What do you guys think the battery quality will be?
Hm unless Samsung has re-invented the battery for cell phones I seriously doubt this would have any type of usable battery life. I think those specs are too "wish list" to be believable.
But if they really do make that much of a leap in such a short time power to them, I just don't see anything like that happening.
Sorry, can this thread be deleted. I didn't see a Vibrant's "General" section 'till after.
Screw the 4.3" screen. Too big. 4" is perfect.
And these specs are fake.
It's just a made up rumor utilized to get people to visit their pathetic thing they call a 'website' filled with countless ads to make money out of people.
Boringggg. Don't people get bored of spreading these same exact rumors into the world every single time again?
Sounds great but those are some pretty bold rumors. That's a pocket sized computer lol
Battery life would last okay (i think) if it only uses the 2ghz when needed and when the screen is switched off bring it down to 400mhz You never know, it could last
that would be cool but i doubt that anything like that is gonna come out anytime soon.
It sounds like its unreal specs but hey we can dream for now anyway
sent from a evo 4g stock Rom for now anyway
Didn't Samsung said this is 5X faster than the Hummingbird?
Great, now just take those specs and throw in a 1400mah battery and it should be good for a solid 10 hours.
I agree with others in this post: the Android phone manufacturers should look a little more closely at battery life on their phones rather than turning the market into a **** waving contest. My G2 is at 29% after 37 hours right now, and it's a reminder of the reason why I bought it over the Vibrant.
Not impossible:
Processor could be the orion

Now that gives me a phone-boner. Too bad the whole thing would probably have that terrible plasticky feeling that the other Galaxy S phones have had.
Since when Android 3.0 is Gingerbread? These specs are clearly bull**** and rumors.
ITT: people confusing Gingerbread with Honeycomb
i doubt it will have such specs you would need a nuclear power plant to power that thing even for a galaxy Tab 2 is pretty doubtful as specs...
More likely it will be a dual core cpu @ 1ghz with a ram in between 512mb-1gb and a screen resolution of about 540p or so a Samoled2 screen and probably a 16gb-32gb internal storage + sd slot

Dissapointed with HTC again... they could really do better... I don't like the design at all, curvy.. yuck
And also I don't think that the new Qualcomm processor will be better than Tegra or Exynos.
Still 1GB Storage... wtf? It isn't 2007 anymore.
And it has a weak battery again... oh I should shut up now.
I've already preordered the SGS2 and won't cancel my preorder.. the only thing that I will miss is the Sense experience and the HTC logo.
EDIT:
Here is the comparison in GSMArena:
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3875&idPhone2=3621
It would've been the Sensation for me, but being stuck with my Nokia E65, I'm not willing to wait any longer! SGS2 it is!
WTF ???! Dissappointed
Now I think that the choice is pretty simple
Yes, after seeing its Qualcomm, certainly sticking with the SGS II.

there's no competition, the SGS 2 is Thinner, lighter, and blasts the HTC; sensationless.

I think you are underestimating Snapdragon by a very long way.
The 45nm Snapdragon with the Adreno 205 GPU{found in myTouch 4G which in no way is slow} changed things as it roughly doubled GPU performance. The Adreno 220 brings about another doubling in GPU performance.:
So counting it out will be a bad deal, the only real working/in production lineup is Optimus 2X {Nvidia Tegra 2}.Wait for SGS 2 with Exynos & this one with Latest dual core Snapdragon & then we can see.
I would not underestimate the performance of qualcomm. look up anandtech for the benchmark especially of the new adreno 220. qualcomm has done a darn good job in graphics part considering how shIIty there previous gen adrenos. were. i know the review is of a reference hardware and is clocked at 1.5 ghz.

