Are there any 2.2 Roms out our in the pipeline using the newly released captivate source?

Source hasn't been released yet. Cognition 4.1 is based on AT$T Cappy Froyo 2.2 and works very well.

Soooooo, CS announced on their Facebook page they will be releasing the 2.2 update next week, and 2.3 will be in their labs for "testing" by 7-11-11.. incase some folks missed it.. Phidelt82 you know what that means..

I've got the newest 2.2 build uploaded and ripped apart. As soon as I get back home I'll release it. It's build # is EE25.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
Just curious. Will the 2.2 be any different or better than the eb11.
Sent from my SCH-I500
Phidelt82 i'm going to PM you..
Also, EE25 is the final release build. They also never had the DJ20 Odin to begin with which is a crock if you ask me.. there tech dept blows. They've bricked phones trying to root them. I personally would only use EB11 for recovering from a brick situation, pick-n-pack or one of the other 2.2 roms is the way to go.

It's just a maintenance release basically, but EE23 was too. These should be better than EB11 in that they are less buggy. I don't have a Showcase so I have to defer to the testers on how they think it runs.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
Well mine runs perfectly on eb11 so until I can get 2.3 ill just stick with it.

Oh boy. Welcome to forever ago Cellular South.
I apologize if there is already a thread going on this but as you can see I am using the XDA app and that doesn't have the best search feature. I was wondering if samsung has released any official news on when the US is supposed to get Gingerbread. I had heard that they were rolling it out based on their "Regional Plan" but does anyone know what the plan actually is?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Tbh, I don't think therell be an official gingerbread update for this phone.
1. Not none as much...
2. Hardware wise not that good
3. Tmobile is slow with gingebread.
And I heard krylon is working on a CM7 so we're saved because of him!

Um.... yeah, it's been fairly obvious it's definitely coming.... eventually. So! Let's see a show of hands! How's ALREADY on gingerbread and couldn't care less about an OTA? I don't know anyone NOT on gingerbread.
Awesome, just in time to be obsolete. Ice Cream Sandwich?
Didnt they say sometime in september which could be the end of the month?

Already is, since AOSP based roms (like cyanogen) and phones run 2.3.5 and the HTC version for the Thunderbolt is 2.3.4. Anyways, one doesn't stay stock and expect to be bleeding edge (unless you have a nexus phone).

That's probably what he meant. My T-mobile Nexus S is still on 2.3.4.
A lot of these updates are to get the devices ready for ICS and its features.

Not particularly
2.3.4: Rolled out to all devices - Maintenance release - fixed issues
2.3.5: Rolled out to Sprint Nexus S 4G to resolve signal issues, introduced some SE code
2.3.6: Rolled out to i9020a to attempt to fix Search button bug among others
2.3.7: Introduced Google Wallet
All of the releases since 2.3.3 (which enabled Write support for NFC) have been maintenance releases prior to 2.3.7 which introduced Google Wallet. The ICS branch is a completely separate branch of the development tree.
Mean 2.3.3 .4 .5 and .7 and how y'all think is gonna work Ginger/honeycomb together .... I really would love to get honeycomb itself on my phone ...but that's too much to dream of lol

Its fine
Cyanogenmod has the Animation effect is it possible to pull from that? since it's basically a Froyo Rom?
What's basically a Froyo ROM? CM only has that feature in Gingerbread.
Search "Screen off and Lock" in the Market. It has that feature plus other animations.

Both are possible, just lacking a developer good enough to do it.