One of my friend has recently got LG Optimus 2X,i played with it for almost 2 days. Was even then hearing a lot of crap about Tegra 2 performance & that time also people were comparing it with Exynos & believe me except for Web Browsing,Optimus 2X rarely slows down, there were just no lags, almost every game plays very well in it.Camera performance, hdmi mirroring all were pretty fast.
Likewise i expect HTC Sensation to also perform similarly.Apart from difference in screen technologies there is apparently not much to choose from both of these great devices.
Battery performance & lower Ram{but still>700MB is hell lot} might be a concern for some one.

MEMORY:- 1GB internal, 768 MB RAM
CPU:- 1.2 Ghz Dual Core Snapdragon, Adreno 220 GPU.
CAMERA:- 8MP Auto Focus, Dual LED Flash, Secondary :- VGA
FEATURES:- TV Out (A/V cable), SNS ( Social Network Service) Integration, HTC Sense UI.
BATTERY :- 350 hrs (2G), 400 hrs (3G) (Stand By), 8h 20min (2G) 6h 40min (3G) (Talktime).
HTC DROID 2 INCREDIBLE
DISPLAY:- 4.0 inches S-LCD, 480x800 with Gorilla Glass.
WEIGHT:- 135 grams
OS:- Android 2.2 FROYO
MEMORY:- 1.1 GB internal, 768MB RAM
CPU:- 1Ghz Scorpion, Adreno 202 GPU
CAMERA:- 8 MP Auto Focus, Dual LED Flash, Secondary :- 1.3 MP
FEATURES:- HTC Sense UI, SNS ( Social Network Service ) Integration.
BATTERY :- 361 hrs (Stand By), 6h 30min (Talktime).
COMPARISON :-
1. DISPLAY :- Both HTC Sensation and Droid 2 Incredible have the same S-LCD Gorilla Glass display panel.
But the HTC Sensation causes some sensation with its huge 4.3 inch display in comparison to 4.0 inch Droid 2.
2. WEIGHT :- HTC Sensation is heavier cause of its larger screen in comparison to Droid 2.
3. OS :- HTC Sensation has the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread, where as Droid 2 has Android 2.2 Froyo.
4. CPU :- HTC Sensation is powered by a Dragon, the 1.2 Ghz Dual Core Snapdragon processor really packs loads of power.
Droid 2 Incredible also has almost equal clock speed at 1Ghz but it lacks the Dual Core Power.
5. CAMERA :- Both have the same 8 MP rear camera, but the Droid 2 has 1.3 MP Front camera which is much better than the VGA in HTC Sensation.
6. FEATURES :- Both have same basic HTC features like SENSE UI and the SNS integration.
The only feature that Sensation beats Droid 2 is, its AV Output capability.
7. BATTERY:- HTC Sensation and Droid 2 Incredible have a close fight when it comes to Battery Life.
8. COST :- The Droid 2 Incredible is comparatively much cheaper about 599$ at Verizon Wireless, where as one can get a Fully Unlocked HTC Sensation for about 880$.
Conclusion :-
HTC Sensation is the complete winner in this evaluation, but is a bit to High Priced.
If cost is not an issue for you then Go For the SENSATION (HTC Sensation).
Hic, it's very nice
hmm, i think new htc devices are getting better in designDD
The HTC Sensation should be awesome! But, we need some confirmation that the bootloader is indeed unlocked...
I'll go for the one that has the latest tech and great design vs the one that was inspired by Quasimodo. Price shouldn't even be a deciding factor. It's like looking at a ferrari and giving it negative points for being out of the price range of a Honda Civic.

With a 2yr contract signing and new phone rebate, my sister got a Dinc2 for $80
Would have loved to take advantage of the subsidy, but i'm only several months into my contract. I replaced my droid 2.
I wonder why those two have such low internal hdd...
hhmmmmm
I like the Droid 2
I definitely prefer the looks of the HTC black slab style more than the other. For that reason, my vote goes to the Dinc2!
Not a fan of Sensation's back design and much prefer Incredible's. But in the end what matters most (to me at least) is the CPU.
I think HTC Sensation is hands down leader in all aspects. With it's unlocked bootloader it will have an option to strip the Sense away...
While we already know the world's first quad-core tablet will be the ASUS Transformer Prime, we just got a glimpse of the first quad-core phone. It's rumored to be called the HTC Edge, and the hardware sounds completely beast.

There is one small detail that you may have already noticed: capacitive buttons. Of course, that doesn't mean this phone won't come with ICS right out of the gate, it just means that it won't take advantage of on-screen buttons.
According to PocketNow, we could see this device hit stores in late Q1 or early Q2 of next year, though carrier info is nowhere to be found.
Via: androidpolice.com
Beast indeed but these are just first renders so the capacitive buttons can be removed in final version. Sensation was different too at the first renders.

They will keep those buttons, htc won't spoil Sense by adding those buttons.
If they do so they will restyle them and release a phone with no hardware buttons.
4.7 is too large for a phone imo.

usb charging port - bad position
I don't like the position of the micro USB socket.
I have a sensation and the side mount is a pain, especially when charging in a car holder.
A quad core should have at least 2GB RAM to accompany it, 1GB is to small. But, am I the only one happy to see HTC is ditching Qualcomm for Tegra 3? I like snapdragon but Qualcomm is horrible with developing GPUs compared to imagination(SGX). I know AMD has better GPUs that Qual can base theirs on.
design is crap and the specs are not really that impressive..at all
some say dual core is an over kill, imagine quad core
I'd like to see them one up the Galaxy Nexus and increase the resolution even further, seeing as how HTC doesn't use Super AMOLED Plus displays.
Also only 8mega pixels? Its like they reuse the same sensors (I know they don't) but they should really make it a 12 mp camera, with a 5 mega pixel front camera.
this beast would drain your battery so fast probaly it would not last more than 3-4 hours unless htc make a battery 4000-5000mah size
this could be better if they use a 12 megapixel and 2 gig of ram.
for cpu side i love nvidia because i use gt550 ti graphic card in my computer and i can say no one make better grapic ships than nvidia and to use a graphic and cpu from nvidia is a big thumbs up.
This phone shouldnt be bigger than 4.3/4.5 because 4.7 is massive and and beside these phones are getting bigger every day . beside i personally think 4.3 inch is perfect for phone and i mean 4.3 sensation style and not desire hd becasue desire hd screen is to wide. but sensation is just perfect.
i hope this phone dont have over heating issue or bad battery life becaus ethis would ruin the whole phone concept.
Not sure how much stock to put into this. HTC only uses Qualcomm made SoCs. I'm personally waiting for a Qualcomm Krait equipped HTC phone.
Ok I just have to step in here and say something. First the idea of a quad core device is great, but it is only good if they take advantage of the eleged 1.5GHz in each core. I mean look at what they did to the Sensation. They o.ly used 1.2GHz of the 1.5 that it has and did not make full use of the dual core. Now before anyone says it I know that thanks to the devs here on XDA we have that now. But out of the box stock no we didn't.
I have already seen people posting here saying that the specs on this rumored device is not impressive or that HTC should up the camera more. Come on people how much better do you really need your device to be. Our devices are pretty Dang good right now. If you want a better camera go buy a better camera. Your phone was not and will never be intended to be a primary camera for someone. It is just a added feature of phones, a selling point if you will. Also if you want a device that has better specs than this rumored device yo probably need to get you a laptop or wait for a Windows 8 tablet to hit the market. This sort of mind set nothing is good enough is what the OEMs want. It does nothing but help them sell products and give them reason to constantly produce new models of devices.
This is not good on the enviroment for one, in case you have not noticed we only have one Earth. And the resources are being depleted rapidly with every new device that is made and developed. Two it is not good on the consumer in my opinion, but I will not go in depth with that as I have already ranted too long.
This is actually interesting to see HTC not using a qualcomm SoC and instead using Tegra.

Well if it is a quad core device they will have to as Tegra is the only ones that have a actual quad core processor chip that works off of ARM technology right now.

Hi,
They can just about keep a dual core cool enough to run at the moment.
How will you be able to run a quad core for any length of time, without some sort of cooling system?
And what are they going to use to power it?
And that beast will suck the life out of any battery in existence. We'll need ChiChiAnker's 4000 mAh for that sucker.

I can not really answer those questions. But I do know the Device in question will be considerably larger than the majority of current devices available at the moment. So it may be possible to use a larger battery in the device. Now your remark about keeping the device cool is a very resonable concern. I will be curious to see what HTC does to keep a quad core processor cool. I have a laptop with a AMD Phenom ll x4 N970 quad core process. And it puts out a good bit of heat so I know how much heat a quad core processor can generate.

If Tegra 3 isn't async would that mean all cores are constantly active and not sleeping? And this thing has more cores than my laptop so I expect it to be extremely fast...But we know HTC will find a way to cripple it with Sense 4.0 anyway, just hope Sense4 works on Sensation too, I want to keep this thing will mid 2012.
The UleFone Be X is probably one of the cheapest phones around with an Octa-core chipset. The phone looks good (in my opinion at least ) and the fact that it's just 4.5" inch is a big plus in my opinion! I just don't like all those 5" inch or bigger models. What do you think about it?
Specs:
- 4.5" inch qHD screen
- 1.4GHz Mediatek MT6852M
- 1GB RAM
- 8 megapixel camera
- 8GB storage
- 1900mAh battery

UleFone Be X
I'll buy one
Some days ago I discovered this device. I am thinking about buying one. Cheap, dual-sim, not big. The only handicap it has the 1GB memory. And the fear from the main camera's pics.
So I have to wait for the first test. In my opinion it could be a best buy.
Okokok

I have the phone at home for a short while now (review coming soon) and to be honest it's quite a good phone. Have been surprised by it's quality. I'll let you guys know when the review is in!

MIUI
If you want MIUI (stable & fixed version ROM) for Ulefone Be X. You can find it on 4PDA forum, MIUI v6 5.8.6, English Installation instructions included. Or on needrom an old version MIUI 5.7.23.
I have a dual SIM uleFone Be X. It's a great little cheap phone, and I've had no problems since I bought it last November.
The other day I noticed there was no signal for both SIM/networks.
At first I thought it was due to the weather, but then I noticed there was no signal in other areas as well.
I soon realized it basically doesn't connect to any network anymore.
So I have tried the following, but no success:
- Switching Airplane mode on/off
- Booting in safe mode
- Automatic search of network: "Cannot connect to this network at the moment. Try again later"
- Manual search of network: "Error while searching for networks"
- Reset APNs to default
- Turn off phone, remove battery, remove SIMs, wait, re-insert SIMs, turning back on
- Insert SIMs one by one while phone is on and on charge
- Preferred network (from the Phone Info menu) is set to WCDMA preferred
- Turn radio off and on again from system menu
Worth a note:
- IMEI numbers are recognised
- Tried with several SIM cards, in both slots, none works
- Same SIM cards work just fine in other phones
Any ideas? Faulty hardware? It literally happened from one day to another.
For what is worth, before the problem occurred I flew from one country to another. During the flight I had airplane mode on, but for a brief moment I switched it off to see if I could get any mobile and GPS signal and check my current position. Could the phone still be stuck at 10k feet in the air?
I think networks disappeared after the flight, but I am not 100% sure. Could have been before, or just after.
Hi!
I've couldn't find anything about Ulefone X, This threat is the closest I've found. I don't think is the same
My phone as arrived 5 days ago, yesterday as received an update to correct some stuff, and did.
But now, occasionally, there's a blank layer over the screen that make very difficult to see what's under that layer. It's not fully opaque but very annoying.
Does someone know how to prevent this?
Thank you.
